This museum is immaculate, perfectly executed, and sublime. You will cry (alot) as you should(as I did), the stories of those lost on 9/11 are conveyed respectfully and with grace. They are heart wrenching, tragic and inspiring. You may also see interesting history and gain insight into the significance of the structures themselves. This is the best museum I have been to, it and its staff are very befitting of such a sacred place.

This museum is amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and the whole thing is so well put together. I feel like the museum is a worthy memorial for the men and women who died in the attack on the twin towers. The experience is very moving, and if you are sensitive, you may cry. Very worth seeing though, and a good reminder of an event in our history that we should never ever forget.

Mistook this for the Memorial museum and spent my explorer's pass on this, but didn't regret it at all. The complimentary tour by the guide, who had been present on scene during the 9/11 tragedy, was very informative. Information via his point of view and scene by scene narration of his personal experience was a different experience that most other tours that have guides narrating their script. But if I had to choose between Tribute museum and Memorial museum, I'd go for the latter everytime.

I honestly didn’t know there were multiple 9/11 museums so we snagged this Groupon deal and found out it wasn’t the one everyone raves about going to. It’s kind of off the beaten path & such a treasure! It was perfect for the amount of time we had. It was very touching to see artifacts from 9/11 and hear stories. Highly recommend.

Even while waiting about 3 hours in the rain, it was still an amazing experience and would definitely recommend paying it a visit! It’s amazing how see how the people put this together and all contributed to this museum, despite everything they have been through. The audioguide is great but the videos and voice recordings of those who’ve died can really make you emotional. Seeing the artifacts and videos they show you really makes you see how terrible and terrifying it was for the people affected. May those that have died rest in peace.

I think this a beautiful and peaceful memorial. I live in nyc and have to opportunity to visit this at different hours of the day. Even with all the crowds around standing around the museum invokes the feelings and in a busy city with all the noise still manages to capture the moment with a sense of peace.

Wow... Okay so I won't go into detail because everyone knows exactly what this place offers. There's so much to do in what looks like a small Museum. I spent 4 hours and I was rushing. I couldn't finish... I needed about 2 more hours. This was well put together, don't bother looking at pictures to decide if this is worth it. There's a whole exhibit where cameras isn't allowed. So heat warming to know this memorial did it right!

Unbelievable place. It's quite chilling to visit a place where so many people lost their lives in such a terrifying event. The pictures and stories told in this museum gave me chills every time. I would suggest you visit the museum of you are interested, bit plan to spent a lot of time there. Also is quite crowded so my suggestion is to buy the tickets online before to avoid unnecessary wait time.

So very moving, go pay your respects. Flowers on the fountains names are the birthday of that person..a horror the world should never have seen. God bless all those souls regardless of faith or colour it was a human tragedy. Most moving was the voices of the police and fire crews as they went into save people but sadly never came back!

Modern museum commemorating such a tragedy in informative, emotional and factual way. I definitely recommend the audio guide or the mobile app, just makes the experience so much better and is very well designed. The facility itself was extremely cold and the AC was freezing, so bring a hoodie or a jacket to be able to enjoy it anyway.

It really helps visitors understand the horror that was 911, and honours the memory of all those who were lost and the heroes who put their lives on the line on that horrific day in 2001. It is very thoughtful and can illicit a lot of emotions. This is a must visit when you are in New York.

The museum is a thoughtful, impressive dedication to the tragedy of 9/11 and those who perished that day. There are a number of artifacts from the original construction of rhe World Trade Center buildings, as well as from the rescue efforts and victims. Certain areas of the museum cannot be photographed; they are clearly marked. Outdoor ticketing kiosks were not in service but in lieu of standing on the long ticketing window lines, admittance tickets can be purchased using your phone.

Beautiful place to learn about the museum. It is very well done, and they did a fantastic job documenting the events and artefacts, as well as educating people on the various topics about the event from different angles, including the controversies. You need to prepare yourself emotionally before going in, as it can be difficult at times. That said, this is something you can’t miss. Amazing to see how New York City picked itself up right after horrific events.

The museum tell the whole story long of 9/11 incidents. You will be exposed to many sides of NY city before and after the terrorism attack. Be prepared to spend about two hours here. You can download the 9/11 app to your smartphone and use your own headphones instead of borrowing the museum's ones.

Very touching and respectful museum. Some of the tougher rooms have tissues on hand, but I still suggest you bring your own. Plan an entire day if you want to do everything, there is a lot to see and take in, and it can be overwhelming, but it is all very well done. My personal favorite rememberance was the wall by Spencer Finch where he attempts to recreate the color of the sky from that day.

I came there more curious about what in here than anything as 9/11 has been something I lived from far away but also something I'll never forget. When I left the Tribute Museum however, my heart was heavy and it did a great job remembering both the horror of that day and the awesomeness of all the volunteer that helped. I think visiting this museum is important on a trip to NYC because 9/11 has been important in the recent history of the city.

This experience impressed me deeply. It wasn't as dark or overwhelming as a Holocaust museum, but it was impactful and sobering in it's own way, in a way that is most appropriate and fitting. The tribute museum is a touching homage to all those involved in the tragedy of 9/11. A visit to the museum really gave an inclose and Indepth understanding of how this tradegy affected everyone in different ways. In the museum there are things taken from the 9/11 site for you to see. The most touching thing I found whilst visiting the museum was the short videos you can watch. These were from family members, survivors and also the people who helped clean up after the attacks.

This was a moving and heavy tribute to 9/11. We did take our kids (6yrs, 11yrs & 16yrs) to experience this monument and museum. The older ones understood but the 6 year old, naturally did not comprehend why so many died. There was a section about who the terrorists were. We walked quickly through this as I personally could not stand the sight of any of their faces. However the rest of the museum is filled with artifacts that will move you to your core and take you right back to that moment we all remember where we were when these events unfolded.

I just loved how they'd managed to put this place together after all that the New Yorkers went through. So worthwhile a trip there. We heard from an off duty emergency responder that took the risk of their own life to help. Truly inspiring!! My children learnt so much here

Highly recommend!!! Words cannot describe how this museum provides history and context while also honoring the casualties and civilians involved. I cried, I learned, I remembered. I gave myself 3 hours to see it all, which I thought would be enough, and I ended up staying 4 but honestly could have stayed 5 had I not had a time constraint. Came with my friend who doesn't even like museums or history, and she loved it too.

It was a very heavy and emotional experience but I would highly recommend it. I spent 3 hours there and think I could’ve spent another hour if I wasn’t so emotionally drained or if I had prepared mentally a bit better.

The museum is high in detail and very well organized. Definitely a must-do when visiting New York! The lines of people waiting look long in the high season, but it takes much less time to get in than expected. Also, there is the possibility for a free entrance/visit at 5pm every Tuesday. Such a great idea and service/opportunity.

Please do remember that this is not the same as the more famous museum down the street. I highly recommend the other, but this one was still a moving experience. The museum is much smaller than the 9/11 Memorial, but it is no where near as busy. There are many moving tributes to the people here, and it is interesting to hear from many of the people.

We went on the guided tour, our tour guide was Kimberly. She was the perfect tour guide, exceeded my expectations and really was able to tell the story and make you feel the emotions. Definitely recommend the guided tour. The museum also had some original pieces such as clothing from the fire department responders which were worn during their response, surreal to see.

The memorial is 100% worth visiting. I wouldn't miss it. If you enjoy museums, this one is a beautiful tribute. It gives history on the buildings and some even on New York. But the most beautiful part were the tributes to those who died and their families. The picture exhibits were breathtaking. But whether you enjoy museums or not, DO NOT miss walking around the beautiful memorial. Visitors are encourage the touch the names, and the museum even places white roses by the names on their birth dates. So special.

When visiting the Big Apple this place is a must see. Yes you can visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum as well but the Tribute is much more personal and they have staff members who can talk and tell you their stories of them actually being there on that tragic day. It’s a very emotional and more personal museum. I cried and I cried. It was an awesome experience and talking to Guy Sanders who was an EMS volunteer on that day and listening to his stories was educational and powerful.

We went to visit and the queues were so long we decided just to see the memorial which is beautifully done & very peaceful. We decided we wanted to try again to visit the museum so booked tickets online (recommended for everything in NYC that requires a ticket to avoid the queues) and only had to queue for 15 mins (there’s a queue for buying tickets then another for entry) and it was very busy but it’s really incredible. A very detailed tribute. Be prepared for an overwhelming emotional experience. Our children (8 & 12) did get bored so if you have the opportunity to go child free you’ll get to concentrate & enjoy more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Also note - CityPass has the shortest line. We purchased the Explorer Pass and waited for and hour and a half in line event though we already had tickets... picture is of the Freedom Tower right beside the museum.

We visited the 9/11 Tribute Museum in October 2019 during our first trip to New York City, and it was easily one of the most memorable experiences of the trip. The Tribute Museum is largely run by survivors and family members of those affected by the 9/11 attacks, and offers visitors a somber reminder of how the events that day shaped the future of both NYC and our nation. There were a number of artifacts on display, as well as stories and memoirs from those directly and indirectly involved in the attacks. The museum is only half of the story however. The Tribute Museum also offers a walking tour of the 9/11 Memorial and surrounding area, led by one of the volunteers at the museum. In our case, we were led by Desirae, who was a survivor of the 9/11 attacks and worked in Two World Trade Center. She shared her story with us during the tour, and it was truly heartbreaking to hear how it affected her and those close to her. Desirae was lucky enough to escape Two World Trade Center minutes before the second plane struck, but many of her coworkers were not. As Desirae said, the 9/11 Tribute Museum truly showcases the "heart and soul" of the 9/11 events, and allows you to better understand the incident than simply visiting the 9/11 Memorial would by itself. Overall, I highly recommend you give this tour a chance! It's well worth the visit, and we felt very emotionally connected to the 9/11 tragedies afterwards.

One of the most impressive museums I have visited, and been here now a few times. The place is clearly done with a lot of devotion and commitment in presenting 9/11 from the victims’ perspectives. The setting is great being inside the structures of the World Trade Center.

I feel like a younger person who wasn't cognizant when 911 happened would not understand the full impact of it by visiting this museum. Specifically, the emotional impact of the actual event. The footage and info given on the actual event is not what I experienced watching it on TV, and felt watered down. Maybe it wouldn't be proper to give visitors the full impact / full story. I fully expected to break down and start bawling but only a few spots made me a bit emotional. I was hoping to go here and work through my feelings about the event and understand more about it. This museum is simply not good enough in my opinion, and does not convey the full story and impact.

Having previously been to the Titanic museum in Belfast, Ireland, my expectations were set very high for this exhibit. I found the flow and control of visitors very lacking. Many people pushing past eachother, one man yelled at a lady with a crying baby (to be fair she should have removed herself and her child from the movie theatre that was showing a special presentation before the tour). Aside from these severe distractions though, the exhibit was a great example of storytelling in relation to the events of September 11 2001 and the previous attack in 1993. I would definitely recommend the memorial garden above though over the museum tour itself.

My niece is 17 and this is our 4th year in a row to take the walking tour and visit the 911 Tribute Museum. It is much smaller than the official museum, but equally touching. It is nowhere near as crowded as the big museum and is not overcrowded, so you can take your time to move through the museum without feeling crowded or rushed. The walking tour is a MUST. We have had 4+ different guides (some tours have 2 guides) who have shared their personal stories and there are simply no words to convey how moving it was to hear from each of them. Always remember 911.

The survivors always need more people to visit so they can express themselves and let their stories be told. They encouraged me to tell others about it, and I encourage you to because it was a heartbreaking yet truly fantastic experience I loved this tour it was absolutely worth it. (Purcahse a tour with a real survivor at the front desk of the museum it automatically gives you a tour into the museum anyways)

As someone who barely remembers this tragic day, it was not only informative but emotionally moving. The museum is wonderfully crafted, architecturally and informatively. There are plenty of videos and audio clips of the event; those that witnessed it and news clips. When touring the inner room, I would suggest sticking to the timeline (especially if you're trying to stick to a schedule). There are many relics throughout the inner room, so it can be difficult to navigate but if you have the time, it's worth reading. There are tissues throughout the museum in case you forgot some. I'm very glad I visited and can promise you that it is worth going to. They offer student discounts too.

Wonderful museum. A lot of history about the 9/11 events. While you are walking through the halls you can live and be transported to the day when all this happened. I also found some pictures of the old Manhattan, how this city started. Highly recommended for tours in NY.

Highly recommend doing the tour. No, it's not the official museum or site, but you def get a more personal account of the events since all the guides are survivors, family members of victims, first responders, or rescue workers. You can get facts leading up to the events, and/or the effects of the attacks in countless books or documentaries. These are 1st hand stories. They still walk you to the official memorial and give you facts, but the stories of the people who were there are priceless. Also, be sure to ask to see the American Express memorial. It's stunning.

The tribute centre is a great museum to visit. Really tells the story of 9/11. Its worth visiting in addition to the actual 9/11 museum at ground zero. The museum is well thought out and interesting to visit. Would also highly recommend the walking tour run by the museum.

Incredibly sobering and thought provoking. They've done an incredible job without going over the top. Very respectful but also so interesting if totally heartbreaking.

One of the most humbling experiences in my life. 9/11 changed all our lives, it was the main reason why I decided to join the Army. I went with a group of other Soldiers the first time visiting this museum And the only disappointment I faced was the fact that this event happened in the first place. The museum itself and the accompanying memorial outside are a site to behold, a true tribute to those who lost their lives that day and the events that followed. If you haven’t been here or have thought about going but haven’t had time, please make the time and plan a visit to NYC. I got the tickets through Groupon thinking that it's the one by the memorial but it was not. We had to walk like 5 blocks to this small bldg. But it was quiet, very little ppl, and had some videos playing with exhibits displayed. It made me choke to watch the videos and think about all the stuff happened to the people.

Something respectful replaced such a tragedy. For one to understand a nation in mourn and tied together in a loving community, one must stop by the Tribune Center. The light display by night is coupled to a friendly commemorative site for firefighters and rescuers.

The places is a good perspective of 9/11 from the memories and the histories of the people who where there. In addition we had a walking tour of zone zero and it was from a fire fighter totally free from the museum.

I have visited this museum three times and it has yet to lose its power. A fitting tribute to the fallen. Make sure you attend both of the films played at the theater, featuring eloquent recollections of the event from principled politicians (and Tony Blair).

Moving tribute museum founded by family and friends of the victims. Friendly staff and great tours provided by people who were there on the day. Excellent. A more moving experience than the official museum at Ground Zero.
