REVIEWS OF National Museum of Nuclear Science & History IN New Mexico

Christian Denny

It's a really cool museum that shows a lot of new Mexico's history with the nuclear field. They have a bunch info on WWII and the development of the atomic bomb. They also have a lot of current uses of nuclear energy. The coolest exhibits I think are the airplanes out side. They are really big. Down side about it it was a little expensive for the museum.

Tracy Drager

Great information. Knowledgeable docents. Reasonable price

Marisa Hutchinson

It has a lot of activities for the kids to do and explore. Inside the different stations are interactive with stories about the objects displayed. I really enjoyed walking outside to view all the retired planes and here the story behind them

Amy Cates

A gem in the middle of a highway. Lots to look at and remember Americans have great imaginations.

Mark Waterman

Infinitely interesting! Displays were very well done, and captured the era perfectly. Have been there twice come up but haven't seen it all and will certainly return!

Carol Vartian

This is a fabulous museum. It clearly gives the history of nuclear power. There are lots of aircraft in the field behind it. There is also an area for children.

A McCollum

Really cool museum! Great exhibits, detailed information on the formation of various labs and material supply facilities. Definitely worth a visit. Gift shop might be one of the best I've seen with just some really neat must have items.

Sue Hudson

Great museum...very interesting. Be sure to see the presentation in the theater. It wraps everything together.

Ken Richardson

Worth a visit if you're in the area. Very knowledgeable staff and the exhibits are very educational.

Dylan The Elephant

Amazing museum with a cool gift shop too. Some great aircraft outside as well.

Frances Lippmann

The museum is well done. Lots of information from the discovery of nuclear fission to the uses of nuclear elements on our everyday lives.

vinay moharil

If you are a hurry buff and live to learn about the Genesis of atomic bombs and the dropping of bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki there is no better place. Lots of other war planes and hardware available. From the outside might look like a very ordinary and passable building but don't judge the book by its cover. Other more information and hands on experiments available for kids of all sizes and curiosities. A must visit place if you are in the area.

Steve Dedier

Nice concise history lesson with some cool artifacts. You can spend 1-3 hours here depending on how in depth you want to go.

Cassidy Villano

Very informative museum with a plethora of viewpoints about nuclear science, including scientific history and WWII, Los Alamos in New Mexico, the Manhattan Project, impacts on the public and pop culture, impacts on medicine, and a wide array of bombers and missiles outside. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great gift shop with fun collectibles and gift ideas. We enjoyed our time here!

Joshua Horne

Definetely a worthwhile place to stop. Very informative for young and old alike!

Deb Davis

Very interesting museum, would visit again

Christina Sedillo

Such a fun museum to visit! Lots to read about with great exhibits. Not really a place for young toddlers who love to touch everything, but there was a fun interactive exhibit with molecules that you had to jump on.

McKenzie Marie's

Great place for those who enjoy learning about nuclear stuff! What a amazing place.

Eric Frese

It was great! The volunteer veteran people were super helpful with their knowledge, and very friendly!

Brent Davidson

Outstanding museum. Full of surprises. And honestly i was hooked before i even went inside. The outdoor area is awesome too.

Jane Schindler

Great educational experience for grandsons and myself. There many handson displays and teaching videos.

Angella Aragon

Great displays with a ton of history. Great place for kids as well.

Russell Herndon

They had everything from Eistien's original letter to life sized exact replica's.

Mario Kato

What an amazing experience. So much historic content that we were not aware of. Great family fun and VERY educational. The staff is amazing and always willing to answer all your questions. A Must stop when in the Albuquerque area.

Jim Eckman

Great museum for the whole family. Something for the kids and mom and dad. History of nuclear weapons and power. Fully handicap accessible. Easy to drive to. A good experience.

Jack Croach

Great museum, however our guide was more interested in his own opinions about things, about 10 people in our group just walk away, a real shame

Kimikiwi Andersen

I had a fantastic time! I did not expect so much information to read about the history and there were lots of artifacts on display to look at. You can wander outside and look at full size planes and rockets, then continue inside and there are a lot of interactive displays and activities to try at the end of the museum tour (assuming you circle counter clockwise, or past to present).

Paul Jaeger

So awesome! 2 hrs wasn't enough time. I'll be coming back!

Jon Winder

A must stop for any fan of nuclear history or science. The premier place in the US to learn about this history. Amazing inventory of old missiles, planes, rockets, parts, etc. All sorts of information.

Orrin Bare

I didnt even know this was here, I just happened to go past it on my way to a job site. I made time in the schedule to go see it. There was a lot of cool stuff to see here!

Ricka Patterson

Great info, needs seating thruout for those with walking difficulty

Robert Ottoway

I went there 30+ years ago, now it's bigger n better!!!

Rena Kilgore

Planes outside were really cool. The inside had a lot of really interesting exhibits, bit most were working. They can't take discover cards and they seem a bit lost with any other card. So take cash. Probably wouldn't go again

Anuraag Sharma

This museum contains all of the information about the events that took place shortly before the two bombs were dropped in Japan in 1945. There are plenty of displays that show the full scale of the project undertaken by Roosevelt. There are also numerous replicas of all the warheads that were tested over Trinity, NM, that are placed outside along with the airplanes that were used to transport them.

Steve Kepler

Excellent source of historical information on nuclear technology from early investigations about the structure of the atom through WWII and the Manhattan Project, and finally the current technology and risks of nuclear power. If you want group rates, you must phone ahead of time.

Branden Lumley

Great, but why does the atomic model over the entrance is a beryllium atom?...what's so great about beryllium?

CHAOSNCHECK T

Well done. Tons of information and history. I braved the cold and rain to see the planes and missiles. This place is definitely worth the price of admission.

Jane Dunkley

A very interesting facility. Exhibits are very well laid out and with interesting information about them. Outside area with the planes etc is excellent.

Tommy A.

Really fun, unique and interesting museum. Well worth the cost of entry which is also very reasonable.

Alex Montoya

The best place ever wish it was much bigger but its definitely big already but it made me crave more took a case of route 66 root beer with me lol

D Ro2

For anyone who needs to feel the part of history that changed the world forever. Go.

Emily Baker

It was awesome! Took my neice there and she LOVED it!!!! Everyone was friendly and tge volunteers were really informative! Will definitely go back with more of my neices n nephews next time!

Alexandra Davis

Great museum, very compact with tons of information. GREAT guides!

Craig Atkinson

Very nice.. lots to learn here and see.. a trip in both past present and future.

Chris Owens

Humbling. It is worth seeing. Also has interactive displays for the kid in us all.

Carleta Crabtree

Great exhibits. So nice and clean and very enjoyable. Cannot say much for Micheal Rodriguez in the gift shoppe. Very rude, not a people person.

Russ Welch

My kids loved it. We went twice....one of my kids just had to go back to the gift shop.

Dustie L

This is an amazing museum relating to the advent, and use of nuclear energy. The museum is very well set up and has many unique displays. I highly recommend this little gem if you enjoy learning.

Curtis Potter

I really enjoyed learning so many things. It was far more interesting than I anticipated. Stop by if you are in the area

HAWKEYE Clark

Excellent! I got to touch a nuclear bomb! Dont think i was supposed to but i did it. Lots of awesome things to see. A must if you like being around a lot of very cool old things from our days of invention that changed the world.

Josh Pusch

This was an interesting museum. We found out about it from a brochure, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived at about 10:30am, and there was ample parking space. As we walked in, we were greeted in a friendly manner. The prices for admission were reasonable. We looked around and the gift shop was right by the entrance, but we didn't go there right away. Instead, we looked at some of the World War Two collection. They had some of the original things used in the war. We also looked at their temporary exhibit, Taking Things Apart. The museum in general focused on nuclear history than science, but it definitely covered science as well. Outside, they have a massive collection of fighter planes. Overall, I give the museum four stars, because there could have been a little more content, but it was still a good museum. The gift shop was extensive, and it had things such as playing cards, clothes, and bobbleheads. The museum also had a section dedicated to radiation in every day life. They had old things that would have had radiation in them many years ago. Would I go here again? I would, but I don't live in the state, so it would be difficult. However, if I was in town, I might stop by.

Freddy Edgerton

WOW, impressive. Lots of historical stuff

Archie Johnson

Amazing collection of historic pieces for the nuclear area. The exhibits from the developmental sites are amazing in both accuracy and creativity. There is also a lot of world war II specific history, to include Pearl Harbor and Japan. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. Especially with the discounted admission rates they offer. But if much rather spend a whole day, which would be easy, taking my time inside and out. Three staff was great even coming out to give us a 15 min warning from closing. Gift shop is cool too. One thing we didn't get to go over too much was the nuclear energy exhibits which were under construction. But what we saw fun, educational and entertaining! A must go if you're in Albuquerque!

August Norman

We were the youngest couple in the museum by 40 years, but that should change. This place is brand new and very cool and interactive. Most of the exhibits were kid friendly, and all were very informative. This was by far my favorite stop in Albuquerque during our visit. The outside exhibit didn't seem quite finished but it was just a bonus at the end, still very cool.

Douglas Peck

Very interesting. Worth a stop if you are in NM

Jonathan Ting

Good museum, could probably stand to be modernized a bit and perhaps have some of their running videos edited to cut out the repetitive commercial break bits. Cool selection of historic nuclear events and memorabilia. Not the most interactive, so OK for kids, pretty good for adults.

Sarah Jackson

Very well made and fascinating. Our family group ranged from 5 years old to mature adult and there was several things there for everyone. A must visit!

Brian Veach

This place was incredibly cool. It's chocked full of history and valuable knowledge. The staff, both paid and volunteer, are so nice and accommodating. I got there late and they still went out of their way to help me see it all. American nuclear history is rich and colorful and thus museum truly showcases that. A definite must for any history buff but especially science or military history folks.

Ryan Schmitt

Great little museum. Lots to see here, a great way to spend a few hours

Mig Borr

Outside displays need tobe more presentable. The land scaping needs more TLC. Inside museum is ok. Entrance fee is alittle bit higher than other museums that are kept in much better conditions.

james bryant

Such an amazing experience. If you are even semi interested in this stuff I would highly recommend.

Mike Crawford

If you want to know about the history and the science behind the nuclear arms race or just about anything involving nuclear materials, this is a good place to visit.

N Suvor

There are groupon deals for $15/2 people admission. Your ticket is good for all day re-entry. So pass your ticket onto an unsuspecting couple in the parking lot- make their day with free admission. My favorite part was the Cold War Propaganda and the outdoor exhibit. People that work here are amazing and are itching for curious visitors, so engage them! They know a lot about each item and have stories to tell!

Kurt Thomas Jefferson

Old Good Atomic Museum was much better and superior to this new location , specialy Cold war era SSCB - US missile model displays is missing ..Pitty..

Mark B

Packed with the history of the US testing and development of a magor weapon of mass destruction. Well maintained museum with knowledgeable people to answer your questions.

Sandra Comer

We loved this museum! Fascinating history of nuclear energy, with many well placed displays. Plan to stay for hours.

Natalie Dottle

Amazing. We spent about 2.5 hours in this very informative and sobering museum. Probably take your kids when they are old enough to understand the weight of nuclear war.

Raymond Burchell

Lots of good history. Could spend a lot more time looking at all the exhibits. Need to be visited no matter how you feel about nuclear anything. Need to learn the history.

Kandice Seum

We loved this place! Must see; especially for science enthusiasts. My little one had as much fun as the adults. There's a little Einstein area for kids.

Cheri Lenhert

I really liked it. The gift shop was nice with a lot of helpful info. The young gentleman that worked there were great too!

Sumshot Khular

All memories of what we hear in our childhood to read and see the visual was great.Wish they had more videos with wide screens of each specific events and details. NUCLEAR waste management is huge task.Involving local communities as they have to be aware of the long term impacts and effects that they must be aware of.

Theodore J Heilman

I wish my dad had gotten to go but we ran out of time. I had a blast seeing all the old equipment and learning out history. I learned a lot of information that I didnt know and had a great time with grandpa.

Curb-N -Sign

So cool. Who knew this place was in Albuquerque NM. Learned a lot about all the men and women who pioneered nuclear science.

Paula Gonzales

I can't put my finger on why this museum is just OK instead of outstanding, but that's the way I always feel when going there. My son was disappointed that they have put fencing around the planes outside and that you can no longer go underneath them and look inside. The interactive exhibits were mostly broken. It was a very "meh" experience overall.

Dale Urban

Very informative with great displays. The guides were also quite helpful.

Scott Loftesness

Deep history about the world of nuclear science. Very friendly docents.

SJ Brown

History that if not remembered is being repeated. Thoroughly engaging. A must see companion to the Smithsonian space museums.

Aloysius Muscella

The amount of stuff they have and the knowledge you can obtain is outstanding

Edward Dottle

Amazing. Few facts I knew that was not shared but many new facts I learned. You can learn the entire nuclear arms production history of the United States in detail. Little kids can explore interactive displays that are interesting and fun for all ages. The planes, cars, and rockets are so cool. You get up close and personal and feel the size. Does a good job quickly educating the history of the MAD arms race. Highly recommend.

James Peyton

This is a MUST SEE. There is also a museum in Las Vegas Nevada that is a must see. People were very helpful and friendly. Good visit...take your time. There is lots to read.

Toad Stool

very cool place. Many hands on exhibits

BoiHang Dang

Love this place, learned a lot, pleasantly surprised

Todd Flanagan

This is a very cool museum! Lots to look at and learn. The planes outside are the best part.

John Wolkenhauer

Very wonderful experience today at this one of a kind museum of nuclear energy. Great exhibits, huge volume of information, and an enjoyable history lesson. The men greeting guests at the front door are outstanding examples of our veterans and Patriots. Just wonderful people ! Make sure you go outside to see all the perfectly preserved airplanes. Simply awesome ! Take the time to watch the movies about our venerable B-52 Stratofortress planes. You will thank me later ! Don't forget to pick up a souvenir, and make a generous donation, so they can continue to serve the public with this excellent experience !

Travis Forbes

Great history of nuclear weapons and medical uses. Good kids area and plane display

E-Ma

Half of it was US war propoganda. The rest of it was decent

christina villarreal

Very informational place to learn about history. My husband and I really learned at Lot while visiting here. Highly recommend a visit and the staff is super friendly and mostly veterans and volunteers.

W Monsky

this is one of those places you don't really expect it is a phenomenal history of nuclear power and the atom bomb. The place is deceiving big with a lot of interesting information and movies then you get to see all the airplanes Outback and missiles. Lots of information to absorb great to see a B-52 and a B-29 next to each other.

Ariel Echevarria

Great place to visit. I was there for about two hours. Lots of information and some cool stuff to do

Adam Katheiser

This was easily one of the top 5 best museums I have ever been to. Absolutely amazing! Cant reccomend this place enough!!!!

Chris Swam

Very well done and many exhibits. They have real artifacts and equipment from the Manhattan project, nuclear weapon management (arming, launching, etc.), rocket/missile components, and much more. Lots of history and hands on learning. The aircraft and rockets are pristine.

Allen Coomber

Great museum if you are into military stuff

Robert Hines

Great museum, very well done. Covers the very interesting history of making the nuclear bomb and the Manhattan project through the cold war and up to present day uses of nuclear power. Worth the trip.

Luke Frerichs

I have to say this was really well done. I would have preferred a bit more information about the Hanford Range in Washington. But overall the museum had a great deal of information and good displays on the military use of nuclear power. There is a nice interactive section for kids who may get bored with all the displays.

Kristina Kaldon

Awesome museum and really amazing workers there. Everyone is helpful and knows their stuff and the artifacts are awesome!

Meghan O'Connor

Utterly fascinating. I love the element table inlay in the floor, and am also impressed at the number of female scientists honored on the wall. An important part of our history and so many things I didn't know in detail. There's something everywhere you look. I love the planes outside, too. Thanks for having a bunch of Marie Curie and Rosalind Carter stuff in the gift shop!

Theo Takacs

Really informative, and I can never get over how cool ferrofluid is

Robert Stephens

Any history buff of nuclear power and WWII will love this place. They also have many other cool exhibits. And they have some really cool activities for kids, which my wife and I also enjoyed. The entry fee is more than worth the history lesson.

Alex Hale

Just amazing. You must see. I'll return.

April Boatner

I really enjoyed visiting this museum with my girls it's located 5 minutes from Kirtland AFB and I found it poignant that in their display of women in nuclear science there was only one minority woman. I'm all about giving my kids exceptional experiences and this was one. We got to see the inside of a ballistic missile. I'd hoped to see a documentary on The Manhattan Project but it was too much for my 9 month infant. There are a lot of hands on activies.

Jessica Torres

So much information! The museum has an abundance of knowledge to give. In my opinion, the museum was a bit heavy on the read it yourself delivery method, but still well rounded and informative.

Goofy T

Boom BOOM. BOON BOOM BOOOM BBBOOOJNNN C.F.

Matt Crawford

We went and did a quick walk-through at the museum. I went there expecting more pertaining to nuclear weapons rather than 1950's Americana. The aircraft and missiles on display could use some attention. I was surprised to see the submarine sail. Pretty neat. I didn't see everything... Don't know if I'll go back. Mileage may vary...

John Rodge

Really neat to learn the history of nuclear science.

Meghan Galanif

We stopped here mostly to check out the outdoor aircraft and ICBMs. Unique museum, but a little pricey. We only spent about 30 minutes, but there is a lot of information to read if you want to spend longer. Very helpful volunteers to guide you through and answer questions.

Samuel Mouget

We spent a good time in the national museum of nuclear science. Very instructive and lot of interactive activities. You need to stop here if you want to know more about the Nuclear history

Marlin Arriaga

The B52 is breathtakingly beautiful. You will be lost in its details and when you take a step back, you will find yourself wanting to go back to look at it once more.

Dominic Sedillo

This museum is wildly fascinating. The Atomic Age is such an interesting part of our history in the U.S. and also world history. All of the mechanical devices in the displays make me giddy. It amazes me the ingenuity of human beings (especially when united). I went to a special event last night and signed up for a Family Membership on the spot. I had been considering it for over a year and I'm so glad I did.

Kevin Pelley

Great museum, awesome staff. The museum has fun exhibitions for kids, and lots of cool information for nerds like me who love to read and learn all the details about everything. The inside exhibits are well presented. The staff have a great time adding to the story. I took a tour with a retired gentlemen who worked at Sandia National Laboratory and was a tribe of unclassified stories - I wonder what things he COULDN'T tell me. The outdoor exhibits were my favorite. I love seeing the bombers, missiles and bombs. I love this place.

Bryan Monaco

Very cool! I was there 30 years ago and it's grown a lot since then. Very informative for a science or history buff.

Erica Root

Very interesting. Need at least 4 hours to read everything.

Margy Green

Interesting history of nuclear science from early days to modern uses

Meghan Thomas

What a great experience! We had so much fun in the updated little Einstein area and there are so many exibits to see and try. Will be returning!

Elizabeth Layton

Great museum! A lot very cool artifacts, displays and planes outside. Great deal for your money.

Becky Moore

Well laid out, interesting to me. They had a hands-on area and planes outside. Don't expect flashy or exciting.

Robert Payne

Excellent experience great for all ages.

Cary Gibson

Amazing to see a what we usually only read about. We must not allow history to be stamped out. We must learn from the past. Plan on spending some serious time here. Highly recommend knowing what has happened throughout history. From northern California (10/27/2019)

Sylvia S

Grandson love it and watch every documentary they had about the bombs that were use on Japan.

Donna Love

So much to see. Lots of ready g, but very interesting

Truth Seeker

Overall, my experience at the Museum was positive. The layout was excellent and the individual exhibits were fascinating. The talking Albert robot was brilliant, and one got a true understanding of how relativity shapes the basic fundamentals of physics such as light, force and energy by clicking buttons with various questions to ask him. The timeline that describes how nuclear energy evolved from the ancient Greek's definition of the atom to today's nanotechnology is described in detail, from both a historical and a scientific perspective. The docents were very knowledgeable people with a strong scientific background. Personally, I thought there was too much emphasis on the military and war. All in all, however, I would strongly recommend the Museum to anyone who is truly interested in science and the history of nuclear energy.

Robert Wright

Very interesting. Lots of war material, and airplanes. Excellent signage explaining the exhibits. Docents were knowledgeable, and friendly.

kelley hellman

So interesting. There is kid friends learning games up front.(pre-k to 3rd or 4th grade) the museum itself is history presented with video, pictures artifacts & stories!

Jeanetta Butler

Enjoyed with my kids and we all learned new things.

Bradford Hellman

It's very interesting to see how atomic & nuclear weapons were developed. Nice airplane collection too!

Thom White

Better than I expected if you're interested in air and nuclear weapons history it's worth checking it out. Easy to find, free parking and plenty of guides to explain displays. Price is fair. Important part of our history.

Team Craig

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about each piece in the museum. The museum had fun and exciting facts about nuclear science. The gift shop had something for all ages including books, planes, science experiments, t-shirts, popcorn, and etc. The bathrooms were clean. (Mens, womens, & family rooms) Water fountains available.

acpjunkie

Must stop for any one with even a mild curiosity about nuclear science and the history behind the Atomic Age.

Chris Rackley

This is a fantastic museum! And if you're a local you get a small discount on your entry price. They have something for everyone here. They often have a movie running (you can call and check to see when they will run these). And they gave a gift shop as well as an area just for kids. The outdoor area is broad so make sure to wear sun protection.

Lance G

Visited here early Saturday morning and I really enjoyed my visit. For two adults, you're looking at $14 each, which buys you admission for the day. Alternate admission costs are available for various age ranges and situations, so check their website for more info if you're curious. The museum isn't huge, but the different exhibits it has are fascinating! Starting with some of the earliest scientific breakthroughs in areas of physics, mathematics, and chemistry, you start then to learn about the escalation in nuclear development that began in Germany in the 1930s, the likes of which subsequently prompted the famous (or infamous, depending on one's perspective) results of the United States' Manhattan Project. Exhibits touch on so many different parts of Nuclear science, including its role post-WW2 during the Cold War. You'll get to see the various ways Nuclear energy was weaponized, but also it's different applications in areas such as medical science or energy. There's also a great exhibit on the B-52 Bomber, along with some really cool videos talking about the different conflicts where the bomber was used! While there's lots of reading available, the exhibits themselves are really cool to see - models of different missiles, laboratory equipment, medical technology, bombs, and other nuclear-related tech can be found everywhere. If you have any interest in this field, or in military history during the 20th century, I'd say this place is well worth visiting.

Phil C

Wonderful facility outlining the history of nuclear science, weapons etc with an outdoor area containing aircraft and rockets. Reckon on a couple of hours as they have historical videos playing. Very informative and helpful docents at this great museum.

Susanne Shoffner

Lots of displays with very detailed info.interesting and informative.DOCENTS ARE NICE AND HELPFUL

Marsha Lance

Lots of interesting information. Well done.

Tom Childers

Pretty interesting. Some of the exhibits like the super phoenix and a couple things in "Little Albert's lab" didn't work, but the premise was still educational.

Julie Azbill

What a cool place. I learned so much. It is very interesting for all ages. The airplanes are wonderful and the knowledge you get us unbelievable. Outstanding job!

Chris Sotraidis

Extremely interesting and well curated museum. If you're curious about anything relating to nuclear technology and history, you'll find it here. Jaw-dropping artifacts, recreations, dismantled and intact aircraft, and a theater. Really helpful staff and plenty for kids and veterans to see. A must see!

Tori Johnsen

I love science and history so this was like heaven to me. It is the only nuclear museum recognized by the federal government making it the national museum. They have so much information and many thing to see both inside and out! They have different sections for different time and uses for nuclear energy or radioactive material. Be prepared to spend like 3 hours in this deceptively small building. Also cameras are welcome, so don't forget that! Children of all ages can enjoy many of the exhibits and activities. There are larger objects outside such as, multiple aircraft, a few missiles, and a replica of "the gadget"(don't know the gadget? Go to the museum to find out). Currently, they are restoring a Russian Mig(I think it's a 21) and they will be standing up a minuteman missile soon as well. GO SCIENCE!

John Farish

Went to see Godzilla vs Mothra and had a great time although it was a bit cold. More space heaters next time! The museum is a lot of fun too, def worth a look if you have time around the area!

Pam Carrillo

Sooo interesting. Learned much.

Aj Maxey

Great place for any science nerds like myself and also has much to offer in our Nuclear science history.

Kenneth Manley

Wonderful The exhibits are a timeline of the nuclear age. They have mockups and original aircraft and launch de vices. They also have a science area for kids. Must see if you are in the area. Admission is very reasonable.

Cari Bias

Very cool display of the past, but the guides, and the knowledge they have made it amazing.

S Aragon

Definitely cool to check out, even just to see one of the places Breaking Bad was filmed. But they have a great staff and fun little hands on activities for the kiddos to do.

Disha Somaiya

The staff was great and the exhibits are awesome. It is not to big so easy to cover

Rochelle Wilderness

I loved all the information. But beware it is A LOT of reading. Not reccomended for rug rats. Mine had 0 patience.

Andy Galles

We only visited the gift store. Staff there was friendly and the store has a great variety of items. You can see some of the airplanes on the outside. If we had more time er would have gone through and looked around.

Max Malcolm

Very informative and fun museum. Maybe this is because this is something that I've been interested in some time. Despite my research and experience, I learned a lot. The staff was also very informative about the potential for nuclear power.

michael rodriguez

Great museum. There's lots of history of nuclear age. Plane outside are amazing, they have b52 b29 b47. Also an atomic cannon.

Chris K

Very nice museum. Must see if in the area, if you are interested in the science, political ramifications, and clean up of nuclear energy.

Paul Gallivan

Got to talk with a docent who flew the B52 and the B46. Great stories and wonderful history.

Becki Hands

Much bigger than it looks. Awesome, some interacrion, videos, spots to sit, outdoor play and lots of planes.

Richard Glitz

Great place to learn something you probably don't know much about.

Craig S

My wife and I had the chance to visit this amazing museum located in Albuquerque. It's a bit of a trek to get to but well worth the trip. The museum tracks the development of nuclear energy, specifically the atom bomb in WWII through the cold war, and post-war peaceful uses and controversies. Furthermore, there is a large section that delves into physical sciences for the younger visitors. To fill out the artifact-rich collection, the outside displays include nuclear delivery systems such as bombers, missles, rockets, the sail from an American missle-carrying submarine and the enormous "Atomic Annie" artillery piece. My visit included some interaction with staff members and I have to say that I was warmly welcomed and they were generous with their time and attention. Not all visitors can expect to conduct business with these kind folks but they are typical of all the staff I met. Take the time and effort to get to this museum, and budget at least two hours, but if you are like me, wanting to take in all the videos and interactive displays, a half day would be more appropriate.

Salvatore Sciacca

My son and I visited this museum during our Route 66 road trip and we really loved it. Very friendly staff members who were well educated on the exhibits. It's a very educational experience about the development of the nuclear bomb program. And there is a really cool outdoor museum of military planes and equipment.

John Ivy

We had a good time. I didn't plan on visiting, but I'm happy I did. Bombs, fallout shelters, atomic science, aircraft and ballistic missile collections, this place is a trip. 50% museum of science and 50% museum of American neuroses.

Brian Kellam

We'll maintained museum, some interesting and interactive exhibits. Good way to kill a few hours

Nona Nie

Very interesting to learn about. Lots to look at

Wendy Graham

Super interesting museum, I learned so many details of US history, wars fought and won, plus interesting history on B-52 bombers, Hiroshima, WWII, etc. As a history major I am always fascinated to learn more about history, and this museum definitely delivers. Very well put together and super interesting film clips and displays. Thoroughly enjoyed our morning there.

carol vartian

Extremely interesting one of a kind museum. Definitely worth the money.
