Here you have the information of real people who consumed the services of Museum of Nature & Science (Museum) in New Mexico area.
Currently this business has a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and this score is based on 299 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is practically the best, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the assessment is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.
Wonderful museum. Slightly small but great place to take kids or spend some free time to learn about the area and local artists. Helpful workers and guards.
Nice atmosphere and you learn from different types of history and friendly staff.
We had a great experience here. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Very educational and interesting.
It was free when we went, and great for kids. The actually had little science experiments for kids. Check out the giant Amethyst!
Great interactive displays & very child friendly.
Love it
Impressive building- I had a great time from beginning to end. Daily tours will extend your knowledge of the Museum and history. Very impressive North American diorama collection of nomads, animals, dinosaurs and trees. Learn about extinct animals or animals on the extinct list. See excellent work in tacodermy of extinct animals.
Love this on Saturdays during the Farmers market. The kids can take a break from the heat use the restroom and learn.
A small science museum but it's worth the visit. It gave me ideas how fascinating Las Cruces and the surroundings are because dinosaurs once roamed these places so long ago. You see evidences here at this museum.
(Translated by Google) Very cool, great to go with the kids, and for € 5 it was great (Original) Muy chulo, genial para ir con los niños,y por 5€ estaba genial
a lot more then meets the eye!
A great museum to take the family. Only got to see the science side but I'm glad something like this is on main street.
Neat little museum. Great displays. They even offer classes.
Things too learn
My toddler loves it and I love they have activities for them
Geat place to visit with children for then to learn and explore.
Small but good though
My Nephew loves Science, Dionosours, & Reptiles we go with him every Saturday and they always have things to do and we never get bored. It may not be the biggest place but they always try to make learning fun.
Great to take the kids, they offer summer classes, bit pricey but gets your kids outta your hair for a few hours. Lots to keep them entertained!
Learn about New Mexico's dinosaur past it will amaze you
It was great. My little one certainly enjoyed it.
Nice
Had a great time!
Small but interesting museum. Entrance also includes train museum down the street. Work on the roads now on both sides of museum so easy to drive by it & one side is also one way @ this time.
Love bringing the kids. The name itself is very appropriate, in that you'll find (mostly live) exhibits of wildlife and some interactive exhibits like the one where you can use prisms to refract light. I remember a nanotech exhibit I particularly enjoyed myself
Almost all of the exhibits were so COOL! Minerals, dinosaurs, space, ancient Egypt, and natural wildlife exhibits!! A must see!!!
free entry nice exhibits
The Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science is a great place to take children for an outing. The museum is free, and they have some hands on activities. My grandkids enjoyed their day there. The Art museum is connected so you can also view some great art after you visited the Nature and Science Museum and the Art Museum is free too. They do have donations boxes in both areas so drop a few bills to keep these museums in our community.
Granddaughter loved it
I wished I could be here every day! I took the grandkids for the afternoon, we had a fun time building a satellite and testing it. We enjoyed the room with the large planet that changed colors as we interacted with it. Museums have changed since I was a kid. Hands on fun is always a great way to learn and appreciate culture.
Great place to stop for an hour or so for a quick taste of natural history!
Cool place to go
Museum is very small and doesn't have much, but they are friendly and what they have is pretty cool.
This is an awesome museum that the City of Las Cruces provides. Granted it isn't on the scale of a children's museum or a dedicated science museum, but it does touch on a lot of subjects in a very small space. They have astronomy, topology, fossils, love animals found in the area, dead animals found in the area, and at times host certain events mostly for children. They are attached to the Art museum complex as well and are across a courtyard from the Branigan Cultural Center. All of these museums are free but also accept a "pay what you think we are worth" donation system. It's well worth at least five dollars. Don't go expecting the world, and you'll have a great time.
Perfect outing with the kids.
Great place lots of history play ground ...nice view.
This place is awesome and it's free...wow.. That is amazing, you can't get that anywhere anymore..So how could you go wrong.. Check out out videos while we visited here.. We are "The Qper Family" of Las Cruces. Look up our channel on YouTube to find more awesome things to see and do in our beautiful city.. Much love Family..
There's not much to see at the museum building (both the art, and nature and science museums are located in the same building), but the free admission and dedication to display quality make it worth a visit if you're in the area.
Love the atmosphere staff very friendly actually a relaxing yet interesting museum I would definitely recommend and come again
Food and service is great!
Great place to take in some natural history of the area. Like the fossil tracks.
Small, a few live animals mostly amphibians, reptiles, insects and turtles. Can go through this museum in less than an hour. It's connected to the art museum. Some great info on the Mesilla Valley animals and their habitats. This museum is on the downtown Mall, where the farmer and craft market runs every Wednesday and Saturday 52 weeks a year. The museum is informative and regional specific also has great info on the prehistoric regional areas and digs.
Cute little place it's free and worth a stop in to let the kids out to learn a little bit and have some fun
This museum is about looking and understanding—looking up to the stars, looking out to the desert, and looking down to see ancient fossils. There are three primary permanent exhibits: Desert Life, Permian Trackways, and Light & Space exhibits.
Not only was it free to take my fine and two year old. They had a really good time.
I was helping setting for Southern New Mexico Pride booth at the Farmer's market Plz go by and support our local L.B.G.T.Q. they will be there till 1 PM today
Great small museum
My visiting grandsons loved this museum. How nice that it's free. Always something to learn for all ages. They also enjoyed the adjoining art museum.
Great little museum. I was impressed for it being a free museum.
It's small but it's free and the kids enjoyed the animals!!
Great hands on fun activities for kids. Love of live dessert amphibians. Lizards, turtles, snakes and more.
A great place to take your children in the heart of downtown Las Cruces. They have lots of interactive learning tools, animals, dinosaur fossils, and a neat planet display. A must visit!
The kids favorite part of downtown
Need a gift shop...part of the fun.
Nephew's had a blast on their visit!
Just wonderful take your kids there lots of hands on stuff
Fun and free!
I love it
I like this museum. It's perfect for the city off las cruces.
Again, one of a kind. Must go to.
It's free!
Small but nice
Great interactive exhibits, my grandchildren really had a great time.
Very informative, nice place
Nice small family museum. Enjoyed the exhibits. Very educational. Entertained our 7 year old all the way up to our 17 year old!!
Love bringing my kids here!
Many of these review are for the ART MUSEUM, not the Nature and Science Museum. As for that little gem, it is no longer kid friendly. A few turtles, magnets, and a globe screen. The dinosaur dig pit has been out of commission longer than it's been usable. The toddler times/educational stuff they do is a coloring page and a streaming show. No is allowed to make noise, walk happily, or enjoy their time. Even though it's free, I cannot say that it's worth taking the time to go.
Wonderful free museum. Very new looking with some great live exhibits and some educational displays.
Free museum with great exhibitions, lots of useful information, weekly activities for the kids and excellent customer service.
My kids had fun. They loved the big snapping turtle the most. They are 4 and 2 years old.
Part of several great free things to do in Cruces. Met wonderful people and did a little scavenger hunt.
Great exhibits of local natural interest.
It's very small, but the kids love it. The museum is always clean and well maintained.
Fun place and free
It's very interesting!
Great place to stop with the kids real quick.
Nice place for learning
The animal encounter talks are so interesting and you get the opportunity to touch/get up close with different animals in the museum. The staff is very knowledgeable and more than willing to teach you something new.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great presentations for young and old alike, covering local Flora and fauna, to space and astronomy
Fun! Variety! High quality museum! Right here in little ole' Cruces! Saturday during Farmer's Market they have activities for young ones right out front. It also connects to the art museum, also high quality!
First time going :)
Cool exhibits
I great place to see if you have some free time. We saw all three places which were free. We still donate some money to this wonderful place. We really appreciate it. Thanks for having this place open. We really enjoyed the history and culture and knowledge your town shared with us. Thanks

Nice museum, very good for kids
While small in size there were several well done exhibits that spark the whole family's curiosity. You could quickly stroll through or take the time to get into both the live animal exhibits and interactive tech based displays. Good for a 60-90 minute exploration. FREE too! Their almost non-existent website and social media do the museum a disservice. Art museum is also connected to this facility and Free.
Great time with the kiddos, lots to learn and see
My three year old was amazed. He loves science (astronomy in particular). It's a small museum, but totally worth the visit. The staff is polite and helpful. The nature section was great, but we loved the planetary section most. Free admittance! We will return if we ever come through Las Cruces someday.
Great musuem for our small town. Exhibits are relevant and interactive.
Cool art, Cool Animals. The place is awesome.
Absolutely love this place.
Nice place to take the kids on a hot afternoon. Nice collection of fossils and live animals.
Great place for kids to learn about animals and space.
Pretty cool. Small but definitely something to entertain thet littles for 30-45 minutes
Small place but very nice
Awesome. Loved it
Great place for families to visit, very kid friendly!
Es pequeño pero es muy educativo. A mi hija le gusto.
This is pretty good Museum. Since it's government-run much of the active displays are non-functional. But the static displays are usually pretty good, and do rotate enough to make a bi yearly visit worthwhile, for children. There is usually at least something new every other year that might be of interest to adults.
Awesome exhibits!
Loved it!
small but well worth the visit
Awsome
Always enjoy a visit to the museum...great setting...nice employees and volunteers.
Not much but still interesting
The Museum of Nature and Science was truly educational. I attended a short presentation on March 16th presented by Cheyenne Stice about botanist Ynes Mexia. We created terrariums to showcase the development of plant growth. Fun for all ages!
It was cool
It was between exhibits; I can't give a fair acessment. I was there for a photography workshop. Good session lead by a local artist grad student. From looking at the spaces the museum has, I believe it should be reasonable for accessibility . Elevator to the second floor. No major architecture barriers that I recognized. I look forward to going back for future exhibits. One warning... The traffic pattern outside was disrupted by street improvements. Check before you go ... Not sure how long that mess will last.
lots of really nice informative displays.
They rotate their art expositions fairly often and their animals look well taken care of. Always nice to visit, very good programs and classes as well.
Nice free museum with an emphasis on the local wildlife of the Chihuahuan desert plus animals living in this area during the Pleistocene. They have a good display of dinosaur tracks (footprints.) Families with children should find it especially interesting.
Friendly staff. Great tour.
This place has dinosaur tracks from a local site just out of town. And some interesting interpretation. Worth a stop.
Educational. Exhibits are carefully planned. Good balance between written into and visuals.
Fun for the kids!
Lots info
It's small, but really wonderful to visit.
My kids love the animals and the globe and the geode. But they want new revolving exhibits like when the museum was at the mall.
Very nice exhibits and a spectacular dimetrodon skeleton. A tad small, but it's put together nicely. Also has an attached art museum with great pieces.
Amazing. Good place to bring visitors of all ages.
Good for children.
We had a great time.
This small museum offers many exhibits regarding the natural history of the region. Children's activities are scheduled every Saturday morning during the farmer's market.
Small but very informative and well done. The main exhibit now are the animals the desert and an astronomy exhibit
Awesome
A favorite place to visit after lunch with friends or before an early dinner.

Great
Very interesting. Would recommend a visit there
My son loves this place. Especially the interactive space stuff. And a free class for preschool kids on Thursday mornings.
Amazing
This museum is very small but packed with good stuff related to the region. It's very well curated and fun for kids and adults to move through. It's connected to two other free museums. With free parking there's no reason not to check this place out if you're in town. It won't take you too long to go through them all.
It is an interesting place to visit. My gradson loves it there. They have classes on Saturday with various subjects.
Had so much fun even did the scavenger hunt will definitely visit again when in New Mexico
I like the exhibits and my kids like them too.
It is pretty small for the average person, but probably just for when you are taking a 2 year old. My grandson thoroughly enjoyed it and really like the live animal displays.
Awesome place for children. The place is very clean and friendly staff.
Nice place to take kids
Really well done!
I enjoyed my visit. Very good
Nice educational place for new mexico desert.
Small but very nice exhibits. Friendly staff.
Can't beat a free museum! Great for kids of all ages - adults can enjoy it too. Nice addition to Las Cruces
Very nice
Nice but small free too. Great thirty minute stop
Nice
I always have a pleasure in seeing the new exhibits
This is a wonderful small museum in downtown Las Cruces. This is especially a great museum for children and to learn about the geology of Las Cruces and New Mexico!
Museums will always get my top votes. While this place is small, it does offer many things to see. The museum staff and volunteers were very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed this.
Staff were there to answer questions and knowledgeable about the content.
Was very nice for small town museum. Located around so many different shops.
Best in town
It wasn't a very big machine but it was done up nice
We love this place!
