Love it. I visit every chance I get and I bring my family and friends who are visiting Santa Fe.
Excellent Museum: Santa Fe Museums are fantastic and this museum is the best in town. Amazing! This museum is well designed easy to access and features fantastic staff, gift shop and educational programming. A true treasure! A must see!
I freely admit that I have much more culinary knowledge and experience than I do with art. I knew that Georgia O’Keeffe was known for her visually stunning paintings of flowers, but I wasn’t familiar with her story or her love of New Mexico. In addition to the museum, her former home at Ghost Ranch, offers classes, tours, horseback rides, and amazing views of many of O’Keeffe’s favorite sites. Having only seen examples of her florals, I was really surprised by her contrasting earlier works of New York city skyscrapers as well as paintings from her travels: mountain peaks in Peru, and Japan’s Mount Fuji. I thoroughly enjoyed the museum and especially discovering more about the artist. I will save a tour of the Ghost Ranch for my next visit to Santa Fe!
Generally good, but small and difficult to watch the historical movie because it was so crowded. I expected more paintings than the number actually on display.
Beautiful museum. Well laid out. Interesting film.
Not worth the money. It's a gallery NOT a museum.
Great small museum. Parking was easy in March. Excellent gift shop. Bought an exclusive for G.OK museum silk scarf by local artist Nora Daniels. Best museum "Souvenir" ever.
Well worth a visit...the short film at the start gave great context to the exhibits... helpful docents throughout the bright space...a nice museum shop as well
Some of her her famous works are housed here. There is an audio tour for purchase as well as a floating docent you answer questions as they come up. So glad I went!
The museum itself is good. The ladies at the entrance were not friendly but they might have been volunteering but would have been nice to be greeted. We had to put backpack in locker and that was no problem but woman behind us was not asked to do the same. The men/guards inside were not friendly and just follow you around. Not greeted at all in gift shop. I wish there were more paintings to see.
So grateful I was able to finally be surrounded by Georgia's work. (Seeing this museum has been on my bucket list for decades/while living back east.) I had no idea of the depth of her talent. This museum has a wonderful collection & the timeline room (of her life) & documentary added a wonderfulness to the visit. Yes, not ALL her work is here and many of her "iconic" pieces are "missing" but this museum beautifully lays out what an amazing artist, environmentalist, feminist and pioneer she was.
A woman who was true to herself when it wasn't popular. Excellent tour app.
A very well curated museum. We loved the dialogue between the Georgia O'Keeffe works and the Kevin Price works. Really lovely testament to a wonderful artist.
A delightful journey back to Georgia O'Keefe 's beginnings and throughout her life in NY and NM. A gift to us all.
My husband and I are not art experts by any means. We knew of O'Keeffe, of course, but had never seen her works in person. Our tour of the Santa Fe museum was an eye opener. Everything from her paintings to the display of her artist materials was mesmerizing. It was an adventure to learn more about her personally. I returned home ready to hang up anything and everything of Georgia O'Keeffe. I'm still working on it!
The museum is not free but it is worth the price of admission. You are definitely going to learn more about Georgia then you realized existed, at least I did. There is an app that you can download and tells you more about each exhibit. This includes everything from items she had on her Ranch to drawings to pictures and videos. This is definitely worth walking to if you are visiting Santa Fe!
Most of her best known works are elsewhere but comprehensive overview of her work and great self guided smartphone app...bring earbuds!!
Wonderful to see an artist's work and growth through a lifetime.
Wonderful collection of her work. Security staff is very friendly and helpful.
If you like art, this is one place you don't want to miss. Well curated, well presented and very complete.
A must see when your in Santa Fe! I spent 2 hours there & came back after lunch. Helpful staff & not at all crowded like some museums. All inspiring art work from a twentieth century legend. Afternoon is a better time to visit then mornings.
Fantastic collection, spanning her career. Also, a gallery of photographs of Georgia. An absolute must go in Santa Fe. Would recommend to Literally anyone who goes to the city. Georgia O'Keeffe is a master, and some of her most beautiful works are right here. Her art is also spread across the city, so make sure to ask museum staff where to head next to continue your tour of Georgia O'Keeffe.
Good way to spend about an hour or two in Santa Fe. Great collection of O O'Keeffe's pieces and learn about her career. Price of admission was a little more than expected, but still worth the experience. Highly recommend if you are doing an extended stay in Santa Fe.
Georgia O'Keeffe is a national treasure, and this museum is an ode to her life and work. It is inspiring to look at Georgia's oeuvre since it spans so many artistic genres and defies categorization. This museum has loving collected most of Georgia O'Keeffe's works - from new mexico landscapes to abstract impressionist paintings. Do spend an afternoon at this place when you visit Santa Fe.
The exhibits were very good but some of the staff was downright rude, on more than one occasion I was looked down upon (I am actually very well versed in Georgia O'Keefe), I guess my look didn't fit the profile, also, the person in the gift shop couldn't be bothered, instead just thrust a piece of paper into my hand when I asked about price and availability of a print. Parking is also scarce and expensive (not the museums fault. I recommend only if you really like G.O.
One of my favorite artists. Learned more about her.
The museum was smaller than expected but the website did a good job of letting you know which pieces you would and wouldn't see. Accommodating to children of all ages. If there is any complaint it is that the ticket price is a bit steep for the size of the museum and the time spent in it.
Small, but excellent museum of Georgia O'Keeffe's works. Well organized so you are able to see her artistic development.
Small lovely museum and gift shop
Lots of o'Keefe paintings. Great introductory video.
Very interesting museum. This place is one of the highlights of my summer in New Mexico.
Very nice and minimal cost of entry but doesn't have her most famous originals. It seemed these paintings were what was left over in her studio before she passed. Still worth browsing for art historians and fans.
Superbly curated collection of my favorite modern artist. Thoughtfully organized galleries, excellent lighting, and a great staff. (Especially the security staff - efficient and observant, but also friendly and knowledgeable about the art.) Loved the counterpoint of pieces by a "guest artist". My first experience with a self-guided tour app - every museum should do this, if only so one can view it again and again. Very good museum store - again, with attentive and educated staff.
This woman is one of my fave artists. The museum is easy to visit and many docents are available to answer questions. See the short film about her life and work because it helps you understand how her work changed over the years. You can take photos of most artworks too. Parking is a little dear so plan your time well.
I really enjoyed the museum. The artwork was great and very well organized. I also liked the orientation film that they had. It was basically a first person account of her career and life. That's kind of rare for a famous person, artist or otherwise
Very incredible museum. Ive seen different works after multiple visits and am always refreshed by o’keefs perspective on the world and life in it. Worth every penny and it’s easy to get through and fully immerse yourself in her work.
Enjoyable exhibits of Georgia O'keeffe's work and an informative video about her life. Worth a visit!
A trailblazer and amazing artist. This museum is a beautiful tribute to her
Wonderful place! Amazing staff. Very kind to our children. Provided the kids with drawing pads and pencils. Probably better to go without small children simply to have more time to appreciate the art, but security and front end staff were very kind to our children which made the visit that much nicer!
Not just a museum but a beautiful and enriching experience. O’Keeffe is a true treasure.
Very nice museum. Took maybe 45 min to see all the art. I would recommend watching the video they have playing there.
One of my favorite artists of all time I was like a kid in a candy store. I studied Georgia O'Keeffe for years on art history and I simply live the way she explored the ordinary and forced us to Take Time to Look...
Beautiful and well done museum. The downloaded app is great.
Very close to town square, the museum has great examples of her work throughout the various phases of her life.
Well done compilation of Georgia O'Keefe life's work from the early 1900's until her death in 1986.
This museum is a must see for any artist. Get inspiration with Georgia's vision, so advance for her time. She contributed in history, not only on the arts, but in civil rights too. I think the museum can expand more in what it offers to the public. Overall a very good experience.
Great place to learn the history of her life and her work. A must go if you're in the area.
Always love coming here. Representative of her whole life collection and insights into her inspiration. Such an artist, such a life. Nicely laid out, great gift shop.
I’ve always enjoyed The work of Georgia O’keefe, but didn’t know her story. This is an amazing collection that is very approachable. Seeing the works against the backdrop of where many were created adds to the magic. It’s a great space very near the plaza. Enjoy.
Fabulous & Breathtaking!
The video of her life was interesting, and the art display was very nice.
Very nice museum of art. Entry fee is reasonable for this quality of art. The facilities are well maintained and the art is well presented in each room. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended. Check it out.
Enjoyed seeing her paintings. I expected it to be bigger
An excellent video show on Ms O'Keefe's life, her paintings, and life story. We especially enjoyed the live presentation that discussed her works, including a valuable question and answer session from a knowledgeable docent.
Been a fan since my 2nd grade art teacher showed us copies of her work and taught us about her. It was a dream to see her work in person. Great birthday present. Even though security didn't seem to trust two dread heads and followed us a bit closer than others.
Such a pleasure to visit!! Saw some items never seen before out of private collections and got a great glimpse of some of her less known/shown items which I fell in love with!! Beautifully staged and curated!! Near plenty of other muaeums, marketa and eateries within walking distance. A Must see!!
Georgia 'O Keeffe is one of my favorite artists. I just wish they had a wider array of work.
Unfotunately not that many paintings, very good life line and video. Good shop.
Small but amazing museum on this beloved artist. Watch the video "In Her Own Words", very interesting and let you know so much about her
Small but informative, decent amount of works to view, and an in house movie about her.
Small but interesting. Some paintings I've not seen in other museums around the world.
One of my favs - great little gift shop too where I purchased a set of earrings that look like one of her prints... priceless.
Not quite the massive retrospective of her work I was expecting. Relatively small representation of her works, with good examples of progression through her career. Lot's of great pieces though and it definitely got my creative juices flowing. I left feeling, "Art will out itself".
Interesting facts about her life and art world. She was well received as a female in the early 1900's. If it wasnt for her husband, who knows how popular she may of been or her sister. Tour was very informative.
Fantastic. Great variety of works, spans her life. Calm, friendly museum. Reasonable amount of of no-flash photography.
The staff were welcoming to my whole family young and old, thanks for a wonderful experience.
Always a good place to go to see the range of work by one of santa fe's famous artist.
We bought tickets ahead of time and it happened to be a free day.. they reimbursed us no problem. Also they have an outdoor area and they were doing crafts for the kids which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. The artwork is your classic Georgia O'Keeffe going through her timeline and history and they had some really nice pieces it's not a big Museum
Oddly disappointing. O'Keefe's work is so iconic and embedded into Southwestern art lore that seeing many images en mass only serves to show how uninteresting many were. She, herself, is very interesting but you can watch her fans docs on Vimeo. Still, if you come here you will make up your own mind.
I love Georgia O’Keefe and it was a real pleasure to see some of her work right downtown in Santa Fe. Unfortunately someone should tell the Ask Me lady to refrain from trashing the governor or really any political conversation. Also most people don’t relate to killing during the Vietnam war with such glee.
We were looking for the Georgia O'Keeffe museum when someone stopped to help. It was the Docent of the museum on his way to work. Have always liked Georgia's work. Better to see it in person.
Art is great. They change out 2 to 3 times a year.
June 2019 ... all the galleries except for one were closed ( but admission was waived). The 14 minute film narrated by o’keefe reveals much about her and her work
If possible try and visit outside peak hours. I like to see a painting from a few steps away, close up, and from different angles but the popularity of this museum makes it quite difficult to step away without having another visitor getting in between you and the painting. The exhibit provides sufficient reading material to follow the artist's evolution and the short movie is a nice reminder of some highpoints. I liked the frame exhibition that documents her attention to detail. 98 years is a long time and much of her life is not presented or mentioned in the museum. Read a bit more before you go to get your imagination and speculations going.
Interesting exhibit of Ken Price another artist who lived in NM. Fun to see NY paintings even though the city wasn't her thing.
Very interesting small museum. Video of her life was nice and seeing some of her artwork was excellent.
I was excited to go and see all her awesome art. But I was disappointed. Nothing really grabbed me like I was expecting. But I'm glad I went
Beautiful collection with a number of paintings and sketches that I've never seen before. Wonderful history of her career and collaborations throughout the museum. Very well done and worth the fee.
Fantastic museum, though I'd like to see more of her work and the photos her husband took of her than the filter pieces by other artists.
Very interesting place. Learning about the life of O'Keefe was truly inspiring. Lots of spectacular artwork. My wife and I were very impressed by this museum. The video is worth watching all the way through and spending time looking at each painting is it's in reward after you have learned about how she changed her artwork throughout her life. Worth the money
Beautiful museum. Right around the corner from the plaza. Short video shares O'Keefe's life.
Excellent art museum to go see. Beautiful art!
Beautiful Museum celebrating her wonderful talent.
I’ve wanted to go here for years and finally got my chance
If you like Georgia O'Keeffe this place has many of her originals and it was fun to see her progression from the big city to the wide open landscapes of New Mexico. Do take time to check out the video in the beginning, it gives a good progression of her history, her early time, mid times and.. The staff was very nice, if in Santa Fe this is a good visit. Parking can be difficult.
Lovely museum with a great restaurant in a lovely setting.
This museum does a GREAT job at showing you her life and how she progressed in her art. I highly recommend seeing the movie first before seeing the movie as it will give you a much better appreciation to her work and progression. Her work is just amazing and there is so much of it in the museum.
Great museum for lovers of Georgia O'Keefe's work. They have a fantastic collection, and also have lots of great background materiel including early sketches for some of the pieces on display. Start with the fifteen minute movie. It is really interesting to hear from Georgia directly before you begin the tour. Total visit was just over an hour to comfortably see everything.
She is a terrific artist. However, the cost to get into view her work, was a little much for us.
Unfortunately I need to return to this museum as much of it is under reconstruction and renovation. Beautiful paintings from one of the state's incredibly talented artists.
Wanted to go here for years and not disappointed. Great activities for kids, too.
Excellent representation of her finest works! Highly recommend
Beautiful experience. We visited on a fall Friday morning and it was pretty busy. Your ticket receipt will allow you re-entry the entire day if you want to return. We enjoyed seeing her Art.
Small but nicely laid out collection. We appreciated the free lockers and that kids under 18 got free admission. The contemporary art exhibit that was displayed alongside the main collection was interesting and a good complement to the work. Definitely watch the movie at the end, with a compilation of interviews with the artist.
I love her art and the collection plus video are excellent
Very nice, I wish there was more. They need a bigger gift shoppe.
Wonderful museum dedicated to Georgia O'Keeffe's life and artwork. I enjoyed learning more about the artist as much as I enjoyed seeing her art. Also interesting to see how her technique and style changed through the years.
A quick stop but well worth it for a classic example of American Modernism.
The Georgia O'keefe Museum was a awsome place to see in Santa Fe New Mexico. Her work was groundbreaking.
Very interesting and lovely museum. A very good representation of her work on display, with a lot of her history. Enjoyed it very much. Only problem was finding parking.
Other than being way too busy I really enjoyed this collection. The museum was just the right size to feel like you could spend time to really enjoy your favorite pieces and read all the information, without it being overwhelming. Beautifully organized and curated.
If you love me and know art this is bucket list stuff
A bit smaller than expected but nice. All available exhibits are on 1st floor. Expected time there at least 1 hr to see available art. Guest artist changes again at end of October.
Art work was beautiful but staff didn't seem very friendly. Gift shop was too crowded and staff seemed frantic......had items to purchase and put them back....I'll order online instead.
Have loved her artwork for a long time and was so happy to see it in person. The staff did a great job of explaining her works
Georgia, oh sweet Georgia! I was born in Amarillo,TX and feed a healthy diet of Mrs. O'KEEFE's work. This a must stop for anyone into Southwestern art! Get off your phones and go get some culture. This lady was the best female of her generation.
Great information and exhibit! Not a lot of parking though...
Great to visit, important for their scholarship also, but go to NYC to see her more famous masterpieces. If you're in Santa Fe, you might consider also visiting Ghost Ranch and Abiquiu, NM to see her houses and the landscapes she painted. I believe the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum exclusively does the tours of her two homes, but on Ghost Ranch they have a landscape tour of where she painted. You can also get up there on a day tour from Old Santa Fe Tours.
What a small charming museum dedicated to one artist.... Wisconsin artist Georgia O'Keeffe. I saw so many wonderful works of art up close. They say she made the painting of clouds hanging the Chicago Art Museum with the idea that would have to hang in a huge space. The artworks here are much smaller and more intimate you will enjoy interacting with them.
love her work and independent spirit.
Stunning exhibit that represents her art and her life. Just as interesting as her art is the history associated with her journey that you learn about as well. Located in the heart of Santa Fe. Definitely worth a visit.
Heavenly. Wonderful to see so many of Georgia's paintings.
Accessible abstraction, what a concept! The film introduction narrated by audio clips from the artist was excellent.
You get an overall view of ghe life and work of Ms. O'Keefe. I love her paintings.
Great place for her art work & her life
I love the work of this artist so I'm a little biased. I only wish there was more on display at any one time.
Opened my eyes to the world of O'Keeffe! Definitely worth visiting if you're a fan of modern art.
Wonderful always wanted to go finally got to
The short film in her own words really tied everything together. Parking in the area was not easy though.
Very interesting. Made me really appreciate Georgia O'Keeffe.
Good museum and only place to see so many OKeefes. Takes 1hr plus to visit. Nice shop.
Enjoyed learning about the artists and her work.
It a wow. Top shelf
Great little museum, learned so much about her!
She was a fascinating woman and her art is wonderful
So nice for the people of New Mexico to have established this museum to showcase the works of a local artist and a famous daughter. Choosing to put up the museum in this locale seems to be a wise choice, and it would seem that the artist herself would have wanted it the way it is.
This is a fantastic little museum that showcases O'Keefe's evolution as an artist. While her most famous paintings are housed in other museums, this one does have a great range of representative works. I would call this a can't miss if you are in Santa Fe and have any interest in one of the great artists of the 20th Century.
Quaint, lovely, and almost otherworldly collection from the legendary painter, Georgia O'Keefe. Only small bags permitted and must be worn in front to avoid hitting works of art. Coat and bag check available. Museum store is well equipped with prints, books, etc. Definitely worth a visit while exploring the charming Santa Fe.
Amazing. Don't miss the movie.
Unfortunately I had a breathing issue. I noticed dehumidifiers in each of the galleries and I asked a guard what was up with them, because there seemed to be a correlation with my inability to breath ( I used to run; dont now because of my knees)- I dont normally have breathing problems). Guard said the air exchanger was not working and I knew then that I needed to get out of there. Attendance was busy, rooms crowded....no air exchanger. If I wasnt so distressed I would have asked for a refund. I think it should be illegal to open a public facility when HVAC system is down.....it probably is. Really- what qere you thinking?
Museum was great. Don't miss the video. Awesome.
One of the greatest American artist to ever put a brush to a canvas! Many of O'keeffe's best works are on display in all their glory!
We loved the mini film documentary about Georgia O'Keeffe. Although I wish there were a few more paintings the gift shop had some very nice items at a reasonable prices
Wonderful! We love her art & story!
Beautiful collection. Some works I did not know. Well worth it
museum provided an immersive experience into the life and work of a very talented and inspiring woman. street parking was crowded and the lot was $15 (I believe) so leave time/money for that.
Went with sister and we were impressed by this artist.
It's got great examples of her works. It's smallish, but a great way to spend an hour or two, especially if you like O'Keefe's work.
Amazing! Examples of her art starting all the way back in 1915. Candid photos and clips of interviews give you a sense of who she was.
Beautiful space. We visited 8/5/19 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were greeted warmly and were given details about the museum. A fourteen minute video on Ms O’Keeffe runs continuously near the entrance. We were approached by two different docents who offered their services and answered questions. The works of Ken Price were also on display. A nice gift shop is opposite the admission desk offers many lovely selections. Highly recommend.
Fantastic! Absolutely inspiring! Just beautiful!
Amazing history of such a historic figure! Remember your own headphones and download the free mobile app to take the free audio/video tour. Loved the staff giving tours and engaging kids with art!
Art may be notable because she is an American icon, but it was boring and uninspiring. Definitely not worth the admission price. Especially with all the free galleries in Santa Fe.
Wonderful museum. The collection is nicely curated, as it contains a lot of useful information that is coordinated with the way the paintings are exhibited.
Beautiful! Love her art work. Perfectly diplayed. Could have stayed for hours admiring her artwork
They remodeled the entire museum and added many more of her paintings. There's also a wonderful movie narrated by Georgia O'Keefe. It is a wonderful place!
So beautiful and inspiring that I cried
Make sure to watch the video when you enter. It helps you to enjoy the art you are about to see. Entry price a little high for this small of a display.
Awesome collection of O'Keefe's work and life. It's a must if you are in Sante Fe.
The day we were there it was packed. We did get to see all the exhibits. Glad we decided to go.
Very interesting video of her life.
A great museum to learn about the artist, even if you already think you know what she's about.
Very small but nice.
She is my absolute favorite artist. You have to watch the documentary on her. Gift shop was very nice
It's a must-see if you're in Santa Fe. It's rather small, but interesting and informative. Also available are the grounds of an old home used as administrative offices a half-block away.
I love the pairing of other artists work with the ever-changing selection of O'Keeffe's.
This a a superb museum highlighting a very important American artist. The works chosen for display are far ranging and beautiful. The movie is a must to get the best flavor of her works. This is a destination museum and merits returning to many times.
I studied a little art in college but Georgia O'Keefe's life was bigger than I remember. The museum tries to put into perspective how much of a trail blazer she was with abstraction and does a great job putting her story up against everything else going on in the world.
