Medium sized parking lot. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Many displays of yesteryear. For example: A large assortment of Colt guns, trains, airplane engines, and early 20th century textile machinery....

A surprisingly cute and well put together local museum. I really enjoyed the Native American and textiles displays. While it’s a small museum, there’s a lot of neat things to check out, from machinery to gemstones, there’s something for everyone. They could use some ac, but it’s a small enough museum that it’s bearable.

Candice Byrne

Wow! After visiting the Great Falls, my triplets, my mom, and I ventured down the street to this museum. Chock full of history and beautiful items. And free!!! The doors on Spruce St were open so we entered and the first thing we see is a huge airplane propeller. Everything is very well organized and labeled.

John Holland's first functional submarine ... Curtis-Wright (like Wilbur & Orville) and the birth of aviation ... Hamilton! ... the indigenous peoples ... Hinchcliffe Stadium ... Abbot & Paterson's own Lou Costello ... punch card textile manufacture that foreshadows the computer age ... and more. Much, much more.

Not to travel especially, only if you go to see the falls should enter (Original) נחמד, מוזיאון קטן שמשקף את ההיסטוריה של המקום מוצגים מגניבים. לא לנסוע במיוחד, רק אם נוסעים לראות את המפלים כדאי להיכנס

Great local museum with plenty of interesting exhibits. Located in the historic Roger's Locomotive Works there are exhibits covering the city of Paterson and its rise as the first United States city of the Industrial Revolution. They outline the growth from its role in the Revolutionary War and its becoming a powerhouse in the Civil War era.

A lot of history randomly packed into a very cool industrial building. Worth a stop, especially for the trains out front and the submarines inside. The restrooms were appalling.

Lovely museum with lots of history from the great silk city paterson. This museum has a couple of mini exhibits that are worth seeing they also have a submarine and a plane engine which i think is super cool best of all the entry to the museum is total free they just ask for a donation. Also this museum is two streets away from the paterson great falls.

I didn't make the tour so had to wander around without guidance. I think the display could've been organised chronologically to make it easier for wanderers to understand the significance of the different eras.

Good place a lot of history in there

This place is a little gem. It isn't large, but it is packed with interesting historical exhibits and items showcasing the fascinating back story on Paterson. There is a little something for most nerds - trains, industry, military, guns, vintage medicine, Founding Fathers, etc. There are 2 locomotives parked outside! It is located one block from the Great Falls park, so this could be a nice afternoon break from walking around the falls. There was no air conditioning, though, so it was a little warm inside. Plus side, no crowds. It was free to enter, suggested donation $2 per adult.

Lizbeth Aguilar

The receptionist was awesome. (Glenn) Museum gives a little snapshot of the rise of the city of Paterson, without being too overwhelming. Absent is the labor history and some other cultural histories though.

Donation based entrance fee. Small but very informative and interesting history of Paterson. Inside of a famous former steam locomotive plant. Steam engine 226 outside of the museum has such rich, interesting history. Find out inside the museum.

Isanuk Barry

nice little museum that is heavy on artifacts from its industrial days. Also the sub holland and railroad items. However for a history museum it is curious that it leaves out the labor strife, race riots, hurricane carter ,etc. They have costello but not allen ginsburg. .Seems to be a bit of selective memory.

Luis Canelo

Having been raised in New Jersey, my husband and I decided to go here and see what could possibly be here. To our surprise this place was a delight and it should be a great place to take the kids to learn a little bit about the area.

Amil R. Lima

Nice place to walk around

It's a nice little Museum I learned things about Paterson that I didn't know. There is a suggested $2 donation but museum is free and so is the parking, how can you go wrong? I think it's a good place to bring children and they would be reasonably interested. It took me less than an hour to go through all the exhibits so the kids shouldn't get bored.

David Irizarry

Nice local museum in Paterson by the Paterson Falls. It is mainly about the industrial history of Paterson. The best part is that it's free.

The Paterson Museum is unique with various exhibts spanning from the native american era all the way throughout to modern times. The museum has amazing arts of work and its historical contents of places that are still standing help to visualize how Paterson was back then.
