If you're aiming to get into the history of the New Jersey National Guard than this is the place to do it. They have a decent amount of replicas and artifacts. They were adding a new section when I went through, and they have the "Inteligent Whale" sequestered in the back area. Maybe if you're polite you might get to see it!

Interesting...well worth going there! A little gem of a museum devoted to describing the history of the Militia/National Guard in New Jersey. Displays and dioramas put together primarily by a corps of devoted volunteers contain many artifacts contributed or loaned to the museum by former Service Members or their families. Do not miss the 18 ton Civil War era submarine that is on display in one of the back rooms...realky fascinating!

What a fascinating place to visit as a day trip . Whether you want to visit on your own for educational research or take your family . It’s definitely a great experience and a hidden gem ! Overall the facility is clean and very well maintained. I was able to get a little tour by an intern which was so knowledgeable . I will be visiting again !!!!!

Sea Girt has an excellent history of the Guard. Always love going over , they have static display of F4 Phantom , Chopper. Tanks and other jets and vehicals

Awesome place! This museum is perfect for that rainy day at the shore. Has a huge selection of artifacts from uniforms to a civil war era submarine.

A very nice visit. I was given a personal tour by a National Guard captain. She was very knowledgeable. Cool antique airplanes, helicopters, and planes outside of the museum. Captain Amelia was great.

I was working at a PHA event for the Army National Guard . We set up in the museum for checking in, waiting and checking out of one of the medical stations. Everyone in the military was very nice and welcoming.

Amazing momentos since the Essex Troop got called to war. Veterans should take advantage of the Veterans Oral History project to add their eyewitness accounts to the o#social record of the historic struggles of their time.

Needs work and updates. The State should be more instrumental in the conservation of those who've served and the history for those serving.

Putting up a 50th Armored exhibit together now. Cool seeing items back to the time of the Lenape. The museum should only get better as the new exhibits are put rogether
