My first time visiting Morven. Wow!!! What a beautiful and historical home. Guide was extremely knowledgable and well versed on home. I so loved the brick garden wall. I am going to post my favorite politcal saying written on wall.

Cute little place. Nice way to kill an hour in Princeton. They are adding an addition, so I will definitely go back. The little shop was nice. We usually dont buy things from shops but they had some really nice pillows, bracelets and other stuff for the house that I needed.

he mansion was originally built by Richard Stockton who was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Later the mansion was used as the Governor’s mansion and eventually turned into a museum. We went on a docent led tour, and the informative guide told us about the history of the mansion as well as answering our questions.

Very informative tour. Loved our visit

We visited during the middle of the week, so only had a small group for the tour. The docent was knowledgeable, entertaining, and interesting. The house is only staged for the 18th-19th century in one room, so the information provided is the best part. The upstairs is an art gallery which currently contains works by Newark artists. As our visit occurred in the fall, the gardens were sparse with blooms, but still appealing. There is a small gift shop as well.

This is a beautiful house. It used to be the governor's mansion and now you can take tours through it. It is currently under some external construction but is fully operational. There is also a cute gift shop! They had a special exhibit on the higher floor about New York at and culture, which is included in admission.

Love love love this place!! I’ve been here a few times. Once on a field trip with my daughter’s class, and once at Christmas to see the Christmas trees all decorated, and to ultimately visit Santa. They have an afternoon tea here as well which I am hoping to do one day. This year I went to their July 4th event which was simply amazing! They had an area where kids could “sign” the Declaration of Independence, as well as a reading of the Declaration of Independence! They have many stations for kids, including a painting station, one for arts n crafts, and a photo booth.

Wikipedia promotes this museum as having a great collection of early American decorative arts. Nothing could be further from the truth. In total, I would say that there were less than 10 items to even gaze upon. Those items were certainly not of superior quality. I wasted $8.

It was nice. they have many christmas trees decorated in different ways and they even give small tours for that. The house itself looked somewhat old and restored. The only problem is when I went there, The main door was closed and there were no signs that says that you have to go from back door! I do not know if it is permanent or temporary but we took around 15-20 mins just to find out entry place of the place.

Morven Museum & Gardens is a real "gem" in NJ. We hosted a corporate event on May 29th 2015 & the venue is absolutely beautiful. The historical significance of Morven is very interesting & fascinating. All the staff we had contact with were very professional, courteous & helpful. Also Diana Griffin who handles the private events at Morven was terrific. She went above & beyond making sure everything was in order & perfect for our group. I have arranged many events over 35 years & i can unequivocally say the Diana was simply the best !!!.

A nice museum in a colonial period house. Good place to visit if you are interested in local history or the Revolutionary War. I would recommend taking the tour as the guides are friendly and knowledgable. But you are also able to explore the house yourself and there are plenty of displays that will walk you through the history.

A beautiful and charming place, but the day of our corporate event they put a huge tent up in front for a wedding. This really turned me off because they didn't disclose to us beforehand that there would be a huge tent up during our event, and even though logistically the tent didn't bother us at all (our event was indoors) I felt it ruined the initial impression - many people were seeing Morven for the first time - of the beautiful venue we had picked for our party. If I had known, I would have re-thought having the party on that day or at Morven.

Very interesting. A bit small so I think it should've been $5-8 not $10. Lingering it took about 1 hour. Princeton is a lovely town but keep in mind that many places close at 4pm.

Great collection, but you have to check to make sure there are tours. I would give 5 stars if it was easier to find the entrance.
