M.A.M. (Museum Art Museum) is a hidden gem. The Yard School of Art offers programs for children and adults. The exhibits are surprisingly fresh and change up a bit. The museum is small. Unlike some of the larger institutions in the NYC metro area, it can be walked through in 2 hours or less.

Not many art piece at exhibition. It's more of a event hall rental facility. 2 story only. Some hands-on educational programes might worth trying.

Free First Thursday Nights are the best. It's a nice, fun, relaxing atmosphere, and its especially great when the Empanada Guys come. I've not been during regular hours, but the exhibits are interesting and during First Thursdays there are so many activities to get involved in. It's just unfortunate that I can never get there before 7, because of work, so I miss a lot of the good activities happening before then.

Dissapointed that the majority of the exhibitions were closed for renovations until September 16, 2017. However, I may give more stars if renovations had been completed.

Nice small museum with programs for kids and adults. The summer camp for kids is a legit way to get little people exposed to pro artists. Art in Montclair!

My first time visiting; what a lovely, friendly place! Matisse exhibit was illuminating. Will definitely be returning soon with my husband.

I went here with my kids today and it was a horrible experience, not because our kids were badly behaved but because the staff there were very harshly behaving to the kids and in general very rude. I personally heard one staff member rebuking the kids saying they were being ridiculous when the kids were only five. I also witnessed one of the security members pushing a kid causing him to fall just because he was standing too close to a painting. Horribly mannered staff.

This is where i come to have peace of mind. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They also have alot of pottery and art classes. I highly recommend the art class hosted by terri bertolo. She is a great teacher. She has definitely enhanced my ability to draw live models. Class is reasonably priced and she always snacks for the guests.
