Amazing childrens program & wing

Wonderful place for young children. They can learn and have fun at the same time. Highly recommend

Luci TheCat

This is a small local museum catering to locals with small children. There are two rooms featuring two contemporary artists. The experience is not museum like, no quiet enjoyment due to ongoing shouting of small children. Honestly it was not helpful for patrons quiet enjoyment to hear the consistently loud conversations between the young receptionist and museum host (guessing he thought the children were Ok on their own and he'd rather chat up the pretty girl). Not worth the drive or $8 admission, should be more appropriately marketed as a children's indoor educational playground.

A hidden gem. A must see, especially for art exhibits

I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and quality of work by many artists. We are personal friends of one of the artists. I'm going to post a few pictures. Hearing the artists speak about their work really makes their work come alive.

Steve Rumsby

Great child friendly indoor activities for those bad weather days. Indoor playground for the little ones, science exhibits for pre teens, and an art studio good for all art inclined kids.

What a quaint museum for a casual kids outing! The play area is so great for little kids under 6. But the best part hands down, is the surprise craft room!!! WOW..so clean and organized!! The kids get to use all the supplies and make their own piece of artwork for the price of the museum admission! If I lived closer I would be a volunteer hands down to the staff and whomever maintains and donates to the museum!!! LOVED

It's got a really cool children's area called the wonder wing. My almost 2 year old loves it

I will not be returning. On the day I went all but the one children's section was closed. I was charged $16 for myself and my son to play there. If I am unable to see exhibits throughout the museum, why should they charge me? Ridiculous that I had to pay $8 to simply supervise my child in the only open area. On top of that, the childrens play area was extremely outdated and there were rules upon rules: no shouting, no running, no moving toys from certain areas. At that point, why bring your kid if you have to monitor their every move and they can't really be kids. The rope bridge was like a death trap for anyone under 8. Next time I'll go to a local indoor play place and pay just $10 for more fun and newer toys.

Great museum lots to do for kids

Wish I had made this trip sooner. My son loves it and keeps begging to come back. Everyone who works there is great. Super friendly and helpful.

Patrick Durek

Go for the Guinness collection! Dozens of antique music boxes of all shapes and sizes, and the most intricate musical automata. There's plenty more at this museum, but really worth going to for the Guinness collection alone.

Fun for the kids. Art exhibits for the adults. Good time for everyone. We spent about 3 hours there as a family.

Current exhibition is Woodstock at 50. Cute display of posters, albums and photos of the late 60's. Some videos and other artifacts round out the experience. You can buy blacklight posters and tie dyed shirts.

Mindy Kim

Great for kids, but they need to keep facilities clean and have a sign that sick kids will not be allowed in as my kid keeps getting a cold when he goes there! Also, the place needs to cordon off a section of the musuem so kids can eat. Currently, theres no place for kids to even have a snack/drink, yet they cater to kids. They said they're planning on creating it but can do it now but cordoning off a small section so kids can eat/drink.

Joanne Buono

The children would stay all day of I would let them. There is a room for dmsller children and smoother for older ones. Also there is a craft room you can make whatever you want They that material, toilet paper dowels, markers, paint, styrofoam circles and glue just to name a few that I can think of. It is just a nice and different place to take the children.

Jade Cahill

Fun sensory area for lil ones.

A very meaningful and fond memory from my childhood. The exhibit is arranged such that attractions and activities for younger children are front and center, thereby encouraging playing and exploring to transition into learning, and experiencing more mature art pieces. A great place to spend a rainy day.

This us an intimate space, low-key without being dull, frequently showcasing local and not-so-lical artists. Recommended.

It features a cute play place for small children while showcasing the work of local artists. The play area was clean and the children enjoyed playing there. The art works are enjoyable to view and showcased a considerable amount of skill and talent.

Excellent place to take the kids on a rainy day.

Very disappointing experience. I thought it was Museum of Monmouth County history. Turns out there are two rooms that are for art. This art is for sale and yet they charge me $8 to get in. There is a children section which seems to be very popular. So if you have children it might be worth the visit.

Recently visited here for the Woodstock exhibit. Really impressed with the collection of photographs, memorabilia, posters and other time-specific decor that they had on display. The photography especially was really spectacular. Gift shop also had some decent items and prices were reasonable. Staff was very friendly and gave us some great insight into the current and future exhibits.

Alyssa Rose

Very nice if you have young kids or older children. There are two play areas to accommodate all age groups. With interesting hands on fun. My only complaint is, they don’t allow strollers in the play area and i have infant twins and a 4 year old. It was difficult carrying both babies and watching my older one. There is a small seating area but if it’s busy not all the parents have a place to sit.

Jeffrey Jones

Great model railroad set up. Food exhibit using painting, photos and mixed media. Some will bring a smile to anyone's face. Awesome museum for children

Half of the kids part of the museum doesn't open until 2. So it's a good idea that if you're bringing your children to just wait until 2 p.m. to go. Also in the art gallery they have these QR codes next to paintings for this LizenUp app, and you're supposed to use the app to scan the codes to hear the story behind the painting. But the app did not work for me.

Beautiful place to spend whole day with kids

Costs $8 per person. Doesn't make sense to charge for adults since it's only for kids. They make the employees tell the kids that they can't run and must be quiet. Guess they never dealt with toddlers before.

Nice place to bring the little ones. Has an arts and crafts room and a large room set up with a large boat the kids can climb all over. Some areas of the place are a bit outdated and could use a bit of sprucing up.

Ryan Stark

Small, good for kids

Carlos Luis

Lame museum. Lame employees. Not a place meant for kids. The dude that does the planetarium speech needs a course on small children. You can’t threaten 1st graders. Bathrooms were gross, sinks were overflowing. Smelled like cigarettes in the back bathroom. Will never go back here again.

Teresa Zaki

My kids had a great time going through the exhibits, which include a train display, and Egyptian mummy. The artwork is linked to an app, so you can hear the artist describe their work. The kids also got to play weather reporting and write their names in hieroglyphics. Very cool!

A must for all residents of Monmouth County! Eclectic features....even awonderful children's wing.

Roberto Nieves

This is a wonderful place for children, between the ages of 2-10 years. The museum contains two wings filled with activities for children. The WonderWing is an underwater-themed playground for children 6 and under. Becker Wing is designed for children 6 and over, complete with a space area, weather station, Arts Studio, movie room , and more. Guests and their children are allowed in both area, regardless if age. The museum hosts tours, school groups, and specific activies throughout the week. The museum also has a donation library for the community to use. In addition, the museum hosts two art galleries for adult visitors to see. Finally, the museum has a Facebook, Instagram , and Twitter page for guests to follow.

This place is perfect for rainy days! It can get pretty crowded on weekends. Staff is friendly and bathrooms have changing tables. You can buy a household yearly pass which pays off if you go a couple of times. There are several play areas and a crafting and puzzle area. Probably best for kids 1-6 years old. There's another area in the museum for older kids.

Really great place for families with small kids. It has a play room and a museum section.

Soooo worth it!!! My (almost) 3yr old daughter LOVED IT. Especially the wonder wing. She never wanted to leave the wonder wing. The only thing I have to say about the kids wonder wing room- is the slide off the pirate ship is SOOOOO crazy fast & almost every time my daughter (& the other kids there) went down it, they either hit their heads or fell to the ground. The Becker wing was awesome!! Me, my mother & brother enjoyed it allot, my daughter was a little afraid of the loud sounds of the helicopter and a little scared in the stormy tornado walkthrough but other than that we all had a blast and we'll definitely be coming back again and recommending this place to all of my friends and family.
