REVIEWS OF Grounds For Sculpture IN New Jersey

It was ok. U need have maps at toll both. Not have to go looking for them. Would you like to buy a map. Thank you

A beautiful inspiring place to stroll or relax and gaze upon amazing sculptures! What an experience for anyone that enjoys the fine things in life. Dine at the Rats restaurant and meander.

Leslie Beres

Excellent outdoor venue featuring sculptures. Beautiful grounds. A great place to walk around. Photo opportunities abound.

Laurice Grae-Hauck

This is truly one of New Jersey's finest treasures. You could spend several days here and be delighted the whole time. Art usually makes me feel stupid, coming from a poor upbringing, but not here.

Maryrose Marrale

Beautiful place, permanent and revolving installations. The landscaping and flowers are so lovely and the placement is so well done. There are a few cafes and a restaurants. The paths curve gently so you are always discovering something new!

Brian Estremera

Great place for a first date or just a fun outting. The sculptures are interesting and unique, and offer lots to take pictures of and talk about. The grounds are well kept, clean, and are large enough to spend several hours walking. Sculptures are changed out occasionally, and come in many sizes. There are several bathrooms on site, but they are sparse. Very clean, at least the men's room was. There is a cafeteria in the main building serving simple sandwiches, water, and coffee. Attached to the grounds is the Rats, a farm-to-table restaurant offering amazing food albeit pricey. Can be accessed from the grounds. Reservations are a must.

Tenaj RPW

Overall a good spot to check out. Getting in is a bit of a wait which explains why u can be an hour late on pre-purchased timed tickets. Lots of walking, but poor signage for rest rooms.

James Mandala

Spectacular parklike setting with amazing modern sculptures tucked into a lovely landscape. A lot of variety in the pieces. There is a whimsical collection of Seward Johnson's lifelike sculptures, many of which are 3 dimensional copies of famous paintings - especially impressionist works - scattered through the grounds. Well worth a visit. Light dining options as well as Rat's Restaurant which is highly rated for meals.

Jason Libin

Huge grounds with amazing features, sculptures, and decor. We spent about 2 hours walking around but had to leave early. There is still about 1/3 of the park left undiscovered for my wife and I. Definitely recommend a good 4+ hours to see everything. Van Gogh Cafe, found near the entrance of the park, offered delicious sandwiches but at somewhat of a steep price. There is also an area called the gazebo Cafe, deeper in the park, that offers refreshments.

Vivian Schirripa

Wonderful sculpture gardens with tons to see. Everywhere you turn there will be something to view. I also enjoy the indoor exhibitions that the grounds puts on display. Great selection. Lastly, the cafe has awesome staff.

Bruce Smith

This is a fascinating site. A wide variety of sculptures set in a beautiful park setting. Very well-done.

Helen Lora

Great place to take out of town guests! The misters really helped keep us cool on a hot day. Staff were very nice:-)

chris depick

Great place. Could easily spend the day. Quite a bit of walking and staircases but worth it.

Akshay Dhamankar

An excellent park for a summer weekend. The park is HUMONGOUS (takes around 2-3 hours) and has a plethora of sculptures with a hall for rotating artwork. There are a lot of peacock's in the premises and a decent selection of food in the cafeteria, albeit a tag highly priced.

Oleg Somov

That's a very cool place! Great to being your kids. The place has many surprising installations, some of them have mysterious idea behind, and I think everyone will see something that sparkles your inside. I'd suggest dividing it into two visits and truly appreciate every installation. There are also amazing peacocks walking around, be careful, but they're pretty friendly.

Alex

It is a shame that so many people have never heard of this place before, because it is something special, unlike anything else, that must be experienced. It is mesmerizing, awe-inspiring, and simply gorgeous. Grounds for Sculpture is not just an exhibit or museum, it is an experience. The more one walks, the more one is bound to find. There is something to see at every turn or corner, from a man fishing or two people engrossed in conversation, to massive statues and beautiful lakes and vistas. The individual pieces are beautiful, big or small, lacking or filled, with detail. The layout of the place is also tremendous, as no matter which path one chooses to take, one will always find a way back to where one started. Guests are encouraged to search and explore, as many paths lead somewhere new where one may think nothing is in place, and instead there lies another statue or pathway. No one is there to tell guests what to do or where to go, there is freedom to explore, and that is one of the greatest things about this place, the ability to explore. To walk, climb, diverge from the main road, and just gaze at the beautiful statues that exist. That freedom comes with a certain sense of responsibility, to treat the Grounds with care and respect, and for as long as guests do just that, this special freedom will continue to exist. This place is certainly one that should be experienced, and I intend to visit again, because I will likely find something new when I return, and I have never seen something quite like it before.

Mohibba Fatima

I loved this place. I heard so much about it and rightly so. I would go there again. If you are interested in art go for 4-5 hours atleast so you can experience and explore the whole place.i would highly recommend it.

Atchi Sur

We love this place. Fantastic place to spend a day with family and/or friends. Great giant sculptures, unique artist exhibits and vast outdoor landscape. It takes about 6-7 hours to explore the whole park.

Bharanidharan Kuppusamy

It was a fantastic experience. You definitely need to walk a lot, so be prepared with water and right footwear. If you have kids, please note that most part of the area is not stroller friendly. Sculptures are inspiring, thought provoking and creative.

Mike Vasquez

Place is well maintained and has lots to see.. if you enjoy art and looking at different colored fish come and see this place. Second time coming down

Jodi Thompson

Delightful, whimsical, intriguing. Great for a stroll, conversation, or photography. We like taking out-of-town guests to GFS.

Partha Bagchi

As always, GFS never fails to provide endless hours of beautiful ambling through the various artistic endeavors. If you are in NJ, don't forget to visit. Where else can you see Monet's bridge and the American Gothic at the same place?

Christina Cleary

I love it here, but there should be an age limit. It's pretty hard to enjoy art when you hear babies crying and unattended 4 years old running around. Not enough parents understand it's not a playground.

Marleen Mabry

Visited just last week. A lovely time. I generally visit once a year and have done so for the last 6 years. Always a great day to spend the day outdoors and enjoy the talents of the artists.

Marilyn Gould

Loved it ❤️ So fantastic especially the Impressionist sculptures. The cafe was reasonably priced for a decent sandwich. Expect to spend at least 3hrs. Start with the free tour.

Nataliya Khoroshenko

Unbelievable experience! So worth going with anyone; kids or adults! It’s a great time.

Aditi Tandon

Absolutely wonderful place to spend the day! I took my parents and they enjoyed, though I do recommend availing the ride option for seniors 'cos it is a lot of walking. When we reached our car in the parking at the end of the day, I realized that I seemed to have dropped my car keys somewhere. Before we could get too frantic, we noticed a note on my windshield. Eric from Grounds of Sculpture had not only found my key, but also bothered to locate my car and leave a note to ask us to head to customer service reception and claim it. Thank you Eric and Grounds for Sculpture!

Jaime Brownell

This is a wonderful and great place to spend the day.. This place has over 40 acres and hundreds of sculptures throughout. There is so much to see here, it would take a couple of visits to see it all. It is fascinating to learn how this park came about. There are many unique, interesting and beautiful sculptures, including a few about the 9/11 terrorist attack. There was a lot of thought put into how the park was laid out. Lots of trees for shade, benches along the way for resting and numerous buildings with bathrooms and water fountains. This is also a handicapped friendly park. There is a restaurant called Rats on the grounds for those wanting a bite to eat, as well as a cafeteria style restaurant. Will be going back to see more of what I missed. Would have to describe this as secret in N.J.. I highly recommend a visit here.

Marie Coppola

Great day in sun! Celebrating grandparents day beautiful flowers and so many statues we only saw maybe half. Will return again to see more

Ralph Graham

Life like statues. Nice cafe. Helpful people.

Terry C.

Love this place. A whole days’ worth of venturing out and exploring. Great for adults and children.

kruti kothari

The best sculptural exhibit in an outdoor rustic setting. I know there is storm king that is famous in its own right but what grounds of sculpture gives you is a day to roam around in nature and see how sculptures react with everyday season, weather and ecological changes in a more relatable manner. An attractive getaway just an hour away from NYC and jersey city. Just see to it that you have lot of time on your hands when you visiting this place cause the space and art is exhaustively curated. I made the mistake of just going there at the end of the day and even 2 hrs were less. Can't wait to go again.

geoff steck

Have known it from the earliest days. It keeps getting better and better. The ever evolving landscaping in combination with the variety of sculptural art makes everywhere you gaze a pleasure.

Heejo Han

Make sure you have comfy shoes because there are so many things you will be watching and observing. Also make sure your phone has good battery because you will be taking a lot of pictures. Great atmosphere and a lot of unique displays. I really recommend bringing kids here because you will really drain out their energy haha if you have those energetic ones. It is really worth it to come here and I brought my whole family here after I just came here with my wife first.

Frank Bertrand

Very unique place with hundreds of well placed sculptures. There are little paths leading everywhere and some dont look passable, but there are exhibits there as well. It would take a month to see every sculpture.

Conrad Larson

There a ton of sculptures here, each one as interesting as the last. Very pleasant staff. It was a very relaxing experience and I enjoyed seeing the peacocks!

UTT Biostatistics

The grounds provide an interesting blend of rich art and a picnic type vibe. The narratives associated with many of the pieces is often awe inspiring. The people sculptures are captivating. You will love it if you are intrigued by art and love the outdoors

Stephen Lynch

Just an amazing space full of discovery. While the sculptures are the draw, the horticulture is the true star of the show. You could spend an eternity here just walking the grounds experiencing the environment. Great for all ages. Highly suggest a tour if you can swing it.

Deborah Eddy

It was absolutely beautiful! There's so much to see, plan to spend at least three or four hours, a little more if you grab a bite to eat. The weather was great and it worked out going later in the afternoon to avoid the hot sun. We were excited to go to Happy Hour at the Beer Garden (4-6:00) so we got admission tickets for 3:00. (We missed Happy Hour because we couldn't find the location on the grounds, next time.) Best to get your tickets online. Check with your local library for free museum tickets, some of them do have them before you buy (you can make a donation if you do get free tickets.)

Elena Prudovski

Just great! One of my favorite places to visit. Absolutely gorgeous grounds and landscaping, interesting and captivating sculptures and artwork. Can’t wait to go back in fall when the leaves turn colors. Make sure to buy your tickets online ahead of time, this will make your visit easier. On some occasions, if the park gets too crowded they don’t let people in.

Carole Goldman

What a great place to get your exercises and enjoy the outdoors. Entrance and welcome center so convenient. They now have many handicapped parking spots and gift shop. The grounds are kept so clean and the sculptures are outstanding. Trip good for all ages. Highly recommend visiting. Did not go to their restaurant but have heard good things about the service and food.

Euroatomic

Amazing place! A lot of paths in the woods are not very stroller friendly but that shouldn’t deter you if you’re coming here with one if you have to. You’ll be fine.

K H

This is a hidden gem in NJ. it's a great afternoon activity. You will need a few hours to really take it in. Be sure to get to the meadow, some awesome sculptures there. I won't ruin the surprise. Don't go at night though, the BUGS!

Amanda CC

Such marvelous tourist attraction!! And a well-kept secret didn't even know it was here! It's now one of my favorite places on Earth! totally love it!

Mohamed Yusuf

This Place was so spectacular, there were so many sculptures to see, and all were very unique. A lot of places to sit down and take a break, very open area, was not overcrowded at all. I went around 10:30am best time I think since the sun is not too hot but around 2pm it got really hot. So go early, they have a restaurant and a store, wear comfortable shoes because they will be a lot of walking and pace your self no need to rush

Jonathan Martin

A lot of neat sculptures to view. The only criticism I have is that some of the sculptures are mature. There are multiple nude sculptures including a 50 foot nude woman at the entrance. Going with smaller kids and young teens may not be a good idea. Otherwise a great sculpture part with some beautiful art.

Vicki Venturini-Massino

Fantastic! Amazing! Large! This place has been on my to do list for awhile! You get discounted admission for Sunday after 5pm, so I went. It was just awesome. Once is not enough to see it all. So, I bought a year’s membership. Going back often!

C. Dong

Book tickets online to avoid waiting plus $3 discount each ticket. Book by the hour and enter the area within 1 hour window. That is, if you book@10am, you need to enter before 11am the day of. This is a huge area, be prepared to walk comfortably. There are a couple restaurants and cafe and gift shop. Plan to stay at least 3 hours! Great place to visit with your whole family!

Jordan Ross

Very large and beautiful park full of interesting and unique sculptures. You could easily spend many hours here before seeing everything. Lots of the coolest stuff is tucked into tiny corners. Don't be afraid to follow small dirt paths.

Anand Singh

Serene, beautiful park with lots of unimaginable sculptures. Do plan to also visit Rat's pond having fabulous landscape including aquatic plants and fish. I was excited to see different varieties of flora and fauna. Kids love watching Peacocks near Orchard and mini waterfall near Rat's pond. Lot of walking required to cover different spots. I wish they had appropriate sign boards including direction (as I have to rely on PDF map downloaded on smartphone). Worth visiting for entire day.

Chuck Wilkins

What an amazing place. These photos capture just a small amount of what you will see. Sculptures of people, so real life you will mistake others for sculptures. There are the abstract and unnamed for you to ponder. There are inside areas that have exhibits that change. A small snack bar is available. Check the website for details of current and up coming exhibits. There is a fee to enter the grounds. Check for cost and availability. I find that before the Sun sets and dusk to be a great time. Some of the sculptures are in groves of Trees and Bamboo. There is low ground lighting to illuminate those art works. Not a place to be missed.

Kevin Walker

Pros are Beautiful views, interesting art work. Cons are food is way too expensive and not that good. Too much walking for me maybe great for people who like hiking

Nancy Cohen

We went on an extremely hot and humid day, so we couldn't see all of the grounds. It was an unusual & interesting way to display sculptures among flowers, waterfalls, trees, etc. I enjoyed the larger than life sculptures , and many of the "free form" ones where I could see them with my imagination. ,

Gill Bentley

Marvellous. About 200 Conceptual and naturalistic sculptures set in beautiful parkland that was once a racetrack. You can have a guided tour with art professor. Eat in the restaurant or Van Gogh cafe where you can see pictures of the development of the site by the founders and a sculpture of a seated man that was on site at the twin towers.

Jolynn Yurcho

Always a great day at GFS, so much to see and a great thing to do during a beautiful day. Love that they always add new stuff in to see makes going back worth it. Great for the community as well.

Marc Crabtree

For what it is, it is a great place. They have a one of a kind WTC memorial piece in the Visitor center. The property is beautiful and pretty big. Plan on being there a few hours if you are going to appreciate the art. Parents: Some of the statues have provocative poses and nudity. Be aware if it is something that concerns you.

Anna

The grounds are well kept and the sculptures were nice! I also really enjoyed one of their inside exhibits that experimented with both material and digital art. The attendant in the room was super helpful in guiding me through the exhibit as well as providing insightful information. I didn’t get a chance to try any of the food but they did have a few options to choose from! Adult price tickets are a little on the pricey side but not unreasonable...I definitely think it’s worth the money. :)

Rena Reali Urglavitch

A wealth of cultural awareness in New Jersey! Such a wonderful place to spend the day. The Peacock Cafe was so delicious. If you are lucky, you might be sharing a stroll with a few of feathered friends! The sculptures are so beautiful. Lovely to walk through the paths and marvel at such unique and unexpected art.

Lizz Sawyer

Very nice place to spend the day walking around. The landscape and scenery changes often from open fields to bamboo forests to concrete labyrinths, keeping it stimulating. There's super interesting pieces here and beautiful garden areas. Lots of places to sit and rest, some out in the open, and some hidden areas if you want to relax more privately. There are three casual eateries spread throughout and one fancy restaurant, so hunger and thirst aren't really an issue, meaning you can stay for a good couple hours and see a lot of stuff. They had a vegan option at the Peacock Cafe, which was a plus.

Nick T

Experience: 5/5 - Really an awesome place! The grounds are extremely well kept and the art and scenery are really a sight to see. Whether you want to go on a leisurely walk, go on a fantastic date, or book a wedding here, this is the place to do something outside. X-Factor: The price! Especially for students who are on a budget, go check this place out for only $10.

Sandy Otto

1st time visit and absolutely loved it!! Enjoyed the walk, the Sculptures, the peacocks, it was better than going to a museum, it was more like a museum brought outdoors, which made it unique! Will go definitely go again! Ate at the peacock cafe, food was good and loved the outdoor seating area. Next time want to go to Rat's!

Daniel Munyon

We used a pass from our library. This place is amazing. So much to see in a very relaxed setting. Highly recommended!

Jerry Stone

This place is awesome and highly recommended. Attended a 500+ person work event at this place and they crushed it. Everything worked out great. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks were excellent. Setup was great. Everyone had a great time. Event team and Catering team were awesome. Now need to go back and visit the sculptures outside since this was my first time there.

Caroline Fulachio

This is a very interesting place. You can walk in the park, in the middle of nature and trees and also appreciate the sculptures that are placed outdoors. The modern art in contrast to the nature creates a very interesting scenario.

Prateek Jain

Amazing place.. combine the experience with some event happening there and you will enjoy your day..

Carmen Calderon

I loved this place. The grounds is so beautiful and the noises coming from nature made the ambience more unique. The sculptures were very cool esp how and where they were placed. We didn't get a chance to visit the indoor exhibits, eat at the restaurants or visit the gift shop. But we will def come back. Highly recommend.

Amy Hemming

Nice place to spend an afternoon, we just meandered along discovering hidden sculptures along the way. The grounds are beautiful.

Michelle L

It was a very relaxing and interesting day trip. I wish we would have spent some more time here. It was peaceful and not very crowded. The grounds are very well tended. It is a large area to cover.

Sharon Joag

We’ve been members for about 5 years and it has been worth every penny!! Member only events are amazing!! And just being in the Park has become our way to regroup, and come together as a family!

Brendan Stanczyk

Extraordinary unlike anything I have experienced in a long time. Admission is 20.00 and well worth it. There are a few indoor areas to cool off. Bring walking shoes and a full day.

Stephen Rule1reboot

While there is a significant showing of John Seward Johnson's life like statues, there is an incredibly diverse set of art here. I would recommend a guided tour. Our guide made the tour even more interesting. They have a vehicle for guests with disabilities, but I would recommend reserving in advance as they do fill up quickly.

Pamela Carpenter

That's a very cool place! Great to being your kids. The place has many surprising installations, some of them have mysterious idea behind, and I think everyone will see something that sparkles your inside

Sean Henry Miller

Magical place. Art that invites you to interact with it. Beautiful. Imaginative. Accessible. Been coming here for 15 years. It's only grown more splendid.

mike LaValle

Great place to visit had a lot of fun hard to see everything in one day

Diane Van Liere

Beautiful grounds. Sculpture everywhere you look and surprises where you don't think to look. The sculpture related to 9/ 11 was the most meaningful.

F. K.

The larger-than-life sculptures spread around very large grounds are interesting to say the least. But the park is larger than it needs to be and can otherwise be visited in half the time it usually takes. They do offer a paper map at check-in, and you should take it. I depended on the interactive map and could not find my way. The grounds are marked by numbers that appear to be random. I am chair king this place as have-been-and-done place. We had a bit of difficulty finding our way into the park too.

Joe Pascucci

We spent an outstanding day walking around the Grounds for Sculpture. It was one piece of art after another. It has to be seen. I will definitely return. It was just great and I really don’t know what else to say about it. Try Rats Restaurant while you are there.

Nicholas DiMaria

Had a corporate event here as well as visited it on my own! It is beautifully kept and you can spend multiple hours here easily. I have heard the restaurant Rats is very good as well.

Bill R

Definitely add to your "must see" list. You should go not only for the many wonderful sculptures, but the grounds themselves are breathtaking. You won't be disappointed. You can save a few dollars if you buy your ticket online before you get there.

Jennifer Mason

Such an unusual & fun place. Was fascinating to walk around and see all the different sculptures. When you turned a corner, you had no idea what was in store for you. Very cool place, not too far out of the way. A great place for photos!

Greyson Ford

You’ll have to visit more than once to absorb everything. Awesome place to spend an afternoon.

Alex Mishkovsky

Hot on summer days!!! Lots of new pieces in niche garden/woodsy settings since my last visit over 5 years ago. Some buildings are air conditioned but 95% of the works are outside. $20 adults/$17 seniors.

John Smith

Lots of interesting sculptures, lots of outdoor walking AND peacocks. Can't go wrong with that combo. It's a good way to spend an afternoon....take in some art while walking around in the fresh air, check out huge colored carp in their ponds and finish it all off with a meal at Rat's restaurant which is also on the grounds. My girlfriend and I went on a colder day but were pleasantly surprised with the heating hut in the center of the grounds. Some of the sculptures were pretty great while others left me scratching my head but all in all it was a fun trip. Did I mention, there are tons of peacocks just walking around?

Jennifer Browns Millionaire

I think this is an interesting place and the art is pretty cool but I just can't understand why the employees at the counter at the cafe are so unfriendly. They won't make eye contact, never smile and make you feel like they hate you.

Christine Bishop

Such a fun and relaxing way to spend a beautiful fall day outside! Definitely coming back again to walk the grounds and picnic.

Steve Mccarty

One on my favorite places to go NJ. The art work is fantastic. The grounds are beautifully kept, with wonderful colors and varieties. Truly a gem in the center of New Jersey. Originally this review was 5 Stars but after a ham sandwich, bag of chips, bottle of water and a can of Sprite was $20 dollars they lost a star

Michael Bradley

A great place to spend a day in nature to wander the grounds and see some wonderful very large sculptures created by some great artists.

Laura Tumillo

My first time there. Love this place. I will be back

renu k

Beautiful place

Loretta P

This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I'm not really a fan of Seward Johnson's art -- I find it boring, derivative, and frequent sexist -- but I love most of the other pieces, which are engrossing and thought provoking. The grounds are also lovely. There are even pitcher plants. I think it's worth a visit for sure.

Galyna Shulimova

It's an interesting place - has a lot of different sculptures. But in my opinion it is too overcrowded and you can not relax and enjoy staying here. It cost $20 per adult & $10 per kids over 5 years old. They have two cafes her. But you need a lot of time to get some food. Coffee in Van Gogh cafe is so so but outside sits have a great view. They need to improve some stuff - for example maps. If you want to get paper map you need to ask about this and pay $1. The online map is very inconvenient and poor. They supposed to create an app for map with more information. For my opinions Pepcico sculptures garden in upstate NY is way more better. No crowds, a lot of space for relaxing, very convenient map on app with a lot of information. And it's absolutely free.

Juan D Lopez

Excellent, a mesmerizing place, you can lost and find yourself at the same time. Highly recommended.

Bhagavath Singh

Awesome place . Me and my wife loved it

Zaire Ali

It was a great place, really enjoyed the environment and atmosphere. The only downside is that the food is a bit pricey and the museum proctors were not very knowledgeable. It was a good place for a date, but I also think it's good for any and every occasion.

Sue-Ann DiVito

It was like walking thru an enchanted Forrest. There was a surprise around every corner. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Sitting benches and restrooms are strategically placed throughout. I highly recommend. Wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

Alex Pellegrineschi

We regularly visit Grounds for Sculpture every time we go to New Jersey: is a magical place, really beautiful. What my family like the most is the feeling of the place, like an “Art Total Immersion” and every time we visit, we experience something different. There are a couple of cafes, but the Mediterranean French Restaurant “Rat’s”, is another experience that you must have. Absolutely outstanding, both visually for is beautiful location and for the quality and presentation of the food.

Lou Ballester

Mystical world of seemingly life sculptures, modern art, and beautiful natural settings.

Jennifer Colby

Great place to walk and see the different pieces throughout the grounds. Lots of trees so you get a lot of shade. There’s plenty of benches & seats to stop and take a rest. I encountered 4 staff members, two were polite. The guy at the booth that directed you where to park was not friendly nor was the woman in the booth by Rats Restaurant-which is why I’m giving this a 4 star vs 5.

Steffin King

Got really cool photos of my fiance while she was pregnant here. This is a great date spot.

allen tweddle

...wow, just wow! It's truly an exceptional and unique experience to be in the midst of the sculptural figures taken from an oil painting that you've view elsewhere. There are many reasons to go again and again. The modernist work are well-placed and of good impact. Put it on your must-do list!

Ketevan Khokhlova

Nice place to spend day off with family. A beautiful park, you can relax and enjoy contemporary sculptures.

Ken M

What a great place to spend an afternoon! Make sure to follow all trails! If you see a small trail, go look.. most likely there's a piece of art at the end!

Gayle Santos

Very unique art! We were looking for more giant sculptures... most of the giant sculptures were relocated near the highway...

Tracey Cook

Beautiful art in a lovely outdoor setting. You find new and exciting sculptures with every twist and turn. Beautiful in spring and fall...it can be hot the late summer months. A few options for food. Rats is excellent for a sit down meal.

Thomas Santomartino

It's unique and awesome for people of any age. Outdoors in a park-like environment with giant sculptures as well as smaller contemporary art ones. Sculpture recreations of famous work of art and pop culture.

Tony P

Really, did we need interactive grinding of metal statue of liberty. Fully support freedom of speech but a lot of people have died for the ideals that you choose to grind on. Better ways to make a statement. Glad I didn't see this till the end.

Hannah Boone

This place was absolutely beautiful. My husband brought me here on a surprise date & I couldn't be more thrilled that this place exists. 10/10 do recommend

Kirk Simon

This museum is fantastic. It's such a great time! The art is beautiful and something that is unique is that alot of the art is interactive! Check the photos

Christine Guryev

Great especially when milkweed is blooming or Oregon grape berries are ripe, or any other time! Such a treat and a chill adventure. You could spend a lot of time here, and it's a great place to take visiting friends and relatives!

Elsa Rivera

Easy to get to from Rt 295. Be prepared for a lot of walking, also golf carts available with drivers. Maps helpful, it is kind of a maze. Restaurants on site. Enjoyable experience.

Autumn Awesome

Gorgeous all around. It is my revcomendations to plan to spend the day here. There is so much to discover and explore. It definitely requires a good weather day to truly enjoy. Great place for kids to explore and run around. Peacocks freely roaming around. Plenty of shaded hidden sculptures. A few great little cafes and even a Full French restaurant.

Susanne Abitbol

This is a beautiful treasure on NJ. It's worth the ride and time it takes to explore the great display of art and nature. Thumbs up!

Ricky Hanson

This place is amazing, so much to see. I definitely recommend you visit and see all the sculptures and enjoy the landscape. I've never seen anything like this!

First time here. There's so much to see here. We love it so much that we're getting annual passes. Our guide told us that they are open year around with limited days during the winter. I wholeheartedly recommend this as a recurring visitor's destination.

Jack Hannon

Beautiful Sculptures and landscaping. A must see if you are the least bit interested in Art/Sculpture.

Lovely J

I am in love with this place so much! A lovely place to stroll with family. Every Staff was very nice. The special exhibition was great and sculptures were beautiful. Lovely atmosphere!❤️

Tracey Dykes

Great surprise! Unique collaboration of art and nature combined. Probably best visitation times would be fall and spring. We visited on extremely hot and humid day but still enjoyed all the exhibits indoor and outdoor. Will visit again

Jubin Edachery

This is a large and beautiful grounds full of amazing sculpture, art and flora. There is an entrance fee to get in and nice cafes inside. The grounds are vast - so much to walk around and see. Along with beautiful life size, abstract and larger than life sculptures, there are also a lot of beautiful horticulture of plants and trees from around the world, elegantly and artfully arranged. Great place to walk around and very family friendly.

Marc Gaw

This is a great day out. My kids enjoyed it and there is plenty to keep their attention while you enjoy a nice walk.

Alexander Sharov

It is freaking awesome! If there's a single best thing about Trenton it's the existence of this place. It's like a portal to the parallel universe where you can always stop by and think slowly about eternity. Just go there!

Mary Stanford

A nice outside museum of sculptures. Plenty of sunny and shady viewing areas. Three indoor spaces too. Outside and inside eating services, polite and helpful museum staff.

Jasmine Torres

The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Theres so many sculptures to explore outside, which makes it a lovely place to take pics with the family. I would def go here again. Make sure to have good walking shoes!

Tim and Laura Hurd

What a gem! We loved walking the Grounds and discovering hidden and not so hidden sculptures. The paths were a little rough for the stroller we were pushing but it was worth every bump! We will definitely be recommending Grounds For Sculpture to friends and we will be returning!

Jenelle Shimko

Easily one of the best places in the state to visit if you're looking for a place to explore, love the outdoors, and appreciate the arts. Highly recommended!

jerry harris

Always a fun place to spend an afternoon. Great place for people watching. As well as enjoying the art sculptures, flowers, and peacocks

Dave Ingram

Very Impressive! Fascinating, take your time to walk around the sculptures and investigate. The grounds are as impressive as the sculptures. Dine at Rats while viewing Van Gohs bridge, a perfect compliment for your adventure.

Olesia Kovach

We had such a wonderful weekend. Children were so excited about it.

David Michael

Huge park that is open late with indoor and outdoor exhibits. A lot of artwork to appreciate in a large open space. Perfect way to get all the perks of being in a museum while being outdoors. Reasonable prices (bring a student ID if you’ve got one). The cafes and restaurants give more to do while you’re there. The addition of various species of plants/flowers, coy ponds, and freely roaming peacocks are a nice touch.

Rey DiDonato

What am amazing place! The art really pops out at you, since you're seeing it in 3 dimensions. The grounds are beautifully maintained. It is quite inspiring!

Thank goodness for GPS, we made a lot of turns to get here, but we enjoyed the show even before arriving thanks to the sculptures arranged around the grounds and on the approach roads. The grounds are magnificent, dense with interesting sculptures and other displays, including buildings, water features, mist creations, and botanical arrangements. We had not prepared for our trip, and only expected to find a few Monet homages, so we were delighted to come upon works by modern giants Red Grooms and George Segal, and sculptures based on Munch and Rousseau almost hidden on the way. We arrived on a Monday in August , so the inviting French restaurant was closed, and we were lucky to have a snack before the main building closed at 6PM.

Kenneth Lindenfelser

Nice balance of walking and art. Foods a little pricey (would be better off bringing your own food and having a picnic!) and you have to buy a map, but otherwise very enjoyable!

Nicole Lim

Very cool place to visit! Have to come back again though since I didn't even get to see everything in 1 visit! Don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses!

Jo Quig

This place is fantastic. I have introduced it to some friends and then they take friends! Going seasonally is necessary to see new exhibits inside and out. Tho’ difficult to see, my fave was a 911 sculpture of a man with briefcase with debris all around. I knew what it was the second I saw it. The original survived in nyc. I took a day of interesting mini classes of different art genre that were fun and very interesting. Am planning to take a new friend soon!

John Brady

The grounds are beautiful. The sculptures seemed endless and diverse. Very interesting and a great way to spend a day.

Carl Ingalls

Lots of statues and other sculptures, set in landscapes. Some of the statues are so realistic, it can take a moment to decide if it is just a person sitting very still.

James Stevens

It was both unexpected and more than expected. Whether or not you like modern art, there is something for everyone. Some art is simple, some are multi-layered in meaning. It can be seen in a day so put it on your list of must-sees.

This place is amazing! Good for families but make sure little ones has a stroller and things to do as they will get tired easily. Restaurants are appropriate and little cafes offer a variety of snacks and beverages.

Michelle Shani

An absolute gem in NJ. We attended a gorgeous wedding on the grounds, by far the most beautiful location and set up I have ever witnessed. The sculptures and art are amazing at every turn. The staff was fast and attentive throughout the night. We will be returning for a day trip to take in more of the thoughtfully placed art sculptures and peacocks gracefully strutting through the people.

This place is beautiful and there are a lot of interesting works. I appreciate that they are one of the few large scale museums dedicated to sculpture. My only negative comment is that I really didn’t like the people sculptures. They were literally everywhere and they seemed kind of outdated and cheap. Still had a great visit!

Roshani P

Absolutely stunning place. So many fantastic sculptures and little nooks to get lost in! I didn’t know they had a few ($20) PP, but honestly completely worth it. Way better than storm king in my opinion! You’ll def need 1-2 hours here and much of it is outside so not the best idea to go on a super hot day.

Klarysa Sanchez

I really loved this place! You can go with friends, family, or a date. So many giant sculptures to look at. There is a cafe with great options, a little pricey but food is good. The walk to see sculptures is relaxing and takes about 2-3 hours. I definitely recommend visiting if you like art, sculptures, nature, & walking.

Mary Kylee Smith

Beautiful place for a day trip. Repeat value and I’d love to go in any season! Accessible for anyone almost. Shade for when it got hot and very clean. Only complaint was that they were mowing and blowing leaves around 10-11am when we were there so it was hard to relax and take in some of the quite and meditative time we were hoping for.

Cinnamon Candy

I loved this place. I'm not sure how many acres it is, but there's plenty of property to walk around and explore. There are cool things to discover all around the property and some in places you'd least expect. The restaurant is beautiful, although, I didn't get to eat there due to a wedding, but I felt like I was in another country. It was magical.

Nick DeWin

An exquisite setting for 3-D art! I plan to return. The tree-lined pathways and water features add to the overall experience.

Karolyn Wray

Very unique place with surprises around every corner. Really enjoyed our visit!

Amy Davis

This was my 2nd trip, the last time I came I enjoyed the fall leaves but my summer visit today allowed me to enjoy all the flowers. As well as having sculptures, the meandering paths through wooded areas, lake views, secret nooks and secluded gardens make you feel as though you are in a different place. I saw art I hadn't noticed on my first trip,& my 69 year old mother throughly enjoyed herself. They have several places to sit along the way, many shady nooks, and buildings you can cool off in so the hot day wasn't unbearable. We loved how outside exhibits aren't roped off, and patrons can wander among the art! We are looking forward to more visits!

Randi Steffler

It was better than I expected and inspiring. I see some of the more modern sculptures from the road and I didn't think I'd be into it, but the Monet Bridge and others were breathtaking!

Samantha Del Zoppo

This is an absolute must do. I love the fact that it's interactive and the whole grounds can be covered in about 2 hrs. It never felt crowded, I'm sure because we went after 5pm that had something to do with it. I would recommend going later on and on a cooler day.

Sophie Sauveterre

It is a very fun place to walk around in, but there no paper maps for visitors or large maps other than in the main building, said a worker. He told me I would have to walk back to the first building and take a picture of the map. I would have appreciated being warned by the check-in workers when I got my wristband or preferred that there at least be a map in every large building. Anyway, the peacocks are fun to spot, the grounds are beautiful, and the sculptures are numerous. They rotate in new sculptures, so there is something new to see every year. The Awakening giant remains one of my favorites to wander about.

Gerry Curran

Needs better signage so you don't miss any of the sculptures as you tour the grounds. Some interesting things to see. Nicely kept grounds with a wide variety of plants and trees.

Sonya Santiago

Amazing place for photos shoots. (Family friendly) and the staff are just lovely. I recommend this for kids 4 and up. Is a big park so if you are the kind to take pictures with every single thing in there the I recommend arriving early so you can have plenty of time to see the entire park.

Glenn Houthuysen

Lots of fun to see the sculptures. Some were abstract and some recognizable. I would definitely go back!

Nancy Ryan

A unique experience in a beautiful outdoor setting. I really enjoyed walking around the grounds and looking at the amazing artwork. It is a lot of walking and some of it on uneven walkways, so if you have mobility issues it's something to be mindful of. All in all a wonderful way to spend the day.

douglas montgomery

It was beautiful. So much so, that I even proposed to my girlfriend of 3 years there. By the waterfalls In the wedding area. It was something we will cherish forever. I highly recommend visiting.

E. Lim

Beautiful grounds and more than 200 sculptures of various sizes. Some are in plain sight and others are hidden until you come around the corner. Mixture of contemporary & classical art. Often humorous & surprising. Most are life size and easily mistaken for a real person. Some are huge! There are 3 places onsite for drinks & snacks with the famous restaurant Rats being most expensive If you don't like crowds, arrive before noon. Take your time and enjoy!

tania medina

This is by far the coolest place! I recommend to anyone. It’s filled with amazing art and it’s a great place if you want to do a photoshoot.

mason aldrich

Was a nice time. Weekends seem to be super busy, middle of the week would be better.
