REVIEWS OF Garden State Discovery Museum IN New Jersey

This place was great!!! We had 2 four year old twin girls & a 2 year old boy & they were enchanted!!!! We went mid-week & it was not too crowded at all. We spent about 3-4 hours & saw all the exhibits. It was educational & fun wrapped up in a great day. I highly recommend this place 4 anyone with young kids.

Michele Pyzik

Very unorganized. Not enough staff to oversee that toys that belong in Certain play areas are there to play with. It was utter chaos!!! And dirty

T. Disu

Great place for kids to experience different activities. The only thing I didn't like was the loud hand dryers in the bathrooms. It's a kid's museum and a lot of them are afraid of how loud those dryers are. But there's no other way to dry their hands.

alicia gilbert

Yearly members, love this place for my 2 year old, he has a blast!

Sam Tunsil

It's a good place for younger kids to run around and have some hands-on fun. Could use some additions or updates, it's been some of the same run-down toys for a couple of years now.

Elfie k

Fun place for the kids! We enjoyed ourselves there.

Leigh Germann

Perfect for my 3 year old!!! He loved it and was actually difficult to get him to leave.

Katie Kostin

My 22 mo twins loved it here. For parents its a bit run down and there aren't many places to sit and watch your kids. I also worried about the slides. The little ones were often playing at the bottom and it was tough to tell if s bigger kid was coming down. However the kids weren't ready to leave after an hour so I would call it a success. If parents didn't have to pay admission like some other play areas I would give 5 stars.

takomalu hsu

New remodeling with science center. Such a nice place for kids to play and learn.

dawn latham

Great place for children. And great for parties.

Mike McPeak

Finally getting the upgrades it desperately needs, but will never have the staff it needs while remaining affordable, so it's more of a play place than educational trip

Laquania Miles

My kids enjoyed themselves

Craig List

A great place for young minds to play and learn!

Amy Paratore

Great place for the little ones.

Kate Lukas

Love this place. My one and half year old could spend all day here. Lots of areas to cover.

josh flesch

Fun for kids. Kids are however easily lost due to the nature of the museum and the layout of the areas.

Kryn Westhoven

They got a few new exhibits my son, who is 6, is good for about two hours.

Tara D

Really fun indoor sensory areas for the kids

Nikki White

Daughter enjoyed her class trip there that's all that matters.

Richard Hursh

Cool place to take your children for a hands on learning experience

Nata Wimberley

Everything is outdated not well-kept, a lot of things are either missing or broken. Basketball court had beach balls no basketballs and there is an additional fee to play in the gymnastics.

Richard Shivers

Attended a birthday party here. The staff were extremely friendly, very organized with several activities for the party itself and free reign of the play floor. The staff was quick to help when the staff area was not working, even when the person who helped was leaving for the day (off the clock). I will definately bring my children here again.

Benjamin Hastings

Awesome time. Good price, not crazy busy and close to philly. Kid loved it.

Katherine Wright

Fun, great staff and good food selection

Brenda Gonzalez

Very overpriced but lots to do.

Cheryl Mitchell

Ok variety of activities for little ones. A little dark appears s little dirty. Lack of hand sanitizers. But all in all nice learning opportunities.

Zack D

Have a family membership great place for kids. But they ridiculously charge 15 dollars for any adult who takes the kids to the museum other than then the parents. So even there is only one adult like their uncle and the kids, they still charge 15 dollars.

Christopher Wylie

Tired and showing its age. Many of the interactions (buttons, levers, etc) no long work. Paint is fading or rubbed off in high traffic/use areas. Maybe the various sponsors that are named throughout the museum, such as 6ABC, whole foods market, Cooper hospital, and the like should be contacted about donations to freshen the place up.

Melanie

This place was so much fun for my 3 year old! Each exhibit was so incredible for imaginative play. We took advantage of the $5 admission after 5pm and felt like we could have spent the whole day there. We absolutely loved it!

Larry abramson

This place was very fun and for the entire family. To see my sons smiling while playing with everything was all I needed to make for a great day. You can go digging for dinosaurs or play hockey in the sports section. There is something to do for most ages. The only reason getting 4 stars instead of 5 was when we went to get lunch we were talking out loud of what we wanted to eat and when we finally went to order they told us they were sold out.

Kelly Osvold

I took my friend's niece and nephew. She 6 and 9. They had a blast. They spent the most time in the sports arena and the architectural dig. But they both loved all aspects. They also spent a lot of time at the construction site.

Deanna Iglesias

It's a great indoor experience all children can enjoy. It has a little bit of everything.

Sonya Williford

Very cute museum I didn't even know existed. My daughter loved it.

zireonda pando

The food area was horrible. Ordered an adult meal and it was the same size as a kids ...for more money

charlotte wristen

This place was all right. A lot of the things were broken. I was able to get a good deal thru groupon. I definitely wouldn't pay full price. The kid loved it

exploring with the lamas

Had a great time with my daughter

Jon Lamonte

My son loved it, just watch out for school trip season as it can get packed.

Richard Kozo

I went with my grandson, the place had different play stations for kids which would have been nice except it was messy and dirty. They had play mats with visible dirt stains on them that needed to be replaced. The miniature golf station came apart when my grandson was playing with it.kids were running around in their bare feet. I would not take my grandson back here again, too dirty, too much germs, I got sick from being there the following day.

Pawel Zboralski

Yesterday was our first time here and we really had a blast as a family. I was worried that my 2 year old was too young to have fun there but I was wrong. For 3+ hours he ran around from station to station having so much fun. The best part was definitely the Dino area. Not only was the exhibit itself super fun but the staff member there made it even better. We were sitting in the bone pit when Meghan K. came over and jumped in with us. Right away she started playing with our son and he opened up right away. She even heard us call his name and remember it for the rest of the day. It's people like her that really add something special to trips like these and I'm sure it's a birthday he won't forget. Again we had a great time and I'm already telling all my friends about this place.

Patricia Colby

Great place for kids. Different play areas to enhance your child's imagination

David Dombrowski

My daughter is 18 months. She loves this place. Very well done up. Only bad thing is that when its crowded the bigger kids run wild.

Barb M

The kids were entertained for hours! Excellent value for all that is offered. Educational while having fun!

Heather Anderson

First, every exhibit is sponsored, so it didn't cost the museum to build them. The only cost is overhead. So why do they charge $16 per person over the age of one year? That's way too expensive. Many of the exhibits are old and worn. They look like something you can build in your garage. Most importantly they allow large school groups to come in with insufficient number of chaperones so kids run wild everywhere. Some of these kids were huge, like they belonged in junior high. And they knocked over my 2 year old as I was standing there. No adult said a word. Meanwhile in the toddler area parents were ignoring their kids, playing on their cell phones, while 5 year olds were running amok. The lack of supervision was appalling. And the employees don't care. There are better places to spend your money and your time.

Rocky Citro

Our kids have gotten a lot out of this membership. It is one of the better better memberships that we have because you can bring family and friends and you can also go to the paws Discovery farm which we liked quite a bit actually. you have to add both of those options on but for our situation I really think it is worth it because we often bring orchids cousins or friends with us. I am kind of bored of the place as a parent LOL but my kids continue to love it. They especially love the little treehouse play area in the back. The staff is always very friendly. The food place is not everything special but they are really nice about letting you bring your own food. There are activities going on most days if you go at the right time.

Michelle Almassy

I do not think adults should have to pay the same price as children. It is nice but definitely not worth $15 a person.

Jennifer Gassman

Good for kids, lots to do, good cafe and store

john Charles

My son loved this place, he did not want to leave. My wife and my were so Impressed we took out a yearly membership. So much to do for the kids, from cooking to dinosaurs and much more. Price was great too!!

Nichole Alford

Great place to take young kids. Plenty of opportunities for pretend play!

Suzanne Morrow

I was super excited that my students would have the opportunity to experience the museum as my own children did. However, I was throughly disappointed with today’s staff and lack of organization. We planned our kindergarten field trip months ago. When we arrived, they weren’t prepared for us. We waited for 22 minutes in a narrrow hallway, while the rest of our party was left outside in the cold rain. We were prompted to place all lunches and coats in dirty bins, literally lined with trash from previous groups. After waiting 22 minutes, we were all crammed in the theater room for an orientation where the staff seemed angry and annoyed. They were unsure when we would be eating as well as where we would be eating. There was no help with lunch set up or clean up and we were rushed out. Our coats were thrown in piles. My fellow kindergarten teachers, educational assistants, and parent chaperones should have had a better experience. Needless to say, today’s experience was nothing like my previous visits as a parent.

Annie Baby

Best TIME we had so much fun

Ru Sarina

This place is perfect for a 4 year old. They get to explore various scenarios and roles while interacting with other children. There weren’t that many people there because the weather was beautiful out. Some stations were under renovations and I can’t wait to see what it’s going to look like. The staff was friendly. I just wish this place offered free WiFi just for the adult’s and teenager’s sanity.

Bill Binder

This place rocks! Great atmosphere, awesome displays and the best staff!

Jon Santos

Attentive staff with lots of different exhibits. The parking lot can be tricky but the location is pretty convenient. If you are a local by any stretch, consider a membership.

Elise Bromer

So much for the kids to do! Lots of fun packed into a small location

Katrina Buckreis

Had the greatest time. The arts and crafts kept our kids occupied for over an hour. The snack bar prices were ok, and they had to microwave our pretzel... Other then that we love coming here!!! The staff played with our kids(Emma was amazing and should get a raise!!!)

Eman Elsamra

My kids love it! I just wish it would be a little bit updated.

joy m

Perfect and interactive. Good for ages 1-7 and beyond. My 18 month grandson had the best time. Giant bubbles, wall of light bright pegs, and dinosaur dig, was his favorite.

Kalimah Perry

I attended a birthday party here and the facility is amazing. The only issue is the staff is not friendly or welcoming.

Sarah Turnamian

There's so much to do here. We spent many hours at this place. They have a hockey rink, a basketball court, an art studio, a mock vet office, a mock diner, a boat, a mock California Pizza kitchen, an ambulance, some construction zone area, story time, etc. There was so much more. My kids loved it and it wasn't that crowded when we went.

John O'Connor

Kids love it. Friendly staff

samantha tunsil

Always a fun time for the kids and myself as well. Theres maby fun little activities for them tp do my only conplaibt is that some of the toys there are in desperate need of being updated and cleaned. So many kids come through the stuff gets beat up pretty bad but doesnt seem to be replaced mulch.

Joshua Dillard

Since our last visit, they renovated some areas, like the toddler area, bubble and steam place. Looks good. It's a nice place to spend time on a chilly or rainy day especially if you have younger kids.

Mike Dickel

My kids had a great time. We will definitely be going back.

Christina Beard

If you're thinking of doing a birthday party here then look elsewhere. We just had a birthday party there this weekend and we were jam packed into a small room. We had about 28 children including my 2, along with all of their parents all in a tiny room. Not everyone could fit in the room and there were a lot of adults who had to stand outside of the party room and eat. We paid $18 per child and $5 per extra adult, totaling well over $400 for the party and that does not include food. The place is not clean and it's very dimly lit. Almost ALL of the children who attended the party got the stomach bug, including my 2 birthday girls. My 2 year old has been vomiting for 3 days so far. The only good thing I can say is that our party host Olivia was great.

Robert Dulaney

Took my three year old here and she had a wonderful time. We went during more of an off-peak time on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all. We spent about 3-4 hours there and there wasn't a lack of things to do. The pricing was about right for the amount of time spent there and how much fun she had. I would recommend this for anyone with a child between 3-6

Amit Sharma

Extremely polite staff. Nice science museum for kids. Can spend around 1.5- 2 hours when the weather is not kind outside.

Jeff L

This place has a lot of charm. It was pretty filthy but I liked how it felt as if we were inside the dream of a crazy person in 1997.

Erick Bee

My daughter, age 3, loves to run around in here. great when it is cold or rainy outside. not sure why adults have to pay full price since we are there to watch our kids play, that's it. definitely could use a maximum capacity limit. on busy weekends, it is shoulder to shoulder. some areas could use a fresh coat of paint. definitely needs more attention to the "props" in the themed play areas. been to some, where almost all of the props are missing. so, some kids carried them off and dropped them in another area, and the workers did not return them yet. disappointing to be in the "vet office" with nothing but 4 walls to look at. some parents let their older, more aggressive kids, run rampant, which is a safety hazard to the smaller kids. also, the dinosaur play area has a climbing/crawling structure which is a safety hazard. smaller kids can become lost as to how to go up and down inside, or are unable to move through it due to physical limitations. if they cry needing help, parents cannot climb in after them, since we cannot fit.

Pramod Kumar Badatiya

A good museum for kids however costly as compare to other museums.

Heather Mott

A great place to take the family but, not as clean and well-kept as it used to be. The dinosaur exhibit is very dusty and dirty. Many parts of exhibits are broken and not maintained. The prices are rather high as well so if you intend to visit more than once, go for the membership instead!

Natasha Merritt

Went here on a rainy Saturday while in the area and had a blast. Even though it was packed (weather and weekend) there was plenty for my 4 year old to do. We really enjoyed our time there.

Sarah Hawn

Super overwhelming with more than one child by yourself. Hard to contain kids in one area at a time

Jennifer -

This place is great. It's like a smaller Please Touch Museum. It's very clean (even though we ended up bringing home a cold :/) They offer birthday parties, facility rentals. All the info is right on their website. I have personally been to one. It was neat, the girls voice in that tiny room was like daggers... Gift shop is cute and reasonably priced. They have a neat 99¢ rack with color changing pencils, sharpeners and other little things. There's a small restaurant inside. We've never been to it, but it smells amazing. I also truly appreciate the fact they employee people with disabilities and those employees truly care about your experience there! There is also a bag/coat check there if that's your thing.

Moment Of Marzee

Something new & different & another option other than (chuckcheese, funplex, trampoline parks)

Dorie Morgan

The museum is great. My children had a great time and we would definitely come back again... however Jdogs Cafe is horrible. Not only did they forget to prepare half of our food but they were incredibly rude when I brought it to their attention. Make sure you have a different plan for meals and snacks when you come here and you'll have a great time. Also leave your strollers at home as this is not a stroller friendly location.

Yip King Hui

Looked pretty small from parking lot. But kids can play for hours with all different setup inside

David Warrick Jr

Good concept, however not maintained properly. Debris everywhere you look, trash built up outside and in. Dust build up that is unacceptable and unhealthy. Many empty or not working hand sanitizers. Many buttons not in working order and items for activities are not organized. Some of this is bad parenting, watch your child and have them put stuff back when they're done. However, some of this is on management. They should have a few people on the floor monitoring things to be sure each activity is ready for the next child. Many areas in need of improvement for health and safety.

Kelly T

All my kids love it here so much, every time we go there at least stay for 3 hours. They have so much energy to play.

N Reid

I really wanted to like this place because my 4 year old had a great time but the place was really dirty. He developed ringworms right after visiting, which we know it came from there because it was the only place we had visited (he wasn’t in daycare at the time). Almost 6 months later and we’re still trying to get rid of ringworms that won’t seem to go away.

Ramsey Jean-Pierre

There is a lot of the kids to do even more if they take their time and read the information cards in the different areas. There is also a fun interactive theater about the human body. Food options are limited though. I would eat before I come or pack a lunch.

Andy W

This indoor children's museum has been a family favorite for the last couple of years. They have been updating the exhibits lately so there are some new things to do. But the old favorites still hold up like the construction site and the medical center. There is a small area for toddlers and crawlers with age appropriate activities and equipment. It has party rooms, a small cafe, and a gift shop. Parking is limited up front but there is a large lot in the back.

Karan Anand

We've been here before and decided to host our sons birthday party at this venue. It was awesome! The room was perfectly set up with everything we needed. They called ahead of time to help us plan the day. The kids had a blast playing after lunch and cake cutting. Very highly recommend.

Betsy Cassel

It's semi fun for the kids but a lot of the things are broken, missing pieces or very dirty/worn out looking. It definitely needs a good cleaning.

Stacie Earley

I take my kindergarten students here every year on a field trip They love it. It's their own little world, just the perfect size!

Mike Seeley

This place feels like a cross between the Franklin Institute and the Pleas Touch museum. Both my 6-year-old daughter and my 2-year-old son were engaged the entire time we were there. Even with two bus trips on a hot summer day, it did not feel overcrowded and all areas were well monitored by cheerful staff. They offer different activities during the day, including small shows in their theater space and one-on-one story time in the castle.

Jangurl Steph

This place is great for kids ages 2-7 or 8. We brought our 6 and 9 year old, the 6 year old had a blast the 9 year old (girl) was bored. Also, they have hand sanitizers on the walls but they were all empty. We definitely washed the kids hands immediately once we left the play area. Parking can be tight on the weekends.

Kelly Carruolo

Great Place to take young children active get up and go things to do.

Dee Lynch

Had a great time there with my grandbaby who is 5

Dan Okavage

Really neat place but it use to be much better. Facility was dirty, unorganized and just seen better days. Staff was disinterested and daily events board was "wrong" from what I was told by employees. No healthy food options but they do allow you to bring your own. Good thing I had a Groupon as paying $60 for a family of 4 is insane, let alone buying an annual membership. I even called and left a message for the director and have yet to receive a call back. You guys could be excellent but you're subpar at best. Try to do better.

Alicia Fernandes

We really love this place but it needs $$ invested in it. All of the different areas are great but a lot of them are missing the accessories or they are broken and dirty. It wouldn't stop me from going back but I do hope it receives updates soon on it's current exhibits.

Arona Michal Berow

Great place for toddlers. Soooo much to do. We were all sad to leave.

Adriana Sanchez

It's a small place full of great things to do indoors. Construction area, theater, marketplace, arts and crafts, pizzeria, castle, hospital, dinosaur playground, basketball court, hockey and baseball. If you have little ones they will enjoy it. Also they have a small snack area. They offer annual memberships, birthday parties, sleepovers and more.

Grant Adams

Honestly, I don't really like this place. Maybe the lighting is too dim for me, maybe it's too big and I feel like I'll lose my little ones too easily, or maybe some of the inside is broken or seemingly-dirty (I'm sure they clean it, but it just looks dirty). I've been here about 6 times. I feel bad giving this review because I'm sure it's difficult to run a place like this, and I have some empathy for the good people who own and operate the facility.

alana clark

A great place for kids

Mike D

My toddler loves this place so much that we had to sign up for a membership. Assuming your kid likes to "play pretend" a lot, this is a not miss spot. Such a unique place with a lot of play areas. Extra great for a rainy day but your kid wants to go to the playground.

Dave Falcone

Quite a few options to entertain young children (ages 2-10ish) for a few hours on a rainy day. The Kid's Gym, access to which is an additional cost, was a nice option for kids to burn off some energy and have a more athletic experience.

Timothy Golden

PINK EYE!!!! We took our 11 month old to the infant section first thing in the morning. There were barely any kids in the whole place at that point. We stayed for roughly an hour and left. Within 24 hours he had a severe head cold and later pink eye. The toys he played with were untouched by other children which makes me think none of the toys were cleaned in any way.

Bird house

Very cute and fun for young children. Also very reasonable birthday party packages.

Wayne Sierocinski

A blend of new and old but plenty of things to see and do!

Daniel Dye

Kids had such a good time! There is so much to do and see here, they played for hours! Fun for all ages.

JAMEISHA BYRON

Been here a few times and each time it gets worse. Not the cleanest, party rooms are small and our party host was so unorganized. A cool place nonetheless but a lot of things do not work or are closed

Mary Young

Fun times will be had by all....great place!

Frank Pursglove

Great place for children of all ages. The whole family can have a good time here!!

Kashmir Fluellen

Came for a birthday party. It was ok for the most part until the manager came in screaming at our children to “GET OUT” of an area we did not know was limited to toddlers. Instead of addressing the 5+ adults in the area she began screaming at a group of children. What an unpleasant experience to have while attending an event to celebrate my grandchild. If the staff were trained properly the party host would/ should have advised that the area had an age limit instead of watching the group migrate from the party room to that space. I will NEVER go back and succumb to that kind of disrespect. If that’s what comes from a manager then clearly the place is inadequately run.

Cole Kohler

Awesome place to take your little ones for a day of discovery. Cool exhibits that will run your kiddos out of energy

Alex Cox

The activities are fun for all ages. There are many activities that I could spend hours doing. Visit there ASAP!

Ken Krupinski

Great place for families!! Hands on play for children to learn and explore everyday jobs from construction to Newscaster. Science based learning in basic mechanics and human health, as well as sports and art

Jeff Platt

This isn't just a rainy day place for kids. This is a friendly place to teach kids how to interact with others. My kids not only enjoyed it greatly, but now as young adults they tell me stories about it. Truly amazing lasting memories!

Malka Nusbaum

Such an awesome museum! There is so much to do and so many places for the children to explore. Would definitely recommend!

Bette DelGrosso

Fun day with my son, daughter- inlaw, and grandson.

Lyné Trendler

The museum itself is good for kids under 7. Some of the exhibits could use some attention due to missing attraction pieces and poor condition. I noticed quite a bit of items that could use a good cleaning and maintenance but over all my two year old had a good time. I am however extremely disappointed in the customer service I received during my visit. My son received a membership to the museum for his birthday. A value of $199. It was purchased by my sister in law with the intention for all her nieces and nephews (all 2-6 years old) to go together given the membership clearly states for "2 parental adults and their children." My sister and I (both stay at home moms) decided to use the membership for ourselves and our 5 children. Our husbands will be at work and it's a great place to take the kids during the week on a rainy or snowy day. But we were denied. I was told that parental adults means "husband and wife or parental guardian." Therefore we were supposed to purchase two different memberships. I was then informed that whether you have 1 child or 8 children, the membership is the same price. So for me, with only one child, the membership is not worth it. Managers refused to honor the membership staying that it's one membership per household. NONE of this is stated on their website. I was thoroughly annoyed and in turn my sister in law had to fight for her money back.

Maria Delgado-Pontani

Took my 15 month old granddaughter on Sunday fully expecting the place to be a madhouse. I was pleasantly surprised. There are so many different hands on exhibits it didn't feel crowded. I was also impressed that they had a set of exhibits geared specifically to toddlers. There were also strategically placed hand sanitizers though as few more wouldn't hurt. That all being said, it is starting to look a bit rundown so at least a deep cleaning is in order.

Edward Bolton

The Best. Great Experience for all. Xcellent. Kids loved it...

Suzanne Smith

I would rate it 5 stars if it was cleaner

Todd Nolen

Awesome place for kids to play. Very large with many diverse and interesting options. Our kids love it.

Dana Hoeke

Perfect hands on experience for kids 10 and under! There is lots for them to do everywhere they look. My kids loved the "kid size" restaurants, hockey rink and news station. They also enjoyed the dinosaur room where they could climb and make dinosaur roars and dig for fossils. There is a cute section just for babies and toddlers as well. Stroller friendly. Free parking. Heads up: tiny snack bar with limited seating, but plenty of food establishments nearby.

Casey Owens

Love it here. So cute and so nice to have right in our background. Always an adventure for the kids.

Maria Agreda

Great place! A lot to do and explore.

Scott Sempier

Great place for kids 2 - 6 to imagine and play indoors for hours. The pricing is steep - especially since they charge full price for adults. But, whomever your favorite young children are, they will find an area of interest to pique their imaginations!

maya holloway

I had a fantastic fairy party for my daughter. The host was helpful, friendly & actively involved.

Mike Robinson

Great place for a birthday

Angel Santiago

Had a great time here a lil pricey for the lil that is there hit the kids loved it so it gets 5 from me

V D

Good place for kids to spend couple hours. They need to keep the place clean and fix broken toys. They shouldn't charge another entrance fee for the tiny room with zipline and other toys for the toddlers. Over all the my 4&6 enjoyed the visit.

Cassandra Charles

I'm giving it 4 stars because 3 times I went with my 5yr and 18 month-old they had a blast. There is a lot to do and the kids learn in the process. I feel like I learn a lot with them. However all three times they got sick the same afternoon we got back from there. They must not clean that place much because the toys in the toddler area were so dirty and my baby was putting things in his mouth. That was horrible. I am mentioning because when I go to other children museums with them they never get sick.

Jennifer Byrd

Wonderful place where kids can learn all sorts of things!! Clean, fun, and interesting! Incredible experience for all my kids ages 2-9. We're a large family of six and took advantage of the $5 after 5pm deal, but would pay full price because it was that fun.

Patti Massengale

Loved this place for years and we’re long term loyal members so I bought a membership for my daughter so she could can take her baby brother while I am at work. When you click on the online membership form it asks for the name of two adults. My daughter is 20 so she cane be listed under my children so I put my name and hers. To our surprise she was UNwelcomed by Cheryl who made her pay an additional $20 in order to be added to the family membership that I had already purchased. Despite her name being listed on the membership and despite you are supposed to received two free tickets on your first visit. When I called an asked why she was treated this way the first woman was a delight Jennifer she seemed to have understood. Then I spoke with Cheryl who was a closed minded discriminatory woman. I was told by her only myself or my spouse could be considered an adult. Garden state discovery museum clearly does not understand there is more than one type of family and anyone other than a spies cannot be considered an adult, so you’ll have to pay extra.

Jazzmyn Mills

Awesome. My younger brother and I enjoyed ourself. It was like a mini please touch museum. Will definitely be back

Sashy Wilson

Great place for children to explore and have fun.

Erika Dominczak

It's a great place for younger kids. A lot of rooms with different things to do.

Mimi Leitner

Amazing place for children of all ages!! My two year old loved every moment and didn’t want to leave. There are many different exhibits with no waiting time so kids are enjoying themselves all the time. Definitely recommend

Mike Lay

I had my son's birthday party here. It's a good place for kids but the front desk staff was not professional.

Jaaquana Manuel

Was extremely fun!!! So many different interactive things for the kids to do. Wish it was twice the size thats how much fun it was!!

XMachina

Phenominal... I take my kids here all the time!

Abbe A

Liked the old set up more and it could be a bit more updated. Some of the toys are so worn out.

Walter Hargain

Kids had a blast.

Carolyn Brown

Went here for Halloween trunk or treat and then inside where the kids had tons of exploring to do. They had a terrific time. Wish I went here sooner, my daughter loved it

Gina Iovacchino

Love this place..so much to do for kids with all different interests and its reasonably priced...

yahaira Cordero

I definately would not recommend this place I just did not like it at all. The parents should. it have to pay for entry and also it's just not worth it. if you go once thats probably all you need is one visit

annabethie

Fun, although exhibits are often broken or pieces missing and no one to help.

With much appreciation to the two dedicated employees, Dante and Bailey, we were able to celebrate a 6-year-old birthday in the most enjoyable manner I could have imagined. The facility was meticulously maintained with the focus on providing an exceptional experience for children in a safe and adventurous location. Everything you could possibly imagine for a child to explore was available from a foam pit to jump into or the highlight, a zipline to go flying off into the foam pit. There were nerf guns, wonderful music and an excellent set up for what turned out to be a wonderful birthday party. I would guess that Dante and Bailey must have done hundreds of children's parties because their experience shows in the flawlessness of how they are able to handle an entire group of children running about, having fun yet being safe and properly monitored. If you are looking to have an excellent venue for a child's party I would highly recommend coming here for a truly great place to build memories. Enjoy!

For a child who is exploring their world this is a great place. Seemed to be geared towards toddlers . Would be nice if they re-supplied the consumables for example extra paper for foot print rubbing, better costumes for theater. Definitely worth the wait going to your public library and getting free passes.

Fun time for the little one. Will go back in the future.

My 1 and 4 yo love it here. I went there as a child and remember loving it too. Always new things to discover. My son loved the dinosaur area. My daughter loved the baby/toddler area's kitchen the best. The staff on the floor was very friendly!

We had a great time! The place is set up well for kids and activities! My kids absolutely loved it and all the experiences they had! We spent almost 2 hours and experienced almost everything available! The staff was kind and courteous. We will return down the road. Over all, a great place to take young children. Ours are 3 and 5, any older than that and I believe they may have been bored.

Great place for kids 5 and under. Lots of different activities that are fun and educational. Needs to be heavily cleaned and probably hasn't been for the last 10 years. Most of the play areas need to be updated and a lot of different areas that were fun are now gone like the lizards, snakes, and turtles. The staff members were very helpful and always around picking up toys and putting them back where they belonged. The newly added room with a zip line cost an extra 12 dollars per person which is outrageous imo. I loved this place and I hope it gets updated again soon. Remember to bring your hand sanitizer and use often as we always get sick after visiting.

My kids had an awesome birthday party here! I got the party and family membership from Groupon... You'd never know it... Amazing customer service and great staff - open to changes and suggestions. We'll see you soon :)

Visited on 2/2/2019. The interactive exhibits are such a wonderful idea, however, the place is dirty and overpriced. There were broken toys, missing pieces at the exhibits, inadequate supplies for areas with interactive activities, and a very disinterested Art Studio staffer. The food snack area was filthy with trash bins overflowing and tables littered with previous visitor's food garbage. Their prices are crazy too. On our way out, we purchased 2 "slushies" (blue one was disgusting & my grandchild had to throw it out), 1 bag cheez-its & a Hershey bar for $10 and change. The one thing that was great, was the Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble. It was an enjoyable hour.

Lots of activities. My kid really enjoyed it and would like to return
