I was so horrified to learn that the Old Man Of The Mountain had fallen off the mountain in May of 2003. I had hoped, like Humpty Dumpty, they could find all the pieces to put him back together again and back on the mountainside where he belongs, but, unfortunately, this historic site is all that will be left for future generations. It really is awesome to go to the site and see the virtual reality view of what the old man used to look like.

One of my favorite spots in New England. Great history and beautiful views but please people pick up your trash and bikes stay OFF the walking path! Be sure to check out the sign I donated. Found at flea market in S. Carolina of all places.

It's a very pretty place to go for a short walk when your there and it's such a cool layout where you can view the old man the way it was back in the day, by standing at the points indicated according to your height. The walk is about 20 mins and It's very peaceful and quiet just to be there surrounded by flowers and the view of the profile Lake with the mountains surrounded. There is a very nice view of the Eagle Cliff from this point too. Do recommend going there.I went with my Fiance on Labor day weekend and it was not crowded at all. There is a very pretty bike path that goes through the Old man Historic site.

Aliza Kenny

I went with my fiancee for the first time the other day and even though it was raining and foggy it was still so beautiful there. We were the only ones there at the time but I had a really good time! I highly recommend going if you've never been!

Rhonda Rafus

Excellent park! Well done and within walking distance 5-10 minutes. Enjoyed learning the history of the Man on the Mountain. Site seeing the mountains and the cliffs. A man with bonoculrs pointed out some mountain climbers on the Eagle. Great displays and fun things to do for the whole family. Kangamaga is a must! Bring your swimsuit. Enjoy walking on the rocks. And stop at Clark's Training Post. See the bears.

They have done a great job in recreating the old man experience and we were very glad that we stopped. It is an easy, short walk down a paved path. A couple of kiosks on the way and a little gift shop and and museum.

The history is interesting but the Old Man requires a bit of imagination for me to visualize the figure. I enjoyed the scenic river and the gap in the mountains.

I went as young kid. They've done a credible job so you can still "see" the Old Man. Its not a bad facsimile. The walk to the site and pond are very nice.

4th time going still just as nice in the summer as the fall!

I used to come here when I was younger and loved it. I brought my family with me this time around. I just love the area and its picturesk feel. It's sad to see that the old man is gone, but I'm happy to see how they have tried to replace it.

Amberlyn Cross

Amazing view and great how they set it up so anyone at any age can see what the man on the mountain is. If you haven't gone I was highly recommend going:)

Oleg Lapin

Nice. Even if the formation itself is gone, this site enables you to see how it was before.

Terri Tuttle

At the Tramway parking lot, right at the basin, there is a nice nature walk in Franconia Notch...A great place to get out and stretch your legs when trekking further north.

Donna Wilson

Staff members nice, helpful. Beautiful area.

Mary Kay Weidner

Even though the old man has fallen, the monument and sculpture they put up is fascinating. Lovely short hike to get there. Very worthwhile.

Awesome helpful staff in the little shop. Interesting recreation with the perspective faces, THE OLD MAN IS GONE.

Eli Johnson

It's worth the walk down to the site. They have a big area to view where he used to be. Including an area where you can stand and line up with metal poles with the old man on top, so it looks like he's still there.
