Interesting and we'll presented history of the telephone. This year's exhibit of the telephone in movies was fun. I also enjoyed talking to the knowledgeable ladies at the front desk. Well worth the drive! I hadn't expected to stay as long as I did, and I would have liked to stay longer to read the many informative signs describing each display.

Great experience. I strongly recommend it. The staff were so helpful and nice. There is a lot to see so leave at least 2 hours. We didn't get to see everything because we had some time constraints. We used the app that you can download for free and it was quite helpful. Gave a good description on the tour around the museum. The firefighters museum for Warner is downstairs. It's apparently moving soon so if you have a chance, after the museum tour go downstairs and look at the fire engines and equipment. That should only take about 15 minutes. Great for all ages.

AWESOME place to go to. Someone stayed after closing hours. Gave a guided tour after 3:00 when that's the last one they give. Good lecture given.

A surprisingly enjoyable time. Four of us spent 1.5 hrs there during the Kearsarge Maple Festival weekend and really enjoyed our experience. We were giving a tour by Paul, who I believe founded the museum. He was a very nice chap and incredibly informed and passionate about the history of the phone and telecommunications in New England. He had a lot of interesting personal stories to share. It's not just a museum about phones--it's also about how small towns and farmers started becoming connected to each other. There are lots of museum pieces that you are allowed to touch, but it would be fun if they had a reconstructed switch board where you could practice answering and transferring calls. A few more hands-on activities would be appreciated.

Very interesting. We visited during a rainy week of camping. Was very informative. It will bring back memories for those of us born in the pre cell phone era. Enjoy

A hidden treasure in New Hampshire. While staying in henniker we came across this museum. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and both my parents had such a great time. We visited from Connecticut and highly recommend checking this place out. The firefighters museum connected to the same building is worth a look. They have chairs to sit down in around the place for anyone that cant stand for long periods. Awesome place.

Makes you appreciate your cell phone going to this museum

I really enjoyed my visit to this small museum. I learned a lot from the essentially personal tour my son and I got when we visited during the week in September. There was a lot of information and facts presented in a fun manner and which explained a lot of trivia, like why some of the first area codes got the number 1 in the middle and others got the number 0. Easy to understand how the old switchboards operated, and you can "ring up" a mallard phone and hear it quack for it's ringtone. Fun! Absolutely recommended.

Everyone has a phone, this museum gives you a close up look at all respects of development from Bell filing his patent right through today's smart phone. All ages will enjoy a visit; staff are, friendly, professional, well trained, and extreamly knowledgeable. You'll have a fun, enjoyable and fascinating walk through history, well worth an afternoon in the quaint New Hampshire village

Since I like history the telephone museum is an interesting place to see the evolution of the phone, reminisce about phones you had when you were young and see different designs. Great place to teach kids about the fact life want always cell and smart phones. Pair it up with the fireman museum just behind it and the look around down Warner you have a nice morning/afternoon.

NHTM is a little jewel hidden away in southern NH. The concept of a museum showcasing the independent telephone companies that sprang up shortly after Mr. Bell's invention became popular, was the brainchild of one man who owned one of those little companies, and his son who spent his career in the same field. Alderic (Dick) Violette and son Paul have done an outstanding job of collecting, collating, and exhibiting all manner of telephone equipment from the last hundred-plus years. The staff of three are every bit as knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all the bits and pieces. It's a great way to enjoy a little "side trip" and likely learn a few things to boot.
