I absolutely LOVE this museum! There is so much culture and nature to learn about! The tour guides do a great deal to make sure they answer your questions before you leave and sometimes staff will send a follow up email if you couldnt get answers that day! The events are even more amazing and Bud and Nancy are such inspirational people for making a place like this a home to so many folks!

Elizabeth Cullity

Nice but limited. Staff knowledgeable.

An amazing place to learn about a culture that has been around for a long time and is still here today. The artifacts are amazing, as well as the Medicine Woods that have many plants and trees that are integral to the native culture.

Charles-Remy Chapman

To be expected, a little on the small side

Anita Mendes

The Staff that showed us around did more than answer our questions. We were shown why American Indians were so successful fisherman, designing clothing from natural resources. As a culture living without our current resources, Mt Kearsarge Staff showed us how Indian choices and ingenuity worked to provide resources for a culture that was not mechanized. It showed me how American Indian culture provided not only for its own people, but designed options for obtaining healthy food, clothing, & transport for those who were willing to listen & share.

Christine Kesselring

Way more than expected. A real exhibit / museum experience, tucked away on the hip of Mt Kearsarge. A destination. Great for kids and adults.

The museum is very small but it very well laid out and I was surprised at how many artifacts they have. Our guide did a wonderful job of explaining Native American life throughout North America. I want to go back when the weather is warmer so I can walk the Medicine Woods trail.

A great family, school, or camp event to go to. Mt. Kearsarge is an amazing place to visit. Everyone should at least visit once to experience this wonderful historical place. Thank you Mt. Kearsarge for a special place to spend with my family.

I used to go every year with my school or summer camp. My grandfather also used to bring me because he was friends with the owner, and I am also native American and he wanted to immerse me in as much information about my history as he could; and this is the place to do it!! I continue to go every summer with my mother, brother and family of my own to the powwow! We never miss it! It makes me feel closer to my ancestry and would miss this place if it every went away! GO VISIT IT! :)

Wonderful museum, beautiful grounds, many artifacts, welcoming people. Very interesting and fun way to learn about our indigenous people and their culture.

Probably not a fair rating as the place was closed with no reason listed or info provided on the internet. The half acre nature trail was open with plenty of gray squirrels.

Joanne S

Very nice and educational! There is a lot to look at.

Sammy Drapeau

Amazing history about every tribe for adults to learn and young ones to learn. It is my favorite museum. Also if you are part native American Indian you get in free.

This very small museum has a lot to offer. It has sections that cover several regions of Native American tribes. The guided tour provided by the volunteer is good, but they do not know everything about the exhibits. They offered to ask the expert staff and send us an email with the answers. I recommend a visit.

This is not worth the $9 admission fee. It’s very small for that cost. It’s out of the way too. The museum itself would be amazing at half that price.

Very nice museum, with a wonderful collection of native American artifacts and artwork from across America. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth a visit. It was beginning to rain as we left the museum, so will have to go back to explore the associated trails and revisit the displays.

This is a wonderful gathering of Native American creations, steeped in history, and beautifully displayed in regional settings. They offer programs, tours, and many informational presentations for adults and children. We enjoy each visit! The Annual Powwow was last weekend, and truly a delight! Dancers from many Native Nations were present, traditionally dressed in their regalia, dancing to the heartbeat of the Drums, honoring our Earth Mother and the People.

Riko Goto

Nikki Stuhlmiller

While the museum is great and has a lot of native history you won't see anywhere else, visit during a Pow Wow. Admission to the event also covers the musuem. And take a few moments to walk the nature trail. You will not be disappointed.

Joan W

Fantastic collection based on Bud Thompson's finds as a young man! Guided tours are available everyday from noon til 3 pm. Or you can schedule a group tour for your school, organization, or even for your out-of-town guests. Wonderful inter-tribal education. Start in the Northeast Woodlands and "travel" across the country to end in the Northwest. Don't miss their annual Powwow the second weekend in July! The Museum Store is stocked with books, toys, jewelry, herbals, local and Native crafts, and much more. A true gem "in the middle of nowhere"!!

Mike Belanger

Good beautiful Monday morning. My husband and I visited Mt Kearsage Indian Museum a few weeks ago and we are so happy to have done so as it was the highway sign that attracted us. The museum is most beautiful. The native pieces are amazing and well preserved. I wish we could have stayed longer. Chi Miigwetch for taking such good care of our Native Traditions. Sincerely, Elaine Hart (Métis)

WONDERFUL

Wide variety of authentic items.

A great place to go to learn more about Indian culture, but kids will go through the museum pretty quickly, so if it's a long drive, it's best to go when they have a special event going on, like maple sugaring demonstrations, Pow Wow, etc. The little forest is also only a short walk, though when we went we also climbed up the nearby hill. Coming to the Pow Wow was a wonderful experience for my daughter, who still talks about it 4 years later.
