A great museum! It was the best part of my trip to Vegas, I loved the dinosaur and all the live fish.
A great museum of varied natural history focus. Egyptian dioramas are especially great for kids!
This is a great place to take your kids. It's very entertaining and interesting. I have to admit I enjoyed it too. Definitely love the fish tanks! The gift shop has very reasonable prices.
Absolutely amazing!! Friendly staff, our fave was the onsite Paleontologist and dinosaur exhibit along with the Egyptian exhibit. Excellent prices as well, my entire family was pleased. Thank you so much for an excellent experience!!
Super kid friendly very educational and interactive! A must visit, super friendly staff
Had a great time with my 5 year old daughter and the whole kindergarten grade from her school. We had an amazing time.
The museum is small, but it packs a lot into a small area and has a plethora of variety in exhibits. Everyone was super friendly and it was cool to see the area where they cleaned and prepared fossils. The building and amenities feel slightly dated, but that doesn't diminish from the richness of their displays.
Reasonable entry fee (military discount!), well laid out, nice place and friendly people. Great dinosaur show, along with King Tut.
Kids will love this museum.
Fun and very interesting. The guides were very knowledgeable.
Great place and I think kids will enjoy it.
We have visited lots of museums and this place is one of the worst in America! It was really disappointing to me, since Nevada is my home state. The staff wasn't friendly at all. One guy was on a power trip or something. He patrolled the museum to snap at little kids and bark orders to the adults. He tried to tell me about a display and I was so irritated I just ignored him. Maybe he should tell kids about the displays instead of yelling at them. The displays were really light on information. The taxidermy work was pretty good, but the animals just had their name listed. No map showing where they live, no details on them, nothing but the name of the animal. Parking was free, probably the best part of the museum. We got in with our ASTC membership and it cost us $6. Might be worth that. I would have been mad if I had paid the $42 it would normally have cost our family of 5 to visit.
Great fun for the whole family! Easy to get to and park.
Spent several hours there and my family enjoyed every minute. Perfect for family with children! They were all really engaged. Staff are nice and friendly. Learned a lot of new information.
I gem of wonder and information!! There's something there for every scientist, big and small, even the ones who don't know they're scientist yet!!!
An amazing place here in LV. Great for kids and families. Great for groups. Very well kept. Everyone is very informed, very nice, and helpful. I like bringing my kids here. There are activities for all ages. Fish feedings, animal petting, explorations. A must visit.
Cool place to take your kids and family
They always have new exhibits and one day they hadTaiko Drumming.
We absolutely loved the dinosaur exhibit! The animation and vocalizations of the dinosaurs is amazing! Fun excavating activities for children! So many other things to see there too! Highly recommend this museum!
Wish I had known about this sooner. My 3 year old loved it. I foresee spending many hot summer days here.
A nice museum with exhibits of preserved animals, fossils, minerals, a little aquarium with a pool of small sharks, rays, horseshoe crabs. The dinosaur exhibit has a faceoff between a T-rex and Triceratop that roar and have some animatronic movements. There is a kids zone that inclues a tank of seahorses and hands on displays. The Egyption that includes a reproduction of King Tuts burial chambers. There is a small room with vending machines and tables and a gift shop.
What an amazing museum. You will spend a good 2-3 hrs. Worth the cost, and for small kids. My kids love dinosaurs, and the exhibit did not disappoint. Amazing staff as well.
Wonderful museum definitely recommend checking the place out whole you are in Vegas!
Active animal/reptile petting
My 3 year old son loves this place. So we got a year pass.It really is a hidden treasure here in Las Vegas.
It's a very quaint museum. Not a place to spend a lot of time but nice for a break away from the Strip and a good opportunity to see some of the geological history of the area. They have some quaint exhibits, like the dinosaur one. Good place for kids!
This should be considered a small children's zoo and information center. Upon entering, you would never guess this to be a museum. Decorations are gaudy and cluttered with political and religious references. A live scorpion is kept in a small box (less than one square foot) to be tortured by a UV light by patrons (scorpions are very sensitive to light and are negatively phototactic). Other live marine animals (i.e. fish) are kept in an aquarium. No actual real artifacts are seen throughout the galleries, and one "exhibit" is being passed with just one item - a screen in the wall with a picture and some descriptions. The stuffed animals are ragged and dusty. NOT WORTH IT!
My kids loved the interactive dinosaur exhibit. Plenty of fun, educational things to do there. The kids had lots of things to touch, and play with. My parents are avid hikers, and were excited to see the local wildlife exhibit. Staff was super friendly, and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back.
Kind of outdated but a nice place for kids to learn some fun facts.
Always awesome. Great exhibits. Well structured. Highly respectable and impressive appreciation of culture and history.
Wonderful place, the young guy that handles the reptiles ect with the kids is awesome, my son very much enjoyed it!
I loved looking at the natural history of the wild animals and the natural wonders of the world
Wow, amazing place, to learn for adults and kids, it's so big it takes about 2 hrs to finish, they have activities for the kids, amazing and the price wow amazing, there gift Shop is not even expensive like other gift shops.
The Marine room was so cool! We watched an employee feed the sharks, an eel, fish that share a tank with the eel, and the frog fish. He also gave some information about the marine life they have at the museum, very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum is quite large and you could easily spend three hours there. Awesome place for children and everyone can learn something new.
They try. It's a small natural history museum; way too small for a metropolitan area of 2,000,000 people. Many displays are older. And it's in a really sh@tty part of town. Bums all over the parking lot. But they try.
Absolutely a great place to explore. We arr locals and I love rotating exhibits. A place the family can come to learn. I homeschool and the Natural History Museum was Great!
Over priced for the limited space but a must see for local children
This is a great little museum. I am glad I took the time to visit. Plan on 2 to 3 hours.
We’ve been to many Muesuems and this one is very good! Lots and lots to see. Expect to take 1-3 hours to see and interact with everything.
Friendly staff, good prices, great indoor museum, great for kids any age
Only went in the gift shop as we were on a time crunch.... looked a really good museum...loved the gift shop and the lady who served us was lovely!!
My 4 year old had an amazing time. Will be back again.
It has live fish and some snakes, and it is specially a great place for kids. We watched a Japanese drum show. I wish it had a dining place inside.
Not a large museum. Don't come expecting you can spend hours but what they have is intriguing enough for small children, especially the animatronic dinosaurs. Whether you're with children or not expect to spend no more than 2 hours tops, and that's being generous. Try to time your visit with one of the many special activities they arrange and it will make your visit that much more memorable.
Its ok. Ive been going here since I was in kindergarten. And only one room has changed. Its the same old same old every time I vist the place. And most of the stuff there is broken or falling apart.
Cool place to check out and great for kids! The museum is not that big and can be done in less than a couple hours. Check out the shark feeding if you have time, we were lucky enough to catch it and it made the visit more memorable.
Perfect for the kids! They were all really engaged. Perfect for different ages. Great for homeschooling. Lots of very detailed information on each display.
Fun place to learn about history and science and keep the kids busy for a couple of hours
Had a great time and enjoyed learning more about world history with my family
The museum has about 10 different show rooms, it is great to get out of the 115 weather and see all the history. An employee told me that a lot of the fossils they have dug up came right from the Vegas Valley. The only thing that brought down my rating is the cleaninleness/ aged exhibits. My fav is the king Tut exhibit n Egypt room.
Pretty good for a city of this size. Was entertaining for adults and kids.
Very exciting interactive displays. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Very clean and well organized
Nice place to visit. Well kept and informative.
Really fun, but I hope they update their exhibits sometime. Those poor taxidermy animals look so sad. The fossils are amazing though!
It was fun for the kids and adults. Cool and informative exhibits.
Great little educational museum especially for small children.
Great for learning, good for the price. Wish we had more places like it in Vegas.
Good place to take your family for a day Entry fee is so affordable and all the animals you see in my photos they looks so real..because they are ...stuff and preserved
Average natural history museum. We went on a weekday and there was very little people there so it was easy to get around. We got to observe the feeding of the lion fishes and eel and the handler was very nice and allowed our grandson to watch up close. Very average displays.
Great little place, my family and kids enjoyed it.
Very interesting was nice for kids to see thy mind learn a lot
Meh. I expected more. My son is a budding paleontologist so I took him hoping for a good dinosaur exhibit. Disappointing. Animatronics but no actual skeletons. Quite a few of the interactive exhibits had non working features like buttons that didn't do anything. For that price it's not bad. But compared to some of the other natural history museums we've visited in other cities it falls well below par. Some good points were the African exhibit and the Egyptian room.
This is a true treasure of Las Vegas. The little kid area back behind the dinosaur exhibit is very enjoyable. What I love most about this place, other than the courteous staff, is that every time you go you will discover or notice something new. The membership also gets you discounts or e trance to TONS of other affiliates around the country.
Way better than gambling.
For the $12 entrance fee, it was a good museum. Especially the Egyptian amd African exhibits. And I got to talk with a real paleontologist.
Great historical facts and fun for the kids. Parents as well if you love history and fun displays.
The city can and should do better. A good job of working with what they have though.
Easy, fun and educational way to entertain kids. Dont tell them they are learning something..shhhhh..our secret.
VERY DISAPPOINTING! Unless you get your tickets free and want to only waste auto gas..DON'T bother. Can spend better time at connecting site ( Mormon Fort & Helen Jane Wiser-Stewart first lady of Las Vegas). Or visit Mob Museum and/or other landmark sites. If you're ages 3 to 8 you might get an experience but not developed for adults.....and I'm car-based in education!
Never been to this museum and was pleasantly surprised. The plave was very engaging amd entertaining especially for my children. I plan on returning as soon as I can becaise my kids fell in love with the place. Awesome exibits
2 year olds loved it plus they were free hehe
My 6 year old loves it. Lots of fun stuff to do. I didn’t realize dinosaurs where still alive lol:)
haven't been back to this since I was a little girl and just took my two young children. Ages 3 and to respectfully and we had a wonderful time. The dinosaurs may be scary for some children but mine loved it. Bring snacks though, they have a vending machine but not many vegan and healthy options. Though it does take debit cards. also enjoyed that the gift shop was off in the corner and can be completely bypassed if needed to. Wonderful place!
The guy in charge thought we were lottering, when we went to find out info and we're waiting for another too...
It's always the best.
Great place to bring the young ones. We have been here for 10 minutes and there are lots of good learning activities already. Highly recommended for the inquisitive little ones.
LV Natural History is a small museum with lots of exhibits that kids will like. Staff was nice and helpful. Prices are fair. Parking is free. Overall, its a great educational place for kids.
It is a great educational place for children, but as an adult I didn't really enjoy it that much. Only the dinosaur display awakened my inner child
I learned a lot
Small but nice
Awesome place n learned alot
Great place to take the kids.
This museum was small yet managed to be completely thorough. We especially enjoyed watching a real paleontologist in the lab processing 45 million year old mammoth teeth!
We go at least 4-6 times a year for their special events and the fact that they let teachers in for free (we still pay for our children obviously). We have to go through the Egypt exhibit every time we are there. Definitely worth a visit.
kids love this place amazing
A medium sized museum, but I enjoyed the exhibits. Excellent for children.
It was great very informative and lots of stuff to interact with
The kids loved the dinosaur exhibit and the animals.
Ridiculous experience for the price. So much amazing stuff. Highly recommended
Section off into categories. The place is small but very pa led of info. You can read through the exhibits in just a few hours. The dino section is super cool as they have dinotronic movement and sounds . The museum also has an aquatic section , Egyptian, African, mammals of the present Nd past comparisons And more. The gift shop I'd reasonably priced for the little ones too..
The workers add to this museum. They are friendly and knowledgeable.
Reasonable prices on toys in the gift shop too. The critter time was pretty cool, short and sweet and you get to touch the animals and learn about them
The museum was nice and decent size! They have a few different rooms dedicated to different species/types of animals. They also offer veterans/military discount. Great place to take the kids.
Awesome place to bring the kiddos! Reasonable prices on toys in the gift shop too. The critter time was pretty cool, short and sweet and you get to touch the animals and learn about them
This was a cool little place. Ive been a local for years and didnt know about this place til my kids field trip. We only got to see a few exhibits due to the field trip but everyone had a good time. I plan to return with my whole family and take rhe few hours we need to explore eveeything.
Love love love this place. Has a real paleontologist to tell you his findings in vegas area! My kids always want to go here on weekends
Great learning experience. Very informative.
It's a pretty cool museum. I wish the exhibits were a bit bigger. There is about 5-8 exhibits but most of them are a small one room thing. However the Egyptian exhibit is amazing and is definitely a place to visit.
This place is awesome Nice place for children to learn the history of the Vegas valley and a whole lot more .
This is, somehow, exactly what you expect a natural history museum in Las Vegas to look like.
Relaxing museum.
This museum isn't as small as it looks from the outside. The exhibits were well kept and interesting. The Egyptian portion of it was my favorite but the dinosaur exhibit was awesome! We bought a membership and I will take my grandkids there when they come to see me! The staff were so nice! Love this place
Friendly staff, good prices, great indoor museum, great for kids any age
Super friendly staff. Nice Geo exhibit. Small but nice for a couple of hours with kids to learn something. Worth the price and you can get discount with AAA membership.
It was a great place to visit and learn about the local habitat.
A solid museum without a lot of flash. Dinosaur exhibit is one of the better ones. Human origins was good but a decade or so out of date. Egypt exhibit accomplished a lot with very little; would have liked origin+age/replica status on each part though. Aquatic area was good, guy cleaning the lionfish aquarium was great. Wildlife was nice, especially the local exhibit.
I took my two-year-old and four-year-old boys here, and they absolutely loved it. They have so many (stuffed and preserved) animals, including tigers giraffes lions panthers leopards bison and more. There are also a bunch of (live) sea animals, including turtles, rays, and many other fish. There are also mechanical dinosaurs, which my kids loved. You can make the move and make noises by pushing buttons. There's also an actual paleontologist lab, we're scientists are working to look at things under microscopes, and clean up fossil discoveries. My boys got to hold a triceratops spinal bone, which was the highlight of our visit. There's also an ancient Egypt exhibit. The building itself was built decades ago, and the building, floors, walls all exhibited their age, but who cares?
Much bigger than it looks. Lots of fun things to see. We were able to see the sharks being fed. That was my favorite part. The feeders told us all about the sharks and other creatures and were fun to talk to.
It has some cool exhibits. Definitely great with kids from 6 to 10. A couple times a week they feed the sharks. Good way to kill a couple hours web it's hot out.
Who knew...Natural History Museum in Vegas. Nice little museum to get out of the heat and give kids a bit of education. They enjoyed the shark pool and feeding time.
Amazing family fun and activities
A great stop for the kids! Lots of stuff to look at and touch. They do feedings for the animals so I think children would enjoy that. A little pricey for my taste, but in Vegas, what do you expect
It was very informational, you were able to see historical relics, and pet live animals. Can't wait to come back and visit again!
Love it here. Its gets better and better each time
Very cool little museum and an excellent break from the glitz and glamour and congestion on the strip. The kids all enjoyed the different exhibits, especially that of the dinosaurs, sea life and King Tutankhamun. Some of the portions of the museum seemed a bit dated but overall an excellent educational pitstop
Fantastic for kids aged 3-8! Small enough where they don't get tired, large enough so they don't get bored!
They are trying Damn it
Dated facility and geared towards young kids. They do have helpful and friendly staff.
Good place to spend sometime...
It was nice. Some of the staff need to learn how to handle special needs children a little better but that's it.
Great place to take the family. Very affordable and my sons love the park that is located right behind the museum. Oh there is also a mini sea quest section within the museum that may kids loved.
My first time there. While visiting Las Vegas went with my family. My grandkids and I had a wonderful time. They love the giant T Rex. Sorry the other room full of dinosaurs was gone. Love all the different rooms. We especially like the room with the bears and reindeer. Very informative. My grandson never tires of digging up fossils. Staff was very knowledgeable. Its worth the trip.
This place was so awesome. Way bigger than it looks and has many exhibits. Toooons of taxidermy animals and their massive!
A nice but rather small museum. It's a good, short visit, but doesn't have enough to make it an extended visit.
This place is amazing! Had my son his birthday party here and we are beyond great full for the service we got! Connie and the other young lady were so patient with the kids during the animal encounter! All the staff is super nice and welcoming, they were all very helpful! I definitely would recommend this place to come visit or even for a birthday party! Will definitely be coming back I am super satisfied with the service!
A pleasant place to spend time with kids and Family. Learned a lot about our natural history. Nice and Friendly staff! I recommend this place!
This is a hidden gem in Las Vegas. Who knew this Smithsonian satellite was here to explore with your little science obsessed kids.
Had fun great place to go for the kids to learn something and get out of the house.
Obviously the city of Las Vegas is not going to contribute much to museums like this so I wasn't expecting much. This place is a bit run down and the exhibits are super old but you can really feel the spirit of education as soon as you walk in. The employees made this place great. They were attentive, excited, engaging and knowledgeable. I can't speak highly enough of them! I'm giving five stars to those amazing people who are doing the best with what they have and continuing the spirit of curiosity and knowledge one gains from visiting a museum. Good job guys!
Great place for kids. If you work for ccsd you get in for free with id.
Very interactive and great for the whole family. It's easy to self guide but there's ample and knowledgeable staff to answer questions. Every display was a hit with the whole family. My youngest is 5 yo. We're visiting family from out of town and next time I'll get a membership so we can go for multiple visits as the day we spent there was not enough!
There is more to this museum than meets the eye! We spent several hours there and enjoyed every minute. Even at my age I learned a lot. It's a nice, reasonably priced diversion from the casinos.
Pretty good place to go lots of activities and interaction inside the museum
Great AC and interactive dinosaur display. They also have a petting aquarium. My son (5 yrs old) and I loved it.
A great place for families!
Great and educational. I spent about 2 and a half hrs here. For $12, how could you not go?
They have done a beautiful job. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Fantastic museum. Great exhibits. Affordable and friendly staff. Will definitely come back.
AMAZING!!!! Did you know that dolphins are part of the whale family? That sharks lose teeth when they eat and replace as many as 25,000 teeth in a lifetime? That the teeth of a viperfish are so sharp and long that if it closed its mouth with the teeth inside, it would pierce its brain?
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The first weekend of the month, Bank of America gives out free admission to card holders soy friend and I got in for free. The museum is not as big as the Natural History Museum of Los Angels but it does offer its own wide verity of exhibitions.
The Mormon fort was so neat! It's super reasonable to get in at only 3 dollars a person. There's a bunch of relics from that time all through the place. A good section of the wall and one tower are still standing and you can walk around inside of it. There's a bunch of pictures and even a movie to tell you about its history. And a little creek with a coy pond as well. Very worth it as a tourist!
Nice place for kids
Great Egypt exhibit, but wont be there for long.
Great place to spend a couple of hours, my four year old loved it, but I'd imagine older kids would too. Plenty of hands on exhibits, the dinosaur hall was great, there's also a kid's activity section.
Great place for kids ! Can be an all day trip. Use a Groupon for extra value. Lots of activities for the kids with A Lot of walking talk water and snacks.
Perfect size for two active and curious toddlers. Not so big, therefore, manageable! The museum has several different exhibits to explore. Loved their dianosaur exhibit as well as marine life room. We appreciated friendly staff answering questions and enjoyed hands on activities such as digging for fossils and riding toy dinosaurs!
Don't oversee that nice little museum with the history of last Vegas.
