Here you have all the reviews of people who purchased the services of Goldwell Open Air Museum (Museum) in the state of Nevada.
At present the business has a rating of 4.4 stars over 5 and the rating is based on 424 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an reviews average is very high, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we can conclude that the evaluation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their score when they are pleased with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to set reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum is included in the category of Art museum.
This is a stop to make on your way to visit the Rhyolite Ghost town. Very interesting outdoor art to say the least. The Last Supper is haunting in its appearance especially in the late day light. Add this to your Death Valley experience.
Amazing!
Super neat. Kinda eerie.... NO cell service.... Can't even access data. With the drive from Vegas!
I liked it. Amazing that folks would build so much, chasing gold or silver.
Cool little open air museum if your in the area. Lots of art pieces to take picture off and exploring the area. It's very hot in the summer season drink lots of water. It was 95 degree the first week of September.
Cool place to stop in and visit
Different, but interesting
Crazy little museum in an old ghost town. Definitely worth a stop as they have some interesting sculptures and art pieces. Very eerie at night, we seen some nat geo photographers walking around there and rhyolite at night. Very interesting.
It was super creepy because of all the fog however I will definitely visit here again.
This place is pretty cool but i wish I could go in the buildings.
Creepy and surreal art. Worth a stop, or at least drive by if you're too weirded out to stop.
A strange open air museum in the middle of nowhere. Cool art. Hot environment.
Very unique and cute. Well worth seeing if you're in the area.
So glad we took the advice of our waiter and stopped here. It was an interesting place in a town where we spent 2 hours longer than we first allowed, but 2 hours less than we wanted. FREE.
Random cool spot in a ghost town. Watch out for lots of broken glass and rusty nails if you have kids or dogs.
What a fantastic idea! The Open Air Museum is a great addition to the Ghost Town right next door. Very instagramable and we even got some good video. Watch out for all the little nails all over the place near the visitors center. There used to be 100's of old buildings all over the place and the nails would have to be over 100 years old. Not good to get a flat tyre out in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise great place. We spent over an hour taking photographs and enjoying the art installation. Have fun!
Good place to know all about aviation
Little museum at Rhyolite. Interesting, knowledgeable gentleman that was willing to tell all kinds of stories. He also makes incredible Indian Wood flutes. Reasonably priced. Take a few minutes and stop in to say hello.
Interesting historical bits and items, some nice artwork. The Mrs. bought an Indian flute here and now I actually enjoy listening to her play.
I was a little disappointed, but am still glad we went. I thought there were going to be more statues than what I had seen online. Bring a pair of old tennis shoes, they have a shoe tree. Gift shop was interesting, with a very nice employee
I think it is the most unlucky American museum. it's not worth visiting only if you're in the area ... it's not as it says. I was disappointed with what I saw. it's actually a joke to get into the area. nothing special
There are some very strange items to see. Stop in if you are ever in the area.
OK this is a good place not far off the main road to walk around for 15 minutes. I enjoyed it because I got there early morning before other tourists started showing up. It is next to Rhyolite a mining ghost town that attracts most visitors. It's free so stop and enjoy some art.
Certainly different, out of the way. Love to see historic places here in Nevada!
Pretty interesting. Man that runs the place is very knowledgeable. Says he's been there over 40 years!
If you are close to this place, good to see. It is nor worth to drive only for this
Expected more for a museum than a shack with some newspaper clippings. The art outside was cool, except for the "pixal girl". That was a little inappropriate for children in my opinion.
The artist residency element of this museum is the best part. For the ghost town side of things, Rhyolite town is just a little further up the road.
Interesting place in rhyolite Nevada used to be old mining town has some old mining exhibits. House is made of bottles.
A iconic place to stop on the way to Rhyolite.
Cool place, interesting sculptures.
Was real fun! The ghost town and the museum are great.
Cool place
Rhyolite ghost town features a bottle house and several artists works. The exhibit is free and is an easy drive from the NP. Please watch your children and respect the art work.
This is an interesting outdoor museum that contrasts the stark desert background with various sculptures that really makes them quit photogenic. A must stop in the Death Valley National Park area
Great art in the middle of no where worth it to explore.
Pretty cool, a neat place to take pictures after you visit the ghost town
Really cool spot...esp if you know the history &/or also check out Rhyolite. We spent a couple hours walking around enjoying the ghost town, museum & cemetary.
Nice side trip not far off the main road. Hard to imagine there were around 10,000 people here in the early 1900,s!
Fun little diversion. It’s right by the Rhyolite ghost town. It has a bathroom in the vicinity, but no sink to wash afterwards, so bring hand sanitizer. Cool sculptures.
Pretty unique place. If you are in the area to see the ghost town make sure to stop in. I would drive miles out of your way to visit though.
It's free so it's hard to beat that, the art is interesting and worth a look if you're in the area. I wouldn't recommend a special trip just for this, but if you're heading to Death Valley or driving through Beatty it's not that far out of the way.
Tiny in a small portable trailer, BUT worth the peek in! Volunteers run the museum and are always full of knowledge about Rhyolite and the connections between the ghost town and Beatty. They do sell souvenirs!
there is a few more statues since 10 yrs ago. new barn for new artists to show pieces.
Very weird place. Giving it 2 stars because the little museum is actually pretty interesting but everything outside is completely bizarre. Would not go again. Not worth the drive there.
Art in the desert, what's not to like!
It wouldn't be a road trip in Nevada or the Southwest without stopping by this charmingly eccentric site of public art! Free to all, a variety of sculptures are tucked into the Nevada desert outside of Death Valley. Most fun to interact with are the ghosts of The Last Supper.
Amazing art, and installations. Great for photography, and hikers too!
Love the old west but this is not my cup of tea
I loved this place a lot of things in this little place. Must see if you're in this area it's next to a ghost town.
Very interesting!
It's still worth to stop by and see what's new. Something different to all the Tourist hot spots ****
Very fun place to visit. Dogs even liked it. :-)
Definitely worth the stop into Death Valley. Cool art installations and a neat little walk down memory lane
Awesome place to stop and wander around for a hour. I suggest just as the sun is setting! Definitely get some good pictures around that time, plus it adds to the spooky-ness of the area
Cutest little ghost town in the west.
Super interesting. Very small, unique and peculiar place. Great place to make a pit stop and stretch your legs.
The art is very cool here.
This museum is free, but it has a small gift shop manned by the guy who oversees this place. The art is queer and stark, interesting contrast to the crumbling nearby ruins. I am not religious, but I liked "The Last Supper" ghosts the most. Like the town of Rhyolite, it isn't worth it to make a pilgrimage all the way out here just for the Goldwell Open Air Museum, but it's a nice side trip.
Neat wagon
It was closed and the road was unkept and it gave my a flat tire. Because of the tiny unkept road to this place I was stuck in the middle of no where with a flat tire. Better not test your luck and park on the main road.
Very interesting a and nice gentleman greeting us at the museum.
Very weird museum. If you like weird stuff this is your place. It's worth the trip if you're in the area.
Awesome place and I would definitely recommend it. It's easy accessible from highway. I had lots of fun there. Many great opportunities for pictures
Must see if you are in the ghost town - eclectic sculptures. Glass bottle house in the same town.
Good art. Great history!
I came across a picture of this place on pinterest and thought it looked pretty neat. So my wife and I took a day trip from Vegas up to see it. It's a small little museum and a ghost town. Pretty cool, especially the white ghost silhouettes.
This is an amazing place. Art plus the abandoned town...well worth the drive. Check out the photos of the lightning strikes taken by the museum curator on site.
The outside art work was all very interesting. The rounds were kept up. The small free museum was interesting. The gentleman running it was very knowledgeable, made wood flutes and even played one for us!
Nah... I suppose it’s ok, but only because it’s an easy stop when visiting Rhyolite.
Different, worthy of a open minded visit
Some things you never expect to find in the desert, other things naturally just seem to belong there. The Last Supper sculpture featured at the goldwell open air museum is one of those things. It doesn't hurt that it's located right next to a Ghost Town, Rhyolite Ghost Town. If you're native to southern Nevada and you want to get away and see something different... this is a good destination.
Spontaneous trip to Death Valley and stumbled across this gem on the way back to Vegas. So glad we took the time to stop!
Strange connection of outdoor art.
The sculptures are random and unexpected, and the history and archaeology is fascinating! There’s more than meets the eye when looking through a driving car window. Worth getting out and taking a look. the road to the cemetery is long but fairly low-clearance sedan-okay.
Fantastic free art museum in Rhyolite. Highly recommended if you're in Death Valley.
Very ghostly!
Awesome and unique sculptures I had a fantastic time taking in the scenery and getting some really unique photos loved it!
Fabulous outdoor museum! We enjoyed our time walking around here, while touring Death Valley.
Neat museum with lots of historical items. They have some cool old equipment.
Awesome unusual art exhibit out in the middle of the desert. Worth the drive and right next to the Rhyolite ghost town.
Very quirky and worth a stop off if you're visiting Rhyolite anyway!
It's ok if you are stopping on the way to something else. IMO...
Photo Genic point!!!
We were there February 2, 2019 it was a beautiful rainy day. The museum was a surprise. If you like old stuff the buildings are breath taking. I live how the clouds made the town look spooky.
Fun stop! Stretch your legs, see some art, and visit a ghost town.
Awesome spooky place to go at night
Interesting modern art
Other worldly.
Haunting sculptures at this museum. Very fitting for an old ghost town. I would like to come back here in a full moon night. And on Halloween.
Super creepy and right near the ghost town. Pokemon gym here too.
Well some of us are hard working Americans that take a vacation once every 5 year, yep we're tourist, not out of work elitist traveling on dad's retirement. It's a refreshing sight to see after looking at the desert for hours at a time. The local art is original, no doubt. Fun stop before Death Valley.
This ghost town is quite well preserved. There is a small museum, an outdoor sculpture garden, and numerous old structures to see and even walk through. If you come through Beatty you should definately make a stop here.
Great for taking pics!
Great information on the area.
Hauntingly beautiful, must see!
Neat free open air museum!
One of a kind outdoor museum. I found it incredibly unique and humorous. A most enjoyable place.
Dumb and unrelated to the ghost town
Fun stop before or after Death Valley or while visiting Rhyolite. Free pamphlets explain the artwork. Can't beat free!
A fun stop on the way in to Death Valley. The exhibits are intriguing and picturesque. I love that it's free and interactive.
Very funky little day trip from Vegas. If you like weird attractions and/or photography, you will love it.
Ghost....the last suffers so good!
Had to stop
Neat little outdoor place to see some art. We went because we were going to Rhyolite. I wouldn't stop otherwise, as there are only a few pieces of work.
This is a cute free musuem with Belgian art instillations. Free bathrooms past the ghost town.
Amazing and creative art! I would recommend this to anyone interested in art and history.
Great place to visit while you are in death valley!
Cool art and history museum on the edge of the Rhyolite ghost town. Be sure to check out the paintings of Rhyolite in the styles of famous artists. This and Rhyolite itself are both well worth the short detour on the way into Death Valley!
Interesting little outside museum. Ghosts in a ghosts town :)
A lot of variety of art, mainly sculptures. It is definitely a really cool place to stop and the guy that runs it is very friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate the more hands on, you're allowed and encouraged to touch it. It is also right next to the Ryholite ghost town which has a fascinating history itself. Be prepared to spend an hour or two here, it's worth it. No cell service but there is a small town close by called Beatty if you need gas or anything.
A new and creative to view large pieces of art. For outdoor people it is a treat to stay outdoor.
Just West of the sleepy town of Beatty NV. An excellent outdoor museum featuring actual structures of the heyday of Rhyolite a gold producing boom town in Nye county. Adjacent to Rhyolite is the open air Gold well museum with plenty of art and sculptures that are of interest to people of all ages. Within walking distance is Tom Kelly's bottle house mainly constructed with Anheiser-Busch beer bottles from long ago. The place is fun , interesting and free admission.
Eerie beauty in Death Valley.
The coolest, most offthebeatentrack art space ever!
Beautiful place by the sunset. Quirky and fun art and interesting story about the area.
Fantastic little find..
Interesting little self tour outdoor museum with local art along side the historical ghost town.
Very cool place to spend an afternoon!
Very interesting in the middle of nowhere. Check it out!
We stumbled upon this museum by accident after spending a couple of hours exploring Rhyolite. What a treat! Great photo ops and we wished we had arrived earlier as the sun was nearly down before we were finished poking around. This museum makes for a fun day trip from Las Vegas, a way to get some exercise and easy entertainment - great for the kids. Be sure to bring plenty of water so you can stay longer. I also suggest a hat and sturdy footwear, as this is the desert. Gravel/dirt roads are easily accessible and their is plenty of parking, even for oversize vehicles.
Spooky little ghost town with very bizarre art in a free open air museum. Bonus is you can get get there with a normal car.
it definitely gives one the impression that is only here because of people coming to visit the ghost town in Rhyolite. By all means, check out the art, but it's definitely not worth the trip in and of itself.
Interesting stuff
The museum is quaint, the real treat is talking to the guy in the museum about all of the art he has made very uplifting and sentimental.
Awesome place to visit! Way out in the middle of nowhere but if you're from someplace flat like Florida, the views are spectacular. The artwork there is unusual and quirky. Make sure your camera/phone batteries are fully charged. The photo ops are endless.
Accidentally found this place when visiting Rhyolite Ghost Town and had a look around. Not quite sure what it was all in aid of but it was very interesting with some nice pieces. It is unreasonable not here, as you might expect, seeing as it's in a desert, so we made a fleeting visit - would recommend suncream!
So much history. So much fun.
Really cool place! Accessible 24/7, all outdoors. Beatty is only 4 miles away, and there is an old railroad trail which connect Beatty to Rhyolite for avid trail runners and hikers alike! Worth a stop by on the way to Death Valley National Park!
Very interesting place we visited during our drive.
Great place to check out if you're visiting death valley. Lots of interesting art.
Great place just outside of Death Valley and 4miles from Beatty, NV. Stop by on the way to Beatty to get cheaper gas and a bite to eat.
AMAZING DISPLAY OF RANDOM ART AND ARTISTS. A DEFINITE VISIT IS RECOMMENDED AND IF YOU DARE TO? STAY TILL AFTER SUNSET!
This was a bucket list location for me. Great visit, free to see and near Death Valley.
A few outdoor art exhibits.
Very unusual and strange but still very beautiful. Is very creepy but worth the visit. You can hear voices in the wind when no one is there. Filled with many restless ghosts and spirits. Filled with lots of energy. Very historic and beautiful. Worth the time.
This museum is right next to Rhyolite This is a definite must see a place to go. Our boys had such a good time reading about the history and reading about the artifacts. You could get some great pictures when you’re visiting here and check out the history of the old coal mining town. Just make sure when you’re driving here that you don’t take the side roads because you will get to a dirt path that if you’re not driving a bigger SUV car it could damage your tires. So just make sure you stay on the main road when you’re driving her. It’s abo this is a definite must see place to go. Intresting place to visit
Very interesting open air museum and spoke to public if you any areas well worth seeing
Visited on the way to Death Valley. Made a loop from LV to Beatty to see the ghost town and Goldwell bottle house. Honestly, not impressed by that what we saw, but think worse to visit when you are around
Actually got the kid out the car and off her phone.
Really nice open air modern art museum set in the breathtaking desert views of #deathvalley
Burning Man like bizarre
Interesting musuem to visit for some extradinoary art form which represent the desserted ghost town of Ryolithe on the edge of the Death valley NP.
Super cool spot, short dirt road, hang out for awhile, sunrise and sunset make it extra special. The ghost town of Rhyolite is very cool too. #modernart
Love it
A fun and unique ghost town with plenty of photo opportunity for those who like this type of thing.
Funky art exhibit that is good for a bored day.
Imaginitive outdoor art out in the desert. Very cool! Don't miss if you're in the area.
This is an amazing place to visit. If you climb the mountains the old mines are still open and you can explore. There is an historic Cemetery just a few miles away.
Take a sack lunch but it is worth the wait to walk around to each area the beauty sculptures everything about this place is beautiful
Great place to see some real local history and very unique art.
We’ve been seeing this on travel Nevada’s IG and a little bit over the internet. It’s literally outside Beaty NV and it’s really nice. It’s art at a abandon town, in the middle of Rhyolite, NV. It’s very clean, no vandalism, and it’s nicely separated. The little museum was closed but it’s definitely something to check box out if you live in Nevada. My family enjoyed it.
So amazing! This is set up right next to Rhyolite and is just so interesting. The 'ghosts' are my favorite part of this art exhibit.
Interesting journey to the past must see only if you are passing by
Amazing place in the desert
Nice quick visit
Crazy and very nice place
