Visited this wonderful museum, February 2016. There is a building behind the museum that has all types of old vehicles - not just a few but a lot. There are many, many items behind the glass cases but not one case is crowded or jammed. If you ever have the chance and have to drive a little out of the way, take the time to see this museum. I'd say a lot of love and care went into making it what it is today.

Awesome museum with a lot of history and it is free! My favorite artifact was the mochila which is a leather pack that goes over the saddle. It was used in 1860 by the Pony Express to carry mail! I also loved the quilt that was made by some of the staff members of the museum. They have an interactive area for children and a cute gift shop too. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

It is a very small museum detailing the history of a very small place. there are a good variety of exhibits for the size and it is a good to learn about the history of the area. but overall you could probably see everything in the museum in 90 minutes and there's really not much of a reason to come back.but I would recommend it for anybody who is new to the area or visiting and is looking for something to do

Omgosh! This is by far one of the BEST museums I've ever visited. It is much bigger than it looks. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. It was absolutely amazing. It's free to enter, but they do ask for donations. Gift shop is small, but very well stocked and the prices were not outrageous like so many are.

In Fallon for a visit or just passing through. Either way treat yourself to a nice meal at one of the local restaurants and as your digest why not stroll about the local museum. I have lived in Fallon for several years and I will promise that this place will not disappoint. Churchill county is part of the high desert of western Nevada. Sure it is lush and green now but it was not always so. Pioneers of bygone years have spent their lives working, living, loving and dying to make it so. That vast expanse of sand and sage that you have just easily sped through in your air conditioned auto to get here took them months to traverse in wagons, on horseback, or walking. Their story is one of hardships and perseverance. Yet it is rich in warmth and sacrifice. Stop in and visit with them for a short while. Learn about your own history from their story. Chances are you're ancestry is somewhere out there in that sage and sand too. The price is only a small gratuity and a little time, but the joy and new found knowledge far exceeds the expense. By the way, "Welcome to Fallon enjoy your stay and please stop in again anytime you can."
