Great piece of Nevada history. We went as part of the free Smithsonian day event, but tickets at regular price are fairly reasonable and there is a lot to see on the property. Loved the tour portion as well.

This is fun place to bring your family. The tour of Bowers Mansion is fun (there is a cash fee). The guide is quirky and full of knowledge. Not only can you learn about history from the museum, you can absorb it by soaking up the sun, with a bbq on the park, or a swim in the pool (there is a pool fee). -Regina

Great Park. Just for outdoor activities and a playground. Or four the pool in the summer lots of room lots of parking. A little far from Reno and from Carson. But worth the drive. It's right off the freeway so very easy to get to

I love this place. Perfect place for the family. Many BBQ pits in the park and 3 play grounds for the kids to play in. The swimming pool is nice and warm since it's partially fed from a hot spring above.

Very good tour guide but all of the furniture was donated by locals, it is not original to the mansion. Also the mansion is not original as the upper floor was removed. Interesting history and very beautiful location.

One of our favorite places to visit in the Reno/Carson City area. They're always adding to the property. Be prepared to have cash on you if you're doing the tour. The headstones for the Bower's are up a steep hill so be prepared to get a good workout if you choose to do so (that part is optional). The tour guide is great. Very beautiful property.

The County has done a Great Job of keeping this place (and her legacy) alive. Our Guide for the House Tour was Excellent and brought the whole story to life (her childhood in Scotland, coming West, her husbands and babies, her struggles to live and survive in those much more difficult times). She went from washing miner's clothes, to owner of a Boarding House, to becoming a Millionaire and then back to penniless and I suspect that she Lived, Saw and Experienced much more than many of us do today, in our much more comfortable lives. This property is one heck of a reminder of what the "old Days" were really like. If you are able, a walk out the back and up to the three graves on the hill ( up above the house ) is well worth your time !

We visit a few times a year for festivals and large events. It's a beautiful park and families will enjoy the pool. Lots of room for kids to really roam and run.

Day and Knight Ej and Lynn

Free picnic areas made it really easy to set up my kids birthday party and a lot cheaper than most places in town. If you have a party of 25 or more you need to reserve 2 weeks in advance. There are bathrooms near by that are fairly clean for a public park. All the picnic tables are close to the park. You’re not allowed to play loud music, but some people do it anyway. I don’t think people complain as long as there’s no profanity. All the tables have grills close by, but they’re a little crooked so prepare for that or you may burn some food. The pool is also close by and costs $5 for adults and $4 for kids. Great place for summer parties and cook outs!

Great songs and bands!

Great tour guide, Tammy, who gives a great historical story telling experience. The pine tree stump below has 250 rings and the Mansion is in background. So the tree has been there since 1767, before our revolution. The Mansion and ranch from the mid 1800s.

This is a museum with a fascinating story of one of the 1st rags-to-riches stories from the Comstock Lode in Virginia City. The tour guide we had is fabulous. She described the story of the Bowers including the sad ending to their story. Many of the articles, including bedroom curtains from France, are original. The view of Washoe Valley from the family cemetery is awesome. The tour costs about $7 or $8 per adult and is well worth the cost. The mansion is located in a very nice, large park.
