REVIEWS OF The Durham Museum IN Nebraska

Donovan Stone

Loved the exhibits here.

Brenda Ortiz

The environment was so good, great decoration and beautiful building, organized, coffee shop, interesting train history, documented, clean, and also had the dinosaur exhibition. Parking lot.

Gayle Elston

This place was so much better than I anticipated and we could have spent several more hours there if we had the time. The building was breathtaking, the trains were really neat to walk through, and the history area was set up better than almost any museum I've been to. The different areas were really creative (a house, a fair, library, saloon, etc) and there was even a building area for kids and they had some crafts going on as well. We finished our visit with egg cream sodas and some kids sundaes... Yum.

Daniel Bundrick

This is a museum which gives the history of Omaha. You'd be surprised how much about Omaha's past there is to learn. Obviously there's a lot to be seen if you're a fan of trains, but there's just as much about other parts of Omaha history to see here as well.

Vanessa Dimmer

There is an authentic soda fountain in the area that my kids love. We enjoyed our stay here and my kids learned a lot about history and arts. This is an educational trip for them.

Stephanie Jackson

My son loved it! Went for a birthday party and he had fun viewing the train cars. Our tour guide was nice and definitely very knowledgeable, though I think he was a little too factual for our group of kindergarten and 1st graders. Maybe someone who was better with engaging young kids would have been better. 6 and 7 year olds don't understand the Great Depression or the value of a dollar back in those days. The kids all seemed uninterested by all of the information they were getting

Anastasia Barreto

Great museum! Beautiful building inside! We had a lott of fun as a family!

Beverly Meyer

As always, our visit to Durham was time well spent. Met daughter-in-law and two grandsons that were SO excited to go back to the trains. Older one was even more excited about revisiting the trains over the dinosaur exhibit.

Cindy Plunklet

Love our visit with out of state family. If you have never visited please take the time. So wonderful.

Mark Kemmerer

Have always loved this museum! Great exhibits! Omaha history is so interesting.

Rashida Rene

I was treated very rudely by a lady at the front desk of the entrance at this museum. I am playing with a band for a wedding reception that is being held there tonight. I showed up early(around 3:30pm) as I usually do to drop off my equipment. There were four people behind the desk talking and laughing. Not a problem, I just needed to know where to go. So I walked over to a lady that was eating popcorn and asked where to go. She pointed behind her and said, "go that way" in a very snarky manner. I then said, "well do you know if the reception is being held here?" She says very snobbishly, "I don't know, ugh" turned her back and gave me the don't talk to me hand. I've been here before and was greeted with warm smiles and eagerness to help. This was very disappointing as a visitor.

Bart Dysart

Lots of history and great displays. The railroads engines and cars .Also enjoyed the Dinosaur special exhibit.

Jaime Zorrilla

This a nice little museum - it has a good collection of Western/Midwest history and their train and dinosaur exhibits are pretty good!

Tony Staub

An Omaha landmark from the day when rail ruled the country turned museum. This building is amazing, it is unmatched in the city in terms of architecture. They have done a good job of keeping the old time charm where it counts and adding modern additions where it makes sense. The museum takes you on an interesting trip through Omaha history.

Cathy Geren

Loved the new dinosaur exhibit. The interactive portions we're wonderful for the younger kids. The teenagers enjoyed both interactive and learning more through reading.

Patrick Rubio

Sweet Thank You Wow So Wonderful

Kristie Bednarz

Really enjoyed this museum. Went here to get out of the rain and it was really nice. Great exhibits. Friendly staff. Awesome ice cream. Great for the family. Something for everyone.

Marie Tamasy

A wonderful place to visit. Seems like you go around one corner then come to another gallery. Touring the train is fun. One complaint, the school room had the pledge but left out 'ONE NATION UNDER GOD" I was pretty put off by that. What's the problem with this country????

Brian Meyer

The temporary exhibits are always worth seeing and the permanent exhibits are great to. The architecture is just amazing

tonieh moshier

Informative exhibits that were attractive for children and adults!

Rebecca Martinez

Nice place to visit. My favorite was the train car downstairs that had the different sleeping quarters.

Jeremy Junker

Exicting. Interesting. Knowledgeable experience

Michael Parkhurst

A really interesting place nestled in the heart of downtown, where there were plenty of interactive exhibits

Maria Ingham

The dinosaur exhibit is there June 8 to Sept 1 I believe and is definitely worth going to see. There are a ton of interactive exhibits for the kids and interesting facts for adults. They even have a T-Rex skeleton!! If you love dinosaurs definitely worth the trip!

Daniel Johnson

It's a cool place. If you love trains you should like it a lot. I personally didn't find it incredibly fascinating or captivating as far as museums go. I do know people who really like it though. To each their own. There are typically some interesting temporary exhibits worth looking into. I'd give the Durham Museum a maybe.

Jason Dahl

A very neat place to visit . A beautiful Union Station that takes you back to what it was like when trains were popular for travel. I wish buildings like this were still around more. Lots of exhibits to see and the old train cars and engine are pretty cool. Very helpful staff and be sure to check out the soda shop before you leave.

Allen Nelson

Took my grandkids. Dinosaurs! Totally awesome!

Scott Bergman

Great place to visit with family, either from out of town or local.

Jeff Ladegaard

We stopped in to see the traveling Dinosaur display and it was pretty interesting. All the dinosaurs were from the tyrannosaurus family. They had several nice displays, although I think everything was a recreation and nothing was authentic. There were quite a few games you could play to see how the dinosaurs died, or learn about the relationship between them or even see how strong they could bite. The traveling exhibit did not cost anything extra which was nice. The old trains they had in the station were very interesting to walk through and really appreciate modern travel!

Zachary Antilley

This was my first time visiting Omaha and I learned a lot about the history of the region from this museum.

Justin Dahl

Fun museum to visit. Many attractions, when you arrive, the entrace is a converted train depot.

Brandy Spizzle

This was our first time there and we had an amazing time! So much to see and do. Both the adults and kids in our group found it to be a fabulous place to explore, learn and play. Highly recommend!

Debra Reddy

This was my first time visiting the museum and I really enjoyed it. My daughter and I brought our friends and I think they enjoyed it was well. I love history and it was awesome to see this historical building, trains and displays. The gift shop was cool as was the soda fountain. We just wish they offered french fries on the menu.

Cambria Rosales

A gorgeous museum full of unique trinkets of history and a score of activities for kids young and old! currently they are rocking a dinosaur exhibit and Americans democracy as well. Both were brilliant and the kids loved seeing the huge T-REX!! The little soda bar upstairs was a pleasant ending to the long walks and pictures we took while enjoying the museum!

Wendell Simmons

Good museum to walk around in.

Dana Hasenpflug

Needs more interesting exhibits rather than pandering exhibits

John Hargraves

Very nice. Need to get a yearly membership to see the traveling exhibits. Great one currently on the history of rock.

Larry Denger

The Durham is in a classic early turn of the century pre art deco style Americana style of architecture train station. It is beautiful. There is a small gift shop which didn't appeal to me and a old fashioned style soda shop where you can get drinks, sweets and light meals. The museum showcases Omaha history, mostly started at the Caucasian invasion, but some with native American origins as well.

Save world

Beautiful place, takes you back in the history to experience the railroad system. Gives a good view of the history of Nebraska

Brian Ham

Cool trains, historical diaramas, and dinosaur bones with lots of activities for kids. We had a lot of fun with my 10 year old and my 5 and 7 year olds.

Jeff Remmert

The Durham is a must when in downtown Omaha. Beautiful architecture and awesome travelling exhibits are a couple of reasons why I could spend a few hours here every month. Pro tip, avoid it durning the free admission days as its a complete zoo. I appreciate the museum supporting boy and girl scouts with events monthly.

Stephen Piela

Beautiful architecture and lots of history. Formerly Union Station.

Ryndin Max

One of better museum in Omaha. Good for family visits with kids. For small one has special play area with Lego and other creative toys. Museum has a lot real historic objects like real steam train with rail carts, real luxury passengers carts andcbar-carts forcing distance trip. Special exhibition dedicated history of Omaha and mid west.

Vicki Mills

A lot to see and displayed nicely. Loved the dinosaur exhibit!

chadwick bowling

A real once used now preserved train station that is one of the most amazing things I've seen. The top/door level floor is the station and how it looked back then, the bottom/lower floor is jam packed full of history!!! And you get to walk through real trains!!! Must see and recommended for all ages.

Cynthia Anderson

So much history and character in the old train station.

casee ross

Very neat, Large displays! Family orientated and worth the visit.

J.L. Schmidt

This is absolutely the crown Jewel of the Art Deco era. Carefully and tastefully preserved as it was during its heyday in the 1930s. Talking statues abound in the great Hall, a period soda fountain intrigues and serves up phosphates and shakes and malts. A wide variety of displays, including full size locomotives and train cars, fill the lower level. There is something here for all ages and I'm not sure if one day is enough time to see it all. We'll worth the visit. I'M m already planning to go again to see what I missed the first time.

Jordan Campbell

Haunted tour, got to see the basement! Nice people

Molly S

The Durham is one of my favorite places to go mainly for the nostalgia, but mostly for the exhibits. I've gone to their past two events the 007 night and the flappers and fizz night. I loved both the events, they had lots of fun activities and themed treats and drinks!

krycis

Idk i liked my cousin said to put 1 star please dont put me on reddit

Bessie Shea

Amazing museum. Great place to visit and good for children to spend time here.

Adam Benway

Plenty of intriguing items here with a lot of descriptions for everything. The museum offers a great overview of the history of the area and allowed visitors to choose how much information they received. Each exhibit offered a brief overview of a topic and provided more detailed info on smaller placards. We spent about 90 minutes in the museum and had a good experience but very well could have stayed far longer. The hands-on displays are fantastic! walking through is also easy and it is difficult to get lost. Would recommend!

Gina Ray

Have to get the vanilla malt! Fun for the kids and enjoyed the Lego building station!

Dan Adkins

Excellent facility. Lots to see and learn. A must-see for all ages.

Lindsay Crowe

Great family place! My son loves trains so this is a must if you have a train lover or just for a great visit. Staff is amazing! There is a lot to take in with all the beautiful architecture and exhibits. We had ice cream at the little shop inside and my kids fell in love with them! A great destination for fun!

adam hoing

We had never been to The Durham Museum before our recent visit. I'm so glad we finally went! They were having a dinosaur exhibit that was unexpectedly and incredibly overwhelming! The staff does a great job at understanding their audience and caters to young families well. Lots of interactive, learning stations that pair well with the exhibits. If I had to do it again, I would plan ahead for parking but other than that we had a blast!

Charles Romero

I lived and grew up around this place and never been there. Today was my first time. I couldn't had been happier. I love to learn about the earlier days of Omaha and this museum has that plus more

JJ Andregg

Beautiful and interesting history. The volunteers are so helpful and knowledgeable. Today we saw the world's largest TR. It was one of 4 cast of the original. They also have lots of hands on things for kids.

Toni Young

Lots of great exhibits. Old trains for everyone to check out. You get to walk thru to see how the trains were at the early stages. We went for the special exhibit at that time. Had a excellent exhibit on the old money even from other countries.

Jim McWilliams

This is the place to visit if you want to know Omaha. Vintage train and train cars you can walk through, a real train station from the 40's to see and touch. Special exhibits, live performances. We watched then visited with Teddy Roosevelt, and he was so convincing that you could swear you had slipped back in time. Even a train station diner to enjoy lunch in. Great place to take the whole family.

Patricia Broadbent

Best root beer float I ever had!

Bradley Moran

Fun museum. Being able to walk through the train cars takes a person back into history.

James Ramold

They always have a rotating selection of exhibits plus the dinosaurs were cool!

Edwin Alft

Very nice. Dinosaur on display now.

Steven Markham

Love the old station. Walking thru the train was a wonderful experience. Sat and talked with one of the volunteers for a bit. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the building and trains. Dinosaurs exhibit was also pretty good!

Randall Smith

Family friendly history museum with lots of hands on exhibits.

Fay Lee

Top notch museum. I hope I can make it to Omaha again someday and visit a second time. It's in the former Omaha Union Train Station. The interior of the building is magnificent. They keep it in great shape. A vivid reminder of the Golden Age of passenger train travel. The museum is down stairs and is packed full of history about passenger train travel, about general rail history, and about Omaha n Council Bluffs, Iowa (which is just on the other side of the Missouri River and is closely tied with Omaha in history). There's a vintage steam locomotive, caboose, and several passenger cars there also. If you're interested in this sort of history you can easily spend several hours here.

Jered Jelinek

This is such a fun museum. I love learning about the rich history of Omaha and Nebraska along with checking out the trains and all the fun things for kids too. My 4 year old niece had a great time!

Jerry Kissick

Had alot of displays and hands on exhibits. Good place to take kids. Explains history of Omaha.

Marilyn Orr

This is a beautiful repurposed train station. It is so well done with not just train but other Omaha history. A must stop if you traveled by train anytime in the 40s, 50s, or 60s or just find trains interesting.

Becky Red

Great Museum to walk around. The T-Rex exhibit was awesome!! :-)

gladatlast

Wonderful place to visit while in Omaha. The resident volunteers are just the best and make the experience so fantastic.

Ali Ibrahim

Great Museum to learn about the history and culture of Omaha! $11 to get in for adults. Less for seniors and juniors! You’d need at least 3 hours to browse through the whole place but could easily take a whole morning if you want to soak it all in! Lots of hands on activities for children! There is free parking outside. Don’t forget to grab a souvenir from the gift shop! Also don’t for get to see the 8 minutes movie about the beginnings of Omaha in the movie theatre downstairs first! The staff is very welcoming and friendly

Erin Fritzmeier

Purple heart Veterans parade route. Employees stayed until early morning hours with no fuss due to the flight delay

Betty Brayman

Ver pretty. Great place for a reception but very expensive.

Samantha Plock

A great place to spend time with family!

Jonathon K

Great place to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon. Historical trains, storefronts, and a rich history of America (and Omaha) in a sprawling, majestic museum. We finished our visit with a chocolate shake from the cafe....delish!

Gregory Collins

They have excellent exibits, some that never change and others that change out every so often. A great place to visit for an afternoon and learn local history as well as enjoy a old school malt shop with cold ice cream floats.

Sue Corman

Loved this museum. Open, clean, modern. We'll preserved train station with so much more history of the area.

christine cahill

I took my grandson's to see the dinosaurs yesterday. They loved it. The youngest wanted to go back through it.

Deb Ayers

Beautiful! Statues with recordings of conversations gave such a glimpse of time period! Would love to visit again!

Stephanie H

Impressive... Usually get a membership there for many years , they get great exhibits, but they have gotten pretty snotty with family members over using it so may not again.

R Byers

Lots of neat things to see and do! What a gorgeous old building!

Alena Kinsey

Historical building well restored and repurposed as a museum. Educational and entertaining. Hosts 21+ events that are worth investing in for a fun night out.

Xavier Ringo

This is a super fun museum for the whole family to enjoy. There are many permanent exhibits, including trains to walk through and historical things which give information about Nebraska in the past. There are also rotating exhibits, which include many interesting historical things to look at, such as WW1 memorabilia and the like.

Henry Carnaby

Attended a wedding reception at the museum and it was an amazing facility. Not thrilled with the catered buffet and certainly not with the bar service but I was not paying the bill. Felt like I should have given a check to the bride's parents rather than the newlyweds.

Toriel Dreemurr

Unfortunately, I did not take any photos. I visit this place often, and love it. I love the timely looks of this museum. Depending on your tastes, this museum grabs your attention in a cool way. The art isn't how you'd expect it. The art is rather interactive and interesting. If you don't understand, this museum has a old timely stores with plastic food. It is set up in a way that makes it obvious it's from older times. There are either one or two trains that you can explore on. I will be visiting here the next time I feel like using hands-on art.

Vicki Minor

Fun for the whole family...Trex exhibit was superb.

Shirley Le

This is a very unique and fun place lots to see and lots to do. Now I do think that it is a bit pricey for families. We go there one to two times a year. It is very clean and well kept. The train is so much fun to walk through. There is a lot for the kids to interact with. I think adults will be just as entertained. I myself walking around looking and reading at what’s on display learn something new every time I go there. We have had shakes and root beer floats at the food station there. The price is right very delicious products with good portions. The bathrooms every time we have gone are very clean. All in all a good family friendly place.

Jay Ireland

Great journey to the history of beginnings of Omaha and travel

Tom Negley

Always fun and entertaining, even more so with Railroad Days.

Jennifer Honea

Loved seeing the T-Rex!

Dominic Bilotta

$11.00 for adult tickets, very good price for the quality and quantity of the exhibits. The are partnered with the Smithsonian and had a very cool history of voting exhibit. A couple interactive displays. They had a bunch of cool train stuff also. Worth the cost of admission+ in my opinion.

Rome Cottrell

Our family enjoyed going to the Durham Museum two months ago , the museum had many exhibitions of Omaha , Nebraska that we haven't seen before plus there's some history about Omaha, Nebraska that I wasn't taught in the OPS system that I found out about while I was at this museum ! This is a

One of my favorite historical places in Omaha. Love it! Was the florist for this wedding.

The beauty of the museum was breath taking.Their was a elderly gentleman on the train tour. He was so full of knowledge on any questions relayed to UPPR or trains in general. . Prices were reasonable. I love everything about the museum was inside nice and cool elevator was acessible my husband did not have no stairs to climb very nice.

Lila Johnson

A Diamond to Behold I love trains and great train stations that can tell a story! My earliest memory of a train ride took place in elementary school at the Union Station in Kansas City, MO. Today, those memories returned as I made new ones at the Durham Museum, Omaha’s Union Station. Taking some time out from working on my current manuscript, I was not expecting to be there for four hours. It was not wasted time as I time traveled through this magnificent building. A volunteer greets you when you pay the 11.00 adult admission fee. You’ll receive a museum guide that will give a brief outline of what to expect throughout the building. The main waiting area is breathtaking. No wonder it was named a National Historic Landmark in 2016 by the U.S. Department of the Interior. It’s art deco architecture places you in a time of the 1920’s and 30’s with high ceilings, cathedral windows, metallic materials like aluminum and stainless steel. I was taken with the Terrazzo flooring and brass lighting fixtures that hang 45 feet in the air. They’re thirteen feet tall and weigh two tons or more than 2,000 pounds. It was fun to visit the sculptures that spoke of each passengers’ journey. For example, Old Salesman and the Sign, Ticket Counter, Anticipation and the touching, Young and Old Traveler that touched my heart. After endless photos, reading and listening to stories told, I took a brake at the soda fountain for a quick bite. Afterwards, I made my way downstairs to visit the various galleries and walk through the steam engine, Pullman car, lounge car and caboose. (All were decorated for Halloween) You may not spend four hours inside the museum as I did while taking part of so many things it had to offer, but you must not miss the beauty and history that this station has to offer. At it’s peak it’s reported that 10,000 people every day passed through Omaha Union Station with seven railroad lines that stopped here. Overall: Bob, one of the volunteers, was a delight and so informative regarding the history of not only the museum but the rail system and train history.

Husker Ninja

My twins loved the dinosaurs, they couldn't get enough if them.

The place to go to experience the history of Nebraska-Omaha. Definitely go back...looking forward to the dinosaur exhibit.

Amanda Busch

Lots to do and see! My 4 year old loves it because there are plenty of things to touch and interact with

William Mihalo

Our 2.5 year old granddaughter loves this place. She likes the waiting room and the mac and cheese from the snack bar. Downstairs she likes setting up toy train tracks and visiting the old store fronts. Of course this place has some very interesting adult exhibits. This is a great place to visit when the weather outside is terrible.

Keith Henley

I love trains! The history of trains! The decor and architecture amazing! The Byron coin collection no comment. This is truly a must see if you're in Omaha.

Em Mulhall

This museum may not interest everyone, but as a history buff it is one of my favorite places to recommend to vacationers and out of town friends. Especially if they want to know more about Omaha's complex and often criminal past.

Jerome Pizinger

What a great museum, worth the price of admission.

Athom Sfere

It's a great museum. Lots of local history and fun exhibits. I really love the old street car, and personally I can't wait for Omaha to bring back some form of mass transit rail. The exhibits change at what seems a decent rate too. Much of the museum is new to me, after visiting it for the first time 6 months ago.

Keith Garrett

Great museum such a large selection of things to see. Loved the history of Omaha.

Elizabeth Sawhney

My son had a fun time at the Halloween party. All the volunteers were super helpful.

Stephi Dalen

My toddler absolutely loved it, so I went ahead and bought a membership. Be loved getting on the real trains, watching the models, and playing at the tables. I didn't have the opportunity to check out some of the exhibits but they were geared more towards adults and kids would likely get bored of all the reading and I was there for my 3 year old. The soda fountain has delicious drinks and ice cream.

justin willard

Excellent use of the train station, many interactive exhibits for children and one of the few old fashioned soda fountains I've seen still functioning and open great place to visit with the family

C Maeschen

It was a nice place to visit and learn a thing or too!

Lacey Randall

Fun place to learn some local history. Our favorite parts were checking out the train cars and the entry with the statues that tell you a story.

April Freeman

Recently visited THE DURHAM MUSEUM and realized how magnificent this historical, art deco building is. THE MUSEUM incorporated a lot of traveling exhibits that has wide appeal to everyone. The lower level has a permanent exhibit of turn-of-the-century Omaha as well as restored UNION PACIFIC engine and luxury passenger car from a bye gone era. There is always a temporary exhibit that is fresh and appealing to younger children...it is a place for all ages.

Jose Matamoros

I loved the place. Very informative about the history of Omaha and Nebraska as a whole. Over all focused on how the city developed around the train and transportation industry. Everything is well explained and highly detailed.

Valerie Lytle

I'm fairness I didn't get to see all the museum. I went as a plus 1 to a business party held there. I did have a good time, however the areas I saw were not that well cleaned and maintained.

Kennie Reeves

Very cool place to check out when you visit Omaha. Loved seeing all the historic train cars and what places used to look like and how everyone lived back then. My daughter, who is 12, loved every minute of being there as well.

Katie Goossen

This place has always been a small day activity since I was a kid, it never fails to amaze me with the new and the old

Joshua Markette

On top of being very informative and historic, good lord what a gorgeous building. The exhibits where varied and well maintained and the addition of a classic soda fountain made for a nice way to close off the afternoon. Highly recommended.

Matthew Johnson

Great place to take the family for an afternoon. So much information on Omaha's history.

T. O.

The Durham Museum is great. They have so many cool exhibits on not just trains but everything, currently including dinosaurs! I really like the staging of their main entryway just inside the main doors. Some of the models of people look so real, it took me a second to realize that they were staged mannequins. They even have a cute little malt-style shop in there where you can get a drink, maybe even food. I didn't take too close a look at it, honestly. They have a lot of train cars that you can walk through and explore. Plus, on these hot days the cool air in the Durham Museum feels so good and refreshing! A great way to spend a couple hours during a hot afternoon in downtown/Old Market Omaha! I highly recommend it.

Best $11 Bucks you will ever spend. Rounded off with ice cream . To all concerned excellent 10/10 & Thanks

Adriene Archibald

History and beauty strike a perfect balance in this art deco inspired former train station. This museum is informative, interactive and Instagram worthy. The train cars downstairs bring out the kid in all of us, and it's definitely fun for the whole family!

Chris Dunlap

Awesome. My husband used to come here as a teenager when traveling by train to visit family in Nebraska. Lots of memories.

Jennifer Whitenack

Beautiful museum inside the old Union Pacific train depot. We really enjoyed being able to walk through the train cars. The dinosaur exhibit on loan was exciting, and we loved stopping by the old fashioned soda fountain for ice cream before leaving. I hear it is really beautiful at Christmas time. We will have to try and get over there around the holiday.

Casey Reppert

Awesome museum! They have so much to look at and I really like how it is broke down in sections/timelines. The dinosaur exhibit was really neat, I'm glad we were able to visit while it was in Omaha!

Bret Hunter

Perfect spot for our wedding, a memorable day made even more special this location

ME MC

We have always loved this museum and the cultural festival. Love that they're adding more interactive toys for kids. Wish they'd get a better Santa at Christmas.

Daniel Dutton

I love this place. Its brimming with history and so much information about the area. The architecture of the building is amazing. It literally feels like you've stepped into 1945. Christmas time is especially beautiful with the giant tree and all of the family oriented events. This is a great place.

Maria Pohl

A lot of beautiful things history, etc.

Cody Moninger

This is a really neat museum. You can walk through old train cars as well as see the history of Omaha. Plus there is a play area for the kids.

Josue Ortiz Balay

You will love it ,if you are into this type of museum.

Christina Whalen

Great customer service representatives and displays. Recommend the soda shop on the first floor for a simple snack and treat while venturing.

Ann Turner

I will be back when I don't have a child in tow. I missed most of what the Durham has to offer but from what I was able to get a peek at, I am sure I will love it. I did buy a membership and plan on using it frequently. Beautiful ceilings in the main area! Having a cherry phosphate was a real treat at the soda fountain.

Edward Konold

I shared a lovely afternoon with my family here! Great fun! Interesting exhibits!

Edna Flores Lagunas

The Durham Museum is a very fun & educational place to go to with children. They also have an area called soda fountain where food & snacks are available.

Casey Gardner

Great place and lot's of cool stuff to look at. Very educational experience .

Brett Scollard

It is a beautiful building, and the exhibits were nicely done. However, the displays were rather sparse. Lot's of good information to read, but not much on display besides the traveling exhibit and the trains. Other exhibit were reconstructions and not actual historical artifacts. There were actual old refrigerators and other household items on display. They were a fun reflection on an earlier time, but at the end of the day, not the kind of thing for museums. It would be a top notch museum for a small town, but should be better for a city like Omaha. I really want to see it grow and become better.

This place is awesome. The building is beautiful. The exhibits are great. The staff is very friendly. We went through an adventure exhibit in which both my wife and I died, but it was a lot of fun! Highly recommend this place!

Lots of train related plus you can sit down for a rootbeer float at this museum.
