You will be able to see the feddbacks of people like you who consumed the products of Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum (Museum) in the area close to the state of Nebraska.
Now this firm has a rating of 4.6 over 5 and this rating was based on 364 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is basically the best one, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite credible. If many people have bothered to leave their opinion when they are happy, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum is classified in the category of Museum.
I had a good time. Was surprised that you can go inside of any of the airplanes.
Truly an interesting experience, was fun for the whole family. Has something for everyone.
Overall a great to visit. Great for kids. My only concern are some of the side exhibits not working properly and to update the planes signage.
Wonderful adventure of aviation history
What an awesome display of American military history. Worth the trip!
If you like airplanes this is a must. Even if you don't like airplanes just seeing the sheer size of some of these things was impressive to me. Very cool to be up close and personal with the stuff that you see in movies all the time.
Loved it. My second time coming this time brought my son and grandson.
Great place for adults and kids! We spent a few hours looking around and everyone enjoyed it!
Amazing please to stop by and spend few hours. Large expo hall and comfortable wew. Friendly staff. Good for children.
Absolutely must spend an afternoon here if you live in Omaha.
If you have even a mild interest in aircraft, you'll really enjoy a visit.
This is a great museum for military airplane buffs. Many types of equipment on display, along with a gift shop. Children's area also on site. Conveniently located off a major highway, with lots of free parking available. Entrance fees are modest.
Very informational really cool stuff
Awesome bomber plane. Love the history of it all. Even tho it was a bit pricy just was amazing to see those planes and see a era before my time in the service.
The place is pretty cool. I wish they had more modern retired fighter planes, but the stuff they have is pretty cool to check out.
Very interesting will have to go back when we are down here
This museum is well worth a visit. It was better than we expected. In addition to a top-notch B-17, there were a lot of unique and personally-interesting exhibits. Planes I've seen nowhere else included a huge B-36 and a tiny XF-85 fighter/escort designed to be released from a "parent" bomber (an unsuccessful experiment, ultimately). As a kid, my dad saw a wing tank fall off of a jet fighter in Corpus Christi, TX. When I saw the F-84 Thunderjet at the museum, I realized for the first time that it must have been the fighter my dad had spoken of so many years ago. That was cool. Our favorite part of the visit was a tour given by a volunteer who had piloted B-36s and B-52s. It's not every day, or every visit to a museum, that you get to hear first-hand stories that bring the planes to life. The way he remembered the men he had lost was very touching. I highly recommend taking the tour if you can.
Many historic planes on display, along with stories of the people who flew and maintained them. The SAC Lunch Cafe menu is limited but not over-priced. Not as crowded as I expected it would be, even at the end of July. A excellent bookend to a visit to the USAF museum in Dayton.
My father served in SAC from its formation until 1963. This museum is an inspiring memorial and tribute to all of those for whom "Peace Was Their Profession".
Best museum in the Omaha area. Excellent examples and restorations. Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours here, or more.
Excellent museum to visit. Lots of great exhibits. We spent about 3 hours here as we read most of the info associated with each setting.
This place was amazing. You could literally feel the history under your feet and hands. Fantastic displays and children's area.
If you ever served on the Air Force you need to visit this museum. We visited during February and we had it all to ourselves. I could not believe the amount of aircraft inside the hanger. There was a B52 and a B36 stored inside. My very favorite aircraft, Sr 71, was also on display. It was perfectly positioned for photo opportunities. If you enjoy aircraft and aircraft history you will enjoy this museum. SAC played a huge role in winning the cold war.
Yes I agree this place is all about the Cold war, a time the world was in constant fear of nuclear annihilation. Yes there is no reason to glorify these billion dollar machines of mass destruction. Inspite of all these, if for a moment we can forget the Political stupidity of the era, what stands before us is marvelous example of the scientific and engineering advancement made by the mankind where technology has been pushed to it's limits. One can't deny the goosebumps felt when standing beneath the wings of a B-52 Stratofortress, awestruck by this behemoth of the skies. Though technology like these had originally been developed for sinister reasons, it finally trickled down to the civilian world and makes modern day air travel possible, and thus I think it's worth a visit. P.S.- The museum also has a gallery about local astronaut Clayton Anderson, so it's not about all things military.
Enjoyed the exhibits. Children's activity area was a treat for our grandson. Snack bar was a real surprise - healthy options, tasty and VERY reasonable. Great value for money.
Was a fun trip. Learned a bunch about the exhibits. They had a car show going on while we were there. That was a fun bonus.
Had a great time, the children's displays were very entertaining (even for adults). The Planes on display are incredible. Mark was really informative and entertaining!
Kids had fun learning about the airplanes and space. The kids liked the kids zone area.
This is a good Museum with good planes. Felt Flight Simulator was little overpriced for a very short ride. Overall good place to visit and explore on planes and aerospace.
Front desk lady was not helpful or friendly. Downright rude. Some aircraft had no signage. Much better than the old outdoor display at Bellevue.
Really enjoyed the visit here. The SR-71 Blackbird on display is visible when you walk in the door and is very impressive. I think my favorite display was the MIG-21 which is kind of hidden in a corner. I also thought the Hobgoblin experimental fighter was an excellent display. This museum has one of only two that were ever produced. The activity centers for the kids are very good. All of the activities are science based and created opportunites to explain science concepts to the kids.
Impressive Museum and we are lucky to have it here in Nebraska. Can't wait to take my children there when they are older and can really enjoy it.
Awesome museum for someone who is a huge plane buff. There is tons to see, lots of fun experiences for the kids - simulators included. Definitely worth the drive from Iowa.
Amazing museum. Great guided tour!!
Fascinating. Military discounts to get in. Gift shop prices very high. Bathrooms are filthy. Still worth going to see.
Fantastic museum definitely worth the drive. The docent tour was filled with lots of information. Would visit again.
what a very cool place! I thoroughly enjoyed myself
Don't waste your time. It is 12 dollars a person and more than half of their science attractions are broken or missing parts. They also knew that their card machine wasn't working from day 1 but when we paid for our family they never said anything about "oh hey you will need these cards to view some of the machines (if they are working)" they just let us carry on. Instead we walked around the building for a bit until we realized we needed these cards and then went to the card machine to make some, just to realize it was broken like half the exhibits. I wish they kept this place up better because it had some neat exhibits but for how expensive it is i wouldn't waste your money. The AC was not cool enough. Was very hot.
It is epic!! So many things to do!! Aviation for life!! It’s so cool!! So many airplane!! But one question why no P-40 :c?? This place needs a P-40 to complete it!! But still it’s a epic place!! ✈️
A great museum but the Boy Scout merit badge program could use some improvement.
It's been a few years since we've been here but each time is like the first in the jaw dropping aircraft of yesteryear. This time we had our 2 1/2 year old grandson and it was so exciting to see his enthusiasm too. We visited on memorial weekend. I would encourage all ages to visit as this is living history among some of the largest flying machines gathered in one place. Plan plenty of time for photos. It is sooooo with it!!
A must see museum. Very impressive.
What a great place for a family to visit! Lots more to see than I ever expected. Whole family really enjoyed the visit.
There was actually a lot more for kids than I thought there would be, with a interactive space dedicated to the science of flight and rocketry. Good mix of stuff for kids and history buffs.
Such an amazing place with so much history!! Always love visiting!
Kids loved it. Lots of interesting information for all ages.
SAC museum is a MUST visit when near Omaha. Unbelievable collection of planes. Very nice tribute to women pilots.
Visited in Sept 2017, enjoyed seeing all the Aircraft and just smelling Vintage Aviation. Shame the Flight Simulator was such a disappointment for what they charged. We literally had 5-6 mins each to take off before the operator opened the door to say it had finished. Was using Microsoft Flight Simulator X on low graphics. Would have been 5 out of 5 but the Flight Sim ruined the end of the day for us.
As a former Airforce service personnel, it was good to see history being preserved.
That's amazing place in Nebraska!
loved it so much I really enjoyed the history and the facts of the plane It was cool when I was there last summer the had a parachutist from the sky it was coolllllll!!!!!
I liked this place I would love to go again
As a pilot and a massive aviation/history buff I found this museum awsome! The historical significance of what sac meant as well as the amazing collection of aircraft are simply breathtaking! The only reason I gave 3 stars is they really need to figure out a way to clean the place better; maybe hire a new janitor... didn't bother me so much but really bothered my family! I'm sure its difficult to keep up with it but wow! How expensive is a ladder and dustmop!
You must visit.
Great for all ages.
This place is awesome! Of course the SR-71 is the big draw and was awesome! They have a B-52 , and many many more pieces of aviation history. The personal items that belonged to Gary Powers was neat. Next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely stop back! Anyone that has any interest in aviation or space wont be disappointed.
If you like planes or military displays, then you should definitely visit this museum. You won't be disappointed. There are also other related exhibits that complement the experience...holocaust, Tuskegee airmen, science and learning center for kids.
It has been 3 long years since I was well enough to make my annual visit to SAC MUSEUM... It was great to visit again
Extensive collection of modern and WWII aircraft. SR-71 Blackbird in the atrium is a big hit.
We had a great time. So many things to see and do.....if you get bored it's your own fault.
What a great place for our military history and exibates!! Really enjoyed the museum!!
Wow. Great display of historic aircraft. Make sure you go out back and see the Vulcan. Its a British Cold War Nuclear bomber that still looks modern today, oh it was built in 1950's. The inside has great mixture of Strategic Air Command planes. Nice play / learning area for the kids. Bucket list location.
One of my families favorite places to go!
One of the best aerospace museums I have ever been to! It's nice because it's all covered and there is quite a selection to view. Also one of the best places to see an SR-71 Blackbird in the country. Defiantly go on the guided tour because the vets that run them have so much knowledge and can give you some inside stories you won't hear anywhere else!
A must see for anyone interested in aviation! The 11:00 am tour is excellent! Definitely worth seeing.
Amazing Museum and who is interested on Airplanes and technical things of Airplanes must see. Worth to see..:) Easy to find, lots of Parking spaces and friendly Stuff.
I did not find much information about SAC.
The B17 was a real treat, particularly the personal testimony / video of a B17 pilot. Riveting...
As someone who just enjoys wandering and looking at things, this is the place to be. The hangars are immense and filled with planes. The descriptions we're very detailed and they even had some very fastinatitng walk-through exhibits. This is the place to go!
A lot of planes inside the building. Lots of informative displays. kids learning area is awesome. Food is good.
Many of the black hole education kiosks were out of order. Everything else worked wonderfully and were really fun for my elementary aged kids.
The strategic air and space museum is an awesome place for young kids, and people interested in aeronautics. It is a great place for family's to go together. Enjoy your next trip there.
Marvelous museum! I stopped in August 6th. My father and one brother were in SAC during the good ole 'Cold War' days. I had been here about four years ago and needed to make another visit. My walk around inside was great. Yes, some aircraft are in externally bad shape. But it is a long process to restore them, rope them off and balance the work and the public. Very understandable. You guys are doing a magnificent job. My last stop the B-29 was in the paint hangar. I wanted to see the Avro Vulcan, only three in the USA. Got permission to go around back and see here. Then got to spent an extra hour with the Facility Manager Joe Vrana. Thankyou Joe! Your personal tour was interesting, and informative and as a kid from the SAC days and aviation fanatic, very exciting. A great place for anyone with an interest in the history aircraft of the Cold War days the Stratigic Air Command, and the organisation that General Curtis Lemay envisioned.
Probably ok for local kids but not Smithsonian-esque at all. Lots and lots of unreadable, poorly lit displays and air conditioning barely working. No historical context or logical arrangement. Crappy job for a museum. But the space itself is cool. See typical display below. Bottom of lowest frame is about 5 feet off the floor... Can't read articles!
Just love the hardware and the history. I could spend a ton of time in this place. I always manage to go with somebody who is not as interested as I am in reading all the information on the various air craft. Very neat how they let you see the restoration process of current projects. There is a small cafe if you need a break.
Boring! Everything was closed off, half of the interaction exibits didnt even work, bird poop everywhere. Every kid there including mine had more fun in the play area playing with toys that didnt have anything to do with planes. Every kid …
So much coolness. Higly recommend the tour at 11 AM.
A great collection of aviation history. Getting to see the SR-71 in person is worth the cost of admission on its own.
Great collection of important historical aircraft.
1st grade class field trip was well received by all, excellent museum. Would recommend even for older students.
Wow! You don't really appreciate how big these planes are until you get up close. They also have some stuff from NASA, a lively 911 memorial, a holocaust memorial, a great hands on learning area for kids, a snack bar and a theater that runs 3 movies back to back all day. The gift shop is pretty well thought out as well. Great way to spend an afternoon.
Took a road trip to see the SAC Museum as I had not been since I was a kid. It is a great museum and the aircraft are well maintained. It feels a little crowded, but everything is under roof.
Great collection of cold war and ww2 aircraft with a lot of interesting stories. Sorry the Curtis Lemay exhibit has been replaced though
Wonderful place to visit and experience the history of aviation!
Drove for a hour to get to the sac museum, showing open today on your website, only to find it closed. On a short visit from the UK, so I don't know when I will get the chance again to find out if the museum would have been as a great visit as it looks . Pity about your misleading ifo on your website.
Great hands-on exhibits for kids. Huge Cold War era planes were pretty neat too. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Was surprised to find out that you can fly practically any of the planes if you say the secret password to the man running the front desk.
An underappreciated attraction. If you are visiting the Omaha area and want to see something unique and different with a touch of education and history, no place better.
I have been to museum 3 times and it gets better every time. Just there July 14th, 2013 and the B-29 looks great. I am glad to see that the B-47 and the B-36 have been getting slowly worked on. It was my brother's first time there and had never seen the size of the B-36 in person. He was very surprised. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next time I can return. (Avro Vulcan, B-1A, unfortunately not able to be seen.)
Spent the day at the museum and had the perfect sought after experience.
Great place to visit!
A wonderful museum holding a colossal amount of history. Plenty of exibits for all ages to enjoy. The B17 itself is well worth the price of admission!
The museum is a lot of for little kids and even older people. My one complaint is the simulator. It's a lot of fun but everyone who goes on it should me given a quick demastraion on how to fly it. But other then that it's a lot of fun for everyone.
Enjoyed this museum a lot even though this isn’t usually something I’m really interested in. Enjoyed the display about female pilots, the Tuskegee airman and the blackbird (the free documentary really made this plane come alive and much easier to appreciate). We spent about 2.5 hours here. Bring sturdy shoes.
Fantastic museum, there is so much to see! However, I’m only giving 4 stars due to their phone system! We thought we had left a very precious stuffed dinosaur and tried to get a hold of an actual person multiple times and left a message even and was not able to get a hold of anyone and never got a call back. We had to drive back through on our way home and the person at the desk said they almost threw poor Dino away! Thankfully we took time out of our trip to get him back since their phone system is difficult to navigate or get a hold of anyone!
Had a really nice afternoon at the SAC museum today! The info for each plane is pretty accessible for someone who knows just about nothing about flight, and the smaller exhibits are a nice, newer touch. I particularly liked the Women in Aerospace exhibit and the holocaust walk-through. It's nice to see a little human history beside the planes. I also had a really good experience with the flight simulators. The operator had a long line of people at the end of the day and we were his last after a few folks who delayed our turn complaining to him about their experience. He was so nice and really went the extra mile to turned the experience around for us, and the simulator was so fun!
This is the best aerospace museum in the country. Very extensive collection that is well laid out and maintained very well. They keep adding to it often so it keeps it fresh and exciting.
Such a wonderful museum if you enjoy bad costumer service , misinformation, and looking at technology that runs on dinosaurs poop. Very advanced indeed!
If you love aviation, the cold war or SAC then you wlll love this place! Very inexpensive! You can get a lyft out here but not one back to downtown! Will definaty be back
Very good piece of US military aviation history. They have occasional travelling exhibits that go through that are great!
A great selection of both old and modern aircraft and exhibits. Contains some more rare exhibits such as the B-36 and the Avro Vulcan. For an aviation lover, this is a must visit place.
This is such a cool place, tons to do for the young and the old. Loved our time here.
Very good displays of aircraft. Seen several that I have never seen before.
This is a great place to visit. They have a huge variety of planes and they are displayed very well. I do wish there was the ability to go inside of the planes though or at least a few of them which is why I only gave it 4 stars.
Great place to see lots of the old cold war planes. SR-71 was the highlight for us but they have everything you could want. Would not recommend for kids under 5 though not a lot of hands on stuff.
Amazing place to learn about history. We did this as an overnight scouting event, where our scouts earned the robotics merit badge. It was an amazing experience, and seeing how these aircraft served and what they were used for is amazing.
Captains Log, Stardate 9/9/2017. This place has a lot of cool things to see. They got the Millennium Falcon, the General Lee and the original USS Enterprise from Star Trek. Chewbacca is on hand to answer all questions. This attraction is Mr. Spock approved.
As a member of SAC during my military years I found this is a very interesting locale. There are a large number of aircraft that were associated with SAC in the US Air Force military operations. There were also various videos and interactive displays detailing the history of SAC and major events in the history of the military unit. Anyone who served in the Air Force more than military at that time will find this more than interesting. It is well worth the price of admission.
The Robotics program was great for Boy Scouts. We brought Boy Scouts from Gardner, Kansas to this and had a great time. Fun and interactive program. Setting the historic aircraft was amazing. Thank you for offering this program to educate out Boy Scouts.
Very interesting and the planes are massive! Very fun for the whole family. Things for everyone to do, from 2 yrs and up! Grandkids loved the learning and exploring center.
Lots of neat aircraft and information on them. Kids areas were pretty cool, especially the black hole interactive exhibits. Would definitely stop again.
I love this place a lot and I loved it house they used real planes but one thing I didn't like was the prices and the simulator was to short but everything else was AWESOME!! (I'm sorry for the misspelling of Blackbird)
Like Share
Being an airplane buff I found this place to be amazing. A great assortment of our strategic aircraft, including an SR 71 Blackbird suspended in the atrium as you enter. It also has a wonderful collection of old warbirds, and not just the SAC stuff. A lot of vintage stuff, all in one area, that you can't see anywhere else. Even some non US aircraft, like the MiG 21. My wife, who's not into aircraft, was impressed by the massive display.
12 dollars for the public and 11 for veterans and active duty. why bother giving a discount at all? veterans deserve more respect.
If you like military aircraft you will enjoy this place. Mostly B series planes. B17, B29. B25 etc
Here is the thing. It is a great place to go, my only complaint is I went there for a car show and the cars were leaving at 2:00 so we missed some of them. If you don't wanna leave your car in the car show for the whole time then just don't show it at all. Not air museums fault but just frustrating.
Excellent museum, well worth the time and money to go. Lots of airplanes, lots of interesting info, fun stuff for kids to do. We will definitely go again.
Up-and-coming museum that is very exciting for fans of Cold War-era war birds. Contains a surprising number of old and rare bombers, and probably the only museum of its kind where you can TOUCH just about every one of them. No viewing from a distance here: you can get right up and underneath the wings of a B-47 or a B-52 or Avro Vulcan. Production values aren't exactly on par with the likes of the Smithsonian, but the lack of polish is made up for by the content and experience. Worth a 1.5-2.5 hour visit.
Very nice indoor activity!
Very impressive collection of aircraft...nicely done. Appreciated the exhibition on the Nazi German work camps and personal video interviews/experiences from survivors living in Nebraska --- incredibly moving and respectfully done I thought. If you go with kids and on a budget; it was very hard to pay more money after purchasing entry fees for the simulators (in which they only had two of the 5 aircraft to choose to fly and we later found out you don't actually control yourself --- just ride along) AND a bit more money for the other space interpretive observatory/movie. Other than those to grips, it's a gem!
We had a fantastic time at the "Santa Goes to Space" event. It was a Disney level event with excellent character interaction and costume.
This is a great place for children and adults. U can go up and touch the planes, some u can go inside or under them. It was quite amazing. There is an educational area for kids. I have been to the Air and Space museum in DC, which is amazing but what I like about this place, is that u can touch the planes and really get up close. If u are visiting Omaha, take some time to visit this place.
This museum is a great place for learners of all ages.
Great collection, restoration and presentation of military aircraft. Boggles the mind how massive some of the planes are and how the heck they can get off the ground. Great place to spend a couple hours!
If you love history and airplanes, this is the place for you!
Fantastic displays and hands on for kids
Always a great experience. Great historical opportunity for all ages. This place is a treasure.
One of few aircraft museums left that allow you to get up close and personal without barriers around some amazing aircraft. Definitely worth a stop.
I'll write another review, should I actually be allowed to enter anything other than the lobby. Listed hours are 10:00 - 17:00 "DAILY".....The "daily" part apparently did not include March 12, as, during the specified interval, they were closed without explanation. The SR-71 in the lobby and the Atlas rocket on the lawn are really nice....
If you are in, or near Omaha or Lincoln. This should be on you list if you like military aircraft. This is a SAC museum. The aircraft are mainly bombers. Some likely no where else. There is a purity to this place. No overwhelming exhibits. Just the most amazing and important planes used by SAC and the Air Force. (and some missiles out front.) There was some kind of guide led event for some school kids.
Great collection of aircraft and plenty of Rich history and the tales of American sacrifice for all of our freedom. Great place to visit with much historical and educational value. Definitely a lasting impression on me.
Went with some friends but probably would have been better with kids. Lots of kid friendly activities. We enjoyed the simulator but it's pretty expense for just a short ride.
I had never heard of this place but while on a road trip we found it. I spent hours there and did not want to leave. Lots of neat displays and some cool simulators. Snack bar was decent.
I went here for their solar eclipse event, and it was organized very well! Free solar glasses, a eclipse playlist, announcers to let you know when the eclipse was getting close. Afterwards we toured the museum itself, and everyone seemed genuinely polite and respectful. The exhibits were very interesting, and there was a large amount of practical examples of harder to comprehend topics plus hands on experiences for kids and adults. I'd definitely recommend this place!
It's a nice place, but when they do NOT keep the air conditioning up during the summer, its not worth the stop.
Very cool "rest stop" on a long road trip. I stopped in after seeing an old jet alongside I-80. Impressive collection of aircraft and a few rare ones thrown in. Worth the entry fee and more.
Really cool museum! They have a lot of aircraft to show at this museum.
Great exhibit lots of planes,. Plus you can get a guided tour so you get alot of the history.
Wow! Any pilot will love this place.....wait so will everyone! Very friendly and helpful , Kites welcome!
Although I personally abhor war and other acts of aggression and the idea that we need these kinds of armaments and other devices to hopefully forestall world conflagration, I am very impressed by this museum and it's testimony to the ingenuity and bravery of our service people. I would add that an improvement to the museum would invoke the roles women have played, including roles of leadership and pilotry.
Loved all of the history here, enjoyed the displays and the hands on kids stuff. Would've liked to be able to actually examine the interior of more of the aircraft. The description boards of each aircraft was very informative.
Thanks for keeping Russian tanks out of Europe.
It was very interesting to see the planes and with the car show there too was really very good to take in -especially as inside with AC!
A great museum for fans of aircraft and military history. Even my teenaged girls enjoyed the place. The centerpiece has to be the B-52. Many many static displays of 20th century air force aircraft. Several NASA items too. They have a real flight simulator too. The simulator is very expensive for only 5 minutes. Don't pay the extra for the 3D it doesn't add to the experience. The kids running the simulator weren't very helpful and a little arrogant, but still the only simulator I've ever been in. A nice museum, even though its in the middle of nowhere.
This is a very cool place for either kiddos who are really into planes or a one time visit. My kids are now 9 and 10. They really only enjoyed the one exhibit where they could get inside the plane and act as pilots. There are other great exhibits and even incorporated the history of gaming into an area. However, it’s not a cool thing for the kiddos that are growing older unless planes is their thing. Very nice place. Easy to navigate with strollers and equipment. Great place for little ones. No “family” bathroom for older kiddos with needs to be with a parent while using the restroom.
Excellent experience, especially if you're an air force vet
The museum itself was awesome. Our toddler LOVED all the planes and then kids discovery play area but I was severely disappointed in the condition of the restrooms. They were dirty and there were 2 stalls that had toilet clogs and had overflowed nasty water into the stalls next to them. I told the worker at the desk about it the first time and it appeared one stall had been fixed when we had to return but the water mess was still there and the 3rd one was still clogged. Hopefully they can take care of whatever the issue is with that for future visitors. Otherwise it was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend, especially for little boys and girls who love planes.
We enjoyed our time at the Aerospace Museum! My husband and I have been here a few times and had friends from Wisconsin visiting and knew we had to bring them here. The museum has so much to offer! It was neat that they had a model of the plane that my husband flys on, so we could give his friends a mini "tour." You can easily spend a good part of the day at this museum! Very educational!
A thoroughly impressive museum. Honestly, I expect something smaller and less impressive, but it really blew my expectations out if the water. They have great programs and tours and the planes are amazing. This is definitely a museum to come from all-over to visit. The gift shop is nice, and all of the staff was friendly and helpful.
This is a biased review because I love airplanes, space, and the history of flight. The Atlas rocket by the entrance is super cool. The Sr-71 Blackbird hanging in the entrance is INCREDIBLE! The Apollo and Mercury capsules were amazing to see. Everything here invokes such a deep sense of awe, wonder, and reference to the women and men who sacrificed their time, talents, and even their lives for the advancement of flight and space flight. This was my favorite place I visited while visiting Omaha.
A nice, indoor place to spend time year-round. The large static display hangar has an impressive collection of WWII, Vietnam, and Cold War era aircraft, includng the U-2, as well as the SR-71, B-1 (displayed outside), B-17, B-52 and B-36. They also have a hangar where volunteers help restore aircraft for display. There is an educational area for kids to learn about science, and they also have a snack bar. During the summer, the museum hosts an annual one-day helicopter "fly-in" that is fun to see. Our six year old son loves this place, as do I.
Held a dinner here for a conference we were running in LaVista. Great place, wonderful staff
Even if you have absolutely no interest in planes or aerospace, you'll find something here to enjoy. The amount of detail that goes into the exhibits is incredible and the staff is great.
This is a really cool place. Lots of aircraft from throughout history. My 2 year old son loved it.
This is a great place for all ages weather you are into planes or need something to do this place is great! It's also a good place for kids.
The tour was great! Loved hearing the stories that go along with the planes. Tour guide makes all the difference.
I went there on a Scout trip to earn a badge and as a kid that loves airplanes this place was heaven for me. Everything I saw and did only made me want to be a pilot even more.
