REVIEWS OF Kregel Windmill Factory Museum IN Nebraska

Connie Cox

This place is so cool and the young man is very knowledgable about family business. Loved it

Isaiah Yott is the asst director. He loves his job there and takes it seriously. We stopped by Sunday afternoon and spent an hour there. Great videos and the factory looks like it did when they stopped in the 90s. Very educational tweens and below. I'm an engineer and enjoyed looking at the old manufacturing and machine equipment.

Tawnya Wylie

Very interesting and very educational.

Doug Sterbenz

Christopher Ely

Great place to see if you love old tools and work methods. Something like 17 machines driven from a pair of lineshafts, including a large jointer, rip saw, power hacksaw, two lathes and more. Our guide was an intelligent and knowledgeable young man with a clear passion for both windmills and local history. Locals get in free and entry for out-of-towners is reasonable.

Great stop. This is history frozen.

This was a great place to go through, I had no idea prior to going.

Every single tool and machine here reminds me of dad's works in my childhood. Here is absolutely awesome.

Robert Zahnter

Found the Windmill Factory Museum to be very interesting. It is so neat to take a step back in time. Walking in to the museum, it looks as though time has been frozen in the early 1900s.

Jason Nelms

Awesome place.

Alan Britton

Great view into the past.

Tim Millard

jeff buol

Amazing place. Definitely worth checking out.

Joshua Green

Only got to see from the outside but it looked very interesting

Keith Brown

A wonderful piece of undisturbed history for those interested in agriculture or in eating. The tour takes roughly an hour, but could have taken three hours and I would have listened to every word. A lesson in ingenuity and the thriftiness of a by-gone generation of immigrants passed on to family. The working conditions in the small plant will amaze but the need for employment but more important, the need for water in larger quantities for livestock and gardens was higher priority. Nebraska City is a unique small town on the Missouri and this stop, Kregel's Windmill Factory, is a must stop and STAY for a while.

Got to see an authentic 15th century working windmill. Very interesting!

Genevieve Randall

This is an amazing piece of history. And I'm not a farmer or metal worker or engineer or any of that. To see a place, in tact as it was the last day the guy worked there is so rare! And the touch screens that have explanatory video or that light up parts of the space, telling you what they are...that's genius.

It is always a great stop to see all the windmill parts and see history

kevin tranmer

You wont see this anywhere else. Fascinating history. Smart, industrious people in Nebraska,s past.

Matt Harriger

Although this museum is small, there is a surprising amount to see here. Everything was left in place from the final day that the factory was in operation, so this feel much more "real" than a typical museum.

Cassie Stearman

Fun little museum to visit. We spent about45 minutes and learned some interesting things. The museum director gave a discussion about the history and was very knowledgeable and kind. Fun family stop.

A great piece of Midwest history! The museum is just as the factory was left. All the old tools, some 100 years old, proudly on display. Very cool.

Now this is a neat place to visit. Seeing how early production was done. The engineering involved in making a windmill is outstanding. The museum is the plant itself and it has been left in as original condition as possible. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this little gem.
