This Museum belongs to the category of Museum.
We've had a membership for three years running now. Our kids love the museum and would go every day if they could. They have the Crocs! exhibit right now and it was really fun for them to check out the live crocodiles. The kids have a blast in the kids room upstairs and we enjoy checking out the planetarium. During the summer the living history exhibit is also very cool.
Really cool museum with a planetarium and and an awesome dinosaur exhibit, plus a croc exhibit. Also my cat died today. I'm on vacation from the east coast, and my dad had to put the cat down. The museum was a good distraction. Great museum, RIP Cinnamon.
2 day admission was a great idea! No rush to see everything and plenty to explore from the GREAT dinosaur exhibit and the discovery zone for kids. The planetarium also features a different show every hour.
We had a great visit to the museum while passing through Bozeman. A modest size but packed full of informative and entertaining displays. Heavy on dinosaurs and fossils, the displays the best we've seen even compared to Minneapolis and Denver museums of natural history. The facility is very well maintained and includes revolving displays; currently, covering the mongolian emperor Genghis Khan. The staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming.
The museum was so fun! If you need a little break, check out the planetarium movie or the Mindbender Mansion beyond the illustration exhibit. It is full of little puzzles you can do to join the little elite puzzle solving club (can't remember the name). It's mostly aimed towards children but three grown adults (my dad, my brother and myself) had a BLAST trying to solve the puzzles, as well as sometimes feeling a little dumb since we had trouble solving a couple of them. The dinosaur exhibit is beautiful and well put together. I certainly learned more in this museum than I have in a while!
The family had a great time here. Very well laid out and very informative. I would recommend to anyone.
Very kid friendly museum with a ton of interactive exhibits. The dinosaur exhibits and the planetarium are worth the price alone. Give yourself plenty of time...there is a lot to see and do.
Cool museum. Great variety from dinosaurs to guitars. I didn't have enough time to get through it all.
Greatest dinasour muesum in US. Part of Montana state University. Only one sign on I 90 Did not give exit. It is a fair distance from the Freeway. The docent Lindia was knowledgable and a good speaker. She kept the grand children on track as well as the grandparents.
Awesome museum! Clean, packed full of history, and fair prices. My husband and I absolutely loved the dinosaur exhibit! We’ve never seen anything else like it.
Well displayed, as well the lay out is easy to go wherever you want in the museum. Also the attention to detail and pinpointing on displays where they where found was amazing. They also offered more elaborate displays off more recent history. Definitely check in to this place. It is well worth the $14 admission fee.
Very interesting place! We loved the dinosaur collection, and found the lab where techs were cleaning recent finds to be immensely fascinating to watch. The area out back with authentic buildings and living history exhibits was great as well. The flowers were beautiful.
The best museum and our personal tour was really a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you
Always a good place to take the kids!
Worth a visit if you have guests in from out of town. An impressive array of dinosaur skeletons. We saw a film here about MC Escher that was light on facts and heavy on visuals - I would have been happy to skip it. But still, a cool spot for tourists.
Good exhibits and laid out nicely.
like xin chen said, national treasure. I loved my guys trip to Bozeman. Sacgawea pass highly reccommended. great hike
Our favorite museum. The kids want to stay all day!
If you're traveling anywhere within a couple of hundred miles this museum is definitely wort adding to your travel plans. The museum has a and excellent collection of dinosaurs including and actual T-Rex. The collections are well annotated with pointers to additional information sources. The also have an excellent book store with reasonable prices.
The museum itself was amazing and we enjoyed our visit, but being followed around by the security guard the whole time we were there was very off putting.
Must visit if you are in Bozeman! We have visited many museums in the US but Rockies has the best ‘Siebel Dinosaur Complex’. We have not seen such collections even in California Acadamy of science, SF or Natural history museum in DC! When we visited in July, we got to experience their changing exhibit "The Real Genghis Khan. Mongolian empire showcased beautifully! Very well displayed with great experience. They also have a pretty kids play area on the upper level.
I love the museum! Great place to go when you have a day off and want some entertainment!
An excellent museum.
Really worth a visit!
Great museum and worthwhile getting the elk and bison sliders outside. Wonderful.
Awesome museum! Fun, educational, and affordable.
Love this museum as it has bunch of real dinosaurs fossils and full scale of the sizes. It even raises some questions besides the display and let you read the details to find out the answer. For example, why there is hole in the skull of this dinosaur, it’s used to let vessel pass thru. From the bone you can see those *tops are actually different because some of them has the hole and some does not. Also they may have two horns or three horns.
This is a great museum and planetarium for adults and kids. The best dinosaurs anywhere! There's an entire kids' area upstairs and a huge traveling exhibit hall. The outdoor homestead with living history interpretation makes MOR one of the best values for your admission ticket.
Very high quality museum affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. The dinosaur exhibits are literally world class, with the largest collection in the United States. This museum houses the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex skull ever found! Another scientific focus of the museum is the natural and cultural history of the Rocky Mountains, with collections going back 500 million years. The Living History Farm, a frontier homestead with live actor protrails of the 1800's life is next to the museum in the warmer months and is very interesting. The Taylor Planetarium, located in the museum, is a great place to sit down and enjoy a variety of shows in the 104 seat, 40 ft. doomed theater.
Fun! Fun! So much to experience! Didn't get to check out the outside area, but the inside was beautiful. The planetarium was an experience.
I COME HERE EVERY YEAR WHEN I VISTET MY GRANDMA.
WOW! I am impressed!! I am an out of state visitor spending a week in Bozeman for outdoor adventuring. Took a day off to rejuvenate from all the activities. Decided to go to the museum to see some dinosaur fossils. I had my doubts as most exhibits of this nature have very few real fossil, with most being small and unimpressive or fossil impressions on rocks. I was COMPLETELY wrong and TOTALLY blown away by the exhibits. We paid about $12/person for admission which included the WHOLE museum and ALL of the exhibits. I believe regular admission for an adult is $14.50. We were given a 10% discount for having a AAA membership. They also give other discounts as well. We first ventured into the exhibit for Children's literature illustrations. What a facinating exhibit. They detailed the life and history of many famous children's book illustrators including: Dr. Seuss, Maurice Sendak, Richard Scary, and many, many others. We then ventured over to the Dinosaur exhibits. It started mild as most do with the beginnings of the Earth's formation and the evolution of plants and animals. We walked around the next corner, and BAM! full on fossils with detailed and easy to digest informational plaques. We then walked into the adjoining room and SHA-ZAM!! FULL SIZED T-REX on display. The T-Rex was amazing but the highlight of this last room was the high quality and various sizes of the Triceratops display. WOW! Amazing place and completely worth the visit. Add to that the exhibits we didn't have time to see, such as the planetarium shows, the Yellowstone exhibit with a Children's hands on Yellowstone exhibit, all for less than the cost of lunch. AND your admission pass is good for TWO days!! MOR definitely "rocked" my world!
A must see in Montana. Very precious exhibits.
Great place to go, went all the time as I was younger. Helpful staff, great gifts and incredibly fun.
A great museum for the entire family! Interesting and educational exhibits.
I love dinosaurs, and so does my son, this was such a great museum to see them! It was extra cool getting to see staff cleaning dinosaur bones while we were there too!
Excellent collection of dinosaur bones. Great kids' room.
Amazing Fossils! This place is interesting and what's more fun than dinosaurs! If you collect squished pennies the children's discovery area has a t-rex one!
Awesome place to visit, have attended many lectures and exhibits, shows etc. I lived right across the street for years! I feel like they could offer A LOT more though with the platform that they are...
This museum is clearly a national treasure, worth of a few hours if you are in the area. Particularly, we enjoyed both dinosaur fossil collection and the native Americans collection. The dinosaur fossil collection is very extensive and informative. Top of the world research on dinosaurs here as we were told. The museum stuff and volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable. As we missed the regular guided tour, we were given a “short” version of the tour in the dinosaur fossil collection. Highly recommended!
I love the Museum of the Rockies! Wonderful new exhibits and love the permanent exhibits, too. Love that there is always something for kids of all ages to do and see.
It's an excellent museum if you get there VERY early before the families. The displays are exceptional and if you are truly fascinated by Paleontology you are in the correct spot for seeing great stuff. Unfortunately, as soon as the families arrive your experience will morph from a peaceful observation and contemplation of what was to a nerve racking experience of parents constantly trying to answer questions of 4 and 5 year olds, as well as, the continual chatter of kids rambling around and fathers ordering them to pay attention so they do not run into other people. It's a constant problem in all museums across America. Avoid the lack of peace by arriving at the moment the museum opens. Hopefully, you will be far enough ahead of the families to at least get some peace. I truly wish that museums would have times where adults could tour without families. Even one hour.
I love seeing the history of Montana and who doesn't love dinosaurs? It would be nice to see more traveling exhibits.
Nice museum. Price is a bit high at $14, but lots there.
Always an amazing visit to MOR.
they serve amazing AUTHENTIC tacos. feels like your in mexico
Best dino exhibit I've seen or recall. Various exotic specimens only found in MT. Museum cases also have clean glass/lexan.
Drove 6 hours to find they were closing early. With people travelling from all parts of the world they should not change visiting hours that are posted on the web and trips are planned around. We had 45 minutes & thankfully were advised by staff to start at the dinosaur exhibits which were outstanding and as far as the time we were left with was all we saw.
A great place to take the family. The room upstairs is one of my children's favorite places to play and learn. The collection of dinosaur bones is amazing as are the explanations of dinosaur physiology.
Great museum. The dinosaurs, which really are the reason folks come, are very well displayed. The information provided is very informative and a terrific way to learn. Their is information geared towards children, but most of it is towards adults. Which is great! They also surprisingly have one of the best museum gift shops I’ve ever seen. I took the bus from Big Sky and then walked from the stop to here, a few signs and a little bit more friendly towards foot traffic would be nice, but the museum itself is wonderful.
Love the period house and the blacksmith shop
LOVED THE ENTIRE MUSEUM BUT THE OLDER LADY WORKING AT THE FORK IN THE ROAD FOOD TRUCK WAS THE RUDEST PERSON WE MET IN MONTANA...WAS DISGRACEFUL HOW SHE TREATED THE CUSTOMERS...TURNED A GREAT DAY INTO A NIGHTMARE IN 3 MINUTES
I loved this place! I feel a little smarter after visiting the museum. It was great to see good explanations next to the items. I've read almost all of them and many times I found myself thinking "wow, I didn't know that!". I saw the Escher universe movie at the planetarium and it was very good. Staff was very friendly and asked me where I was from and made a little chat. Keep up the great work!
The employees at the front desk were more involved with socializing. And were rude when aked any questions. I visited 15 years ago and it was amazing. I use to recommed this museum, that will no longer happen after this visit. The planetarium the doors were open before the show concluded disturbing the view. A complete disappointment. I have done the dinosaur trial and this was not the gem of the tour.
We visited just to see the Dinosaur fossils and we were not disappointed. Amazing displays and you really get a feel for how amazing dinosaurs really were. We also visited the planetarium to see a film about Escher. Warning for anyone seeing it, you may get motion sickness watching it. I ended up having to close my eyes at times as it made me feel queasy. The film baffled us to be honest, as the link between his art and the universe was tenuous. Nevertheless enjoyed the museum.
Great display of dinosaur artifacts and be sure to watch the planetarium movie. The movies last about 30 minutes and are edited to keep all ages interested.
I have been here a few times... It's fun your first time! The exhibits are new, the planetarium is always interesting, and the featured exhibits are always different. Unfortunately, I was looking forward to the featured exhibit... I hadn't realize it was changing to a new one. I got through the same exhibits I have seen the times before to find the featured exhibit was closed. :( I wish the price was discounted for this reason. I do recommend this awesome place if you have not been. It is also a great place to bring friends and family when visiting. Updated Review: Thank you for your response. I think the M.O.R. is a great place to visit for all. I appreciate the offer for reimbursement in cost. I know my admission is going for a good cause and could not ask that. I may have recieved a discounted price and was not informed and just thought I was charged full price, I know we received discount for my dad being a veteran. I was disapointed we had missed the featured exhibit and was unaware the doors were closed. It is definitely a 5 star attraction for Bozeman!
We'll worth the visit. Way more than just Rockies. Full blown museum. Lots of stuff to keep kids interested.
What kids area? Many doors were locked and staff was rude when asked a simple question.
Best museum in the world I loved it so much I like that there's a kids area upstairs so much history if you have kids you should take them there there is a planetarium And tons of fossils
If you're going to see the MOR 555 it is not going to be there about next 50 years...
Outstanding museum, with a world-class paleontology section and a rotating set of traveling displays. Currently (February 25 - September 10, 2017) they have CROCS: ANCIENT PREDATORS IN A MODERN WORLD. Appropriate for ages 2 and up! Included in museum admission ($14.50 for adults). Annual membership for two adults is $65.00 per year, so it's paid for itself in less than 3 visits. Well worth it as a way to visit, plus provide ongoing support for the museum's mission.
The exhibits are great!
I had a very exciting time and loved the planetarium. You have to check it out.
They have a T-Rex and an air guitar on display. A must see museum.
Really neat all the way around. I suggest seeing one of the planetarium shows if you get a chance. The garden was fun to visit also. Lots to see and do here!
The loved the museum, especially the dinosaur sections since you don't see these exhibits often. It took around 2 hours to completely checkout the museum. That includes the planetarium show. I started with watching the show at planetarium. It was "Season of light". Didn't like it to be honest. The graphics looked very kiddish. Mostly felt like done by a kid in a school project. They could have done it way better. Most of the times it felt like they didn't utilize the planetarium effect much. They could have introduced some Milky way or some more realistic shots. Most of the graphics were really foolish. The story was fine. I liked the dinosaur section a lot, along with the occasional background noise and all the information that were presented there. The native american section was also very interesting to me.
Museum was nice but it was crazy packed. Kids everywhere running around. It was not my cup of tea. Maybe I just picked a terrible day to go.
We love the Museum of the Rockies. Don't miss this spot when you visit the area, and try to plan time to watch a presentation at the Planetarium. The permanent exhibits are sure to please and the traveling exhibits are always interesting. The children's area upstairs is nice to give parents a bit of a break.
Great museum. Kids love it. Adults do too. Well worth the time to visit.
Amazing fossils and informative staff.
Our family of six truly enjoyed our time there.
One of the greatest museums I have ever been to. I had thought it was a geology museum, but it is so much more. The museum covers geology, dinosaurs, transportation, the Romans and the native Americans. The gift store is not great, but the rest is very impressive. The dinosaurs section is one of the best I have ever seen, even when compared to larger museums like the Smithsonian.
I have been to the Museum of the Rockies a few times and I love this place! I really enjoy all the exhibits they have (favorite is the dinosaur exhibit). It's really neat to go back in time with like the Native American exhibit and the exhibit that holds like the old homes, cars, antiques, etc... They have, during the summer, an outside exhibit of like some cool old artifacts and homesteading buildings. I recommend going at least one time during winter because they have a really cool planetarium that talks about the history of Christmas. I took my wife twice and we both loved it.
Outstanding exhibits and world class dinosaur fossils. Don't miss this place! Take the whole family.
I love this Museum. It’s in my backyard but they keep the exhibits interesting so we go a few times a year. Even though I’ve walk through the dinosaur complex a hundred times I still cruise though every time I go. There’s also great western history there. Worth the money and the time.
Haven't been in years. Great place great displays and excellent staff. The planetarium was awesome !
The dinosaur exhibit exceeded our expectations! The T-Rex was impressive, my kids really liked the Triceratops from hatchling through adult. Scattered throughout where displays that could be touched.
Awesome place! Great for people of all ages and very affordable. Definitely worth it.
A great little museum in Bozeman. As a visitor to Bozeman, I loved that a ticket gets you two days of access to the museum. The fossil exhibits were great.
Definitely worth going to at some point. Their dinosaur exhibit is the best!
My kids are into dinosaurs, so this experience was beyond perfect! We were on our way to ND when we learned about this place while looking for Panda Express lol So now this will be our "half way rest spot". We absolutely enjoyed place!
Really fun educational place for adults and kids. They have a little bit of everything for everybody. My husband and I went around Christmas and they had alot of great shows on the stars and planets plus how we got alot of our Christmas traditions. Tons of awesome Dinosaur fossils who doesn't love that. You could spend hours looking at all the neat stuff. It was great cant wait to go back.
Small, but awesome! Loved the guitar section.
One of my favorite pass times is going to the museum. They have some rather breath-taking exhibits. The facility is well marked and clean. Not to mention the planetarium has some great showings! Would recommend for anyone in the area, whether you're a resident or just visiting.
Starting with 'Big Mike' T-Rex at the front door, free planatarium shows all day, to the rotating featured exhibit, and exceptional paleontology / dinosaur section, MOR is a fun, educational treat for adults & kids alike!
We actually came for the dinosaurs - which is the must stunning exhibition we’ve seen so far. But then we realised all the other exciting things you can experience there. Unfortunately we had not enough time to go thru all of it with the appropriate attention. But even if you only have just 45min before they close - go there and have a look at the dinosaurs. There was also a discounted rate if you come shortly before closing which is really cool and a nice thing to do.
Just the best dino fossils I have seen til now!
Loved our visit especially the dinosaurs! Lots of Montana history too.
One of the best (and most up to date) dinosaur exhibits in the world, along with a few interesting historical exhibits including some old cars and stagecoaches. Everything included with admission (even the planetarium!), which is valid for 2 days... Wish all museums worked like that!
Loved my first visit today...great time!!
Great museum. We used our museum pass here for another museum. Loved the large collection of dinosaur bones. The kids area was great. My kids happily played there for an hour. They do turn off the noisy parts in the morning for kids that need a quieter time.
We went there during 4th of July holydays, and we enjoyed the exhibitions. Dinosaurs are the main attraction but the whole museum is great.
Excellent place to visit. So many fossils and the historic farm with actors in it is so cool. I love this place.
Nice museum. Breathtaking skeletons and historical events explanations you shouldn’t miss. I regret the fact that the place is small and that half of it is dedicated to time-limited exhibits. Great museum shop though. It was pretty expensive for the time I spent there. Still recommend it for the extraordinary things I saw.
Love the way it engages my kids every time we come! It's a fabulous stop for a visitor, and worth the membership as a local to visit with kids all year (especially the long winter!)
It's a very good place ,its entertaining.i would reccomend coming here
The museum recently switched to Winter hours, those being 9 to 5. The museum itself was awesome- the dinosaur section had updated information, recent finds, tons of explanations and examples to read. Way more bones than I've seen at any other museum. Even just to see the dino exhibit is worth it, but there's also a section about the polar region, one about settlers and the earlier days, and even a planetarium. So much to see here, I honestly could spend a couple hours looking at everything.
Great museum with an amazing collection of Dinosaur Fossils. Part of the museum when I was there was a traveling exhibit on Genghis Khan that was fascinating. There is also a section outside that we didn't have time to see. So allow lots of time! Your ticket is good for two days!
Fun! Not just dinosaurs, had a guitar display also
Good place for kids. Won't recommend to tourists coming to visit the Yellowstone park. You can get better experience inside the park.
Great expositions, fun facts and friendly staff. I liked the T-rex which was painted brown if it's an original bone and white if it's a replica, or comparison of dinosaurs to birds. Also the fact that every bone come from Montana. At that time, the special exhibits was on Crocs (Crocodiles and Aligators), I liked the interactive displays of professors explaining all my questions (how do you distinguish male / female? how long they live? are teeth replaced?)
Neat museum with plenty to see. The dinosaurs are awesome!
Superb museum in all respects. Well worth the time and effort to visit.
Great for kids and adults. The boys loved the dinosaur exhibit.
Loved it! Lots of bones.
A great place to come visit. I learned lots of things regarding dinosaurs. One day is not enough to visit this place especially if you are into dinosaurs.
Exhibits very diverse, unusual as well as tastefully displayed. The Taylor planetarium is informative, state of the art, clean and inviting.
Lonely planet said take at least half a day, but that's a bit overstated. Their dinosaur collection is impressive, but the rest is nothing special - we've been in this type of musea all over the world. There is no loop or route, suddenly your at the end of the path and have to return the same way you came.
Super awesome museum! There is always something new and it is a great place for the family! I'm in college but my favorite part is still the interactive kid corner! I could spend all day there! Worth the price of admission!
We have visited every year for almost ten years. Now that all my kids are older teens, they asked me why we should go back... but once we were there they were hooked and didn't want to leave.
Please show your love for this museum. Their admission is completely reasonable, and fun for the whole family! We spent a whole afternoon just marveling at their collections.
This place has always been a highlight of my trips to MT. The staff are always friendly and the dinosaur exhibit is state of the art, much better than the Smithsonian or the Museum of Natural History in Chicago. I cannot believe how many fossils they have on display. The full Tyrannosaurus skeleton was breathtaking. All of the panels describing the artifacts and dioramas are informative and interesting. Even with a lot of kids running around the Museum was a treat.
Any time we are driving through Bozeman we stop. Definitely one of my favorite places to go.
We had heard a lot of good things about this museum. Unfortunately we were not terribly impressed. I know many really like this museum, but it just didn’t seem to fit with our tastes. The dinosaur displays are very impressive. It held the kids attention for the most part (age 8 and 10). Many full size skeletal displays, lots of info on archeological techniques and methods, explanation of time periods, and probable behavior patterns of the different species. Most of the museum is devoted to the dinosaurs. There is also a small section that deals with local history from around the area, and finally a room the was dedicated to the history of the guitar. These were okay displays - nothing special though or unique. Seemed like a mish-mash of material though - dinosaurs, local history, guitars. Overall, some of the museum displays seemed pretty old, and others lacked any interesting information. There were some that were quite interesting, but in our group of 4 adults and 2 children, we all left feeling a little underwhelmed. We had expected more. My kids generally like museums and request we go to them (they loved the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix). But they were done with this one in about 45 minutes. It felt a little old and dingy. It’s all personal preference, but I wouldn’t plan a day around going here.
My best museum. You can learn alot. Interesting facts .
Great place to experience Montana's dinosaur past! A must-see while in Bozeman. Great, hands-on activities for kids. Come see the whole outdoor western exhibit in the summer to truly experience the old West!
A very neat collection at a reasonable price. The dinosaur bone collection is great. We probably spent too much time in some of the other collections so were a little tired by the time we got to the Dinosaur section. Nice area for kids on the second floor.
Outstanding exhibits. Great mix of visually stimulating displays with information heavy descriptions. Kids stops with toys/chairs. Definitely worth admittance fee.
Such an amazing museum. I want to stay all day!
It is a fun place to go to. Ticket price is fair. Don’t miss the 3D cinema show .
Great museum! Our kids (4, 3 and 1) all had a great time. The dinosaurs are the well-deserved main attraction but the Explore Yellowstone interactive exhibit has so much to do. We spent most of our time up there. As an aside, if you are going to Yellowstone, Bozeman is a nice place to start or finish your trip. It’s a cute town.
First time and loved all the t-rex skeletons. They had live alligators and crocodiles too. planetarium plays on the hour. Great exhibits.
Love this museum, it is a must visit every time we are in the area. The exhibits are very interesting, my kids love the Tinsley House and being able to see history in action. The docents who work in the house are very knowledgeable about the time period and are able to answer any questions we have. The dinosaur exhibit is also a favorite with many of the fossils having been discovered in Montana. The planetarium shows occur frequently on the weekends throughout the day and are included in museum admission. This is a very child friendly museum with many things that children can touch and hold. There is a children's area upstairs for kids 8 and under with lots of fun activities. This is a great place to spend an afternoon or even longer!
Nice place with some more then dinosaurs
Fantastic! Great science, great explanations for all levels from little kids to professional geologists (retired, but still learning). Rarely have I seen science so well explained for the layman both kids and adults.
Can finish in 30 munites. Rich collections of all types of dinosaurs' bones.
Amazing dinosaur exhibits plus local history and culture. Definitely a highlight of my trip to Bozeman.
Great fossil displays and lots of interesting info on Yellowstone and early setteler life in Montana
Always enjoy this Museum.
Excellent museum. Well laid out with large collection of bones, fossils and replicas of many dinosaurs. Great displays of the ages of dinosaurs from embryo, to egg, hatchling, juvenile...reasonable entry fee and great gift shop staff.
It was an amazing museum. I know a few reviewers said they were not that impressed with it outside of the dinosaurs and to be fair compared to a lot of other museums most of it was not. The real reason to go though is the dinosaurs. It was truly enchanting seeing all of the fossils, especially the full sized ones. My sister and I have always held some interest in the world of dinosaurs and to see it so vividly brought to life with these enormous skeletal remains was a one of a kind experience. When we rounded the corner into the room displaying the t-rex and the triceratops, my sister almost started crying she was so excited. I would 100 percent recommend it for any dino lovers out there, you won't be disappointed.
One of the best museums that I have visited! Excellent exhibits and well-organized floor plan. Your admission covers museum entry for two days, which means that you can spend as much time as you need exploring the various exhibits. Highly recommend!
Underwhelming. Based on the reviews, I thought it would be terrific. The amount of dinosaur bones and that exhibit was the only one worth going for. The admission price was a bit steep ($14/adult and less for kids) for what you get. If you are into guitars, they have a nice selection of them, but it seems a bit out of place in Montana. The kids play area upstairs was fun for my 9yo, but my 12yo was bored. They were not interested in going around the exhibits outside.
We both enjoyed it very much. The movies were great. The exhibits were very well done.
a really excellent collection of fossils and other cool exhibits.
Great for such a small museum. Definitely doesn't rotate it's in house attractions much but they always have new planetarium shows and rotating main attractions.
Great place and nice exhibits.
Great Montana and rotating world history.
So much to see. Great exhibit for any age. My son loved it at the age of 2. We stopped by on our way thru to Washington state. Great time and would reccomend. Alligator exhibit and dinosaurs were stellar
Amazing museum. Probably one of our favorites as we've traveled this beautiful country and have seen many museum's. This museum is for all ages. Love the many dinosaur artifacts and displays. Fun times! Follow our adventure (see more photos) via Facebook/Instagram @ Happy Campers 227 as we travel this beautiful country full time.
The museum is packed with family friendly exhibits and activities. It also has one of the best collection of dinosaur bones that I have ever seen. Definitely worth going to even with young children.
Extensive but also easy to enjoy dinosaur exhibits!
Awesome planatarium shows schedule your visut around one you would like to see. Great place to take kids or a hot date you want to impress with your intellect.
Had a great time. We came especially for the dinosaurs and were in awe of the collection! It was a great learning experience and our son loved looking at all of the dinosaurs fossils and replicas. Incredible experience!
Still working on updating sections of the museum. Otherwise, a great experience and a great informative tour.
Very interesting and well done. Can do in a couple hours. Excellent interactive things for kids especially the Yellowstone room.
The dinosaur section is excellent and I loved the planetarium too! So nice that it's included in the price of admission.
I always love coming here with my son!
Excellent museum. The dinosaur collection is fantastic thanks to the amazing paleontologists they have working with them. The rotating exhibits make it worthwhile to visit several times a year. Our son loves the play area upstairs.
This is one of my favorite museums in Montana. Spectacular exhibits and the planetarium is out of this world. Highly recommended!!
This is a great museum to visit. I love that the planetarium was included as part of admission. The exhibits are all wonderful and very entertaining. Wonderful museum, definitely worth a visit.
We love the museum. Great exhibits and an awesome playroom upstairs. My 3 year old son loves going to see the dinosaurs and to play upstairs. My husband and I also enjoy it.
Such a wonderful time pill of native american culture.
Better than expected. By far the most impressive dinosaur exhibits that I've seen anywhere. Designed with families in mind, our 18 month old had a great time and there's something for everyone. Truely impressive.
That's an awesome museum to visit both for adults & children! Impressive collection of dinosaurs!!! That's something you will never forget Plus there are other expos such as about Native Americans, homes in the pasts, crocs, etc.
MOR is one of Bozeman's gems. I've been quite a few times and it never gets old, especially with the rotating exhibits. A lot of great work and research is going on there. I look forward to seeing the updated/renovated Welcome to Yellowstone exhibit— the old one was surprisingly sparse considering Montana's history. Always stop by if you have a chance.
This is a beautiful museum with exquisite exhibits and a wonderful staff. Before moving here I had always heard how great the Dinosaur Museum in Bozeman is, but boy was I surprised! If you are visiting and love museums, check this place out!
