An interesting place to spend some time taking in the native Indian history.. Had no idea America had 542 Indian tribes! Worth the 30m to 45m time to browse the culture and exhibits. Apparently the Smithsonian museum folks dropped by and were very impressed.. This place had old stuff even the Smithsonian didn't.

Great way to learn more about the Plains Indians since this place is small enough that you can really absorb what they share. Authentic items and concise descriptions. Enjoyed seeing the works of locql artists and chatting with them.

A bit small for the breadth of material and the displays are crowded as a result but very informative.

John Bain

Went in curious as to what they had. I was pleasantly surprised. Artifacts of the Blackfeet plains life were right there in front of me. Especially intriguing were the rattlesnake skin covered bows the warriors made for their ventures out among the buffalo. The store had available some literature about the Blackfeet Tribe. Exciting education.

Elizabeth Bixler

For a small museum this had one of the most interesting displays of native costumes. Beautifully displayed. A lot of thought and pride was evident in each display. Really enjoyed our visit.

It represents the native American population that lived for more than 10,000 years in Montana and in what is now glacier national park. There are traditional clothing on display, explanations of how they made the clothing and a video talking about their history. You can also purchase art made by them.

Excellent collection, and very reasonable entry fee. Good to see that they employ Blackfeet to staff the museum, as well. Unfortunately some of the maps and info are incorrect. The museum facility and informational panels could use an update, the history shown in this museum is worth it!

A humble museum with two historical galleries, a video room with surprisingly intriguing diorama (never thought I’d say that about diorama), a contemporary First Peoples art gallery complete with modern women’s dresses utilizing native motifs - incredible, have you seen Vogue lately? The museum also has art workshops. I was fortunate to meet the son of Ernest Marceau, John, who is an aspiring artist himself. #blackfeetledgerart As I was approaching the museum I noticed the ironwork on the building. I couldn’t help but imagine Frank Lloyd Wright “culturally appropriating” these incredible patterns in his buildings. Take a look!

Wonderful exhibits and information. The $6 fee is more than reasonable. I would have paid up to $15 as it is well worth it! Don't let the older exterior of the building discourage you from stopping in, this museum is a gem.
