This Museum is included in the category of National park.
Quiet and serene. Wish they would pave the whole trail. Would be nice to recreate the cabin. Hope they clean up the area that flooded with the brush. Would like the bench back by the pond. It is a wonderful place.
Had a great trip today!! Wonderful homeschool field trip day! All the Rangers did a great job. Our group had a wonderful time! Thanks so much!!
My children love the museum, trails, activities, and especially the junior ranger camp each summer. There are really fun opportunities to volunteer as well.
A wonderful tribute to one of the great modern humanitarians. The trails, artifacts, and documents are interesting testaments to how incredibly productive one person can be to our one race, mankind, regardless of their obstacles and backgrounds. Very nice!
This is one of my favorite parks!! They have great trails and historic sites. We have learned so much about George Washington Carver. Their Junior Ranger program makes the park fun and interactive for kids. Their exhibits inside are also interesting and educational. The park rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. We drive from Tulsa to visit once a year or so - it's worth the drive!
Its a beautiful place, lots of trees, great free place for a family picnic or reunion. There is a 25 minute movie that explains George's life with pictures. Very interesting. Also many displays to look at and read yet more information. One of very few parks that is totally free to enjoy. Go see it!
We highly recommend stopping at George Washington Carver national monument!
I have always loved taking my kid's here and my parents live very close.
Great place to immerse yourself in history. None of us have ever had as hard of a time as Mr Carver, and he accomplished so much.
I've always liked this place very peaceful lots of photos spots
Stopped on our drive through Missouri, and although it was a little off the beaten path, it was a nice spot to stop and stretch our legs and entertain the kids for an hour. The Memorial includes a museum with one floor about the life of Carver, and a second more interactive floor for kids to learn about plants and studies that Carver was interested in. Outside, there was a mile walk through the woods and land belonging to the Carver family, including their house and family cemetery.
A nice small national monument site, good for an hour if you are passing near and want to stretch. Has small musuem about Carver and a 3/4 mile trail to see some sights.
This is great place to walk. It is handicapped accessible shady and it has lots of benches to set on as you walk.
I will go back to visit and encourage others to go as well! Great for all students & teachers.
Went to art in the park, it was great!
George Washington Carver was a great Ameriy. Much more than the peanut butter man
Nice walk around and intriguing museum.
The rangers were very nice and informative. The wife was so moved she is working on bringing some students there this school year.
Such a lovely national treasure! Staff very helpful. Grounds we're beautiful for our picnic. Very educational and well worth getting off the highway for.
I didn't know a ton about George Washington Carver when I visited the National Monument, but I came away from my visit with great admiration for a man who contributed so much to American life and with tremendous grace, despite the unfair challenges that faced him. The museum is informative and the grounds make for a pleasant, easy walk through the woods.
This place is great. It is neat for family, friends, and Science, Social Studies, and History teacher/classes (educational field trips). This is a really scientific, historical, faith, and social studies experience. This is a must see!
Had a wonderful experience at the park. Love walking the trails and experiencing the beauty of mature.
Peaceful grounds. Excellent history. Exciting to actually hear recording if this great man's voice.
Great place to walk around
Really neat place. You learn about peanuts. Has a trail to walk. Good place to learn about history people are friendly
It was great
Very cool place to visit and lots for the whole family to enjoy.
Very informative. There is a nature trail, picnic area, and we'll appointed musiem with interactive exhibits. Good place for a family outing.
The park has been upgraded from when I was there years ago. There is a lot of information and hands on things to do in the building. Outside the trails are beautiful. I really enjoyed visiting the park.
Very well maintained but not a good hike. Would be fun for kids
This is a great place to actually see where history took place. The exhibits are very well done and the short walking trail is very nice, with a chance to walk through an 1800's cabin.
Nice trail, with inspirational quotes. Plenty of benches to sit and ruminate. I didnt want to sit and ruminate, so I didnt. I just walked the whole way. My 5 year old nephew was a wimp though. He had to take a break, 5 seconds before the end of the trail. He just gave up. Sat in the middle of the sidewalk like he died. Dramatic much????
Great historical site. Very informative and interesting place to visit. The meeting room was comfortable and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate everyone. Parking was very accessible.
Very nice and well cared for by the National Park Service.
Fun place for the family to get out & explore nature, all while learning about a local legend at the same time. There's plenty of walking trails & a visitor center as well. You can watch a 28 min video on the life of GWC - also have several displays that showcase his accomplishments
Loved all the new changes. Can't wait to take my grandboys there
We went as part of a field trip with our church's Vacation Bible School. We had a picnic on the well kept grounds on the sturdy and clean picnic tables. Then we went inside where a park ranger taught our children about George Washington Carver and directed them in making peanut milk. She was very knowledgeable and patient and kind with the children. The walking trail allows the feel of walking in nature while providing the safety of a clearly marked path.
This is a great NPS site devoted to an American treasure, Dr. George Washington Carver. The nature trail loop is a fantastic little slice of nature, easily accessed from two interstates. The exhibits are very interesting as well. Fantastic place, overall.
We started visit by watching video which was very informative. Very interesting! The walk outside was nice with statues. The setting was idyllic. Amazed at the discrimination this wonderful man suffered in his life and continued to move forward without malice.
Amazing place off the road. Very interactive and worth the travel a couple miles off the highway. Beautiful trails and cool to see what a great scientist/farmer can accomplish.
Wonderful experience. Great for families and adults with out children too.
Excellent walking trail 3/4 loop with an additional 1/4 loop around a pond. Great for kids with interactive learning stations.
Always love going there
Inspiring, informative and beautiful woods and fields. Excellent movie and lots of activities for the kids.
Interesting stop. Learned a lot about Dr. Carter, a truly amazing man. A no frills place, no food or snacks.
I'm so happy we went here, it was beautiful and serene. I learned many things about Mr. Carver that I never knew. Very cool museum.
We really enjoyed our visit to this hidden gem of a national park. It was really interesting learning more about George Washington Carver's childhood and background. I would highly recommend making this part of any visit to Missouri.
Great place but I took off a star because it's day use only. There's picnic tables and walking trails outside but you have to be out and they close the gate at 5pm. We got there kind of late so we had to rush through the museum, but it was great! The gift shop didn't have a ton, but what they did have was very good and the ranger was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and helpful. If you're pressing through the area, definitely stop and check it out!
This is a nice family friendly place to go. There is a 1 mile walking trail that is completely wheelchair accessible. Pets are welcome. The visitors center is accessible and cool on a hot day.
Always a great time at George Washington Carver days. Bring the family out
A friend of mine and I visited here recently and I had forgotten how beautiful and full of history it is. Definitely worth your time!!
Awesome walking trail and indoor venue for the kids to check out and explore. Had LOADS of fun!
Great history for class fieldtrip
I was amazed at the information found about such an amazing man. A true renaissance man. The museum is extreamly child friendly. It has many stations for children to explore. It was too hot for the trails but we are looking forward to coming back.
A wonderful tribute to an amazing man. Well-kept and clean area. Interesting displays and hands-on activities.
You only need an hour or two to see everything but the walk is beautiful and information priceless.
great movie and super display
Loved walking here and exploring
Hands down one of the best National Parks we have been to. Nice staff and buildings, trails and trail signs were in good shape, and the displays gave a great, well-rounded information. But the hands on kids' exhibit was the best part. My mom and I took four kids (14, 8,8, and 6) and all of us had a great time. The kids liked playing and learning about what inspired GWC and us adults (both educators) loved being in the mock classroom and reading his quotes on education. Overall, we all left humbled, inspired, and in awe. So glad my son picked this as his place to see on our little trip!!
Amazing tribute to a great man
George Washington Carver, an intelligent man. He respected God, people and the earth. He was a brilliant scientist. I do not know the reason he is not studied in schools. This would be a great place to have a family reunion.
This was a really good experience. I came out with more knowledge than I could have imagined. I was educated with just one visit.
We had never been here before but we really enjoyed our visit with my granddaughter's class. We learned a lot about George Washington Carver! We will definitely be back!
I learned so much, you can say that he was (George Washington Carver) the father of modern agriculture, his understanding of the agriculture industry was leaps and bounds ahead of his time. here in the pick shown are some of the things that can be (in whole or in part) attributed to Mr. Carvers work. a true genius of his time.
Beautiful trails and a great museum. Loved learning about George Washington Carver's life.
A beautiful place to visit. Surprisingly much larger than I expected with many exhibits, many great for kids. We love walking the mile long trail. Will definitely visit again!
Free family fun! If you stop by the administration building, there's a little gift shop with an interesting selection of books AND you can get your national park passport and stamp. Love it!
Pretty cool place. Great for a nature walk.
Loved the family experience a great learning experience
It's a quiet, peaceful place. Small but very informative. Worth the short drive off the beaten path.
Nice place to go walking the paths through the national park and enjoying the piece and and quiet while checking out the history of the grounds and the legend of the man.
Very pleasant setting, and lots of good information. We learned lots of new things about GW Carver. Picnic tables available to make a day of it.
You studied him school now stop here and spend a couple of hours learning the entire story of one of the great minds of our time. Watch the video in the theatre first, this will set up everything you're going to see as you walk around the museum and grounds. An amazing story about an amazing man.
Absolutely amazing. A lot of hsnds on stuff and lots to learn about
Great off the road stop. We stopped to have a picnic in the park area, very nicely kept. Then viewed the museum, great hands on activities for the kids, very well set up, very educational. Welcoming staff. We didn't watch the movie, I'm sure it was great, it was 28 mins long and we have two young boys with us. The nature trail around the grounds was awesome!
One of my favorite all time nature and relaxing parks. The cultural and scientific insights of George Washington Carver are astounding. Great location for a family outing.
I love it so much, I never knew that Carver was such an important figure in history. The info is perfectly displayed and the grounds are beautiful.
A must-see for the history of the United States and our move towards equal rights and education for all. Great stop for little education and they provide a Shady Tree areas with park picnic tables for the public to use
Great shaded walking trail. Small creeks & asphalt for a lot of the trail. Great indoor museum
Beautiful place to learn about a national treasure. Great place for the whole family.
It's a great place to go and learn nice walking trail and creeks
We took 4 toddlers and two babies. The kids loved getting to be outside and explore. We taught them as we went along. It was also nice that it was stroller and wheelchair accessible since one of our 4 yr olds is in wheelchair. And strolling the babes was nice too!
Great natural spot
I remember reading about George Washington Carved as a child, but had no idea of the extent of his scientific work or his social justice work.
Absolutely all inspiring and a wonderful tribute to an amazing human being. Don't miss this when you're in the area.
Not really what I expected. This was a mandatory, paid field trip and I honestly expected more. There was so much down time between changing groups, the students were getting bored and uninterested. Each station told the same story as the last. The best part was the walk through the woods. The gift store is also a little pricey.
Didn't get to go in but looked very interesting for a good time very good learning program for children
What a great inspiration of a man!
Went here on field trip when I was a kid loved it
This is a very fun interaction national monument to come to. Really enjoy the walking trail and all the different things you get to do while there. A good place for anyone to visit.
Beautiful place. Friendly staff
Super informative tour Awesome place!
This is a beautiful place to visit. The park has nice shaded picnic areas, a walking trail through the woods, leading you to the Carvers family home, and the cemetery. The visitor center was designed to allow children to explore upstairs. I've been in the classroom one time with a group of school kids. I can not say enough good things about the park. Great day trip. The Park Rangers are extremely well prepared; leading you through his childhood, and then his accomplishments in life.
The place needs updated! The plants and trees are not named with the common or scientific names. High educational opportunity being missed. The entire experience was elementary to me.
We visit here in all seasons. Close to home. Very nice walking trail. We enjoy the history represented here.
Great place to realize that God can do anything and can show light in the darkness
Wonderful you should go
Wonderful. What an interesting and good man.
Fun lots of walking but still very fun and it's a very cool place
Very informative and kids greatly enjoyed learning about George.
Wonderful informative festival celebrating an American inventor.
Great national park in SW Missouri. Worth visiting, interactive for youth
Visit early to minimize the heat and enjoy the serene walk through the woods of George Washington Carver's childhood homestead.
Such a creative, talented, smart & humble man.
I loved this. I went on my son's school trip with him. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and she made it so fun. We absolutely loved her and the trip
Wonderful place. Lots of interactive exhibits and things to learn. I never knew how amazing G.W. Carver was. They don't teach about amazing people like this in school .
Amazing compilation of the life of George Washington Carver.
Awesome educational site. I learned so much I never knew about George Washington Carver and have such admiration for his life. This is a great pitstop to stretch legs on a beautiful path. Friendly, helpful rangers. Look forward to coming to this again.
Very beautiful place
Beautiful grounds. Really well cared for. Nice experience.
I absolutely loved this!! We just went today! October 13, 2019 was our first time being here, we loved it! So inspirational
Lots of information on the life and accomplishments of this fascinating man. Nice outdoor walk with some facts on his early life and inspirational quotes.
Great place to take the family for a nice walk and some great information!
An informative and inspirational visit. Amazing what one man achieved throughout his life.
Very sad this park closes at 5 p.m. everyday you cannot get in to see anyting
Unique national park with both hikes through the scenic grounds of the Carver farmlands and a museum highlighting the political and scientific contributions of the late G. W. Carver. Fun and interesting for all ages.
Went with school field trip. It was a lovely day and Very educational!
Great place to walk outside. The trails are kept clean. Parking is free. Restrooms are available.
Off the beaten path but a must see! Very educational
One of the reasons I love Missouri. Beautiful trail and Art in the Park today. I got to make a card, an imprint of a Sun fish, a glass ornament, a picture and 2 paintings I fell in love with I will get to purchase this week from an artist that does vinyl pics and amazing spray paintings. I could not have asked for a better day! Thank You Universe!
A place to explore and learn very important stuff and learn and walking around family and friends with experience the whole world natural has G W C The past I will be back .
Rangers were very nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, we got there late in the day, but now we are looking forward to coming back.
So inspirational. GWC's faith is still contagious and encouraging.
Brought my 14yer old daughter and her best friend on spring break. The property is beautiful, the drive was fun (lots of hills, like driving on a roller coaster) and the girls learned a lot.
Wonderful short trip for family with kids.
This place only gets better since I was a kid and now taking my kids to it!
Learned so much. The film they have there is heartbreaking but really informative. Best of all it's dog friendly.
Such a neat gem in rural Missouri. Learned so much on a short amount of time here. What a great Christian intellectual man that worked hard to bridge the racial gap a hundred years ago with love, education, and fellowship. One of the best people to ever live, no kidding.
Great family fun and the kids can learn about history.
So beautiful, so peaceful.
Beautiful. My favorite place in the local area. The museum is well kept and the trails are wide and easy to walk.
Very interesting stop!
This is a great historical place to visit with a nice trail and museum with lots of good info!!
Great history learning with great programs. Well worth a visit for anyone.
Wonderful historical place worth visiting
Very nice place, great for families.
Very well kept. The rangers here are helpful and friendly. Nice place to picnic and relax.
A pretty amazing place! George Washington Carver was a brilliant, industrious, and frugal innovator of the 19th and 20th centuries. He cared deeply for his fellow humans, and was a strongly spiritual man, excelling at the science and metrics of learning everything in nature. He was the conduit for many natural discoveries to reach the industrial world, and his work has a lasting effect on everyday American life. The national monument is a museum, a nature center, and a memorial to this true American. Here, there are restrooms, water, and parking, a picnic area, and walking trails. Everything is accessible to disabled and excellent for young children.
Lots to see here. Interactive things for kids also.
Nature walk through the trees with a stream or two. Very nice and well kept.
My experience was great! Loved the indoors & especially the outdoor trails. The only thing that could be better was the floor & odor while watching the movie.
Great experience, hope to go back. Kids enjoyed themselves and enjoyed the tasks to earn their badges. If you're looking for a place to take a calm short walk, this is it.
This was an amazing experience. What an amazing man who impacted farming and agriculture and racism-simultaneously in spite of absolute and direct oppression. Thank God he had a true reliance on God and an actual relationship with the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Terrific and well organized. Greeted us as soon as we came in the door, and explained all the possibilities. We enjoyed the movie, and it is so well done. Good intro to the rest of the many displays.
Such a great place for families! The trail is short enough for the little kids to do okay and the displays and educational information inside are wonderful. My kids and I went here a lot when they were young. Good, free entertain and education!
Very interesting and peaceful
Good park
This was an awesome experience that I took with the fifth and sixth graders at Service Valley Charter Academy.
Easy walks, very educational and spiritual not to mention it's FREE
One of the best local places we have found to go on a walk in nature. Inside there are many displays and even a theater with a 30 min movie. We learned new history. It was intriguing to learn everything.
Wow what place and what man. Great job
Such a humble man!!! Of which our generation rarely encounters. I an honored to have been a part of today's visitors to the monument. Thank you...all the employees for caring for this wonderful site!
Very interesting exhibits. Great facility.
This is a great park for a short hike and capturing a little history. If you like peanut butter and history, this is a place for you. Also a great story of a man who went from slave to scientist. Highly recommend this place!
A must see for all ages! It is well kept and the walking trails have flowers I've never seen before. Rich with history. Perfect for you history lovers!
Ths place is quite peaceful! I imagined Mr. Carver traversing the countryside as a young boy , thinking that I walked in the same place as this great man. It was an honor to be here today. The park has been well kept and the history well preserved. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and patient with our group. This is definitely worth the stopping and visiting.
