REVIEWS OF Natchez Museum-African American Culture IN Mississippi

Randolph Moore 3

Very informative and clear on the history of Afro Americans giving props to the Indian, British, French and Spanish people. The video is good but I think it cut off at the end. I liked that it was cash donations only too.

Jeremy and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with their pride in their town, it's evolution from a Slave capitol, to a town of many African-American firsts. Made me so proud to be a descendant of so much culture and achievement.

Carol Ramirez

Amazing! No charge for admission. You may however make a donation.

I have wanted to visit this museum for quite some time. I was not disappointed. The museum is well kept and the material, books, art, and information presented is fascinating. It was like looking back in time and then wondering how people will see us in a hundred years. I would recommend a visit to this museum.

I was so pleasantly surprised to see such a collection of literature, artifacts that I grew up with, such as the metal iron, iron stove and heater, churn and other items in this large building. Those who founded and those in charge have done an outstanding job in making history available. To my surprise, I saw my last name spelled the way we in Louisiana spell it for the first time. This has inspired me to do further research as to the origin of my ancestors.

(Translated by Google) Very warm welcome by the babysitter who told us the story of her great grandfather, slave. Small museum that tries to save the past and tell the story of the slaves of the region. (Original) Accueil très chaleureux par la gardienne qui nous a raconté l'histoire de son arrière grand-père, esclave. Petit musée qui tente de sauvegarder le passé et de raconter l'histoire des esclaves de la région.

Small museum but a lot to see and read. The tour is detailed and I would also suggest leaving a lot of time to peruse the many exhibits there. I only wish the tour had been a set duration so I could have timed my visit better, I had to cut it short to get to another tour I had booked. Definitely worth a visit though .

This was my third time visiting Natchez and I had never visited this museum. This was an absolute treat. My husband is from Natchez and it was his first time visiting. If you can get Darryl White to give a guided tour, you are in for a treat. This guy knows Natchez history backwards and forwards. My kids also enjoyed it,.

Un musée avec beaucoup d'histoires et surtout une mention spéciale pour notre guide qui a fait l'effort de parler en Français, les enfants ont eux aussi beaucoup apprécié. Enjoy!
