Absolutely amazing! My kids are obsessed with trains so this place was a dream come true for them. There was so much to see and do. We were never even for a moment were bored. Plenty of spots to sit down and rest and the trains are fun for adults too, especially if you like models. The staff was friendly and helpful. I could easily spend all day here. The best part, IT'S FREE, there is an option to donate if you would like but absolutely no pressure to do so. We will be back!
Wife and I stopped by. Place was great. Brought back many memories. What do people want for a small donation? So much time and effort put into all the displays. Keep up the great work!
Really cool museum.
My toddler loves it. He loves all the model trains on display over there and can just watch them all day. The outdoor rides are interring for the kids, but the whole place is riddled with extension cords every where (an OSHA inspectors nightmare). Admittance is free and they take donations, so you can't beat that!
This is a great museum for enjoying model railroad trains, all sizes and types of displays. I became a kid again! We have taken our Grandkids there on numerous occasions.
Great place for the kids!
Geared more to model railroading. With a heavy dose of Legos. Worthwhile goal in the sea if any interest in either.
This place is amazing. There are millions of Legos, tons of trains, and all assorted interesting displays for all ages. Both my kids (1 & 3) had a blast here Saturday. We were told by some other guests they do great birthday parties. If you are visiting Gulfport with kids this is a must for you trip planning...and it's Free (but please be encouraged to leave a donation, it's worth it).
Really enjoyed this museum! There's so much to see and do! Our two year old granddaughter didn't want to leave! There are play areas for kids with Thomas trains to ride. It's free to get in , but donations are accepted. If you're in the area, it's a great place to visit - especially if you have kids or are an adult who loves trains and Lego's!
For the fact it is FREE you cannot beat it. Very fun, insightful and my 6 year old loves it. You can have birthday parties there and the volunteer staff was fantastic. Please remember to donate to keep this place going! This place was busy on the weekend. Adults and kids can ride a train and lots to do. Great for kids 10 and under.
Lots to see. My family had a great time
We visited for Thomas day and we had a wonderful time. I can't wait to go back on a slower day and ask them about the individual exhibits but my daughter was over the moon to ride the trains.
This is such a cool place for children to go. They have so many Lego trains, airplanes, and other toys. They also have actual small trains the kids can ride on. One even for parents to join in on.
This place is so much fun for the very young to the parents or grandparents
Really neat! My son enjoyed all the different displays
We had a great time looking at all the trains and the wonderful Christmas lights
Wasn't what I expected. Would be a great place to bring a child that likes trains. They can ride on them as well as see many models of tracks through towns and old trains.
A little dirty. However the trains and lego sets they have in there is crazy. Trains from the 30's and 40's til present. Cool place.
This is a great place for families. We had lots of fun. Will go back many times.
This place is amazing and a great place for families
What a great idea! Children love this place. Lots of fun, interactive areas.
This place was awesome. We got there about an hour til closing time. I wish we would got there earlier.
This was a wonderful place to bring the kids and just play. The staff was friendly, the rides were fun. Lots of activities inside and out. Would definitely go again!
Very impressive place ,
This is a great family friendly museum. It’s free for all ages. The staff and volunteers are nice and very compassionate.
My great grandsons age 5 &6 wanted to stay all day here. They have trains that will give them a ride, kids trains that is.
If you like model trains then this is the coolest place around. Tons of trains to look at!
Great for kids!
The kids love this place.
Very cool museum, my son and nephew loved it! If you like trains you'll enjoy this place!
It's a cute experience. Glad I went. Probably won't go back, tho. But it was fun?
Wonderful museum built with love and dedication by its volunteers. The children loved it and it brought out the inner-child in the adults in the group. This is a definite stop when visiting Gulfport.
Great place to visit there is more there then you think.
This is a great experience. A must see for free
I love this place. There's so much stuff here. You will have to make multiple trips to see it all.
My grandson LOVES TRAINS!!!!! He really enjoys going to the museum to seeing the trains and ridings on one. A plus!!
Awesome place! Great displays and a fun area for kids in the back! Free entry and donations are welcomed! Very friendly people who run the place. Highly recommend going with your kids! TONS OF LEGOS
Wow! No idea prior to visit how much this museum held. Sponsored and/or outfitted primarily by a local model railroad club, some of the members were around and helpful/informative. Cool place and great for all ages.
Pretty cool train models. not a great side of town.
This is a great place to take young kids and adults. They have 5 different areas to go through including several places for the kids to play. There are more trains of all sizes. Some of them the kids can ride. The staff there is very friendly and will tell you everything you want to know about trains.
Absolutely amazing! It was friendly and very informative. The children loved the activities and I was astonished by all of the creativity.
A must see place to go, I love the time that was put into the train and model assembly, a donation only place that's worth every penny
This was a really great place. Definitely worth the $5 donation. Lots of stuff for the kids to do and lots of hands on activities. Great Lego displays too!
This is a great place for little ones and for people who love model trains. The museum is run by volunteers and there is no entrance fee. The people are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed my time with my daughter here
This place has grown so much in the past two years! Plenty of things to keep little ones entertained! The outside area is great with ride on trains, picnic tables, and lots of different train set ups. We will definitely go back.
I drive by the place regularly and was so glad to see it! It was worth it! You have some LEGO displays - what hard work! The trains that you ride are perfect! I think the staff had as much fun as we did! We got the 94 year old on the train ride! It’s wonderful ! The staff members enjoyed talking about what’s going on!
My son loves trains & cars & he absolutely loved this place. We will definitely be coming here again.
This is a really neat place to bring the kids! Obviously, they have tons of model trains. They also have train tables and an outdoor area with a train the children can ride on. Admission is free though they do ask for a donation since they depend on donations to keep running. I wasn't sure my daughter would be interested at only 15 months but she loved watching the trains! It was interesting for adults also. It's truly fun for all ages!
Really cool little find. Was pleasantly surprised when we traveled over to Mississippi and found this place. Looking at the front was not expecting much but was I wrong. The models setup inside are very interesting to watch. So much detail it takes a bit to look at everything. Then you go outside; wow! Adorable little place to play and just have fun. Look forward to visiting again in the future.
It is a cute donation run place to take your train fanatics. I took my 2 year old and he had a ball lining trains up. If you go please help them out by making a generous donation.
Our toddlers favorite place to visit!! So much more to do and see than you realize, & all by donations!! I love this place & am very grateful for the amazing staff!!
I can't rave enough about the MSCMRM. We threw a party in the West Station. There were more than enough tables and chairs for 20+ people in a very nicely ac'd room. There are train tables in the room as well so the kids can play. Plenty of bathrooms all around, as well as play areas for the children both indoor and outdoors. The best part though was the staff! The most friendly, interactive, and caring folks! We had people checking on us the entire two hours, all the personnel we saw talked to us; they really made us feel so welcomed. All my guests were so astounded by this little gem. I can't wait to come back! The only cons are the parking lot is a bit on the small side, so be prepared to park all over the place; and it can get very hot in the MS summer, so remember to bring water to stay hydrated. Other than that, there's plenty to see and ooh and ahh over. And I definitely suggest riding the little train!
Excellent place for train lovers young and old to visit. Trains of every size and scale. From the miniature to the HO to a couple large enough for the kiddos to ride. Tons of Legos. Several of the displays have lists of things for the kids to find. Both of our grandsons had a great time. Nice variety of things for kids of all ages. Could easily make multiple visits without getting bored.
This place is awesome for the young or just the young at heart. My 2 year old loves his trains so we decided to take him a two weeks ago. We have been back about 4 times now. They have all kinds of model train, plus a few that you can ride. They also have more legos than most Lego Discovery centers. Its pretty awesome and it is free.
Had a great time last year with lights and trains
If you're into trains you're going too love this place. Something for everyone both young and old.
Friendly, interactive, and a little magical for everyone! It’s like stepping into Mr. Rogers’ world for a bit! I loved our train ride and tour, thank you, Mr. Richard Mueller- what a wonderful contribution to the Coast! And thanks, Katherine Sutton, for working so hard and making it a destination location to be proud of! Little small town museum dedicated to the enjoyment of all. Free admission!
This place is AMAZING! My grandson loves it!
We had so much fun here. We had our nieces w us (1st grade/3rd grade) and our toddler (17m) they all had the best time!!!!!
This place is great for young and old. Model trains and children's rides with a area to have parties for the kids. They even have a little tikes area. The staff is all first rate and volunteers. The museum is operated on donations. They have a gift shop. Vending machines. Our grand kids love it and so do we.
Amazing! Fun for kids and adults. They even set up a great ride at the Gulfport Christmas display.
The Museum was such a great experience for our toddlers (4 & 2)! They were mesmerized by the model trains and all of the small details included within their scenic displays, and they absolutely loved creating their own in the interactive “hands-on” play areas!
It's a great place to take children who have a love of trains. My two year old had a blast looking at them and riding one in the back yard. It's spread out through three buildings. They run on donations, and have a wee giftshop.
This place is legit. They add something new everytime I come and my kids L O V E it. They especially love riding the little train - neither are fans of the dark train tunnel but honestly the rest is so entertaining they quickly get over the tunnel scare.
Great activity with the littles!
Nice family place. Couple of small trains for kids to ride. One anyone can ride. Free admission but donations are accepted. A lot of model trains in different scales.
What a Jewell of a place for everyone! Of course my kids (6 & 7) loved the Lego scavenger hunt, and the outside galore of trains to see and ride on. There were plenty of hands on for the children to learn while having fun. Every person we talked with and that helped us were the nicest, sincere person. What a find in Gulfport!
My son loves trains and there were all sorts of things to keep his attention. The people there are great as well.
Free train museum which is mostly for children. Very small portion for history purposes and no regular size train's. There is a gift shop, several trains running on tracks, inside and out but plastic, Lego setups, kiddie size train ride outside with tables under cover, children's parties are available. This is not for the serious train enthusiast, but okay for families and to avoid the heat of the day.
This was a fun stop on our vacation to Gulfport. So much to see and do. They have trains in all sizes and operated by the visitors (via timers) even two that my son could ride on. The volunteers were really nice, one took the time to show us and explain the difference in the model train sizes. I can't believe that this is free to visit! Donations are excepted and I was happy to do so.
Lots of trains of all scales for kids to enjoy. Even have two you can ride on. For serious model railroaders, this is not the place for you. Many of the layouts are not very sophisticated or realistic.
Wasn't expecting much, but were we surprised! Ages 5 to there 40's loved it. Will definitely go back, make sure to donate as it doesn't cost to get in. Worth the visit
Very much worth a visit.
This place is awesome! Its huge and its free. Tons of trains and one of the best places to see LEGO sets anywhere. Kids and adults alkie will enjoy a trip here.
My son loved the trains and displays. Legos were nostalgic for me. Friendly staff.
Great place to bring the family.
Friendly staff, clean, funded and operated by donations only. There is a lot to see, they even have some kids train rides out back too!
Simply AMAZING place to take younger children OR THOSE THAT ARE STILL YOUNG AT HEART! We knew the place was their and have driven past it frequently without even a second glance. We stopped in for their mr Clause event and it's AWESOME! You simply can't see it all in one visit. Everywhere you look you find another childhood memory. Amazing train collections and even more amazing LEGO collection. AND DID I MENTION THAT IT'S FREE COMPLETELY RAN OFF DONATIONS! SO PLEASE DONATE IT'S WORTH IT!
loved our time here
Great staff and exhibits for a free museum! Miniature ride on trains are a blast for the entire family.
Hidden gem on the coast for families, train enthusiast and everyone in between.
Very cool place to take children ages 2-10 and free.
A really fun and interesting experience. The visit is free with a requested donation jar at the end. Many, many train exhibits, as well as Lego displays. Lots of fun, interactive displays for kids, but enjoyable for adults, as well. It was definitely worth our time. I would highly recommend this experience.
We had our 4 yr olds party here. Its was a great success. We had around 40 people show up and everyone had a great time. Lots of fun for the kids riding electric trains amd also pedal powered trains. The staff was as helpful as could be and they were great with the kids, which was probably close to 75 to 100 kids there. The temp was around 98 outside but there was lots of shade and places to sit outside to watch the kids having a great experience. You can also see all the outside activities from inside the white station which more importantly had very cold A/C!! I did not hear any negative comments or really was a great place. Scott had a great time and is ready to go back. Thank you to the employees that made this a great experience for the kids and adults. Joey McCormick
Great spot for kids. My son LOVES this place!
We stumbled upon this neat museum that we didn't know existed. Lots of model trains to see. Pretty Christmas decorations and events for little ones, during the holidays.
Interesting place. Great history and super nice people...
A lot of neat stuff to see.
This is the place to take your kids who are into Legos! Truly amazing and all kinds of structures, train tracks, rockets, spaceships. If you can think it then you will find it heré. If making a visit to Biloxi then try to make a visit here!
There's seriously a lot of trains at this place. We had a great time. Our kids loved the rides.
Excellent place for the family. The staff was kind, the facility was well taken care of, and it is a place where kids can actually touch and interact with many of the activities.
My daughter loves this place, we come here everytime we're in town.
Great for the kids! Awesome displays!
My grandson loved this place and I did too.
Went here to appease my dad. had more fun than I expected. the lego stuff was nice
Super cute place to go if you love trains. My boys really enjoyed it. We took our time looking at all the set ups and still kept seeing new things.
Nice hole in the wall
This place is a little unknown gem that should get so much more attention than it does. To only be ran on patron donations, this museum does so much more than many that charge an admission. It is family friendly and there is something for all ages. No one will feel left out. And even if you don't like trains, check it out ... I think you'll enjoy your visit.
All types and years of trains so much fun
It's free admission ran off of donations so you can pay whatever you feel is affordable for you two buildings interactive ride on train in between the two buildings in the back amazing place will definitely go again
The staff and volunteers are welcoming. The collection of toy and model trains is amazing. Made me feel like a kid again.
This place is great. Took our grandson. It was free! (Donations desired) Lots of Legos!
Awesome place for the kiddos, and they always seem to be expanding so return visits are still interesting for the kids and grown ups.
What a treat!!! I had no idea that this jewel existed here on the Coast. What child doesn't love watching trains of all kinds. PLUS... there's a train to ride, as well. It's a perfect place for a birthday party, too.
The children enjoyed this visit looking at all of that old models they were simply amazed watching the trains run recommend taking your children see this beautiful exhibit
Free to the public but donations are appreciated.
It's a hidden Jewel
The exhibition was very nice. A huge Lego display along with Christmas lights display outside. Santa was even there to have your picture taken with.
Very educational and a great place to take the kids
My son and I really enjoyed it.
Great place for children and adults. The whole family had a wonderful time!
Free of charge, great model train displays , mini trains kids and adults can ride and drive. Great place to have a Birthday party for kids for a small fee. My grandkids love this place and want y to go back again and again.
Such a fun place! They have indoor rooms with train tables and outside they have train tracks with trains running all over with different displays. They also have 3 train rides, picnic tables, and rooms for parties.
This place is AMAZING. So much more than what I thought it would be. There is so much to see. All the set ups have so much detail and there is something for everyone's interest. The staff was so friendly we got a great warm welcome when we walked in. There are lego sets and other items you can purchase in there shop. Two ride on trains, and one paddle train you paddle yourself with your hands. The kids did all the trains more than once! This place is nothing short of excellent.
Pros it is free, they take donations It is something to do for the little ones Lots of variety Big place They have picnic and party areas Cons It's free so it is very busy lots of children running around and the walk areas are very narrow, due to the displays. It gets crowded. Parking can be a bit tricky. This wasn't built to be a museum, it is a few old business locations that are consolidated into it. Its like a hobby that got out of control. Interesting to see though and the children did seem to have a good time.
I thoroughly enjoyed this museum. It has grown since the last time I saw it. The staff, who I was told are volunteers were friendly and informed. I really enjoyed talking to Pat about the displays and the history of the museum. I would recommend a trip to the museum as something to see on the Gulf Coast.
Such a fun place! And free! They take donations. Loads of Legos and trains. Even trains to ride on. The staff was very friendly and ready to answer questions.
So happy we found this wonderful place on our visit to Gulfport! My little train lover was so happy with so much to see and do. Everyone is so kind and helpful. It's definitely worth a stop!
Had a great time with our kids. Staff went out of their way to make smiles on our kids' faces
This place is great for kids. All the staff is friendly and helpful.
It was just fun. There is a lot of love and care in this little museum. Some of it is just for little children but it was a walk back into our childhood. From the plastic Lego world to the old 50's metal trains
Great place for train and Lego fans of all ages
A wonderful place. I love all the trains
Great place for kids and adults
WOW one of a kind train museum, so glad I stopped by. Many trains running in three buildings and very nice outdoors trains.
If you love trains, you'll love this awesome museum!!!
This place is awesome. It's free but they do accept tips. It has 2 big buildings full of model trains even has a few outside. The wife and I spent a good hour here and it is also kid friendly.
Fabulous place to bring the kids if they love trains. They have numerous set ups with Legos and other sceneries. They have a train that the kids can ride on and other activities. My three year old loves this place and doesn't usually want to leave when it's time to go.
This place was amazing! It’s unfortunate that we didn’t make it to the museum until the end of the last day of our stay. I wasn’t sure our 2 year old would be into it or not, I thought he’d be a little too young, but he could have spent so much more time there than we did. He was so excited to see Thomas, Percy, and Mike. Staff was outstanding as well. We’ll definitely make this stop a top priority for our next visit.
Great place to visit. Things for all ages!
Awesome people awesome place! We very much enjoyed our time there. We will be back on Spring break!!
This place is tons of fun for all ages.
Visited it on our 51st anniversary getaway. Lots of trains of different sizes. A good visit down memory lane.
Real good place. My kids loved it
A really fun place for model train enthusiasts and activities for kids. Surprisingly large displays of various scales of model trains in running configurations with scale scenery. Free to enter but donations to support their work are welcome.
Great place with tons of trains and Legos
I take my Granddaughter there ever time she comes in for a visit she loves it. The Christmas Display it always nice to see also.
Great experience! Loved the LEGO display! Free family fun for all.
Very beautiful displays. Just didn't have much elbow room. Kids loved the paddle cars and touring train. Amazing craftsmanship on the running train displays. Great job and very festive. The best part was the giant connect four game and extreme jenga the kids could play while waiting in line to ride the attractions. Great place to take the kids and grandkids to have fun for free!
I loved all rhe trains and Lego sets. The Christmas lights were beautiful. It started raining while waiting for the train ride so we didn't get to enjoy a ride. We will have to go back.
Awesome place to go. A lot to look at, a lot to learn a a whole lot of history
Thomas and Trains Family Fun Day was awesome! And the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum is a great place to go with the family on any day. It’s free admission they ask for you to leave a donation, I dare you to visit and not. The volunteers and staff that run this place are top notch. It’s an experience to take in and if you have little ones that love trains they’ll be in tears when it’s time to go. A must see place!
A wowser. Loved it
Awesome spot to bring little kids! Leave a donation!
Kids love it. Free!
Lots of model trains, and Lego trains and sets. There is also a little train you can ride and an activity area for kids. My 2 year old loves trains and she had a blast here. It is free, but does run on donations which help them keep running and adding to the model train sets.
Great place to take the family. The setups are awesome. The ride on train is fun. The Lego displays are amazing! Highly recommend!
This museum is amazing. I never saw so many train displays. They made trains, bridges, even "The White House " and Walmart out of legos and had the model trains passing by. The workers are all volunteers and very friendly. They run the museum on donations only. There's even a place for children birthday parties and a train ride for visitors of all ages.
Lots of cool trains bathrooms in every building all kinds of cool stuff for the kids they had a ride you went around on the train add bunch of trains that you can control the speed of all in all was a very nice place to visit it stays open on your donations the kids had a great time there
A fantastic family outing if you like Lego and model trains. their Lego display was outstanding! By far the largest collection I've ever seen. They had all sorts of model railroads in varying scales. Really enjoyed the setup outback that was large enough to ride! Will definitely be returning. Interesting to note they are a largely volunteer-based organization and relies solely on donations.
Always Fun !! And Free ! They accept Donations and have a Gift Shop .
This amazing museum and grounds are not to be missed!! We came to see the Christmas lights, which were spectacular! I thought we'd spend about an hour. I had no idea how large the museum is, and how many intricate, fascinating exhibits are there. We spent almost 3 hours, and I can't wait to go back, and go through it in more detail. They have a large room created specifically for children's parties. They have every size of model, from rail cars that are smaller than my little finger (complete with equally tiny environments & people), to one large enough to give rides around the museum grounds. They have several rooms, an outdoor area that covers the better half of a block, and a gift shop. The staff/volunteers are welcoming. It's a wonderful experience!
This is such a fun place to visit!
Fantastic displays!
The kids enjoyed it extremely
Lots of train running. It's awesome. Rides for kids and adults. Free!. They do take donations. Anything free gets five stars from me.
Only been here once. Super interesting and fun to explore all the massive train setups they have. Certainly would love to come back. All the staff were great as well.
