Facility is not well maintained, we went there with high expectations but were disappointed, even the projector was not working

Hugo Hackenbush

Free. Plan on 1 hour. Plenty of parking, lots of explanatory signs outside on the grounds, welcome center has quite a few displays.

Jessica McPherson

Enjoyed our visit here. Nice selection of baskets for purchasing. We were able to walk our dogs as we explored the small site. Definitely make an effort to visit Poverty Point. Another terrific Mound site that was named a World Heritage Site in 2014. Historically on par with Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, also a WH site along with Yellowstone and Glacial National Parks.

We went for a ride and ended up here, what a pleasant day.

Hidden beyond the suburbs of Natchez this "ancient" site of Native Americans features three mounds and a visiting/information center. The movie featured feels a bit outdated but is still very informative. The visitor center is the first one I came across that has actual scientific publications of the archeological investigations on two of the three mounds and the surrounding area. I was really disappointed that the history of these Native Americans is overshadowed by the town of Natchez too satisfied with their antebellum houses and slave history. Be sure to also visit the historic mound 10 miles down the Natchez Trace Parkway.

It had been raining when we showed up so there wasn't really anything to see. There's no sidewalk or anything to lead you to where the sights are. Suggested that you go when it's good weather.

Being a member of VFW Post 9573 I helped work the gate for the Pow Wow. This is a great event. Thanks to all who work so hard to make this an annual occasion. A wonderful cultural experience.

Jordan Kimmel

Guys, thanks so much for the wonderful service! My son still has the brochure and reads (he can't really read yet, so he just kind of makes up stories) from it everyday. Beautiful site and one of the rare ones you can still interact with.

Kabi Boothe

Came for the "Music at the Mounds" event on 10/28. The grounds are beautiful for an outdoorconcert and the weather was perfect.

Nice indoor display with Indian artifacts and the tragic history of the Natchez native americans. Outdoors it's unimpressive if one has been to Emerald Mound.

Mary Kate

If you actually want to walk around all of the mounds, a little warning: you'd be doing a lot of walking. I didn't do that. I just stayed behind near the tent. It was really breezy, and kinda nice.

Musée intéressant, mais il ne reste plus rien du Grand Village si ce n'est des panneaux explicatifs disséminés à travers un espace vert. Place à notre imagination pour visualiser...

Lots of history. Informative video with a small touch table for the children. The walk to see the mounds is short and easy. unfortunately the Indian dwelling was down for renovation and the nature trail attached had no information on it, so we decided not to try in out. Free and informative.

Very Interesting history of ancient Indians in the Mississippi Valley. Has mounds and stuff but not much else.

Joe Adams

Lisa Cantrell

The visitor center portion of this park was far more interesting to me than the mounds but I'll readily admit that we visit these sites because my husband likes to. The information in the VC is excellent and the woman staffing it when we were there was wonderfully friendly and helpful. But, if you enjoy archeology and can imagine the site itself will probably be more thrilling. To be sure walking around what are sacred places to the Natchez is moving and thinking what it would be like if they had not been driven out is through provoking but the replica house for the Natchez had not been rebuilt when we were there so you simply walk from mound and to mound and read the signage.

Bonnie Hardin

Great place to visit nice atmosphere and beautiful Museum and land

A Greta little museum with info on the Natchez people a touch exhibit and a short film along with a nature trail and displays at the mounds make this a great stop for anyone interested in local history

Mary Vasquez

Very nice employee very informative and helpful nice place to bring the family

Epling Epling

This is a great place to bring families. The museum is small but informative and had a couple hands on displays, a gift shop, and restrooms. The grounds are well kept with signs explaining the history of the area and the mounds. There is a warning sign about venomous snakes. Very peaceful here.

Ruud Smets

Interesting 'village'. You get a nice, and quick view of the native Indians who once lived there. You can see a short film, and take a small walk on the domain. And it's free! Certain worth the stop.

Robyn Latham

Beautiful history and culture. Peaceful.
