Nice experience for people who have not seen an assembly line

Tobias Köther

The tour was amazing! You could experience the history of Ford with all your senses. You could see the complete production of a Ford F150. You have to do the tour when you are in Dearborn.

Jaimin Patel

Great tour Must if visiting Detroit michigan

Tom Peppers

Fun place. Interesting historical vehicles. And machinery.

Debra Hayes

Very interesting to see the assembly line. Would have liked to see the stamping and painting though.

La'Krisha Hill

Went for my son's field trip, nice place

S North

Andrew Kelly

A great American car company making a great vehicle!

Presh Sadhale

One if the best tours we have.

James Thompson

Loved the tour. Would have been nice to spend more time here. Will have to come back.

Norma Maraschin

Absolutely amazing place! From art to math to furniture to culture, it has much more than just automobiles. Can easily spend hours there.

Sayan Banerjee

This place offers a wonderful experience to see the manufacturing of the ford pickup van F150 as some piece of steel transform into a absolute piece of engineering. The two video about the history of ford motors and the innovation of F150 are also crafted and present beautifully. Don’t miss it if you are visiting nearby. It could have been more enjoyable if they would allow to photograph and preserve some memories of the visit .

Nicolas Mathian

Visit divided in several steps, the 1st 2 steps are not so interesting and the 2nd is just a huge commercial for the F150. The factory visit itself is nice and you actually see a lot of interesting stuff on the assembly line.

steve guy

There is so much to see. I really enjoyed the tour.

Austin Barker

Very cool and exciting! So much to see and do. The food places are incredible and unique. Worth the price and time. Collect all the wax mini figures! Don't be afraid to explore and go through the trains. It's a learning experience for all ages.

Philip Schilke

Well worth it if you have never seen an assembly plant

Derrick Borup

Excellent Tour showing the new Ford F-150 being assembled and learning about the history of Ford Motor Company.

Donald Burts

It's an interesting tour of a working auto facility. You can watch an F 150 being full assemblied . See the parts that go into the truck and get an idea of the reason for the cost of your vehicle.

matt dreps

This tour is awesome, if you're into this sort of thing.

Ron Norton

Love the experience for the students again my son was amazed at the way the F150 was built, the theater truck movie exhibit was awesome!

Lloyd Dooley

The tour begins with a bus ride from the visitor center at The Henry Ford then after arriving at the plant, continues with two videos. The first offers a historical perspective of Ford and the Rouge facility, and the second is a cool laser/sound show featuring the F150. After the videos you go to an observation area on the roof where you can see the entire complex, stamping plant, paint facilities, the living roof on the assembly plant and even the Ford World Headquarters in the distance. This is not a full plant tour, you don't see any chassis assembly or body build up, but it overlooks part of the trim area and is an accurate representation of what the assembly process is like.

Brandon Morris

Loved the truck plant that was an experience I couldn't get anywhere else!

V K

Good place. Although you are not allowed to see the assembly line and children don't like it. There are a couple of small duration shows in their theater which they show before the tour, which are actually good.

Joyce Hines

Amazing technology in action !

Linda Minderman

Was great! We took our time going through and totally enjoyed seeing how a Ford F250 is made. Very interesting...

Anne Stark

There's a Disney-esque series of films at the beginning of the tour, but for us the real attraction was walking around the balcony of the F150 truck manufacturing floor. We took almost 2 hours at our own pace, fascinated at the different jobs, the skill of the workers and the scale of the machines. Absolutely too cool!

Tennyson Varghese

Experience the real assembly of iconic F150

Milos Jarcov

Interesting and lots to see! Worth it.

David Rash

Ford is ahead of the crowd in innovation and technology. I love the Ford products and my Mustang and my flat head V-8's.. Thanks, RD

Gregory Davis

Interesting tour of Ford F150 final assembly. Rickety bus to tour, not able to touch and interact with any built F150s. Overpriced photos. Poor quality overpriced gift shop items. Ford could make this great by using a quality Ford coach for the bus ride from the Henry Ford museum, instead the bus ride is not comfortable. Ford could build brand loyalty by showing off their fine work by letting potential customers touch the Ford trucks. Ford could have reasonably priced souvenirs, such as T-shirts that were inexpensive and high-quality. Ford does none of this.

Troy Dieter

Excellent tour and well worth the time and money! Ford did an amazing job putting together the tour and demonstrating the history of the company.

Kim Michels

Great educational experience for kids on field trips & adults. Amazing Ford F-150 presentation. Ride up to the top and learn about the factory grounds. They grow gardens on the roof tops. Tour the assembly line and see how cars are put together. Bravo to those working the line! They do the same repetitive move all day long.

Travis Sears

The might of American manufacturing power on full display. Loved it!

Matthew Wyatt

Awsome cool 100 stars

Daniel Wegrzen

Great experience, kinda weird watching people work from above (as long as they don't mind) but it was still awesome to watch the process. All the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Wish we could have been allowed to take pictures/video but I understand that the process has some manufacturing information they don't want to share with everyone. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to see an excellent example of Ford's most important contribution to all industry.

Kash Kamath

Innovation which helped humanity

Michael Sarver

Awesome the new technology and environment concerns. Must see. A new Ford truck produced every 57 seconds.

Michelle McConnaughhay

Family fun! We enjoyed watching all the action in the plant.

Kristopher Prevost

This is the second time I've been to the factory tour the first time it was closed because of a holiday you definitely need to go while it's open it's not the same experience it's a lot of fun especially with the kids to see the workers doing their jobs I personally am too much of an extrovert to enjoy a job like that but it was still exciting to see them putting together the Ford F-150 I recommend this tour to all ages it's safe and fun and really makes a good day out on the town apparently you can save a little bit of money by driving directly to the factory versus taking the bus from Greenfield Village

Jason Strickland

Wonderful History and exceptional exhibit pieces with a wide coverage of our history.

Randy Hardee

Awesome for anyone wanting to know how a F150 is built.

Barry Vlad

This plant was stroke of genius in early 20th century.

Sahil Chandratre

Employees were very helpful

Lohit Anupindi

To me this is the best part of Henry Ford Museum experience, the initial show of the assembly process was great too.

Tree B

Memories of the past. Excellent!

Victor Mituta

Ford is proud of the F-150 pickup truck and Rouge plan tour shows that

Jean Ralston

Excellent tour. Highly recommend it as part of museum/village experience.

Michael James

Loved watching F150's being built

Richard Ferris

This was a fun tour to see how a small part of the Ford F-150 assembly line works. You get to see the trucks coming down the assembly line Headliners door Doors door parts and Interiors all assembled as the trucks a various designs and models come down the assembly line. Seeing that the workers have smart tools that know if they've done the job right or not was interesting the pace for the workers seem very moderate and almost anybody would be able to do the work without breaking a sweat. It was interesting that Ford showed us the one part of their operation that was still very manual and Labor Ready and showed us none of the more automated portions that would have been extremely interesting to see. The weakness of the tour did you get to see maybe 2% of the wonderful amazing Ford Rouge Plant. I would love for them to be tours even if they cost money to see more of the plant and more of the workings!. Truly a piece of American history that will never be duplicated or done again the Rouge Plant represented a beginning to end Concept in manufacturing all in one place. If you like cars machines and Machinery this is a must. We went there for the Henry Ford Museum and the only thing wrong was it was too short a tour.

Robert Wells

It was Great we will have a great time when we go back.

Chris Rain Man

I would highly recommend this for anyone is looking for something to do in Dearborn Michigan / Greenfield Village

Sooner

The videos were good. If you dont like loud and strobe lights, then you will have a difficult time with 2nd video. Well set up and easy walking. Would be easy to access with wheel chair. Most sections you are not permitted to use camera, video, or cell phones.

Flame Cole

We didn't do the tour, but we went to the village for the antique auto show. We had a great time. All the employees were friendly and very knowledgeable. Definitely plan on going back a lot more often.

David Diatikar

Helpful knowledgeable people - great way to see state of the art assembly operations

Abel Sullivan

Great museum! Cool cars, interesting movies, neat little diner, and a big gift shop

Javier Jay

They have amazing cars

Earl David

cant use a cell phone while on tour....

McLain Racing

Awesome visit. Clean and amazing exhibits!

Randy Feltis

Was not in production when we got there. But it was very interesting to see.

Fredy Flores

awsome tour , i came all the way from Boston to detorit just to see the tour, i wich i could see more robots soldering and lifting big auto parts , but overall amazing , THANK YOU , GRACIAS

VJ

This is the only assembly plant tour I've been to. So i can't compare it but as a one time experience it is fantastic. The films before before the actual factory floor tour are great. You don't get to see the full assembly like engine and chassis. But you can see assembly of parts like doors, dash, windshield and few others. Overall for a first one time visit, it's pretty good.

John Kutasz

No photos allowed in the factory, so all my pictures are cars in the lobby and views from the observation deck. The first 2 parts of the 4 part tour are a movie and multimedia presentation, designed for school age kids, but they are brief, so even if you don't find them riveting, you'll be on to the good stuff shortly. Part 3 is an enclosed observation area on the roof, where you can see a metal fabrication plant in the distance, then a stamping and cutting plant, followed by a paint facility, and finally the assembly plant. The highlight is part 4 - a catwalk that extends around the perimeter of the actual plant, letting you watch fully customized builds take place as pickup truck cabs, doors, and beds all make their way through the process. The best part, in my opinion, was having friendly, knowledgeable Ford employees stationed along the catwalk, able to both describe what was happening at individual stations, and answer questions. The amount of organization for having the right parts flagged for the specific vehicle appearing at a station is staggering. The combination of descriptions of what was happening and getting questions answered as we watched the work being done made for an absolutely compelling tour.

j hillix

Absolutely must see if in the area.

Khrystyna Prokhorenko

Informative but costly experience. Happened to be there on Easter weekend, and the tour guide did not let us know upfront, that workers would have shortened hours, so we did not get to see assembly in action, which was very dissapointing! The tour leaves from the Ford museum and lasts about 2 hours, where you would have to spend up to an hour in the tour bus that gets you from the museum to the plant and back to the museum. Not allowed to take pictures of the assembly line! The tour includes a short documentary, then a short stop at the lookout on rooflevel of the plant( Green roof), assembly line and a small museum on plant premises.

Marium Wilkie

Amazing! I wish they would have been more detailed at what u where about to see on the assembly line..mire garbage less drama..great though! Enjoyed it!

Chris Cordes

Very good tour. Enjoyed it a lot. You have to buy your tickets at the Henry Ford Museum and take the bus over. The second film was very loud which actually distracted from the information given. I would highly recommend it though if you are in the area. It was a great way to see how things are made and done with Ford!

Barbara Loftis

It was quite interesting to see the assembly line for trucks, especially since we own an F150. There was also an observation deck to see the entire Ford property with all the buildings that support the assembly. There are guides available to answer questions, and transportation included in admission back to the museum. You can't take pictures of the assembly.

Nathan Oppie

Good tour and worth the price. Bus ride take a bit of time but the staff was friendly and happy to answer questions. You watch two videos in two different rooms before the actual tour. The first video is hard to watch because there are three screens and you don't want to miss anything. They all show the same thing just in a different order. The second one is pretty cool, they simulate a truck being built in front of you. You can take all the time you want in the factory which is really nice. The gift shop is reasonably priced and has some worthwhile memorabilia. A must see if you're in the area.

George Wiebe

It's like a six out of five star tour loved it

Jessica Fernandez

Loved the 2 theater presentations, the living roof, and the assembly room floor. It was amazing to see how the F-150nis put together piece by piece

Scott Magruder

Great history lesson about Henry Ford and his innovation that helped build America. Seeing the F150 being built was amazing. Just wish you could take pictures of the trucks being built. It's a modern marvel.

Bradley Mccord

Mind blowing experience....If you are a Ford enthusiast and a F150 owner, this place is Amazing

Mrs. Creach

If you like history this is the place to go lots of cool old types of stuff to look at.

Jennifer Dueweke

Great tour! Would have been 5 stars if we had come on a day when the assembly line was running

Annie Nielson

I loved watching them assemble F-150s! This was well worth the 18 bucks.

Matt F

It's cool seeing how Ford vehicles are made, but the whole tour felt like one long Ford commercial.

Celi O

Mmm

Joshua Chang

A mind-blowing view of the huge scale production of the Ford F150. Incredibly well done. Interesting first video and awesome second one (although a bit too loud). Really changed my whole perspective on what an assembly line is. Must see for anyone of any age.

Bob Sisco

Great factory tour.

mystic Star

Awesome view of the actual assembly line and Ford factory

Virginia Schulz

Just alot of fun for the kids and grown-up too

J Liske

Neat to see how the 150 is put together

Linda Miller

This is a great tour, you are basically on your own, we brought our daughter, son-in-law and grandson.

Vicki Johnson

What an incredible experience! This plant is where my truck was manufacturered just a month ago! Such a neat place to visit and see some of the work put into these machines!

Rodney Lover

Been on this tour 3 times. Really enjoy bringing family including senior Dad and teens. Theatre presentations before worth the ticket. Amazing to watch these top notch vehicles being put together by humans and robots.

Samantha H

As an adult, this was one of the coolest things I've ever visited. The whole tour takes a couple hours and it's so worth it. Seeing the detailed work line, the precision, the parts, all fascinating. Highly recommend this stop if you have a few hours free in Detroit.

kim rozendaal

Fun tour, got to see the F150s being made

Patricia Hoover

Interesting tour. Very recommended.

Mathew C

I love Ford my friend works there he is black his name is ishaia if you see him

Juddie Hinton

Shuttle service, and tour of the factory was more than what I expected. I finally go a look inside of an iconic American car factory.

Con Bac

Has so much inside. Spectacular place to visit. Friendly workers

Abdallah EL Azanki

This an amazing tour done at Ford, here you will attend 3 halls during each you will discover something about the company from history till modern state. At hall2 you will love the 3D show for the truck F150. Me and my brother attended the tour with an electric Engineer (Ali Yassin) who recommended it, and we never regret it. After the 3 videos in each hall you will be allowed to go around the factory while the trucks being assembled (for our bad luck we went at a holiday, so we went inside but no trucks on assembly tracks ) You can take professional photo at the end of your tour and you can buy gifts while exiting. Parking is available, photos and mobile use is not allowed always (they will strictly inform when you are not allowed to do)

Jeffery Weaver

Great tour friendly tour guide

Deborah Evans

View historical films from the early days of car manufacturing and union organizing. Tour the Ford Rouge plant near the Detroit River and see how the F-150 pick up truck is manufactured. Docents in the plant explain the process and answer questions. Take a tour bus from the main campus of Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation to the Ford Rouge plant. While there, enjoy a holographic light show and visit the gift/souvenir shop. Appropriate for families and visitors of all ages. Admission to the Ford Rouge plant tour requires a ticket purchase. The narrated tour bus ride to the plant is included with your ticket purchase. Allow two to three hours for this excellent tour experience.

Donna Warrick

Very small bounce houses. After about 25 minutes the 7 year olds were a little bored. The 10 and 11 year olds were done in a few minutes. It was too small for them. The arcade games are all free. That was the best part. Very limited food and beverages and completely sky high prices.

Ordertrash Nakame

A really cool high tech Show! The combo with the Museum ist enough to kill a day.

sachin shirguppe

Great feeling to be at the Mother plant of moving line assembly

Nina Cutler

Clean friendly homey

James Bonin

I really enjoyed this tour. There are two films shown at the beginning. The first provides a historical perspective which is slightly selective but very interesting. No mention of the fact that the river Rouge once caught fire in 1969 because of all the pollution generated from the site. The second film is basically a commercial for Ford and if you're pressed for time you could skip it. The assembly line is fascinating to watch.

Diane Stiles

What a great way to spend an afternoon. Not too busy. Helpful and informed tour guides. Don’t miss the organic roof!

cyraysd

Very interesting. Amazing to see the trucks being built on the assembly line

Laroy Burgess

Took the tour as part of a visit to The Henry Ford Museum. I am not able to understand how anyone can do a visit more than these 2 items in one day. There is so much to see and do at both locations. To be able to watch the production line and see the skilled workers putting these trucks together is simply amazing. I should have spent more time there but did not want to miss anything in the museum

saad ahmad

It was a childhood dream of mine to see cars being assembled...done! Great tour, great clips to view the history behind this great American company. Highly recommended!

liquidtrails

Very cool place to see real historical objects! Clean, friendly, and not too expensive... Perfect museum experience.

Anna Ertl

We had a wonderful time. It was great they had scooters so I could see a lot. Joe says we are coming back next year.

Ken Moss

Great tour and a show that you’ll never forget. Made me want to by a F-150 myself.

Nicholas b

It was a great experience. Ford has clearly put a lot of effort into this tour. However, we went during the wrong week and were not able to see actual production. It isn't really anyone's fault, but I would've liked to see it.

Pat Jackson

This is a must see! Much improved from the old tour!

Muunawer Soofi

Outstanding n knowledgeable.

Barbara Opdycke

GREAT, INTERESTING TOUR OF THE FORD PLANT WHERE WE SAW THE 2020 F150 TRUCKS BEING MADE. IT WAS FANTASTIC!

Mike Weinberg

Amazing coordination of thousands of components! Assembly takes 6 hours from start to finish, but once it gets going, a new truck rolls off the line every 53 seconds. And yet the workers are able to work at a relaxed pace. Fascinating!

Stephen Novak

My father and I went to this it was a great time. One of the most unique tours I've ever been on very fun.

Rob Smith

All I can say is it is really cool to see. Once inside of Rogue you get to watch a few documentaries to make you aware of the history of the plant. Once that is finished you are taken to an area that basically robots and a laser light show happen in front of you, it is indescribable to say what I saw. Needless to say, it was fascinating. After that is completed you are allowed to watch the complete assembly of an F150. To me, I had zero idea of how they were actually assembled, what went into it, and the people that are able to do that job. I give it to the actual factory workers and doing a job that I would never be able to do. Plenty of factory workers that I believe are retired that you can ask them about each station you see from the sky platform/catwalk. You even get to see the final inspection when they come off the assembly line. Eventually, you go to an up into a sky view of the plant. They have a Ford representative there that explains to you about the overview of the plant, the line in the parking lot. This was well worth the time to watch and see what they have to offer.

kristina harvey

Amazing to see the historical production line at work in today's world. The 2 movies were so interesting and well made. Totally recommend this tour, just do the whole pkg.

Gary Garner

Interesting tour. Well done.

Joel Feng

The experience was very cool and I loved the 2nd stop where they gave us the history of Henry Ford.

Luis Nava

No boday was working that day... So the expirience of Tour Factory, Never Felt the action of the Factory

Gary Fox

Leave at least 1 hr for self-paced part of tour, absolute minimum of 2 hours including introductory movies and bus transportation from the Museum to and from the Rouge tour. Would be nice if more narration or placards along the way describing what was happening on each line. No photography of the line itself allowed but photographs allowed in some other places.

John Dillbeck

Absolutely a tremendous tour. Industrialism at it's best

cali girl

I Love this place!! Wish I lived closer!!

Susan caddle

Awesome overview of assembly line final assembly.

Assembly lanes at the Ford Rouge factory tour and film showcasing Fords history.. Overall an absolutely stunning experience!

E Altoro

This was a really cool tour. I did not know what to expect. It was my first time touring an automotive factory line. But I am glad I did. The old cars in the main entrance are stunning.

Sanjay Singh

A motorcity must see. How cars/trucks are made, the sheer logistics of it all. Ford has done a fabulous job and opened part of their manufacturing line to the public. Definitely worth a visit for out of town guests; they'll leave with a new appreciation of Detroit!

Ken Glaza

They make making cars look easy. Wonderful experience. Next visit will include more time to marvel.

Carla Pearson

Interesting but need more explanation on tour

Arlene

A long overdue visit to the Ford Rouge Factory - educational and inspirational when contemplating such "innovations" of man. Very thankful for such technological innovations and the sharing of such history.

Margaret Berze

Wow! Great educationally! My son had a great time. We loved Star Trek exhibition. Museum is very tight and cleanliness.

Joshua Brittain

Best trucks in the world, best workers and tour this side of the Mississippi

Awad Alshehri

Great. However the museum is not only limited to ford history

Tony Gize

Loved it! Real cool to see how an assembly line works. It was well put together and took about 45 min in the plant and 25 min in the bus to and from plant.

carol ann Yenco

Very interesting place to see trucks being built. A great tour.

Chetan Krishnappa

The best collection

AnnA S

Great to see! Time wise it is up to you how long you want to spend on the tour. We stuck around for about 4-5 hours. It's quite interesting to see the car pieces go through assembly line and get put together right in front of you.

brad caruthers

Showing truck assembly is quite neat seeing all the steps and rejected parts in a big plie...

Jamal Turner

Nice tour. Awesome to see how card are manufactured

Carlo Chalhoub

Mark Charlebois

Very informative and interesting to see.

Megan Sonnenberg

I took my 3 year old and he LOVED it!! He loves cars and trucks so getting to see them made and put together was way cool for him!! Defiantly something we may come back to. Only down side is it isn’t super cheap.

lynda cummins

Very interesting. Could go thru again and learn more.

Dave C

No workers, plant shut down Bumpy bus ride
