You know that we do not usually stop to give opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum belongs to the category of Children\'s museum.
This place is always packed! I know of a similar place in Toledo and its much better, but that's just my opinion. This place has lots of science related experiments/demonstrations.
My 5 and 7 year had a great time! It kept us busy for many hours on a rainy day! I'm sure we will be back soon.
So much to do it was hard to keep track of the kids, they loved the fact that they could touch everything and everything was so Interactive
A fantastic children's museum for all ages! Made from a converted old fire station, I visited this place often as a child, and now I bring my own children to experience the fun and wonderment. Always something new and educational!
A charming little slice of childish scientific learning. Facilities are a little beat up from all the destructive kids, but the staff were quick and most out of order exhibits are usually replaced within 24 hours.
We have been members here for 3 years, and it never fails to keep us coming back. There a four floors, and each have a different theme. There is an area for smaller kids, and unlike most little kid areas, it is huge. There are a ton of things to do, including a smaller water play area, wooden play equipment to climb on, a ball propulsion climbing toy, a small slide, blocks, and many other things. Some of our favorites are the laser harp, the green board, an art installation that allows you to see your reflection in various colorful ways, and the platform you stand on where you pull a bubble over your entire body. The only set back to this place is that you need to bring your own snacks, but there is a little place you can sit down and eat. The bathrooms are usually pretty clean, and it is nursing friendly. They have a private nursing area, it is really nice, but you can nurse anywhere. They have an awesome gift shop, and a membership, will give you a worthy discount.
Very nice place to visit with the kids! They can have tons of fun and also learn interesting stuff Everything is very safe A few stations need some maintenance but the experience is good I would come again but wouldn’t make the year pass
This is an absolute must-visit destination if you have kids. You can literally spend hours here and not see the museum to its fullest. My kids love it here and it's so much fun watching them explore. Even though it's a great place to go, it never feels overly-crowded because it's very well laid out. It can be a pretty steep entry price, but buy the year pass because it's absolutely worth it.
My kids love this place. I haven't been in years so i was very surprised when we went the other day at how much there is to do. The water room is excellent, but make sure you bring a shirt to change into. Entrance fee isn't too bad at 12.50 a person, but we decided to get the family pass. $80 and it covers 2 adults, all kids AND grandparents. You also get discounts at the A2 Natural History Museum, Cranbrook Museum and many others. The only downside, there is ZERO parking. My mother is handicapped so I pulled into a spot reserved for The Michigan Guild just so I could get her and the kids inside, and then planned on parking in the structure a block and a half away, and before I could even get out of my car some guy in a business suit started screaming at my mom trying to get out that she couldn't park there. She wasn't even the one driving, I was. Just be prepared to hike it if you go.
Best museum ive ever been to my kids loved it even my 2 month old had fun in the baby area
The kids had a blast. It was well worth it.
This museum is so much fun. The kids had a great time experiencing all the different exhibits, especially the water exhibit. If you have taken your kids here yet, you need to!
It's good for a couple of hours entertainment but I think they need to update some of the displays/experiments.
Awesome!! I enjoy it with my daughter and wife
This is a great place to take children and get them interested in science. The toddler play area (for kids under 4) is especially nice. The kids love it and you get a controlled environment to let the little ones burn off some energy.
Very nice place. Full of toys and various devices for kids of all ages.
One can spend a whole day mesmerized by the talents and innovations.
Pretty fun time for our 4 year old. I would recommend this place.
Really great experience! We took our 18 month old son and he had a great time. He couldn't enjoy all areas, however the floor dedicated to his age group was perfect. My only feedback is to clean the nursing room, it smelled so awful that I had to leave immediately and go nurse my daughter elsewhere.
Great museum that very few people know about. Don't forget to stop at The Dairy Store for a great treat!
Kids had a brilliant time. Loads to do and touch without getting told off!
Great place for kids to learn and enjoy some unique games
Really fun place for kids of a variety of ages, lots of great water tables, engaging educational material, climbing wall, a local michigan section and more!
Great place for all ages. We went for a school field trip and will be going back again with the rest of the kids!
Just as fun today as it was 20 years ago
The admissions fee for adults is kind of high, and they need more exhibits, but it’s cool.
Aside from the broken vending machines, this place was terrific! I wish they had a cafe, it would make the experience more enjoyable. We ate before we visited but playing and walking up and down stairs for 3 hours really wears children. The vending machine for the beverage was out of order and I couldn't get fruit snacks from the snack one either. We will be back but will pack our lunches next time.
It is great! Clean, plenty of stuff to do for all ages and affordable as well! Would 10/10 recommend for school groups, tourists with kids or locals.
Took my daughter for her 4rh birthday she had a blast!!
For small children, and even then it's crowded. Plus, many a time the youngest ran over. Some broken exhibits, and a lot of adults who never seemed willing to give small kids a turn in line. It's good for a few hours to kill if you're sick of places like Chuck E. Cheese.
Love It! It is a lot of fun and very knowledgeable.
Best suited for younger children - my third grader enjoyed the experience but had probably "aged out".
I got the year round membership and it was soo worth it! We were able to take grandparents and 2 additional friends for free all year round. Our membership expires at the end of this October and I would say we've been here almost 8 times through out the year. My almost 3 year old truly enjoys and always wants to go back. Definitely recommend
Great place to take young children. Mine is only 2yo and had a good time playing with everything
I usually am a fan as I come here a lot with the child I nanny. However, I am upset as the last few times I have come, there are ENORMOUS groups of children from school-which that’s great but they should either rent it out to schools or have a smaller capacity limit. I was here for 20min before I had to leave because my child was being pushed around too much and couldn’t do any attraction. Very frustrated. Very over run. Not happy today.
A lot of the displays were not working. The parking lot had two enormous pot holes that can take out tires. All while costing $50, so not really inexpensive.
Great place to go with a toddler when we're in town...
Over all good place for kiddos, burn out after 3-4 hours tops, a little pricey (50$ for 4 people) but you are able to leave (get lunch) and come back in the same day which did help. Love all the learning and how much learning is going on even with out them knowing. It would be nice if there were more people around to help guide/answer questions or even "present" some of the exhibits.
Super fun! Makes me feel like a kid again.
I took my great nieces ages 4 and 5 along with there Mom. We parked around the corner at a public yet meter pay lot, and ate at Zingerman's a block away. Good food yet pricey. Then walked up and over a block to the museum. The kids REALLY, REALLY had a OUTSTANDING TIME. It was an AWESOME DAY.
Everything is great and fun here my only complaint is that thery need a much bigger eating stop, tables, chairs, and more then 2 high chairs there 6 tables 2 nice size tables and 3 very small round tables in a very small room and a longer table and 2 high chairs and people are turning away because there no where to eat lunch and there people who waiting for a table and chairs and high chairs to eat lunch. But on top of that very fun place
It's a nice kids museum but I expected more for the price. There's four floors but the top two floors are very small. The water works area was awesome and there's a few other areas to keep their attention but my kids are 10 and 5 and both lost interest and were ready to go after 2 hours. Parking is also a bit tricky but that's expected in AA.
Hands-On Museum means exactly what you would think it does. This place is incredible! My kids love coming here to play and learn. This really is a fun place for the whole family. It makes learning a full on experience!
My kid loves it. But I think it's over priced for some really old outdated things that don't work. And it's not very clean @ all.
So much fun with the kids!!! High energy, so don't be a lazy butt and come expecting an easy day in a seat. This place is all about playing with your hands, senses, and imagination. So rewarding to see kids not only have fun but learn as they go. Recently expanded. Parking is a bit tough, but that's Ann Arbor. Worth the price! Plus a cool little gift shop at the entrance with lots of really cool stuff.
Fun place - wish they had more options for kids under 2 and more spaces for new moms. They have one mother's room which usually has a line waiting to get in, and otherwise not a lot of alternative options for nursing.
Great Place for children to learn and play. Always a good time. Large preschool area for young ones to play without the worry of the big kids. Multiple levels with different themes and something to do. My son would spend a whole day here if he could. Large water table with different activities. Parking is a no go here. They do have about 4 spots, but you need to find street parking or make use one of the near by parkades.
This is a great place for kids to be hands on with stuff they cant get at home. Every visit their mind/imagination gets wider, open, bigger. Don't miss hands on time with critters.
The water play area is my 3 year olds sons favorite activity. They have plenty of activities for all ages. Would need a good three to four hours to appreciate it all. A full size ambulance that you can go in and out is another one of my sons favorite to dos. The season pass is a steal if you live close by, even if you don’t the reciprocity makes it well worth the price!
The children had a blast. There was so much stuff for kids of all ages. If you go make sure you have plenty of time to get to all the different stuff. There is a lot of educational fun for them. They can also explore there creative side. They get their energy out in a positive way and have loads of fun while doing it. I also like how there are benches to sit at if you just want to sit back and watch them play.
An amazing place for the kids and the adults who have a kid in them and the eagerness to learn a few things exciting. Took me back to school days. There are some activities which are water based and chances are high that your kids might get wet. Please carry a spare clothing. Well maintained and well made. There are play areas for <4yr olds. Safe, easy and damn exciting. Would suggest you keep atleast 2-3hrs for this.
Not bad. Much smaller than Philly Please Touch and Boston Children Museum. Some exhibits didn’t work. Plan for about 2-3hours depending on your kids pace. Consider a membership if you plan to go to any other organizations belonging to the ASTC
We love this place!!! Great for family and school outings. Best to buy a membership!
One of the best indoor places to spend with children in Ann Arbor. Entertaining. Great layout. Perfect preschool area.
Great place for kids. Many different areas to explore. There's a large water play area, foam blocks to build forts, an ambulance, and a dance game upstairs. There is a preschool area for the youngest visitors, with a water play area, ball machine, and much more.
My daughter and nephew love the place. The staff is friendly, always have a great experience here
This place is great. We have three kids, oldest is seven. We were there from about 11:00 AM to 3:30 with a break for lunch. You will wear out before the kids will. There is lots to do geared towards exploring science ideas. There is a toddler area for those under 4. Like the name of the place it is hands on (EVERYTHING). There is building blocks, a water area, maps of the world, tornado machine, ball target throw, house features exploration ie how do circuits work, plumbing etc. and the list goes on. There is no outside food allowed. There are some vending machines but you need to plan something to eat, either keep something in the car or walk to somewhere in Ann Arbor. Parking is about a block and a half away and is about $1.20 per whole hour increments. There are lockers for $.50 and lots of coat racks. There are mostly parents and grandparents with kids. I didn't see too many kids over the age of about 9. Everyone was engaged. Well worth the money.
What a amazing place this turned out to be! My wife and I spent 3 hours there today with all 4 of our kids. Here's their ages and what they thought. Our 3 year old never ran out of things to do, we took some great pictures of him playing in the ambulance (which he didn't want to get out of.) He loved the Museum so much that he also had a slight tantrum when we were on our way out. The (H2OH!) exhibit was his favorite experience for sure. The 8 year old was nonstop entertained as well, she's already asking when we can go back. She loved everything to do with bubbles and things like being able to capture her shadow on the wall, but her favorite area was also the (H2OH!) exhibit. My 11 year old (also a girl) made the most of it and interacted with just about every available exhibit. She did not complain once. Her vote for best area goes to the (H2OH!) exhibit. Then there is our 15 year old. Of course he hated it. He didn't have any fun at all, because "blah blah blah, this is lame, why do I have to go, this isn't fair, blah blah, teenager, blah." His favorite exhibit...... You guessed it... The exit. Lol! We will be back for sure. Will probably make the 15 year old go again too.
Very well organized, and lots for children to do. I took my five year old and nine year old and they both liked it very much. I also appreciated that there was hand sanitizer located throughout the building. Good call.
Very nice. Kids love it. Plenty of interactive displays for children that deeply engage. Go after 5pm, and pay under 1/2 price. Parking is limited.
Awesome place for the kids. Probably took about 2 hours to see everything. Though we stayed longer to revisit the water area which is a blast for the kids and the preschool age room which my youngest loved!
There is alot for the kids they will have so much fun. This was a dark room. Recording color shadow of your kids moving.
Excellent, we go to the events and the girls just love this place.
So much fun! Multiple levels - but not overwhelming - and small enough to do in one day without being cramped. Super friendly staff and a wide variety of activities. Easy to understand, fun, educational and just plain entertaining! Highly recommend!
Awesome day for my kids. They loved the water area and standing in a bubble.
Kids had a blast. Endless exhibits, fascinating hands-on experiences
Love, love, love this place! My kids love coming here is one of our top fav activities!
A great place for an indoor day trip with the kids. They had a great time and we will visit again.
Great place for kids to play. Even better if you do go often to have a membership. My first time going was positive. It's hard to keep your child from being distracted as many parents bring their kids here, but lots to do & see.
What a wonderful children's museum! We all had a wonderful time, and got in free because of our membership in a reciprocating children's museum! There were engaging, educational, and entertaining exhibits appropriate for every age level, including a 4-and-under-only "Preschool Gallery". Other highlights were: the best waterplay exhibit I've ever seen, a historical display about the building's former life as Ann Arbor's first firehouse, and a mind-blowing AV dance room on the fourth floor. Great location in the heart of downtown, and near many restaurants for lunch. If you do brown-bag it, there is a set aside snack/meal room on the first floor. The only downside is a lack of dedicated parking, but we had no trouble finding on-street parking. I can't wait until our next visit!
4 levels of fun, with interactive exhibits. It's a great mix of education and entertainment.
My 20 month old had a blast!
Really awesome place for kids of all ages. Went on a Saturday and it was very busy but parking was easy to find. This place has science related stuff explaining basic principals plus activities to keep the children attracted, my favourite was the water play area. Must go
I love coming here with my two year old son, he has so much fun and seeing him excited and smiling means everything to me.
The museum has a small free parking lot. It is more of a discovery center than a museum as it has numerous hands-on activities for participation. There are 4 floors of activities although the top 2 are quite small. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is dining available and a gift shop.
Great family place! Something to do for all age groups. My kids always have such an amazing time.
This place is nice but we thought it would have more. If you live close I would definitely recommend going but if you have to drive that far you could probably find a place closer that has a lot of the same stuff.
Great place for families and children of all ages. Highly recommended!
My 4 year old an amazing time here. He loves the balls and they have an entire room dedicated to balls. It's like a maze.
Absolutely best museum. We went to the Detroit Science Center ter the day before and remembered why I didn't care for it. At the Detroit Science Center there were a lot of exhibits that we're broken or didn't work correctly. The hands on Museum is fun, interactive and clean. It is very interesting for kids and adults. The staff is very helpful. I parked in a lot on fourth and Washington (I think). Not far and parking was free because it was a Sunday. I wish they would have a list of places to eat in the area. We ended up at such a cute vegan place....but it wasn't a hit for my kids. Keep in mind this museum has reciprocity so if you are a member of another museum participating you could get reduced or free admission. 1/8/19 Thank you! I knew the museum probably had something. We will ask for it next time.
Our 2 year old absolutely loves this place! It can get pretty crowded on the weekends but weekdays are pretty quiet. The pre-K room is awesome, but the ambulance room is a little tired. Overall this place is a gem for anyone with kids.
Great place highly recommend this place to other oarents, hands on experiences plus free shows and demonstration s are pretty cool, great place where you don't have to worry about telling your kid don't touch that
Love this place. The kids could just touch things and experiment. It was great.
This is such a cute place for kids. My daughter is 4 and there was plenty for her to do and play with. It was a little crowded, but we came on a Sunday so it was a busy day for them. Awesome overall!!
We love our membership here! The preschool room is always a hit. The water area is a blast. I love that as my kids grow they discover more and more of what this place has to offer.
Great fun to bring the kids to.
I have gone a few times when I worked as a nanny for a 6 and 8 year old. We all had a blast! I now have an infant and it's great that they have a toddler and infant area and are very nursing friendly throughout the museum.
Great for kids. Lots to do. Lots to learn.
Excellent place for curious kids and children whose love to discover how the things works!
This is a favorite place to spend the day (or a few hours). The membership is the best deal around, especially because it includes grandparents. We drive from there Detroit area and it is worth every mile and extra minutes in the car.
What a fun place and Also you learn so much!
Many wonderful stations for teaching every age of child.
Fun little museum. Great for kids 1 to about 7 i think. They havd lots water activities and science activities involving balls. So many things for the littles to do for hours. Activities for older children are very limited. I think they would be able to do everything within an hour. Parking is horrible and they do not offer food or drinks.
Great place for little ones to explore and play.
Great place for kids to experience different scientific things
My kids love this place and always find something new that interest’s them when we stop in.
Very fun place for the family. We bought the year membership since it was just a little more than our $50 for a family of 4 admission cost. Great fun for the whole family.
My two year old had a blast roaming room to room. We definitely will be back.
Wonderful place for families. Kids can play and learn. Tip: there's no restaurant inside, but there is a place to eat your own food. There is a vending machine with some snacks and drinks.
What a fun place for kids! My kids absolutely loved our trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. The water tables were their favorite.
Keeps little hands busy! And they know how to help you (mostly) keep your kid clean during the process. There are smocks for water play and lots of dryers, exhibits that are a accessible for all sizes of kids, and areas where you can take a quick break if needed.
Great place for kids of all ages. No food or drink options onsite.
Fun and safe place for the kids to run around and learn
A lot of things to do. Took a 2 1/2 year old and 2 - 9 year olds. They all had a ton of fun.
Always a great experience. Several exhibits seemed to not be working as intended, but they're usually good about getting those fixed or updated pretty quick. Always have and always will recommend.
Great hands on Museum. The membership is a good buy also (includes grandparents). My daughter LOVED it a 2 yrs old and almost 3 yrs old. Going back again in another couple months. Make a day of it with lunch in Ann Arbor.
Great place to take the kids for some fun. 4 levels of things to do from water activities, light, sound and much more. Parking garage within a few blocks of building. A nice little gift shop on the way out. My kids didn't want to leave lol.
My granddaughter loved the knowledge and learning of the water functioning concept. She's almost three I had a good time her favorite was the water though
Best place for curious children in the A2 area
Lots to do but several exhibits have been there for 20 years they could use an update for the price they charge to get in and the gift shop is crazy expensive. That ambulance is broken and tore up. Time to do some upgrades.
The water activity area was really fun for the kids. They also have a preschool area which was fun for the little ones. The only thing that's a negative is parking. This is located downtown so it's hard to find parking.
Our 3 year old loved this place! So much to do and the toddler room was perfect!
This is a great hands on science museum for little ones. The only thing missing is the option of buying something small to eat for lunch, like a slice of pizza. The is a vending machine though, but no main meal type items.
Nice place. A little expensive and the parking situation sucks but understandable. My only real issue is it gets really crowded really quickly and most parents don't bother to parent their children. My two smaller kids were knocked down or literally shoved out of the way by multiple older kids all while the parents sat off to the side on their phones. I'm not sure when their "slow time" is but I'd definitely like to find out and only go then.
Love going here, even my older kids enjoy it. My wife and I catch ourselves playing along with them.
Best place to take your children, their are so many activities to do and lessons to learn! I used to go when I was a child, and it's still there for me to take my kids. I absolutely adore The Hands-on Museum and so do my children! Only critique would be the cafeteria, theres no food area unless you throw a party and bring your own food. They could do alot better with the cafeteria!
A great place to take the kids. Educational and fun. As the old add said "Kid tested, mother approved!"
would have given it a five but 2 reason a lot of items broken and we had a spot to eat and they made us eat outside my students are special needs and normally i have 18 had 10 it was very upsetting as we were the only ones outside very mean from how i was told didn't want to cause a disturbance. it was the managers decision.
Nice place to visit on a rainy day with children. Sunday is at a reduced rate.
IT'S REALLY SET UP UP TO 8 YEARS OLD IF YOU ASK ME I TOOK MY GRANDDAUGHTER THERE AND HER FRIEND 10 AN 11 YEAR OLDS, I ASKED THEM WHAT THEY THOUGHT OF THE MUSEUM YOUR FEEDBACK WAS VERY NICE LOT OF THINGS TO DO IF YOU'RE YOUNGER THAN US 8 YEARS OLD AND UNDER THEY BOTH SAID AT THE SAME TIME ANSWERING MY QUESTION. PARKING AROUND THERE IS VERY QUESTIONABLE DIDN'T SEE MUCH PARKING METERS??? MUESLI SEEN PARKING PERMIT PARKING ONLY. SO WE WENT AND FOUND A PARKING GARAGE AND PARK. THEY SHOULD HAVE A SPECIALLY-DESIGNED MAP OF THE PLACES AND SITES THEY RECOMMEND IN THE MAP. WAS LOOKING FOR A STORE ALL THINGS MICHIGAN AND MICHIGAN COLLEGE BUT NEVER FOUND NO SUCH STORE THE DOWNTOWN ANN ARBOR. BUT THE MUSEUM WAS VERY NICE AND THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY PLEASANT. THE LIVE LITTLE ANIMAL EXHIBIT AND THE MICROSCOPE OF THE PONS VERY VERY COOL.
If you're and adult and have even the tiniest bit of geek/nerd in you, and especially only a tiny bit, this place will bring many smiles to your face as your (re)discover the innocent fun and wonderment of simple science principles in action, demonstrated by model gadgets (the tornado maker, for example) :-) And of course for children, it's a little paradise of hands-on fun.
We purchase the yearly membership. My 3 year old and 18 month old love thos place. We actually just went for a bday party and seen parts of the museum we had never been in before even after 10 plus visits. The preschool room and the water floor are my boys favorite areas. The walk from parking garage is not too bad but plan accordingly during winter months and rain.
As the name states HandsOn experience for kids and parents alike. My kids loved it.
We love this place, but have a hard time coming any other day than Thursday evening when admission is discounted. Our 4 year old loves the water room and ball room, and many other exhibits. Several galleries are incredibly dated though and need some refreshing or totally new exhibits.
Admissions fee too much, not much to see and some of the hand on things didn't work
Excellent place to have fun for kids and adults as well. The best value is the membership if your going to visit more than once!
Had so much fun with my son on his school field trip
Everything I imagined it would be! I went with my Mom nearly two decades ago and always dreamed of taking my own child one day. My daughter(7) and I(34) had so much fun with all the different experiments & stations integrating play & science so perfectly! The staff was friendly and helpful, the building was clean and modern, really just an all-around fun educational place to take your child 12 and under. Older if they enjoy science! There are 3 or 4 floors of activities, a gift shop(low cost small souvenirs!), water play (extra clothes are a good idea or make it the last thing before leaving!), a coat room, and restaurants in walking distance. Will definitely be coming back again as my daughter really loves it!
Amazing place to bring your kids
Worth every penny. 3y\o and 7 y\o love it.
Family had a great time here! My daughter loved it. She has been here multiple times with school. It was my first time.
Good fun for everyone between 2 years and 150 years! The staff are very friendly and businesslike. A super experience all the way around.
We took our children ages 9, 8, and 7 and they loved this place!! It was a wonderful 2 hours and fairly affordable at 12.50 per person. There Is no where to purchase food inside except vending machine. Which does take cards. All in all it was a fun experience. My kids favorite part was the country store and the human size bubble.
Lots of diverse learning activities for kids in preschool through about 5th grade. Although, I took my 18 month old and he had a blast. This would be a great place for a field trip. And right now they have a discounted admission price for Bridge Card holders through Sept. 30, 2019.
The regular exhibit was cool, but the science lab was boring for Kindergartners. The atmosphere was clean and full if children
Lots of unique activities that the kids enjoyed. The toddler room was a big hit with our 4 year old. Very nice water play area. Easily spent 2 hours there with the kids.
Perfect for my 3 year old daughter! She releases her energy & enjoys playing so much!
Great place for kids to learn neat things
Kids love it!! It's clean, friendly staff, outside food it allowed, but you have to eat in designated areas which were also clean. If would be nice if they had their own cafe.
Mostly great museum!! Just wish the four and under room accommodate me older kids. Makes it a juggle to bring your kids when there is a large age gap because the older sibling is supposed to stay with the younger sibling - and that is expected for age five and up. What five year old wants to, and is even capable of, staying with a toddler for the entire time. There is a lunch room where you can eat the food you brought. Convenient!
Excellent place for kids. Lots of exhibits and activities. No food on site but you can bring food in and it is in walking distance of great restaurants (and you can leave and re-enter with your receipt).
A nice place to spend a few hours with the family. The exhibits were all in working order and there was a great variety that held the interest of my 18y/o to my 8y/o. Would definitely recommend stopping by and checking this place out if you are in town.
Its loud and the exhibits do not change often. Great expierence for my Little, so I put up with the migraine. If you are sensitive to noise and stimuli, go with a partner and take a time out near the entrance or in the vending machine lounge. This way it can be a long day for all involved.
What am awesome time. Next time we are in the area, we're definitely coming back.
Very child friendly place. Good for all ages! It even has a separate preschool area that is enclosed. Everyone is very welcoming.
Very informative and you learn lots because you're doing stuff.
My nephew had fun here.
The staff we did interact with, (Unloading and loading the bus) was pleasant. However, I am not sure the point of the museum. The kids had no one explaining why this worked with this or how. It was not well organized by the staff. We had to wait to eat almost 15 minutes later because they scheduled schools back to back. There were also maybe 4 other schools. Very over crowded. Honestly I wouldn't waste my time going back. Michigan Science Center is way better!! Demonstrations and staff to explain things to the kids. Kids can even get a chance to participate in some of the experiments. Ann Arbor Hands-On was a waste!
Lots of very cool hands on and interactive displays. My kids, 2 and 5, are too young for some displays but still have a blast and discover something new every time we go. Very big with lots to see and do.
It is definitely a lot smaller than I remembered it being, I was also seven the last time I was there. Parking was a bit confusing, but nothing too bad if you do some planning before you go. Even at 20 years old, this place definitely brought out the inner child in me! The gift shop was cheap too. I did like the fact that you could get a few small trinkets without breaking the bank. The gentleman at the front desk was super friendly and excited to explain to me and the person I was with how much has changed and where to find things. I definitely will keep this place in mind for a rainy day.
Our family was given the Hands on Museum pass as a Christmas gift. We have 4 girls ages 1 to almost 10. Our 4 and 7 year old loved the museum but my oldest felt that it was "too babyish". With 4 children of various ages it was difficult to keep them all engaged. They have a 4 and under only room which is great for small kiddos but there is no where for the older siblings to go nor were they allowed in the room. This museum is probably best for under 10. Parking is several blocks away which on bitter cold day was a miserable walk. The museum is sensory friendly and very accommodating to nursing mom's. Over all its a great experience and we will be returning. We just have to find something else for our oldest to do.
Very cute 3-level mini museum that offers a lot to the very young, the youngsters (adolescents and teenagers) and even some attractions for their parents or caretakers. The hands-on feature is a big plus because many museums mostly feature a walkthrough and a see-through, not a touch-through. Really cool place to bring family and friends.
My kids loved it here. Time well spent. Good interactive activity for kids.
Plenty of fun for the whole family with lots a learning opportunities. We will definitely be coming back
We've brought our kids here for years and they always have a good time. In fact, I think I enjoy the visit a bit more than they do since the entire place is interactive.
Great place to bring young kids! adult could participate as well
Great place for little kids to get out and explore. Although my 11 year old says it's "for little kids" but she can still find enough to occupy her for about an hour. My 3 year old particularly loves the ambulance they have set up for kids to play in/with. Beware the water areas - the kids love them but they'll probably need a change of clothes after.
Parking lot is small but street parking is free after 6pm. Very cool exhibits, my son was engaged the whole time. I like that they have a discount night on Thursdays. They also have a snack area and can bring in your own lunch.
