REVIEWS OF USS Constitution IN Massachusetts

It’s your average old war ship restored to its original beauty with some interesting history included in the visit to the USS Constitution.

Eric Stanulis

It was great seeing a piece of history like that. Just watch your head as you go below decks, especially on the lowest level. Clearance on the first deck down is about 6 feet, the lower deck is 5'5".

Rose Garcia

During our sight seeing tour we stopped to visit the USS Constitution, amazing how the sailors lived and worked as they dedicated their lives for our Freedom. God Bless their Families.

Johnathan Farrington

Absolute must see while in Boston! This is such a huge piece of history that is so cool to see completely for free. The staff on board, who are active service men and women, know their stuff and are very happy to help! I learned a ton of fascinating things from them and was glad to have asked as many question as I did, and they seemed to not mind as they were bored anyways. Just for anyone looking to go make sure to bring an ID of some kind! There is security and a metal detector to go on the ship and they do require an ID when you go through. This is of course great for all ages and the museum attached is certainly geared for younger kids. I would recommend this for everyone that enjoys history or ships!

Ira Sir

Very nice museum. One very old ship (18th century) and a ship from World War II. You can explore both ships almost everywhere. Historical.

Lawrence Hyden

When I was 6 I remember walking to the old ironside from the projects and I'm 43 now it I want to go back to Boston because of the rich history.

Kevin

My wife & I went to visit the USS Constitution yesterday, the 28th October 2019. We were standing in the queue and we both looked at each other in shock. I was going to call her a lady but she is no lady. The attendant was very rude to the people in front of us. Then it was our turn. We are from the UK and are not used to carrying photo ID, which would mean our passports. Well this member of staff must have a degree in rudeness. We were so disgusted we walked out. All that was needed was some polite words, stating that you must have photo ID otherwise you cannot enter. If you can't handle the job leave. We did go in the cafe and had a drink and ice cream. Which was very clean and I am pleased to say that the staff were very friendly and polite. Clearly went to a different school.

D S

Very nice. Well run. Staff was very helpful and informative.

Andrew Berg

What an awesome place for all ages. Brought my two kids and they loved it. The ship and museum, as well as the USS Cassin Young, we’re so much fun to explore. The whole navy yard is a great area to walk around, with history to check out and great spots to eat.

Chasing Wildgusts

So cool to see a piece of American history still in use and functional. Beautiful ship

David Coulson

The ship is an amazing piece of history. Truly enjoyed touring it. May folks there to answer questions. Loads of fun. The museum not so much, great for kids, adults not so much and the donation guilt trip is a turn off. Just charge admission.

jason gomez

The best part of my visit to Boston was when the Freedom trail led me here. The impact it had on me was and is literally indescribable❤️❤️

Catakang Games

It was good. It was hot, but I liked the ship. It was pretty interesting.

Brady Dickens

Historical site with active duty sailors providing tours, answering questions free, and giving live demos. Free and open to the public. The boat is the original USS constitution

Alex Deel

Very cool! Great spot for couples or families to check out. Several sets of steps to go up/down on the ship itself, and the bottom area you will have to duck down a little bit if you are 6' or so. Definitely worth checking out. Only complaint was the prices of items in the gift shop were pretty high even for gift shops.

Alex Schoedel

This ship is kept in great shape. Very friendly staff. Thank you for your service.

See Joy

A great experience of visiting this historically important place. There's a little bit of entry procedure along with security check and ID check of course and then we can walk inside. We can actually go on the huge war ship. The rangers explained us in detail about all the parts and compartments. We also visited all the levels. It's so fascinating to see all the historical parts and imagine the old times which were so difficult compared to today. We had a really good time there and it was so educational too. Thanks so much !!

Hillary Campbell Johnson

Beautiful old ship. Self guided with sailors stationed at points among the way who give commentary. Security, then exhibits/restrooms/gift shop, then board vessel. Adults need ID.

Vimal Shah

Throughly my enjoyed the tour of the ship and was surprised there is no paid admission but donations are encouraged. Steeped in so much history so a must visit if your a buff!

Edgar Marzoratti

Excellent experience. Cordial and informative service personnel. Parking the only inconvenience. I recommend the visit.

Avnish Bhatnagar

Great experience in exploring this amazing piece of our country's naval history. The museum is excellent and worth visiting as well.

James Lau

We had a wonderful time there. The ship was well maintained and absolutely beautiful. It was very hot on the day we visited. We felt kind of muggy when we got to the lower deck. Overall we had fun there. We recommend to have some water handy for the visit during the summer time.

Aaron Measer

The ship itself is a great experience, three decks of history and artifacts to explore. The staff onboard are very knowledgeable and eager to talk about any aspect of the ship. The visitors center is nice as well, showcasing the history of the ship and the Navy yard in general. The whole place is accessible only through a metal detector and guarded gate as it is still an active military ship.

Giovanni Boezio

So amazingly built, a piece of art that send you back 200 years.

Adriane Mack

What a historic visit. Glad I brought my 6 year old

Hartley Smith

This ship is cool and I love the woodwork and detail of the build.Beautifully cared for and loved.Recommend young and seniors alike as its a free tour. Shmo

Kirk Hickling

Was our family's first tourist destination when we arrived in Boston. Used our city pass to get us in and was well worth the visit if you like sailing ships and history.

Heather Bloom

Beautiful, well preserved piece of American History. I found the docents (most are active military) to be incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. There are so many fun little details to find in this ship: from carvings, to the "heads" up at the prow of the ship.

Troy B

We spent a day in Boston riding on the Old Trolley and this was favorite stop. Really cool historic ship and active duty Navy personal are the tour guides. It was great to hear about old history and also get to know some of our service members fighting for our freedom today.

Kendalyn Staddon

It was amazing to see this ship and try to imagine living life so many years ago. It was especially neat that it is still in the water.

Craig P

Incredibly well kept and preserved ship, can't believe its free to enter!

Boris Reid

Unbelievably awesome experience, for free. The ship is in perfect condition, the staff is very helpful. Consider donating

Brendan O'Shea

While walking the Freedom Trail we took in the USS Constitution. To our surprise we saw the LE Samuel Beckett Irish Naval Vessel also alongside. Delighted to be given a tour of the ship.

Pranshu Pancholi

Learnt a good amount of history. Was worth the time and effort. Old ships are quite well maintained.

Richard Fierro

This ship is a beautiful and exciting piece of our naval and American history. Well preserved and enthusiastic naval historical guides on duty. Many parts of the ship are open for public viewing and disclosure, on duty naval staff are able to answer any questions you have about the ship and its decorated past.

Keith Jackson

Really cool! Although my wife didn't want to spend too much time here, the Isabella Stewart Gardner thing was apparently more important (that horse did have huge balls though). The ship itswlf was much bigger than I thought and the folks there were informed and informative.

Ethan Sharp

This is a really cool piece of history. It's impressive to see a ship that is so old still on the water. It's hard to believe that it actually is over 200 years old and still in service with the navy. The tickets for admission are very reasonable and it is a laid-back self guided tour. You do have to pass airport style security so be prepared for that.

Penny McGhee

Really enjoyed the Cassin Young. Didn't go in the USS Constitution.

Mark Bucaj

A must see when visiting Boston's Freedom Trail. It's a real historical Navy ship still in service. The ship itself is in great shape and looks ready to go out to sea fight pirates. The Navy seamen on board are knowledgeable and eager to share the history of the ship.

Audrey de Lange

Absolutely loved this. The oldest ship in our naval fleet and it is pristine. Also enjoyed speaking to our Navy guys. Very fascinating.

Lee Margulin

Don't walk, run to this historical site. Truly impressive tour. The ship is in ship shape condition and the your guide is well trained. Stop reading and go now!

Willard

Really cool to go down inside this old ship. There's also a nearby lawn with enormous trees and Adirondack chairs to relax and get out of the heat.

Dave McCann

Truely remarkable. This vessel is still active duty and maned by Navy personnel. Pictures has all the commander of the vessel

Nick Cirigliano

What can be said about this great American exhibit. Just awesome

Debra Obinna

What a beautiful place to visit. Chilling. After going through the 'search' we went through the gift shop where I bought a little ship in a bottle for someone in Montana. It was mt first time here so I didn't realize we could go bellow deck as well. [I'll be going back]. Everything was so huge It must have taken those men great muscles to tie the ropes etc.... Boarding was easy enough but disembarking was a little more queasy - being elderly with walking issues - the young however, had no problem running down the ramp. If you want to experience a piece of history like nothing else you've seen then I strongly recommend this experience. A must see. [I was doing a sightseeing tour for someone in Montana. I got her the Boston mug and proceeded to take a picture of the mug in all the beautiful place in New England. That's why it's in all the photos.]

Steve Jackson

This is an amazing ship with a rich history! I once had the unique opportunity to tour this ship with one of the sailors stationed there who told me some of the "behind the scenes" stories. For example, there is a cabinet in the officer's dining room that has all the ship's captains' signatures on the back of it!

Travis Bouchard

It was super cool being able to see the ship and board it. Very interactive with knowledgeable tour guides. Would highly recommend.

Christopher Malec

Better than I remember. I was a reluctant child taking the tour years ago. Now a very eager to learn older adult. Glad to have a second chance to appreciate our history.

Kay Lynne Firsching

Impressive and stunning. Worthwhile and interesting. Manned by US Navy sailors who will answer any questions you may have. Makes history come to life.

Rory Sheehan

Great place to see the old dry dock, and the modern and old ship in contrast.

Sharon McCann

Protecting our history is important. Active duty Navy personnel man the ship. Our tour was wonderful. Sam-I-am ar Gray Line is the best.

Jon W

Awesome museum and the ship looked cool but we failed to verify and went on a locals word that it was open Monday’s. It’s not. May go if we can but overall it was still neat and the museum around the area is great.

Kacee Baucom

Beautiful and amazing. One of our favorite sites in Boston. Make sure to bring photo ID in order to board the ship.

Liliia Koreba

Beautiful ship! You can tour it inside for free and the museum!

Warren Droms

Nice selection of beer and wine. Nice staff and good food.

Thom Hogan

The world's oldest commissioned ship, in amazing condition - what's not to love?!!

Mike Flynn

Made me feel great pride in my country... brilliant men who designed and built this war ship...going below deck gave me chills....do yourself a favor if you are a hands on guy...

Rizelle Angelique Prado

Awesome old ship with lots of history! It was cool to tour around.

Byung Chul Kim

Great history. Uniformed Navy personnel assisting tourist with answers is very helpful.

Piotrek HighTower

It is really nice old piece of history. You can touch it, walk around, go under the decks and listen or talk to the crew. Great for kids and adults to stop by and take a photo. Definitely recommended especially if you do tour bus because one of the stops is right next to the USS. Keep in mind that the entry fee is zero however you need to have your ID with you in order to pass security check point.

Don DeFlavis

A beautiful living piece of history. Very well restored. Very friendly and knowledgeable crew, yes actual sailors and soldier's as you're hosts and guides.

Frank Gutierrez

Magnificent warship, incredible history. Oldest US Navy ship is beautifully maintained. Naval personnel offer tours. Not required for ship viewing. Hop On Hop Off bus stop. Navy takes it out in harbor about 8 times a year. Museum is a must. Lots of neat hands-on exhibits and memorabilia. Learn how and why "Old Ironside" got its name.

Mike Van O'Linda

It is awesome to be able to step onto such an awesome part of the United State's history. Being able to walk around in the same spots and cramped spaces as some of our nations heroes. Touching parts of the ship truly allows you to connect to the past. GO VISIT if you are in the area and like US Maritime history.

Frank Ciolkosz

The only thing that is free, very Historic beautiful sailing vessel, must see. .

Arun Sannuti

Well worth a visit. Try going in the morning, to avoid people who are finishing the Freedom Trail.

Samuel Bowerman

Seeing this ship with my own eyes was surreal. To finally be able to see this, legendary relic of war, was a dream come true. I would come back to this place to tour this magnificent ship again.

Joe W

You are allowed to visit all three levels of the ship at a self paced tour for free. Staff is available to answer any questions. Well worth the visit.

SGP Versluis

Awesome ship and piece of history along the freedom Trail. Had a visitors centre and museum next to it, and it's even accessible to tourist. Nice stop!

Sarah Black

The ship itself is small enough to keep young ones interested, and they can scamper below decks without too many 'don't touch' restrictions. Staff are available and knowledgeable, but don't force you to listen to canned content. The ferry ride over is a great experience.

James Revelle

Very interesting. First US ship. Love history. Must see when visiting Boston.

Douglas Macone

Everyone should take the time to see this magnificent ship and its history.

Tom Fending

The ship was awesome. Great national park. There was also great WWII vehicles there present yesterday.

Charlotte Tucker

Was able to add knowledge to children by them experiencing and seeing first hand. Bringing what they have read about to life

Sol Cardona

A visit that we will never forget! We decided to walk around Boston to complete the freedom trail. I strongly recommended you to try it, Boston is gorgeous and the historical sites, breathtaking. We arrived to USS Constitution as our last place in our tour and people were just super excited to received us! The boutique is very cute and the boat, OMG, just beautiful. Thank you to all the crew for the amaizing experience!

Monique Martin

As the oldest worship in us history this is a must see! Make sure you visit with the sailors on board! They have amazing facts and stories. Make sure your bring ID with you as this is considered a military base!

Debbie O'Toole

Great way to live history and get an idea of what the crew went through

Jennifer Sanchez

Very nice area to view the harbor. Parking available and lots of areas to sit.

Paul Solberg

Nice to visit a historic site where everything is not roped off.

Troy Lawson

Great ship to enjoy. They removed all cannons, but it is still an active vessel This was a particularly awesome place for me, as it was launched on my birthday and it was the first water vessel I boarded in my life. Found it fascinating how the Navy still operates this.

Kritt Normsaskul

The USS Constitution is a must-visit landmark along the Freedom Trail. It's an old wooden ship with many features preserved (e.g. canons and officer's mess) so, if you want to feel like you're on The Pirates of the Caribbean, then you have to come. It's a small attraction so don't expect to be spending too long here, but it's great to have a wander around and talk to the knowledgeable crew about the ship. Plus, it's a free attraction. I highly recommend a visit.

Brian F Olsen

This is the oldest commissioned ship in the world! It originally launched in 1797. George Washington named the ship after the United States Constitution. It is spectacularly preserved and yes, it still sails. The sailors stationed aboard this masterpiece said it would be going out this Friday for a cruise. I guess select E7's from the Navy get to run her out in the ocean. "Old Iron Sides" never lost a battle. NEVER! An amazing feat for sure. The sailor on the boat said "she defeated 5 British warships during the war of 1812. I really didn't expect actual sailors to be on board this vessel. They were all wearing uniforms from that era. Whilst there I was fortunate enough to witness a special ceremony documenting 400 years since the first slave ships landed in our country. All were silent as the bell was rung for four minutes. Their was a reading beforehand acknowledging the struggles of the African Americans then and now.

Evans Cordoba

One of the many places to visit on the "Freedom Trail" in Boston. Went there with my father and spent a wonderful evening. The oldest Warship still in service today. A living museum, where you can learn plenty in a day. The crew were very helpful explaining different things about the ship. Really nice place to visit while you are in Boston. Great for families.

Mitzi Cartwright

One of our favorite sites visited in Boston! Loved the accessibility of the ship and the historical interpreters were fantastic!!

Peter McDonnell

We were from the UK on holiday. We were stopped from going onboard because of not having photo ID.............Very poor experience.

david francis

Fascinating, but you need to be fairly nimble to get below decks. We caught a very interesting talk from a naval person in period dress.

Josh

Great place to see a bit of American history and learn about the ship.

Amy Behnke

My visit was as a chaperone on a class trip with my son. The ship is in the water, and has some modern alterations like electricity but other than that it's a treat to be able to see what the boat looked like when it was brand new! There were servicemen on board and we got to hear a story about its decision to be built and how embarrassing it was to launch since it took more than a couple tries. Truly a treat to be on board, look around (I went at least 2/3 levels below top deck) and hear the story.

Aqil Sidek

A very fun place to visit. May be a bit boring for some kids but I would still recommend it. Try to get there at the hour as the active-duty Navy servicemen manning the ship will ring the bell.

B D

Lots of good stuff, also about womans women's contributions.

Elena Kamis

So much fun! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the place is well kept up. So cool to learn about these things and it was a great way to start off a trip to Boston.

jean porter

Very impressed with the ship ! And staff on board was so accommodating to questions. An honour to be visiting from canada and experiencing the pride from all.

Raj Vinjamuri

One of the most immersive historic exhibitions on the Freedom trail, this is a 'must see'. Free and open to the public, the active duty US Navy personnel are very professional and cater to tourists well.

Alex Fadeev

Awesome free exhibit of an actual historical war shop. Kinda far go nuts below decks, better than any plans ground in Boston. Adults learn to duck really fast

Hayden B

Incredible experience! I enjoyed the ability to freely roam about the deck and interior of the ship. It's a great way to learn about an amazing piece of American history.

Annabella Molea

One of the best historical places to see on Boston. Beautiful and clean. Just a nice place to visit.

Jamy Stenger

Such a cool place to visit with the family and get a sense of the history that's a part of Boston. The kids loved it!

Jamie Bertucci

Incredible! The Navy men on board are very knowledgeable and answered tons of questions for us. There are 4 levels to tour. Watch your head & mind small children. The ladders to climb up & down are steep & narrow. (Authentic!) This is a free venue. Don't miss it if you are a tourist!

John Frank

Would have been really nice to visit, but I was separated from my family during the security screening because I had legal pocket knife. What our founders would think? As a veteran, it's appalling we ask our citizens to surrender their rights in this way.

Edin Selimovic

Beautiful ship, a must see when in Boston. Wish that the captain's cabin was open , otherwise everything was perfect.

Gallick Cee

You can smell the history the moment you come aboard(or was that the smell of new paint?). You are allowed to explore all 3 decks. Watch your head on the 3rd deck though, the ceiling is very low. The sailors are friendly & have lots of knowledge about the ship. It was a pleasure visiting this American family jewel.

Jessica Opaleski

Would definitely go again. The sailors giving tours were amazing. And the ship is beautiful. And it's free!

Marc Grimes

Educational, historical, and honestly pretty dang cool. It's fortunate we still have the chance to board this legacy of our past. There's a whole lot of security to get through, but definitely worth the visit!

teshowme marshall

I must visit place anytime you are in Boston!!! The young Sailors onboard are extremely knowledgable on the history of this beautiful vessel. Fellow Sailors, Chiefs etc please bring coins to reward the young Sailors onboard or their expertise because they are not allowed to take monetary tips.

Casey Kaczmarek

An interesting and significant piece of history. A must see when in Boston. The ship is maintained meticulously and the crew is polite and professional.

Dennis Roberts

Living history!!! The active duty Navy personnel are knowledgeable and informative. A must see if you visit Boston

Natte Scott

Well worth the visit! Free! Bring your ID if over 18! Go early to miss the tour buses and slow tourists. Less people the better since this is not a very big ship. This is an active military ship so respect it and the on duty Navy boys!

Bob Hoagland

Free tour. Must pass through security. Boat ramp is not wheel chair friendly. Helpful staff to talk to. Great history.

Paul Trump

Top notch attraction, service men and women are wonderful and very knowledgeable!

William Kottner

What a wonderful piece of history, amazingly maintained early 3 masted wooden navy warship, able to climb down into lower decks and see canons and crew quarters, there are navy shipmen manning the boat to answer every question and teach you about this magnificent ship, and it is all free of charge, take the time and you won't regret.

Naomi Steel

Firstly, it's donation based/free admission. Secondly it's awesome to climb and touch history. The Constitution museum is AMAZING. Easily the best, most informative, interesting, kid friendly museum I've seen in a very long while. We spent hours enjoying it.

Simon Laufer

Unfortunately we got there after closing. It is a historical moment. Beautiful surroundings too.

Marc L'Heureux

So much history here and FREE to visit. Beautiful vessel immaculately maintained by our great service men and women. Brought my family from Florida to see it and they were astonished by it. Truly one of America's greatest treasures and one of many important pieces of historical significance to see in Boston. A MUST visit!

Jim Whelan

This is a real piece of living history. It is the oldest commissioned ship in the US Navy and is staffed with active duty sailors. They are extremely knowledgeable and eager to answer your questions. It is also a great photo op.

Shaun K.

Great museum and the ship was pretty cool to tour. Decent burger joint there, too. I would recommend spending an afternoon there if you love history.

Gerard Ready

The oldest, still operational, ship in the U.S. Navy. Second oldest in the world. Old Ironsides, from the war of 1813. Free to board, tour. Informative crew of real U. S. Navy sailors on board. Impressive, indeed. Also tour for free a W.W.2 destroyer on the grounds. And, don't forget the nearby Bunker Hill monument. All are treasures on Boston's world famous,FREE Freedom Trail. Paid tours abound. If you have the time,on foot is best. FREE maps available at Boston Common Visitors Center. No, I am not paid a dime. I just LOVE my city!!!!

Robert Shumaker

An amazing piece of history! You get to board the oldest, longest serving ship in the US Navy....the best part is that its free!

Juan Carlos Valdivia

Very well preserved , must see if you visit Boston, it's a landmark in this beautiful city full of history.

Tracey Greene

It was exciting to go on this ship and hear the stories from those that re-enact them for the guests that come aboard. Definitely a nostalgic moment for me I myself served in the Navy so going aboard that vessel was such a blessing. Definitely recommend a visit to this place to all who come to Massachusetts in the Boston area

Darrell Hart

Free parking on the Freedom Trail. Not too long of a walk from downtown(on a nice day). The Constitution is still a commissioned warship! Interpretative museum is excellent. Film is a good balance of detail and "not too long"

Stephan Edel

My son was a little young but we all loved it. The grown ups found the history fascinating my son 5 thought it was great to climb on a real pirate ship

Steven Richards

What a great experience, to have a chance to walk the desk of one of america's greatest war ships to serve the USA. The battles fought on each level of the boat. lives lost and lives taken to assure American freedom from tyranny. The museum is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon with friends and family. Perhaps a refreshment bar on the common would be something to consider. hint hint. Cocoa in the winter....

Anna Dempsey

Such great living history guides were soo cool.

shelley richardson

Best place in Boston to see history. Make sure you bring your ID to prove your at least 18. Can see two decks below too.

cynthia r

It was a beautiful day to visit. Admission is free and the staff was very friendly. There are bathrooms but no snacks or food to buy. Exhibits were very informative plus the ship is beautiful and it's nice they let you explore.

David Ver Eecke

Nice piece of history. Pretty cool that she floats on her own. Tour is okay, but the tour guides are actually serving in the Navy so have to give them a break on that one. Hard to imagine working on a ship like that back in the day.

cody brunn

Great peice of history. Cost nothing to go on the ship itself. If your in boston you should definitely check it out.

Betty mason

I bought a flag for my granddaughter to raise and fly on the USS Constitution she was thrilled. It came with a letter from the captain and they taught her how to fold it. This was a great experience for both of us.

Kimberly Schmit

A MUST see if ever you are in Boston. The USS Constitution is the oldest, still floating, warship, in the world. She is "Old Ironside." When you go on board (and you won't get sea sick), you can sense or feel the history of the ship. To think about what she went through, though only one battle, at that time in history, it's difficult to comprehend. If only her walls or the decks could talk. The US Navy is her responsibility, and they do a marvelous job. It's free to go aboard, but you have to show your id, so make sure you have it with you. Please leave a donation while you are there. It's so worth it!

Susanne Behrisch

Is free and really worth going there. Walk the Freedom Trail and at the end your destination is the Constitution. Also a lot of fun for kids

Shelby Rice

The ship is beautiful and you're free to roam it's decks. If you want extra info they also have people onboard to answer questions or giving demonstrations.

Carolyn Hicks

This ship, aka, Old Ironsides, is an amazing part of American History. I very much enjoyed boarding and experiencing each level. Very well kept, the staff aboard this ship were helpful and friendly, ready to answer any questions you have. Wonderful experience.

walter metcalfe

A great piece of American Naval History Good attraction and well maintained

Apocalypse Inc

Great destination. It is a beautiful ship to see up close. And it’s free

April Converse

Amazing old ship with guides to explain in period costume. There is also anyone military on the ship which is neat.

Andrew Lynam

It was a surprise to find out that the people on board in period dress, were actually active duty Navy sailors. They were so helpful and friendly, we asked a lot of questions and were impressed to see it out in the harbor the next day shooting off it's cannons and causing a ruckus, which is impressive considering it is 222 years old. If you are in Boston and you like history, go see it.

Kyle R

Awesome ship, tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Great experience here and it gives you a sense of how the Navy operated back in the olden days.

Nancy Kaiser

History of this great country. The good ole USA

PRADEEP S KHOBARE

USS Constitution used from Second world war now kept as memorial in the Boston Port. You can visit and know the working and facilities on deck. And the life of Navyman. Very magnificent view.

Ryan Saucier

Great museum. Even with lots of people lines move well. Don’t forget your pocket knife like I did- security will take it.

Isaac Reynolds

If your in Boston you must stop to see 'Old Ironsides', a historic monument that also happens to be a fully functioning and active frigate of the U.S. Navy. The tour is free and the volunteers and crew members are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the ship's history. A must see!

Jesse Van Harlinger

Beautiful! A must see! A short trip too! The ship is the main attraction. You can walk in side, admire the craftsmanship, and awe at the many cannons onboard. Most of the information of the ship is located at the museum about a 100 yards from the ship.

Eric Lockman

Great history. Expect to go through security (adults will need your IDs) and spend about 30min onboard. Very respectful and friendly crew.

Cuppie Cake

Amazing piece of history. It was great to explore the ship & the crew was super informative about all of our questions! :)

C Hendricks

Beautiful old battle ship, we really enjoyed our visit.

Tim Cowsert

Fun to see a sailing ship up close. Can go below 2 decks. Super nice staff!

Ginger Summers

So much to see and do. Great young sailors with lots of information regarding the USS Constitution. Don't miss it!

Francisco Alcaraz

This place is really cool and an important part of American history. The entrance requires your ID and a security check, and once aboard you are free to explore most of the ship. This was a mini pilgrimage for me as I was able to learn that US Marines fought and died here, so it was an honor to be in the footsteps of my forefathers. Definitely a must do when you're in Boston.

logan friess

This was one of our most favorite parts if the Freedom Trail. Very enjoyable.

G Kurian

Great place full of history! The staff is ready to answer questions and provide more insight into the lives of those aboard this vessel and the history of the ship. The museum across the ship is full of great naval exhibits. The views of Boston from here are spectacular. A small walk from the USS Constitution is another Navy vessel you can visit, the USS Cassin Young. A much modern ship but with great educational opportunities. From this location, you van also walk to the Bunker Hill monument and museum. Awesome location to soak up history!!

Jennifer Whitten

Loved it living history!! The boat is well taken care of. Make sure to bring your own water very expressive food and drinks.

Prayash Barua

It was Majestic. We were there on the 4th of July, the only day of the year that it sails. I bet that would be quite an experience, but as we were late, we had to again wait till 3pm for the tour inside the ship to start.

Anita Kingree

This is a fascinating place. I can't imagine what it would have been like serving on this ship. If you love history, you should definitely check it out.

Paul Stroud

Beautiful, beautiful ship! The polished wood and brass, and the cannons and endless rigging and sails. WOW! One of the sailors told us that they take her out for special days - D-Day, 4th of July, etc. But it's very labor intense. A minimal rigging requires about 200 sailors! Impressive! And FREE! Just show a photo ID.

All my life, I have heard about this ship and how impressive it was and still is! Setting foot upon her decks was a huge honor. My impression of life on this ship is reminiscent of life in Castillo San Felipe del Morro in San Juan, Puerto Rico under the Spaniards. Cramped living in often overly hot conditions, always under threat of attack. Not fun. Yet both national monuments still exist to remind us of how harsh duty to our nation can truly be.

The best part of the freedom trail! Such an amazing ship. So well kept! Must see!!

Sadly it was terrible weather when we went so couldn't make the most of it. Be prepared with government photo ID as you go through airport like security to get in. The ship is impressive and free entry makes it a worthwhile stop on the Freedom Trail.

Incredible history and beauty! Worth the walk on the Freedom Trail

The whole family enjoyed stepping back into history. Fun for all.
