REVIEWS OF The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum IN Massachusetts

Mary Knuth

Very cool group of museums. 6year old and 2 year old had a lot of fun. Good mix of hands on stuff for the kids and small enough hands off museum for the kids to walk through without getting too restless. Wide enough areas to walk around with a stroller which is convenient and would be very easy for wheelchairs. The Dr. Seuss museum was very well done. The artwork inside and the decorations were great. You really felt like you walked into his world.

Rhonda Andreani

We had a blast on our visit to the Springfield museums. The Dr. Seuss Museum is only one part of the museum campus. It was a lot of fun to explore the Dr. Seuss Museum and also the Dr. Seuss Sculpture Garden. You can also visit multiple art museums and a couple other museums. When we went there was an exhibit called toys that was a lot of fun with lots of interactive parts! Our daughter is 10 and she loved everything about our visit to the museum campus.

Godfrey Redfearn

We spent about two hours here. The Museum has 2 floors and a basement. There are elevators, and very clean restrooms. Our 6 and 9 year olds loved the play areas, especially the bakery. (Most of our two hours was spent watching them have fun with the hands-on displays.) Great photo ops with models of book characters and scenes. Interactive screens with rhyming and vocabulary games. Interesting historical displays that reveal quite a bit about the author. Downstairs is a large arts and crafts room led by a very nice staff member. (We made hats out of newsprint.) There’s a small corner with a rug and books where parents and kids can read. The gift shop is located in the welcome center and has items related to all the museums. The Dr. Seuss section is surprisingly sparse, with a very small selection of books, tee shirts, plush characters, and related items.

Nadine Barnett

Great for kids and kids at heart. Best of the Springfield Museums. Get here early as admission is timed. Then see the others if you want.In great Dr Seuss fashion, the museum is bright and colorful and full of hands on activities as well as memorabilia. Fun and interesting for both children and adults.

Geared for the younger kids, although I did enjoy reading some of the letters written in the Ted2Ted section. The colors in the house were bright and whimsical. The sculpture garden was small, but enjoyable. We also went to the science museum and Springfield History Museum during this visit. I think our favorite experience was the Toytopia exhibit. Lots of hands-on activities and a display of lots of toys through the decades. Fun and Nostalgic.

Loved touring this museum. In addition to his great works, you get to learn about him and how he came to be the great Dr. Seuss. Brings back childhood memories. I highly recommend visiting if in the Springfield area.

Oh, the Places You'll Go! The Dr Seuss Museum is a must visit when traveling through Springfield. From the second you walk in it feels like you’re in a Dr Seuss world from the colorful walls to cool games it’s a blast of fun for all. Upstairs you can enjoy reading and looking at the life of Dr Seuss.

I feel bad knowing the museum had changed the Dr Seuss exhibit from how Dr Seuss created things. Rewriting history does not change it. Sad.

Nichole Shockley

Very kid friendly and fun for adults too

Mike Davis

A trip down memory lane for those who can remember Cat In The Hat era.Two floors or more of memorabilia to soak it in - my 45 minutes stay didn't do it justice. Weekdays are best as the crowds are smaller, weekend 200 people from locals talk are allowed every 30 minutes for Fire and Safety reasons. Go without hesitation, you will not be disappointed after the long drive.

Very kid friendly. It's a shame that you have to buy a $25 ticket for 2 kid friendly museums and 2 art museums.

Cameron Tylek

The Dr. Seuss Museum has a lot to offer both kids and adults throughout its 3 different levels. The first floor is dedicated to children as each room is brightly decorated with familiar Dr. Seuss scenes, characters, and artwork. There are interactive touchscreens, hands on activities, climbable exhibits, a pretend bakery, and plenty of books to read. The basement level has an arts and crafts center with different things for children to make and take home. The top level is a true museum dedicated to the life, history, and legacy of Dr. Seuss. The exhibits include actual items, artwork, and photographs from Theodore Geisels life including his childhood. If you or your children are fans of Dr. Seuss this museum is a great place to visit. There is enough stuff to keep children entertained for roughly 30-45 minutes.

Aaron Little

Something here for everyone. Reading and activity rooms downstairs, lots of 'life size' sculptures of your favorite characters perfect for selfie taking on the main floor, and personal possessions, letters, and family heirlooms upstairs. Very nice collection and fun for all ages. Large sculptures in the sculpture garden are also perfect for photographing. 3 other museums here to explore as well. 2 fine art museums and a science museum. All for the one entrance fee.

Gia Mendez

Love it

Sabrina Walley

Great place to go for kids and adults alike! Multi-level museum. NOTE: If you buy your tickets in advance, you still have to go to the "main museum" to get your wrist band and ticket. The basement has a room that has crafts for kids, so that can be good for parents if you want your child to sit for 10-15 minutes. It wasn't as busy as the website made it seem (we went Saturday if labor day weekend at the time of opening).

Gail Ketchum

My grandchildren loved it

Any kid would have a blast here. So many museums, there is something for every age! A good chunk of springfield history is here, and it is represented very well! The staff is usually friendly and it's always very clean. Honestly, the only downfall for me is gift shop prices! If you have never been, plan to spend an afternoon.. there is a lot to see & learn!

Michael Towle

The museum has a amazing display of dr. Seuss memorabilia an awesome for your children

This Museum provides a beautiful picture of the life and development of Dr. Suess. Both children and adults will be entertained and fascinated by the many exhibits and DIY classes.

12:30pm Jul 29th we drove 3 hours from NH to go to the museum. The museum attractions themselves and history is great, as far as the “security” is laughable. Exceptionally disgusted. We were waiting for the rest of our party of 17 (spent tons of money here) to arrive in the ticket waiting area and we were told by the lady “security guard” that my 1 1/2 yr old was screaming too loud, excuse me but we were there for 5 minutes and he was very excited. You ma’am are a joke and should be ashamed of yourself. How dare you say he can’t express himself in a children’s museum.

A fun place to learn about the history of Dr Seuss and see it come to life. We spent a short time in the museum and it was a bit much for our 2 and 3 year old. Parts were fun for them and other parts that were interesting to the adults had little for the kids. The fee for entrance gets you into all 5 museums but it's not worth paying if you just want to visit this one.

Moriah Daniels

My Boys love coming here lots to do and learn for the kids

Joyful to be among the Seuss characters sculpted and colorfully molded? forms. Enjoyable for kids and even more for adults also interested in the author/illustrator's life. If you are young, go. If you are retired and once loved Seuss's stories, definitely go.
