DESCRIPTION

We have all the information of real people like you who use the services and products of Salem Pioneer Village (Museum) in Massachusetts.

At the present this business has a rating of 4.0 stars out of 5 and that rating has been based on 92 reviews.

You may have noticed that its rating is quite good, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the score is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they are satisfied with the business, it works.

As you know, we do not usually stop to write scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

This Museum is included in the category of Historical place museum.

It would be nice if hours were posted somewhere other than the front gate so people wouldn’t waste their time coming down here only to find out that it’s closed.

Cute little place. Needs a lot of TLC. I helped set up the pumpkins for lanterns in the village as a fundraiser for PBIS. Salem is getting crazy for Halloween

If you do "The Witch House" tour, ask for the "Salem Pioneer Village" tour, you will get village tour for free. When we did this tour, our tour guide was the only worker there. He did a fantastic job giving the history, but I thought there would have been much more going on. This is not the really village, this was built in the 1930 to show the history of the area. I still recommend stopping by and doing the tour.

Disappointed, messy, no living history going on when we went. Could have been really neat. Too bad :(

We did an evening storytelling tour here and it was awesome. All the storytellers were great, but there was one woman in particular that really stood out. My wife and her brother came back later in the evening to do the haunted house-like tour they offer, but they said it was too dark to see most of it.

Closed for repairs. Place looks pretty rough. Hope they get it back up to where it should be.

Big disappointment! These people need to get their act together. I called several times (recorded message with Witch House Hours) & emailed (no reply). The website said they had tours at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and said tickets ($6) could be purchased at the gate in Forest River Park or the Witch House. At Witch House they confirmed tour times & said admission was free with Witch Museum ticket ($8.25). We arrived at the gate for the 2:30 tour, others were waiting, nobody ever arrived to give the tour.

I really enjoyed their halloween event, but I feel the place needs some tlc. It has lots of potential and interesting history. With some community support it could be a mini plimoth plantation.

Surrounding area is nice, but the village is apparantly just a replica from the 30s. Wasn't open when I went, but not interesting enough to check out again

Wanted to go for years, finally went for Spice Festival, found it disorganized, uninformative and disappointing. So much could have been done to make this a unique experience. It's just a shame to waste such an opportunity.

Jen George

It's little and quaint and easy to access with free parking.

For you Hocus Pocus movie fans, this is the place they used to film Thackery Binx village.

A must see, if you can find it open. It's always hit or miss for us. Great for the history buff or to see how our pioneer ancestors lived .

So cute! Not always open but cool to look at anyway, and a nice public park near by.

Great experience to go, but so commercialized.

Don't even waste your money. First none of the employees knew when exactly they opened. Then they opened and the guy informs us that there is no charge just a 3$ donation. Okay seems cool except when you walk in try to use the only bathroom which is a porta potty and it looked liked it should have been emptied months and months ago. Obsolutly disguisting. Then we learn that none of the employees showed up so there was no tour. The village was not up kept and there was trash everywhere! Hard to feel in the moment with Mountain Dew cans. Also no fact cards or people dressed up to explain. Especially since they used this village for hocus pocus they could use so many of these aspects to make a great area instead it's a dump.

Juanita Roberts

So quite, such tiny houses, will go again

Are your kids old enough to be interested in history? Salem Pioneer Village is a great part of a day trip. This is a reconstruction built for a film, but well researched and maintained. The location is small and rustic, perched on a pretty spot overlooking Salem's harbor. It is small, and easily walked though not great for wheelchairs. Spend an hour or two, then head up the road for other Salem sites like the House of Seven Gables and the various sites related to the witch trials. Parking is limited. I have only been there off season so not sure if parking is free or not, since October is a big time of year in Salem. Wear comfortable shoes. Site is small but gravel paths will be more comfortable for sneakers.

Lucked out with a private tour. Excellent information from a committed guide. Really appreciated the opportunity to envision the first years in North America for my ancestors!

Cool place to see how settlers really live. Love the butter churn. New construction going on, can't wait to see what is new. Great actors and also awesome ducks in the nearby pond. Highly recommend you check this out for both tourists and locals alike. Ask for discounts on large group packages. Great for field trips, company trips, etc. Five stars! A+!

Unfortunately it was close due to construction when my wife and I visited Salam. The nearby park was nice and we took a stroll but I definitely would of liked to check the village out. Pity.

Entirely unprofessional. Agreed to be a venue for an event and then cancelled 4 days prior to the date. Do not recommend.

(Translated by Google) A place, perhaps because in restructuring, banal and frustrating. We asked ourselves: why have we been doing all these kilometers for something so ugly and useless? Love this place, an evocation of what Salem might have looked like in 1630. Off the beaten path, and not well known among tourists, which is unfortunate. Take a break from the touristy downtown and visit Pioneer Village.
