I was surprised to see this museum in small-town Mansfield, MA. One would expect it to be located in a larger city, and in one more commonly associated with African-American history (e.g., Atlanta, Montgomery, Memphis). It thus caught my attention, so I decided to give it a try. The staff was delightful; one of their daughters took a particular interest in showing my kids around and explaining the significance of the different dolls. It seemed my kids enjoyed the experience as much as I did. It is certainly worth it.

I love all those dolls. They all remind me when i was small.

It's a little off the beaten path, but it's very interesting place and worth the effort to visit.
