The museum was great, as were the building historians and the view of course. Lunch was another story. The food was bland and the service was slow. The menu states that sandwiches are served with fries or a side salad. I chose the soup and half sandwich option, that was in the same section on the menu and cost the same but was told fries or salad didn't come with my meal. I was told I could get the salad for a couple dollars extra but was charged 4 dollars extra.
Such a special place. They're doing it the right way here. Honoring all those who came before us.
It's so beautiful! Such a gorgeous view
Very pretty
Nice relaxing place with views & food
Nice
Absolutely beautiful. A must see
The 2019 kite festival was fun. Wind was intermittent but lots of kites made it into the air. Very family friendly. Did not visit museum during this visit.
I attended my granddaughter's wedding there it was absolutely beautiful breathtaking scenery however the service was very slow it is not handicapped or disabled friendly I would recommend it to my friends and family
Absolutely beautiful place, stunning views of the Nashua River Valley and local mountains. The cafe is a lovely break between visits to their numerous museum galleries. Also a phenomenal place representing the often under-appreciated Native American history in this region.
Gorgeous views, and great event space
Great cyclocross race! Thanks for hosting it. Excellent place to visit!!
Loved it! Friendly knowledgeable staff! Beautiful museum exhibits and grounds!
The view was amazing!
A lovely place to go for a picnic and walks asking the trails. The buildings are also interesting and a few crafts and things to get kids interested especially in the art and native Indian stuff. Nice gift shop and lovely restaurant. Fab views too!
Attended a wedding event here, a very beautiful and scenic place for an outdoor wedding.
This place was excellent. It was very secluded. My reason for being there was because my brother was writing a history paper. And I didn't expect it to be so interesting! The people there are very knowledgeable about each sanction there running and there's alot of open space to walk around and a place to hike!
Lots and lots of mosquitos, bring repellent. Didn't try the food but it's around $12 a plate, the people are all very nice. I think the $6 pp price for just walking the trail should include the repellent, $15 pp is a bit much $12 pp is a more reasonable price.
Unique museum. wonderful cafe and great views. Very relaxing experience.
Attended the summer evening band concert, very enjoyable, lovely setting.
I attended a wedding here. Lovely venue. Great food. Spectacular views of the Wachussett Valley.
Great place to visit
Great place to come visit and see all the fruitlands has to offer.. they are always having different events and fairs that you can attend as well as some of the best grounds around.. beautiful views constantly changing programs and a chance to see nature in it's best light. Great place to bring the family and reasonable in price
Awesome place to hike with small kids.
If you like6 yo learn about radical vegan communities, new approaches to education, native culture, and long walks through beautiful trails this is the place for you. Loved my time at this place.
It was all good, except when I went to leave at night. It was pitch black and no lights to see the path back to my car
This is a little gem! Have brunch or lunch overlooking the valley and enjoy impressionist art, an eclectic collection of Native American artifacts and clothing, a Shaker cottage and -- the house where Louisa May Alcott, her mother and sisters lived through a crazy season as Fruitarians.
Beautiful view
Gorgeous. Great place to keep visiting
I don't think it's a good place. I wated 1 hour for my food not quick service at all and sorta boring. In my opinion I did not like it
Great view very relaxing to walk around have a picnic, read a book and enjoy the museum's..
Great place to have lunch
Unique museum with eclectic collections. Worth the trip.
Beautiful grounds, fantastic museums, definitely worth checking out.
What a beautiful view this place has. Sitting outside and being able to see the mountains...you just can’t beat the view, which is really the main reason to go here. Their menu is very limited. While they offer some unique dishes for breakfast, I’m surprised they don’t offer at least one generic staple (like an all-American breakfast, as they have all of the items for one) or waffles or pancakes (even crepes if they wanted to stay in the more unique lane). I would’ve given 5 stars if the menu was just a bit more versatile. However, my avocado toast was great. Fresh sourdough toast and delicious bacon.
The historic museum was a wealth of information and the pictures and artifacts were amazing. The gift shoppe was bustling with customers and offered a wonderful selection of items for sale. If you the chance to go there for an event or just as a local attraction please do go. I've attended a Fourth of July party and a special event highlighting owls. Both were fantastic.
Got married here last October. Despite the surprise northeaster with tons of rain and wind, it was an absolutely flawless evening. Tim, the wedding coordinator, was attentive, responsive, and handled everything perfectly. It was magical how we went from an outside plan to a gorgeous inside tented ceremony. The staff were absolutely wonderful and I never waited or wanted for anything. Completely stress free and beautiful. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
Fruitlands is a truly majestic spot for nature and art lovers. Several wonderful trails laid out for hikers, each just under a mile. The two art gallery's include well known artists including native American art. The outside bronze Indian sculptures are exquisite. So much to see!
What an amazing place! The views are beautiful and the carefully maintained artwork and property is incredible! They also have a summer concert serious that is awesome! Its Thursdays night and they have a band and food. It's a fun adventure for a Thursday night!
Butifule place
Beautiful venue. I went for a wedding and reception during the fall with breathtaking views and romantically designed space. Secluded area but worth the drive.
Went to a family wedding there. Such a beautiful scenic place. Food and everything was just wonderful. Best wedding ever!
Did not find fruit
Wonderful place, diverse, interesting!
The view here is amazing. We visited this weekend and were surprised once we arrived that it was international fiddle day. There were multiple areas with people jamming out. There's a few trails that immerse you in the woods; bring appropriate shoes!
Always a great place to go for history. Also best view in eastern ma.
Beautiful venue and very helpful and friendly staff.
This is one of my favorite stops
I Havent been inside since I was a kid, however I relayed the house next door and I can tell you the road this place is on has an incredible veiw.
Beautiful location.
Several different small museums. I especially liked the original farmhouse and all the information on the Alcott family's very short stay there. The experiment broke up when Mrs. Alcott got tired of doing most of the work while her husband's co-founder was urging him to leave his family. The cranky co- founder didn't believe families supported his concept of the ideal society. There was a small Shaker house where the latest version of "Little Women" was just filmed. The Native American museum had some very interesting artifacts, pottery, clothing and totem poles. The gallery of botanical prints was pretty boring, especially since there were also botanical prints in the Shaker house. The first museum near the top of the hill has Shaker and similar modern furniture, Hudson River school of art paintings, and miscellaneous items from the collections of the woman who founded the museums. The complex was on a big hill with the farmhouse at the bottom, but there were shuttles to take people from one stop to another. My Fitbit was very happy that I didn't take it.
Gorgeous vistas, rustic environ without any crowds. That's a rare combination unless you hike up a hard mountain. But that's what Fruitlands provides. The tours here give a nice historical view into how things were over a century ago when this place was considered radical.
My cousin had her wedding here. Very accommodating. Buy the honey!
You can visit once
Wonderful location, informative & friendly guides.
The main reason for going was the Indian display and this part was not open at the time that I went.
I didn't visit the museum but 4th of July is great here
Walked on the trails and saw the foundation of an old farm on the trail. Beautiful day. Great view from the top of the hill. Museums are great--Native American museum is fabulous
Great food at the Fruitlands Museum Café and wonderful view.
Very interesting place to visit friendly helpful staff
Helpful friendly staff... I loved the new exhibit where we dressed in period clothing and the nice woman took our picture..:) breath taking view more enjoyable in the summer..
Fruitlands is such a nice place to go for a hike, wander the museums or have a bite to eat in the cafe. A wonderful wedding venue too!
I feel that it is always a magical and enriching experience when we visit here. We came for a star viewing party and it was so fun! Even though it was not a super clear night, we were able to see Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and some distant binary stars that appear purple and orange to people with normal vision. The enthusiasm of the astronomers who were sharing their telescopes was infectious. Be sure to use a ton of mosquito repellant as I got eaten alive even through my leggings. My kids did not get bitten because I was more generous with the repellant on them.
Eclectic historical and artistic collection. Take some time to talk with the knowledgable docents.
Beautiful venue and view. Especially for sunset.
Nice way to spend summer afternoon. The collections include many historical artifacts from different periods. The local guides filled in the background detail on the collection not included in the signage. The only downside is the big hill. Since it was a free Friday parking was at the top only. They did have one golf cart to help folks from the bottom of the Hill back to the top. However I did not take the ride (of shame) as the capacity was very limited.
Transcendent location looking out to Mt Wachusett, great trails, excellent cafe, wonderful collections.
Great treasure trove of new England 19th century history.
Nice quiet place to spend a Fall weekend. The houses are small enough for a quick visit. Breathtaking views.
This place is great, go check it out and bring the kids.
Great place for kids and adults. Lots of interesting and diverse exhibits and spectacular setting
Wonderful place to have a wedding!
Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful area, very interesting museum and hiking paths.
น่าเที่นวดีนะครับ
We'll definitely be back for the fireworks
Kids will love it.
Beautiful views, lots of historic insight into the Transcendentalists, and an exceptional lunch. Next stop the Old Manse, part of the Transcendentalists movement. The Trustees do an excellent job of preserving people and places.
History, with all it's quirky people and places.
Large area to explore. Many buildings and areas to walk.
Interesting history and art in the buildings, beautiful grounds, and a few miles of very pleasant trails in the surrounding land with woods and some meadow.
Lovely venue!
Love this place. Fast service, always great food quick.
Creative and tasty lunch menu, interesting museum buildings, beautiful views of surrounding areas.
A fantastic means to get a dose of local culture, and well tended to by informed and enthusiastic employees. Don't forget to ask about the Atlatl in the Native American exhibits!
Kids learn how to spell
Beautiful views, went to a wedding here it was very nice
Interesting place and the grounds and view were beautiful
We went to our nephew's wedding. It was beautiful! The view is amazing!
Fruitlands open season is April 14th
Beautiful grounds and excellent musuems.
There was an arts and crafts fair here today. We seen vendors here that we have not seen before. Unlike so many other similar shows there few duplicate products and even those were unique in their own way. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The best 4th of July fireworks display. We drive 1.5 he's to see them with our grandchildren.
so beautiful sunset site
LOVELY PLACE
Must visit during fall foliage , beautiful
Great museum and because it is up in the hill so it is great to catch sunset there!
Great food & view. Museums are also interesting.
Great place! Very family friendly, and has lots of cool history!
Great place to visit and walk around
We hosted our wedding here and it was simply wonderful. Beautiful venue, amazing views - and the staff was professional, easy going, helpful, and overall made wedding planning such a smooth and pleasant process.
Lovely setting for my sister and brother- in-laws 50th anniversary celebration!
Wonderful displays and exhibits with hands on interaction in some. Kids found it boring, but i was enthralled. Staff is well informed and entertaining. Nice restaurant with excellent views. Various nature hikes, events and entertainment opportunities. Will visit again without the kids soon!
Beautiful countryside, great museum.
Picturesque place. Interesting history
We’ve captured two weddings here so far, in two different seasons on days with different weather and both weddings were downright magical. The view on the hill at sunset is a total dream, and the rest of the property has too many photo ops to count! Gorgeous place to get married with a very “New England” feel.
Beautiful space for a wedding.
We had a mostly
Beautiful venue for a wedding
The mosquitos are real bad at night.
Beautiful views, interesting history
Great 3rd /4th of July events.
Intressante Details über das Leben der Shaker, Indianermuseum und historische Wohnbauten. Sehr nette Mitarbeiter die einem sehr viel und gerne Auskunft über die Geschichte der Farm geben.
Very informative location. Will bring friends here again.
Beautiful museum overlooking the mountains with an excellent outdoor cafe. A popular venue for weddings and other special occasions
The most amazing views. Wonderful place to walk, see the museums, and sit afterwards in the restaurant to relax.
Great fireworks.
I attended a wedding here. Beautiful site for both service and reception.
Wonderful food and views. The museum buildings are amazing as well.
Great view. Cafe is outstanding.
Check out my review and photos from the trip I took yesterday (7-17-2017). Search for pholdmonkey or William Sylvester or Pholdmonkeyzine on the internet, it's all good even the mistakes (haha) :-) no fake images or cgi's just me sharing my stuff
Awesome place...
It was okay, not my style of stuff but the guides seemed to know a lot and were helpful
