We found out years ago while researching our family tree that my husbands 12xs great grandparents had this house built and it has been on our bucket list. We finally got there and LOVED it. So much history packed into one home. My kids 5-10, my husband, our friend and myself all found it to be so interesting we've been talking about it ever since we left. The docent was very knowledgeable and a wonderful conversationalist. We even got to meet the curator and speak briefly with him, this was a treat.

As a 12th Great Grandson of Grace & Jonathan Fairbanks. It was fascinating to hear the stories of my ancestors. As you walk through the door, you step back in time to see how the Fairbanks lived and grew. It's absolutely beautiful.

The Fairbanks House in Dedham is a marvel of survival: a house built in 1636, and largely intact almost 400 years later. Perhaps more astounding is the fact that it is still owned by the Fairbanks family. Thanks to Daniel Neff for a fascinating tour and for letting us peek into spaces not usually permitted to the public.

AMAZING tour from Sharon. Tons of history to see here, not just Fairbanks history, but American history too. Very well maintained house that spans generations back to the founding of Dedham. You can see and hear about what life was like from 1636 all the way up to 1904 with the Fairbanks family home. Definitely worth a visit!

(Translated by Google) The oldest house in the United States: 1636! We visited it twice. The guides are great and very welcoming. An association takes care of the garden which is faithful to what it was at the time. To have !!! (Original) La plus vieille maison des États-Unis : 1636 ! Nous l'avons visitée 2 fois. Les guides sont formidables et très accueillants. Une association s'occupe du jardin qui est fidèle à ce qu'il était à l'époque. À voir !!!
