We have been to the tavern before, but today was the Stories in Stone cemetery tour. This is a DO NOT miss experience. Our guide June was incredible!!

Had a really cool exhibit upstairs...very unique!

This is a walking tour through the Tavern where you listen to a recording on a phone like recorder. It was pretty good, however, $10 a person is a bit steep. And it is not kid friendly. Kids get board and begin to wonder talking and walking around on the squeaky flooring makes it hard for others to hear. So, be sure to keep your kids with you and quiet!! There are activities up stairs for kids at the end of the tour. There is also a speaker outside in the Lexington Common area with a wealth of knowledge and information.

Purchased as part of the Boston Go card. Was a great perspective of the battle at Lexington from the Tavern. It is a self-guided audio tour with an interactive area upstairs that melds history with modern day social networking. My youngest (9) was done with the audio tour by the final room (#5), but had a blast upstairs. Overall it was lots of fun. I would definitely suggest using the Go card.

Great history. You should visit. It is great for any history fan. It was an important part of the organization of the Lexington militia. This place was where the revolution was conceived.

Great place for those interested in history. Gathering place for the local militia (Minutemen) and even has some holes from musket-balls. As some disappointed Google Reviewers have noted, it's not a functioning tavern/bar.

Susan Lee

Excellent knowledgeable staff . we learned a lot.

My tween daughter and I visited in the morning of July 6 - nice walk through of the building. There is an included audio tour which describes all of the items. We did not stay more than 15 minutes, so we used it for one or two items. Be sure not to miss the exhibited original door with the bullet hole (there's an arrow pointing to it). This is included with the Boston Go Card and I recommend the stop.

Awesome self guided tour. They do a great job making the history come alive! You can get a good deal on visiting all three museums which are within walkings distance of each other. We went there for memorial day and it did not disappoint; but I also just love history and it was so cool to be walking right through where it all happened. The staff are friendly, helpful, and informative. A great way to spend a day in Lexington!

Great self led audio tour through interesting exhibits. Rooms well laid out. Enjoyed going through at our own pace as well. During our visit there was an excellent exhibition on methods of communication during the revolution. This was my favourite part of the whole visit.

A must-see stop for any visit to Lexington. It's amazing how many details about 1775 are glossed over during our history classes over the years. We were very glad we took the time to enjoy this tour!

Fun historic house tour. The audio devices for the tour weren't that great, but always good to support history whenever you can!

This was an extremely interesting place. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was fascinating to stand where these great men stood and met so long ago. Surely worth a stop.

We loved every moment from the start to the end. $8 for entry with self-guided audio, or, $12 for combined 2 tavernentry tickets. First, this is a historical old tavern site, not a drinking pub. They have a lift access and a toilet, and, entrance is from the attached store addition. The staff are super friendly ladies and a gent and very passionate and proud of their local history. They ggave us 2 maps. We found that the larger color maonwas useful to explore the area later. The building and the displays are small, but, interesting, comprehensive, and offer hands-on experiences for little ones, too. You will learn a lot about how the signaling of American Revolution happened with beacons, lanterns and horse riders and stories got twisted later by some fake news tellers as the event was told through the brag and the sensational journalism, like today. For the location, this tavern building is perfect start point of the historical visit to Lexington. Parking was easy along the park and the tavern next. (Ignore google map suggestion of parking at a garage blah blah then walk back and forth for several minutes) Don't forget to visit the little belfry site (reconstructed) and the wonderful city library across the park which tells that this tavern was once used as the town's library. The whole old town of Lexington is lovely with lots of bicycle riders, too. I I cannot believe that it is still in metro Boston area, very different and quaint like some continental European town layout to me. You will love this place.

We really enjoyed visiting the Buckman Tavern. Staff are dressed in revolutionary war period clothing and are welcoming and helpful. Park at the depot lot for $4 and get to the tavern with a 5 minute walk.
