REVIEWS OF Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum IN Massachusetts

JJ

It’s got a lot of interesting history regarding the Boston Tea Party. Leaves a little bit to be desired, but interesting to say the least.

Steven Planeta

Learn about one of the most storied events during the late 1700s. The actors told of how the entire event happened from start to finish. There's even a chance to throw a bundle of tea overboard.

Crystel

The worst "museum" ever! In fact the word museum doesn't apply. There are hardly any artefacts to see apart from a crate. The actors do try their best to make the visit lively but this place is definitely not worth the $30 charged.

Jennifer Dow

Lot of interaction! This is a great place for families and a lot of fun while learning.

Christian D'Cruz

Was definitely not worth the $30! The actors were great and it's very family friendly but if you're there to learn about history there was not much to take in. It was more about the actors in character and some small activities then the actually history. I wouldn't really recommend this unfortunately for those wanting to learn.

Zachary Stavros

Amazing experience! Worth the price! The staff is very knowledgeable and the artifacts and presentations are amazing! They have an original tea box from the Boston Tea Party! They make you feel as if you were really there! The movie is very well done (although, it does have some intense drama that might be a little concerning for children).

Becky

This interactive museum is a must do! The whole family (teenager included) loved joining in the raucous town hall meeting and tea throwing. The actors were stupendous! The experience gives you almost a first hand understanding of the emotions that led to the tea party. Afterwards, the tea tasting and snacks on the harbor are a nice way to finish the experience.

Conrad Cheung

Beforehand, I wasn't too sure about this place as it seemed like a lot of money for a 90 min experience. It was totally worth it. The actor/actresses stayed in character and we all learned a lot about what transpired during the Tea Party. The whole experience was like a show and being able to visit actual sized versions of the merchant ships used to haul tea during that time period was a treat. The movie and effects used during the tour was great as well We will definitely repeat this the next time we visit Boston

Ashok P

Every one should visit this place. We enjoyed the reenactment, it reminds us of the history and sacrifices of the Patriots.

Ever Wood-Hannah

This was an amazing experience! I am a huge history nerd and I LOVE the American Revolution and the way they present the Bostin Tea Party and surrounding events was just wonderful! It's immersive history and well-presented.

lesley stones

Excellent place - a great team acts out the players of the era, and they and a couple of videos make it easy to grasp the history. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nikki Schmitt

Have been twice and loved it each time (not a local). Great discussion and interactive media, really a great approach to history.

Michael Hogan

Fantastic walk through the Tea Party and events surrounding. Actors were engaged and thoughtful in their roles.

Brady Dickens

Interactive tour with highly knowledgable and friendly staff. Great learning experience that was entertaining and engaging

Jon Thomas

Fun informational and Interactive. They start with an interactive town hall meeting where you get to understand the history and the reasoning behind the actions and the Rebellion. You then proceed to the ship where a knowledgeable guide walks you through. you actually get to go down into the interior and up and around. Finally you end up in the museum and there are several displays and video that really draw you in and give you an opportunity to learn further information. The entire process is designed to engage all levels of age and fully worth the price.

David Cruzado

This is a dramatic presentation of the Boston Tea Party. It is performed by lively enthusiastic actors who inject humor into their portrayals of the people of Decemver 16, 1773. Get a discount by buying the ticket online.

Rachael Linker

A fantastic (and tasty) historical experience. I love it so much that I got engaged here!

D. Pate

Definitely worth going! We brought our 14-year-old son and he really enjoyed learning about history in a fun way. So did we!

Flic B-T

This was a fantastic tour. The guides stay in character the entire time and make the tour a very interactive experience. We learnt alot with the information they gave us. The way that technology is used within the tour is very clever and used in a way that keeps you interested. Excellent tour and would definitely recommend.

Mary Phillips Blackshear

This was so much fun. You are part of the story.. The Boston Actors are wonderful and children are learning by being a part of the story . Great team of people and you knew that I was truly impressed with our story.

Alexandra Day

I highly recommend taking the tour! My husband and I enjoyed every minute of it. The guides were amazing in character and super knowledgeable. The technology used to enhance the tour was also incredible!

Marina Belokon

The experience was unexpectedly informative and interactive. A fun way to learn about the history of the Boston Tea Party and the events surrounding it with the whole family. There were many kinds of interactive exhibits for different types of learners, and an exciting and welcoming atmosphere that makes you enjoy the tour all the more.

Colleen Geel

omgosh history is kinda not my thing but they had us engaged before the tour even started! interactive role-play and tossing the tea! my daughters (9 & 7 y/o) AND even I made so many educational (and familial) connections...GO MRS. SHEDD!!! Abigail's Tea Room was a bit underwhelming but the tea tasting was cool!

James Jackson

This is an interactive experience with cast members doing great job in character roles. Good combination of exhibits and multimedia shows. Well worth the money for the tour. Restaurant and shop provide good service and value for money.

Jeff Dearman

A fun interactive experience where everyone can experience the tea party and throw the tea overboard. The tea-room is also nice. You become one of the colonists and interact with Sam Adams and others planning to throw the tea into the harbor without getting caught. You then go down and watch a video of the tea-party and see an original chest of tea one of only two that remain. - and then go out on the replica ship. - and get to throw the tea overboard. - They let the kids do it first then anyone else who wants to . Its a fun experience for everyone who loves history or even if you don't.

Ryan Yates

A little bit of money, but it is well worth it. Friendly workers.

Teri Mauldin

A Great experience if you are touring the freedom trail. The experience starts with a interactive meeting with Sam Adams and Boston townspeople. You get to tour replicas of the boats that held the tea , reenact throwing the tea casks over board and try lifting pallets with pulleys similar in weight. The interactive museum is entertaining and the teahouse connected serves amazing scones, a great custom tea blend. as well as blends similar to what was thrown into the harbor.

Karen Jacob

Very cool. They workers there act out what happened in the Boston Tea party. Very cool gift shop too.

Georgia Ipsen

This would be okay if you have kids. I was interested in hearing about the history but not impressed with the method of telling the story - especially for the price.

John Sheehy

Possibly the best tourist gift store in the city and a great place to have a drink. Beautiful view of the city. People working here are very friendly. They have evening events that would be of interest to locals and well as tourists

Jason H

Fun things to do for tourists. Well put together tour

Shawn Eyestone

Great attraction but a bit pricey for a hurried tour of the ship and a series of movies. The gift shop is very affordable and the actors are outstanding. $112 for a family of four still seemed steep, though.

Jim Cole

This isn't a traditional museum as such, you have to pay for the full 1hr+ experience. But you really should! It's an interactive experience where guests take the part of Tea Party activists, led by costumed guides also in character. The guides mix historical fact, story-telling and humour excellently, and make the process of learning about the event very enjoyable compared to a normal museum. The reconstructed wharf and ships are very good, and there are also interesting artefacts to see on the tour as well. Highly recommended.

Nathan Prichard

Fun museum! Been there three times and every time it's been worth the visit! Good for kids and grandparents. Make sure to check out the MA resident and teacher discounts before you go. The tea room was fun too.

Wally Jones

Absolutely top notch historical museum to take the entire family to. Besides the replica ship from back in the 1700's, the other amazing highlight of the tour was the actual tea crate that was supposedly part of the actual Boston Tea Party. I don't know how they actually authenticate it, but if it is legit, it is just incredible and awesome.

Robert Hollis

Great gift shop with interesting touristy stuff. Dis not go into the actual museum part but I could hear the people upstairs having a blast as they where submerged into the time period! Would go back with my family to really “meet” some characters from our national history!

J. L

A little on the pricey side, but a lot of fun and very educational for the family!

Eleanor Daniels

Fantastic interactive museum. Grabbed your interest, actors fabulous

Pamela L

Lots of tea items to purchase - food, tea cloths, tea holders. teas, memorabilia, tea sets, etc. The restaurant is worth going to just for the ambiance. The staff is so nice. A good place to rest and enjoy a cup of refreshing tea. The pastries are delicious as well.

James Madison

We wouldn't have a country without the resistance that came out of Boston. Our american character and personality is exemplified by what happened on that ship.

Elizabeth Solley

This was our favorite thing we did in Boston! The character actors were fantastic, the history was fantastic, and my kids had a blast.

Travis Bouchard

Awesome museum with a great interactive exhibit. The gift shop and tea parlor are also nice. I recommend doing the tea tasting to try as much as you want of the 6 teas that were dumped into Boston Harbor.

Julie Zhu

Ms Beth Parmer really brought the history alive! We had a blast, with speeches, 3D movies, and even movies on oil paint! Highly recommend this museum

Alexander Jake Moreno

One of the best presentations of our country’s history, complete with actors re-enacting the tale of the Boston Tea Party and the following events leading up to the Revolution. Immersive and interactive! Any history buffs or people seeking to learn should not miss this attraction. .

Vikram Karandikar

Must visit place in Boston. Dramatic Enactment is very good. You actually get to know the history. How the tea party lead to war. Museum is nice.

Scott Faivre

My family and I had an absolute blast at the Boston Tea Party ships and Museum! The quality of the exhibits is second-to-none. They do a great job of integrating technology with old-world craftsmanship giving you a true feel of what it would look like and feel like 200 + years ago! The last exhibit within the tour gave me goosebumps! I was ready to go and fight the British!

Chuck Diesel

This is a MUST see when in Beantown! This museum makes US History so much fun. It's one of the best history exhibits I have ever visited. It warrants a repeat visit.

Steven Esposito

Great experience! Going there from Wisconsin was awesome, the staff and tour were great as they embraced and took in everyone in the room. Good environment for kids to adults, fun active to do that lasted about 30-45 minutes. Definitely a must do

Krystyna Donati

Wonderful and entertaining besides being educational. We did not eat there but the bakery goods looked yummy.

Yixin Qiu

Very interesting tour and exhibition experience. A lot of delightful surprises!

Meekash M

The museum tour was really amazing. We got to go on the boat and saw some interesting videos of the events that led up to the Boston Tea Party dumping. They had a case from the event that was passed down generations and remarkable to see an actual box from the event. They also have a tea area where you can relax and have some cookies. They have games to play while relaxing there before or after the tour. Would high recommend this place.

Pups Lover

Very interesting acting! A fun way to learn about the history of Boston and Tea party, even me remembered something! My 5th grader was studying history at class, I'm sure she learned something on this trip too.

Aanchal

Nice walk through America's histrory. Cool experience, especially the museum and the gift shop. Reasonable price.

Paulina Cruz

The whole experience was unique. It made me want to go back and study my American history in middle school. I truly enjoyed learning about the events that lead up to the American Revolution. The staff were excellent. The whole tour lasted for more than an hour if I remember correctly. There were some down time but my favorite part was the movie at the end. I can only give 4 stars because the cheddar and blueberry scones were dry. The cookies were average, but I must say the pastries looked delightful after the long tour! The ambiance at the cafe were also nostalgic.

James Demerse

Amazing wonderful experience with my parents the employees were helpful the tour guide was amazing I would highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in American History. The gift shop was out of this world the food drinks were out of this world. Even as a Historian I had a wonderful time and would come back again.

A wolf

Great museum to learn about the tea party. Very interesting tour too. All of the staff was very joyful and informative. It is definitely great place for families. They also have a very nice gift shop and a place to get tea pastries. I think it is cool that everyone gets a role in the story too.

Mark GARZA

great experience. nice guided tour, more of an interactive play. very well done. tea, food, beer, and snacks available after the hour long tour as well.

Mike Dombrowski

Great experience. Better than I expected. The guides/hosts/actors do a great job, my wife and myself really enjoyed it and I can see how it would be fun for kids too. Great that the experience is focused on history also.

Aaron Spiegle

Very engaging and educational tour and museum experience. Would not say it's worth the ~$30/ adult. Fun to walk on the ship. It's a mix of actors and holograms and videos.

Bradyn Lystrup

If you're spending time in Boston and doing the Freedom trail this stop is one that is worth spending the money on. It will help you understand not only what happened as the facts and let you experience throwing the tea into the harbor yourself but also helps it resonate with you so this part of history becomes a part of you rather than just a story you learned. I took my two year old here and she had a blast. Luckily during the town hall meeting there's points to be loud and chime in so she didn't disturb other patrons while being able to join in some of the fun. Staff is great at remaining in character and keeps the feel fun and historically accurate without being too serious.

Leah-Anne Jensen

Great people working here. Largest gift shop I've been through. Good food. Please stop by here. Super fun.

Claes Brameus

This was a lot of fun. Very interesting. We all hear about the Boston Tea Party but the details and background was a lot of new information for me. No visit to Boston should be without this little gem

Chris Bozer

Wow, what a lot of money you have to drop just to get on the ship. The attraction is so expensive for what it is. There are a dozen other things you can do in this city that are way more reasonably priced. Not worth it.

Quinton Reed

Great experience, kinda long. Perfect for a one time thing. Was surprised at how historically accurate the story was portrayed. Actors were great and stayed in character the whole time.

Jerry Ferguson

It was fun and interesting to see American history reenact

Samantha Rowley

What a great experience! The actors were great, and totally in character. I was surprised by the technology used when we were inside the museum. The video was very informative, and engaging. I visited with 3 kids, ages 7-16 & they all had a blast. Everyone enjoyed throwing the tea off the boat. The day we visited was very rainy, but the experience was covered, so we were able to enjoy it, regardless of the crummy weather. I recommend to all, whether you have kids or not. It was great.

Vasco van Roosmalen

Great experience for adults and kids. The cast is wonderful. A must see and do!

kerem inal

Great cookies! I did not take the tour, but the cafe had a nice view and great tea.

Fernando Cardenas

More fun and informative than I thought. Unique tour experience - kids 9 & 11 liked it. Tour was a little too fast if you like to read everything. Overall a great time.

May Ulrich

We were nervous about the price vs what you get but... It was amazing. Mrs Shedd was our tour guide. There is a movie, tour of the boat, talking pictures, great reenacting, etc. My children loved it and couldn't stop talking about it on the train back home. Can't wait to go again.

Travelling First

Awesome place to visit as a family. Great variation of tea types are there. We really liked the tastes of their teas. Great staff. You can sit there and drink a cup of tea and play some games. Calm and peaceful atmosphere. Museam of Ships is also great. They have a guided tour. Gift shop has a good variety of items. Definitely a place that make you feel go again.

Monique Martin

Shame on you if you do not do this when you come to Boston! This is hands down the best place to learn about the time leading up to the Boston Tea Party! Both kids and adults will absolutely love it! Plus, when you're finished, go in the restaurant to try the same style tea that would have been on the ship. Absolutely Awesome!

Gabor Varga

If you want to learn about the history of Boston and find out what happened on December 16th, 1773 then this is your place. The museum is a bit pricey; however, it is worth the money – the experience is incredible. Not only there are great actors and live enactments, but the team also makes you as part of the show. At the end of the visit you get the opportunity to buy all kinds of teas, and their gift shop has lot of cute items.

AKELLA RAVI

Want to learn what exactly American struggle for independence. How all it protests begin. Visit Boston Tea party.

Keith Gleen

Very entertaining and informative. A great way to experience history

Gacha Gamer

Great place for locals to walk don memory lane. Many remember visiting as kids. Cool for visitors and "yuppies" lol..no offense. Just our local name for ya..Museum.

JJK 1

Our whole group loved it. The actors did a great job making it both education and fun

Allison Connolly

My family was blown away by the museum today. My 7 year old was absolutely mesmerized! The guides were engaging, and as authentic as can be. Every inch of the place was immaculate. We followed up the tour with a lovely lunch in the tea room. I wanted just about everything I saw in the gift shop. Husband and I would love to attend a Tavern night in the future. FYI to parents...there is a bit of a graphic clip involving a battle death in the movie at the end of the tour that scared my 5 year old daughter a little. Nothing a trip to the Children's Museum after couldn't erase! Got the kids in for free with a printout of Home Town Pass online with each adult admission. This is a great take for anyone visiting the city, or for anyone who calls themselves TRUE Bostonians!

Rok Žigon

The best tour/museum I have ever attended. The authenticity and professionalism of the staff and entire tour is really something you should not miss if ever in Boston.

R McQ

Brought my family of four here (12 year old boy, 6 year old boy, and two adults) last Thursday, Oct 3rd during our trip to Boston. At the start of the tour, each person is given a card with the name of a person that took part in the Boston Tea Party and a short description of the individual. You also receive a feather to contribute to your "disguise" for when it's time to "raid" the ship. The tour starts in the meeting room with a reinactment and lots of participation from the patrons. It then moves on to the ship where everyone gets a chance to throw a box of "tea" in the harbor. Then a quick tour of the ship and back on to the dock where there's a pulley system that allows you to get the feel of what it was like to pull 35 lbs of tea up the ships like they did on that night. The actors are very knowledgeable, never break character, and include a good bit of humor throughout the entire tour. The tour then goes inside the museum where there is a short scene done with holograms and you can see a genuine tea box salvaged after being found following the Boston Tea Party. Definitely make sure you take time to go to Abigail's Tea Room after for baked goodies and to taste the teas that were dumped into the harbor. Overall an excellent experience. My kids had fun and both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Eric Tal

Nice guided tour with cosplay actors and a lot of history to be learned. The replica ship and amenities in the tour were great to look at visualize a different scene.

Jonathan Newcom

Really fun experience. I really enjoyed the ship and the historical reenactment. The battle video at the end was unexpectedly good.

Richard Rose

Great time getting to relive the event that led to the revolution, learned a few new things too!

Richard Gowdy

Quality attraction, but too expensive as there is not much to see and they rush you through. Also, after spending $120 on tickets and another $16 on four cookies we were told we could not eat our home-made sandwiches in the Tea Room. I understand the no outside food concept, but it was rather empty at the time. Overall not bad, but cannot recommend it for the price. Sorry.

Christina Kuntz

We were really surprised at this experience. Going in, we thought it was a little pricey, but afterward, thought it was well worth it. The actors seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and thoroughly embrace their roles. We learned the history of this famous event through a live performance, a tour of a replica ship, and a short movie and museum visit.

Gina Girt

Worth the price! The presenters acting ability combined with a natural wealth of knowledge regarding this period of history made this experience fun an engaging. The technology and settings were definitely high quality.

Audra Trout

The experience was good and I learned a lot. The tea at the tea house is good, get the bottomless cup. THOMAS was a great guide and taught us in a fun way and was very knowledgable.

Alex Allard

Loved it! The way the museum works with its actors, animations, etc is awesome! It's great for the smaller kids and the older ones as well :p

Jennifer Weyeneth

Excellent Museum! Loved the re-reactors on our visit June 28, 2019! Touring the ship and throwing tea overboard was a fun experience for my 11 year old. Having tea and scones in the cafe with my older parents, her grandparents, was delightful!

Denise Logue

Okay, I admit, the only reason we did this tour is because it was an inside tour and it was raining. It was almost 2 hours long and it was expensive. Like $30 a person $35 a person not sure, but it got us out of the rain. It was educational, and we did enjoy it after the fact, but going into it I was not happy. It's kind of cheesy, but it was fun and educational, and we ended up of course spending more money in the gift shop, so overall I would only recommend if you need something to kill a couple of hours in case of rain. Just be prepared to pay for it.

J.P. Vallières

Great, not too long, informative with good actors who stay in character while not taking themselves too seriously which makes the experience better.

Angela Holden

The actors make this a lot of fun, even half hungover! I would have liked to have more time to really examine & read the info and exhibits. But it was a fun afternoon.

Maksim Krigmant

It was pretty fun and interesting if you have kids than they will love it,especially when you have to throw the tea bags over the bridge that was the best part. You get to go on a ship and act out a play which was nice. Also there is an act inside they building how we plan to throw over the tea bags. The actors are funny and do ok job in the acting part. Again really fun for the kids.

Richard W

Though the admission is not cheap but it’s an one stop shop to learn everything about the Boston Tea Party. The whole experience includes reenactment, ‘hands on’ experience, artifacts and videos. The hosts are very knowledgeable and funny. I highly recommend this as a family event.

Chris Norton

They reenact the events of the tea party. Great history lesson. Fun experience for the family.

Krista Romero

We had a great time! Definitely worth a stop here. The actors were very engaging!

Melissa Dillon

Absolutely amazing experience for the Boston Dinner Party. Such a great time and delicious food.

Abhishek Pandey

Good recreation of that historic day that triggered American revolution.

Andrew Betts

Actors really bring it to life and the whole thing is exceptionally well choreographed. This agent of the crown thoroughly enjoyed destroying the tea.

Chea Noeun

Was a great experience, lots of history here at the birthplace of America

William Pare

A really cool really informative place that teaches you and shows you some American history that not many people know about. You get to travel on a ship while learning about the Boston tea party and even get to throw some crates into the water for fun. Overall a very good place to visit if you are in the area

Adam Derington

Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum is an amazing experience to reenact a bit of Boston's colonial history for all ages. The experience is enthralling and the actors who perform the roles are some of the best in Boston. However, I cannot in good conscience recommend the site given its tone-deaf treatment of native communities. The use of feathers and the lack of context surrounding the disguises of the Sons of Liberty is another insult to on going mistreatment of native history in Boston. As a historian it pains me to be unable to fully enjoy the site and all it has to offer. I believe some serious thought must be put in to changing this aspect of the tour lest the wrong message continues to be perpetuated.

Martina Madleniger

Great interactive experience with refreshing and funny performance of the actors. I have never been to such a museum before. It is interesting - even persons without any passion for museum-like activities should take the risk and go there. Both thumbs up!

Christopher Dimola

A must see when in Boston, A great reenactment of the Boston tea party, & history of American Revolution.

Shawna Peterson

Eh. The guides were entertaining. But it's not the real boat... We liked seeing the original tea box remaining and the vial of tea left over. Otherwise I'm not sure I'd recommend this for the money. I believe we payed $29 each.

Angel Johnson

Had booked for a specific day through TripAdvisor, showed up to find out that they closed for the day to shoot a scene for a movie. Would have been nice to know before we walked there from the Aquarium.

Himangshu Watts

That was the first Brexit! Nice place. Great choreography.

Robert Obee Tower

Beautiful replica ships. Interesting tour. But they rush you through everything, leaving no time to look around the museum or read the signs. I was pretty disappointed because it is not a cheap attraction. I do not recommend this tour.

Joan Harding

This was one of the best things we have seen/done on a holiday tour. Definitely a must if you are in Boston.

Jessi Miller

More than a museum—a true immersive experience. The cast was spectacular and really got in to the parts they were playing. Great for kids 8+ and adults. Younger kids may be scared by the battle re-enactment at the end.

Jonathan Griffiths II

This is a seriously not quite hidden gem of Boston. Head out back and skip the tour (or not if that's your thing) for endless tea at $4 (or $6 for a souvenir mug), and certainly get a scone with Devonshire cream. They have a great selection of old wooden board games that range from easy to challenging across all ages. It was a great 60-90 minutes for a fantastic start to our date.

Lisa Katz

This experience and museum is wonderful! One of the best in Boston. The acting, reenactments, design of the exhibits, was engaging, exciting, and enlightening.

Brenda Schenck

We went to "throw tea overboard." We loved the amazing history reenactment and ability to sample the same tea varieties after the show. This is a Boston must-see!

Sue Westen

Well done.....high tech meets character actors. Very educational and worth a hour.

Milind Shahane

Good historical spot about American struggle for independence site of Boston tea party has museum, tea shop, tours etc

Sierra Blythe

Loved a new piece of history. Awesome museums with holographic and talking portraits.

Lewis Brown

As a vocal participant in the inserrection, I highly recommend this attraction.

Geoff Fabron

A really well presented experience with guides in period dress taking you through the events of the Boston Tea Party and the early part of the American War of Independence. The ship and museum were well done and the film on the engagement at Lexington was very good. Even the gift shop was well laid out with something for everyone.

chris serra

Was a very fun and educational experience and the gift shop was great

Michael Fink

My wife and I loved the character experience and interaction throughout the museum. We have recommended this tour to several people who have visited since we did. My wife even participated in throwing the tea overboard into the bay. The food at the end of the tour was good and the gift shop is well stocked.

Tina Seanez

Take the tour very informative. Great shop many teas, tea cups commentating Boston Tea party. Model ships also to build.

chris caylor

My wife and I were in town from San Diego, and last min wanted to come to this museum. As a middle school teacher I loved it! The employees were in character and you get to be in character as well! The interaction around the museum is great for all ages, as they made sure to have all the attention grabbers! I even got to throw tea in the harbor! Huzzay !

brad howell

If you're looking to be a part of history, stop by Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum! Interact with actors reenacting the historic meeting regarding the taxation on tea....and then board the ship in the harbor and help dump the tea! Total time is around an hour and it's one that's well spent!

Lawrence Demoret

Excellent reenactment with visitor participation and dated dress by staff makes this an unforgettable experience. Throw tea bales overboard and have a taste of the epic Boston Creme Pie with your tea to round it off nicely. The clam chowder is to die for, too!!

Kevin Werner

Umm...been to many many museums and such over the years. This was hands down the best I have been to. The actors were engaging. The info came easily and entertainingly. Every stop was timed perfectly. Don't let the sticker shock scare you off. We didn't get to everything on the freedom trail, but got to most of it and this was the best.

Sara Albers

Wow! This place was absolutely AMAZING. 100% educational and engaged! The staff is fantastic! They really made the experience. My students had A BLAST throwing the tea into the harbor and the moving pictures and movie in the exhibit was PERFECT! So historically accurate too!

Rob Quickenden

Great place to visit and learn about the historical events leading up to independance day in 1776

Linda Lindan

Good but way overpriced. I discovered coupons in tourist magazines after my visit with $5 or $10 off. Would have liked more time to look at the displays and artifacts in the rooms but we were moved on too fast after each talk or performance. It also would have been good if the cafe served coffee in a real cup and cake on a plate rather than on/in paper! Nicer AND more authentic!

Valerie O'Connell

It was an awesome tour and would suggest it to anyone.

Brad & Cristal Venema

I love this place! The people working the museum stayed in character and were a lot of fun! Our host was hilarious. They did a good job of interacting with us and they had a few hands on things for the kids to try. I learned a ton! And the technology they used was amazing was great. I enjoyed the tea tasting at the end, old fashioned games and running into more characters. The tea party museum is definitely worth the money!

Lynda Simon

Great tour full of information and surprises. We had a large group of adults, teenagers and kids. Everyone learnt lots and enjoyed the hands on experience.

Mark Holzwanger

Great tour and tour guides worth the time to take with you family and friends.

Jeff Johnson

This was way more than we expected. Awesome experience with lots of great history and fun. Good family entertainment. Well worth the price.

Mike Hemingway

Explains the background to the event very well and was brought to life by the excellent cast of actors. Interesting to hear the viewpoint that the rebels would have considered themselves British at the time. To put the 'no taxation without representation' into context, most people in the British Isles would have been in the same boat, as the vast majority did not have a vote at all either. Well worth a visit!

May Thompson

An excellent visit. Interesting and informative actors make you part of the experience. An easily absorbed history lesson. Well worth a visit for all ages.

Lina Ross

AMAZING crew working there. They really make the experience great. I LOVED the different exhibits. Very quick yet informative. About an hour and a half. So so entertaining if you're visiting Boston.

Very family oriented! Kid friendly. You’ll still enjoy your time as a “big kid”, especially if you’re a drama geek or an extrovert. They give you parts to play. Not everyone, just a few small speaking/acting parts. Everyone gets a card as a character and a feather. Awesome keepsake memory. Told some pretty cool stories. They have THE ONLY VIAL OF TEA TO SURVIVE. HOW AMAZING.

A lot of fun and more than just the photo op of throwing tea into the harbor. People are really nice and the tour is very informative. This is especially great for children, but as an adult I had fun as well!

We really enjoyed this museum with customer participation. Initially I was wondering about the price but it turned out to be worth it. Very informative of Boston prior to Revolutionary War.

The entire place is beautiful and elegant. The employees are super polite and competent, and the costumes are amazing! Highly recommend making the trip.

Best money we spent on a tourist attraction in Boston! The reenactment was entertaining and executed very well. This was one of our favorite stops.

what a fun little tour! very audience engaged. learned quite a lot of history!

awesome experience and very very well made museum. it's a little like an interaktive theater, lots of characters come to life and you will learn a lot. well worth the 30$, would definitely recommend!

What America started described with historical truths, makes me ashamed of how our government is self serving and citizens attitude and actions today are too politicized. Pretty much everyone was an immigrant or brought here in bondage. Other than natives but we soon forget freedom is for all. Keep it simple, Golden rule makes us all rich, now live it.

Shellane Demarest

Pretty cool history tour. The guides are submerged in history. They don't break character at all. Lots of good info.

Jesse Van Harlinger

So fun and entertaining! It's a lengthy tour despite the size of the building. Your guided by and actor/actress, encouraged to play along, guided aboard one of the ships, all while given a slew of historic information about the famous event and outcome! And that's not all! Once inside you'll view a couple of heartfelt movies that explains the outcome of the event leading up to the revolutionary war. You'll also get a chance drink teas, mead, and eat scones from the cafe (not included in ticket price). You get alot for the price! The tour is about 70min long!

We thought the actors were amazing and friendly although one asked where we were from and didn't know where Michigan was..hmmm anyway although we did enjoy the whole thing, It was a bit rushed, a little more extra time to explore the ship would be nice, I couldn't get a photo of the captains quarters for my son to keep for his report as we were rushed pretty quick through the bottom. Also it was pretty costly, little over $80 for a family of 3 seems kinda much for being rushed through but over all they did a good job and loved seeing one of the original tea boxes and other things aside for the ship like the moving portraits. Gift shop is terrific and loved the tea tasting area and the old games which they have different ones on the tables to try out.

The highlight of our trip so far. Great cast work. Very clever technology brings the Boston historical scene to life.

Kelly Bartel

Brilliant for kids. Great for grownups. We loved this museum

Rosaura Vidal Mata

The whole thing was good, the actors we're good and quite in character. However it seemed a bit too short for me (both in duration and content), probably best suited for those with children though.

Mame Wood

An amazing experience. It was like participating in History. Kudos to everyone involved.

Joshua Simpson

As a non-American this was a great way to understand the history with England and it's North American colonies

Barbara Jackson

Spent some time there today. It was really good and interesting. Loved that the guides were in character.

Lupco Jakovceski

Certainly very informative but also very entertaining and interactive. The combination of staff and modern technology was extremely effective!

Mary Garhart

The production value here was topnotch. Our guide Alessandra was fabulous and the whole tour was a lot of fun. The refillable tea in the Abigail Tea Room is definitely worth it. Great way to spend an afternoon!

A little overpriced and a lot of standing. A few new details to the story, but..... . However, the tea you can purchase at the end of the tour was interesting and tasty.

The museum is interesting for adults who are interested in history or learn more about the events that made America independent. At the entrance visitors are given the name of the participant of the Boston tea party. You can actively express your emotions that were the participants of those events. And then go to the deck of the ship and leave the boxes of tea overboard the ship. Children who still do not understand anything in history are also interested in shouting with everyone and throwing over the box. All guides are dressed in historical costumes and represent specific historical figures. The museum uses modern, very realistic lighting effects that I have not seen in other museums. I advise you to feel involved in the events of the Boston tea party.
