REVIEWS OF Boston Children's Museum IN Massachusetts

Boston_Mama84

I've been to many children's museums throughout the US and although I hate saying this because I am Boston born and raised, this is my least favorite out of all of them. Over the 10+ years I have been coming here with my nephews, then with my own kids, not much has changed. They have 3 floors of activities to see and do but most people either do not realize the 3rd floor has stuff or they just dont bother because there's not much to do up there. They are very limited with how many kids can do something. It is always overly crowded because not enough spots to be able to do the fun things. Most of the activites revolve around looking, walking or sitting. Kids need more hands on interactive things in my opinion. The play area for ages 3 and younger is great though. My kids and I thoroughly enjoy that area, especially because the rest of the museum can become unsafe for children so young due to all the chaos. The whole place to me is just disorganized. The tall maze that spans 2 or 3 floors is good for the older kids though. Once you hit about 7/8 there isn't anything but the maze to really do and overpriced. Disappointed with this one.

Perfect place to bring your little explorer on a day off. Located on the seaport you can walk and sit down the pier and enjoy the scenery as well.

Anthony N.

Good large children's museum with lots of hands on activities. The kids really enjoyed the basketball ball court and construction areas. Drawback is no food service on site.

Alan Ramos

It's a very great place for children 8 and under. Unfortunately my daughter is about to be 11 and we only really had fun in one section Haha. But from what we did see we realized how good it was for the younger children that were there. So if you have a lot of little kids or even 1, this is a place they would love.

Linda Andrade

Great environment for the children love it had a real nice time experience first time there

Anders Vagner Rostgaard

Great place for children to play. There are things to do for children all the way down to 1 year old. A great place to spend a few hours and let the kids burn some energy. As far as we could see there was a lunch area, but not actually a place where you could buy food. There is stroller parking and plenty of staff to help.

kiran gaddam

Fun and Interesting place for kids. Worth it. Just go

Carl Butler

Was pretty nice. Plenty of things to do as well as learn. Was well worth it.

v

Very fun at here, one only concern is every time it is difficult to find a inexpensive parking spot. And always very crowd in weekends.

Mark Ott

One of the best places in Boston to take your children especially on a cold, rainy or snowy day. If you’re local and think you’ll come back then it’s well worth it to become a member. One of the biggest benefits to being a member is that you get in 1 hour before the museum opens to the public.

Jaysin Boothby

Very cool place. Not too expensive and lots for the kids to do. Easy close by parking.

Tina B

Very fun place for kids an parents too ,lots of different things for everyone to explore

Wai Lo

This attraction is unbelievably fun for the kids. We as parents were having a great time interacting with them. The waterfront views are amazing.

Danielle Hayman

We took three children ages 6, 18 months and 5 months. The baby just enjoyed watching everything especially the golf ball room. His little body was so excited watching the other children play with the balls. The 18 month old had so many interesting things to see he could have played here all day but unfortunately he needed a nap. He especially liked the ball room and spent at least a half hour here. The bubble room was another winner. The 6 year old enjoyed the active activities like the climbing structure, the climbing walls, and playing basketball.

Kevin Bloom

The Children's Museum is a great way to spend a day with the children and to expand their imaginations!!!! There are three floors full of hands on fun and opportunities for all ages to expand their minds. On the bottom floor, there is a section where children can experience the effects of gravity, see how simple machines can work, and generate energy through generators. I have children ages 4, 7, and 13. I went with family who had children ages 1, 3, 8 and 10.....they ALL had a blast and we spent 3 hours there.

tracy sperling

The super heroes day was beautiful. So much happiness. Well planned.

Jayita Barua

It is open 10 to 5. 16$ admission fee. Less for children. Infants and toddlers don't need tickets. Awesome place

Sydney Marie

Loved it here when I was a kid and I still love it now. My son lit up when he walked in. There is always so much to see and do, you can never be bored here. Lot's to learn and definitely worth taking everything in strides and more than one visit. Beautiful water front scenery but freezing if you're taking the train in. I would recommend waiting for warmer weather. Fridays from 5-9 are only $1. Always events going on for kids and adults. Right near down town, the walk is nice in the warm weather. Stroller and storage area and the bathrooms are always clean and kid friendly. You can also have birthday parties here for a reasonable price and while the gift shop is still a bit pricey it is not anywhere near as bad as other places.

Kham Inthirath

We love coming her to easily spend 3-4 hours. The STEM activities and games are amazing. We drive from Worcester to come here because the experience is second to none!

Azel Torres

I would recommend going on the tour of the Chinese house it's very nice

Anthony Sison

My daughter had a great times. Fun shows and very eye opening activities. A definite must for the kids and the curious child within you.

Madeline Murphy

The kids love this place. There are plenty of fun things for them to do such as the climbing sculpture and the various science related rooms. It is a little pricey. We were disappointed that the Japanese house was closed. Also, the snack place was closed down and replaced by vending machines. It would be nice if the children's theater would change the story from time to time. Overall we spent all day there and the kiddies enjoyed it.

Katie Foxx

Amazingly friendly staff. Would highly recommend to bring your children. We spent all day there.

Hilmy B

Definitely recommend if you like visiting children's museums. Had a lot of activities that we had not seen in other museums. Good for kids 3 to teens.

Evelyn Akough-Weir

The kids loved it! It was hard getting them out!

Nansen Alexandre

Beautiful not only for children, for adult as well. The Japanese house is wonderful. Also as Haitian, I found one of my roots, the carnival.

Gary Pyatigorsky

What an amazing museum. All the staff are super friendly, the museum is very clean and all the exhibits in working condition. My son loves going there time after time

Basheer Syed

Lot of fun for toddlers and young kids. Kids stage shows every 1 hour. Good place for kids to spend whole day. You will get 50% off with library pass

Carolina Lannes

The best children's museum I've been to. You could stay the whole day here and not repeat an activity. The central climbing structure is perfect for kids to spend their energy.

Thomas Cushing

For all kids 1 to 100 you will learn fun things to do. There are many hands-on activities to keep little hands and mind busy for hours. Also live exciting exhibits through out the day. You will want to return time and time again.

Takia Toomer

Fun place for kids 8 and under, not much for kids 9-12. Need better planning and work on the the people of color section, offensive.

Ken Jammin

Lots to do. Great activities for kids to enjoy while learning.

John Mccormick

Great place to bring the kids for the day, on the website it says there is food available on site but besides a few vending machines there is nothing else so plan accordingly. But besides the food thing it's a great place to spend the day with younger children with a ton of activities for them to do and keep busy with.

Christina Herman

Amazing experience, my son loves it there, there are so many things to do. He is a toddler and has been a few times, and it is a perfect place to spend the day. From the shows to the bubble room, to the area where movement is studied, its all amazing.

Raquel Amit

Great range of activities and shows to keep little people busy all day if you need to.

Theresa

My nephews love this place. I loved the bubble room. So many great interactive games and activities. Perfect for cold days. I visited this time just to pop into the gift shop and smash some souvenir pennies.

Alena Roytlender

Kids loved. Only we were there on the dollar day... it was insane with amount of people there. Other than that kids had fun.

Ryan Yates

Kids loved it. More than 1 day off fun.

Natassha D

The place had some very good exhibits! It was crowded everyone enjoyed themselves! I just wish they build a McDonald's restaurant on the frist floor lunch room instead of it being just a lunch room we would have stayed longer. But other than that it was great!

Ron Mo

Awesome museum. My kids loved it.

Shawn P.

Awsome place for kids and adults. Unfortunately they jumped on the black lives matter with their section devoted to black people. Really dont all young men use the barber as a rite of passage? I guess only black people do according to Boston children's museum. When this country stops making special attention to different races, racism will be conquered. When government shows exemption to white people in education it causes racism. The Japanese house and heritage was good to learn about. The fact all parts of the museum was written in Spanish making it difficult to find the English was an insult to our forefathers. I wont return.

Dallas Carpenter

My kids, ages 3 and 5 enjoyed the Boston Children's Museum. There was a lot of hands on fun in every exhibit. We spent about 3 hours here but could have spent all day had we wanted to. My son participated in one of the shows they perform. It was cute and the guys running the show were great. They have indoor and outdoor seating for lunch and you can bring your own!! Lockers to store your stuff until needed are only 25 cents. Definitely would recommend.

Alice . Volpe

The kids love this place. There are plenty of fun things for them to do such as the climbing sculpture and the various science related rooms. It is a little pricey. We were disappointed that the Japanese house was closed. Also, the snack …

jill landers

What a great place for kids to explore! So much stuff to play with and to learn. There's multiple places kids can climb and play on. There's this cool water room, a bubble room, a construction room, a dinosaur room. They even have a green screen to make it look like you're dancing with Arthur. Definitely recommend bringing kids there.

Colleen Geel

some great activities for my 9 and 7 y/o. some even got them moving! would be great for a staff member to be around to better engage the kiddos and explain the activities in which they are participating. kind of like a 3-floor playground, children running room to room...CHAOS

rohan kalyan

This place is having wonderful learning and play area for kids of all ages. They get involved in all the games were science is involved and learn while playing. Awesome experience for my kid

Mandee Tafel

This is our second time going and they have been making some good upgrades. The bubble exhibit was closed for matinence so that was a bummer, but my son always has a lot of fun here. Get discount coupons from the library and save some money on admission.

Rachel Malec

So much fun. You could stay here for hours. A great place to take a break during our medical visit for my son at Boston children’s hospital. Burned off energy and added a ton of fun!

Neethu Shiv

My daughter liked bubbles play area a lot, story time with audience participation is excellent...love to go again

J. L

If you're in Boston, a definite excellent stop if you have little ones. Definitely recommend for kids 12 and under to spend a couple hours having fun and learning.

Miguel Cruz

The children's museum is beyond amazing for the kids. Fun activities and lots of it. It gives kids the freedom to roam the sites levels. Many different rooms with intricate activities expanding their imagination as well as delivering a positive educational experience. If you're out with the kids in Boston this is an absolute must.

Kera Cachia

Great place for all ages spent all day at the museum awesome So much to do i recommend the bubble room

Ram Yadav

Too many interactive games for all age group... My son loves going there.

Ü Lee

It was great for our 2.5 yo. She lost herself in the jungle gym looking thing on the ground floor. She made it to the top but couldn't get down because so many groups of kids from school kept going in, and she kept getting disoriented. It was too small for any adult to get in(some tried and became blockages inside). Eventually, my husband asked a staff to open the emergency exit on the third floor, and she finally made it out. She spent probably an hour trapped in there, 40 min at the bubble room, and we went out to get some lunch. After returning from lunch, the place was fairly empty. (best time to visit?) Overall it was lots of fun.

ahelili83

So many exhibits and fun things for the kids to explore. It was definitely worth the trip. Find a garage that validates if you can.

Silvia Alejandra

I love this place, I could stay here for hours.

The Wolf

Very low value for money for our 1.5 year old. 54 dollars to get in just wasn't worth it (2 adults, 1 child), not even close. Should have stayed outside and used the park which is free.

Elena Baron

Great place for kids of all ages. Can be very busy on the rainy weekends. I took one star off because I feel they need to tailor more for younger kids. Toddler gets a line on the busy days. Also. They open at 10am. The big chunk between 10 and 5pm is lunch and a nap for a toddler. I would prefer to be leaving the museum by 10:30-11am. Instead they just open. I think they should consider to bump their ours to open at 9am or even earlier.

JKCGD

One of the best places in all of Boston to which you should bring your children. We have been members in the past and now we go whenever we have friends in town with children. The staff is amazing, the shows, the permanent and temporary exhibits are always entertaining for both kids and adults! They are only missing a more welcoming and spacious eating area.

Laetitia Mbiye

Great place for kids! My daughter and her pre-k class had a blast. The water walk with an amazing view of Boston is awesome too!

Wayne Martin

You and your children will enjoy the experience.

Oktay Hatipoğlu

Fun fun fun. I want to be a kid. They are lucky. Play and learn is wonderful.

Stephen Saenim

The old Japanese house inside the Children's Museum is pretty interesting.

Brittany Teague

My five year old loved it! The climbing wall was definitely one of his favorites. He would have spent all day on that if we would have let him. Constant moving and interacting.

Stuart Cook

At the end of the Parliament Street Bridge, there is a huge 40-meter bottle next to the Pier Museum, which is now a symbol of Boston. This bottle has been donated to the Children's Museum in 1977 and has become an outdoor food stall. It is followed by one of the largest children's museums in the country. The four-floor exhibits cater to children of all ages, from toddlers to toddlers and older children. Most of the exhibits are touchable and all exhibits offer a learning experience. The museum has a Japanese silk merchant's house showing the authenticity from Kyoto, Japan; there is also an exhibition about multiculturalism, which is the first of its kind; there is a showroom called "Grandmother Loft" in the museum. Children can try on a variety of fine clothing; there are also many special exhibitions, things and performances.

Pups Lover

Good place for young kids to play. On certain Friday, admission is only $1 after 5PM, check their website.

shanice london

Lots to do and see. Great experience for my kids. I love that Friday's are $1. I wouldn't have been able to go if it weren't for the discounted parking, great plus! Thank you BCM

Nick Sorvillo

Just an amazing museum for the kids. Highly recommend. The Japanese house was amazing.

Eric Cephas

Lots to do and see! There's a public park (Martin's Park) adjacent to the museum which is totally awesome for kids too!

Michael Cox

We went with our 2 and a half year old. He absolutely loved it. We spent three hours there and I don't think we went to half of the areas. He definitely could have spent more time in each area, but we persuaded him to see what else was there. We would definitely go again.

Gail DiBona

Not as spacious or exciting as the pictures show but definitely worth a trip. My Granddaughter loved it and just asked me if we could go back.

Ghazaleh Vahdati

Waste of money! They offer almost nothing for 14 month old but they charge you 17$. And I don't understand why should I pay 17 as an adult to go there with my baby? What do they offer you for 17$? We paid almost 55$ ( two parents and one baby) and my baby just crawling 30 minutes on a not properly cleaned mat.

Saif Al-Enizi

Wonderful time for our 16 month old son. I had a great time myself. Definitely a unique experience. Have been there multiple times, already got a membership.

Samuel Watson

Great place to take a young kid for a few hours. Please be advised that there is no onsite parking. The museum does recommend various nearby parking garages and lots. Martin’s Park is nearby, and definitely drew the attention of my younger sibling. There are weekend specials and exhibitions so make sure to check those before visiting!

Manju Nagpal

Nice place for kids to learn as well as have fun.

Teresa Hynson

It's always good time for all ages even adults

Chicklassique !!

Excellent if u haven't gone before. Great for 0-3 year olds. There is a designated area. The exhibits haven't changed in years so my 9 year old is bored. There isn't anywhere to buy food. McDonald's then Panera and the Hood bottle are gone. They have lunchroom with tables and chairs with 2 vending machines. Also water fountains. They have brochures that have a list of restaurants close but they aren't cheap or kiid friendly. No parking. Discount price parking garage. MBTA IS $5 BOTH WAYS FOR 1 adult $1 Fridays long lines. Can't get in until 5 exactly. Kids and adults are borderline rude. Very congested.

Zach Campbell

Great place for kids of all ages. I wish they had posted online that their 3 and under zone was closed for renovations but we still had fun

Sandrine Dabernat

A little too old, too many people. Only one elevator for a big crowd with strollers! I recommend for very young kids. I went on a free day. Good otherwise i would have regretted my money.

Kranthi Talamarla

Enough activities to engage little ones. My daughter loved the place. Half a day can be easily spent here. It is little expensive as the tickets have to be purchased for adults also. Though this is a children's place, adults are charged more than children.

Jonathan Caplan

Very well designed and engaging exhibits. Lots of freedom to explore and learn. My 11 year old nephew says "I loved the climbing thing in the center".

Aby C

What a great museum for little ones! There are a lot of different activities to do, my 4 year old spent the whole day there and didn't want to leave. They have a cafe area where you can bring your own lunch or you can go out to buy and bring back. Very clean washrooms through out. Also love the lockers (only 25cents but will return to you by the end of the day) that u can use for the whole day. So you can just leave water bottles and jackets there and play comfortably with your kids! My daughter's favorite part was the shows at the mainstage, we went to 3 different ones the same day! Kids were given a chance to go up on stage to help with the act which the kids enjoyed very much! Would definitely return if we ever visit Boston again!

Allison Walker

We were gifted a membership - the museum is great! Spent 2 hours there with our 4 year old and only hit about 1/3 of the museum. What a great experience at this age! Convenient parking on Atlantic Wharf, listed on their website (website price info was outdated - garage is $12 for weekend) but was a nice short walk and didn't have to cross any roads. Excited to enjoy this membership for a year!!

Mordecai Veldt

We went as a family for the $1 admission after 5 on Fridays. It was great! Our 2 year old really enjoyed the "play place" on the second floor, which had a peaceful environment. He of course also loved around the other exhibits. Highly recommend.

marvin sprau

Came to see 2 things. Animation ice Dino and Japanese village tour. We were 10 min early for tour so we waited when we came back she said tour was full. She didn't tell us about a 20 person limit when we were there the first time. We were sitting 10 ft away. Unprofessional and a rip off of 36 bucks. The Dino was broken too. Too bad we're only visiting Boston we're out 36 bucks and let with a foul memory. Way to go...

Aaron Krytus

Great fun for all ages. I have 4 kids. They are 2, 5, 8, 9 and they all had stuff to do. Fridays are $1 per child after 5pm. I highly recommend doing so. It's a little busy but totally worth it. There is so much do there. From just having fun with bubbles to fun learning activities. I have no complaints. Staff was great, rooms clean, and great variety.

Anatolie Criucov

Awesome place to go with kids. Enjoyed it!

Noel Brinkley

We come several times a year and it never disappoints. Its loved as much y our 11 ur old as it is by our 2 1/2 yr old. Great location too, surrounded by many family friendly restaurants

Jill Trombley

If you have kids, it is a great place to stop if you are in Boston. Very inexpensive. We spent several hours, and could have stayed longer. Lots to do for you and your family. There is no cafeteria or restaurant inside, just a few vending machines that accepts cash or card. Lots of bathrooms in all floors. Highly recommend!

Irina Weinshel

Great spot for toddlers and older kids! I wish there was more to do for infants and a place inside to get a quick bite. Otherwise, it was a blast for my son!

Melinda Sudbury

Endless fun for my almost two year old. We could come here every day. Convenient Stroller parking areas (free) Short walk from red line

Jess Uttaro

My 10 year old daughter loves this place. I feel it's geared toward younger children (maybe toddler to 7/8 years old) but she still enjoys our visits.

Kristi Mitchell

A great experience for kids and parents too! We never run out of things to do or see here.

Stephen Campbell

Lots of fun even for adults.

Divya P

It's a wonderful museum for toddler to play and enjoy. One has to spend minimum 4 hours easily to cover everything in the museum.

Mary Cotone

They have expanded this place alot and there is so much to do. We spent 5 hours and could have stayed longer. The kids had a blast

Christina Lonergan

Great place to bring kids. My neices had a lot of fun

Travis Griffitt

The $1 Friday after 5 deal is great. Don’t think it would be worth regular admission though. There is a decent amount for the kids to do but doesn’t hold up to the fun my kids have had at other children’s museums in the country. It only took us 2 hours to pretty much see everything and be tired of this place. Glad we got in on the good deal on a Friday and didn’t waste money.

Kati Murphy

SO MUCH FUN! My 1 y/o and 5 y/o loved everything each area of the museum had to offer. All exhibits were hands on and enjoyed by kids and adults. Each area of the museum engages kids curiosity; allowing them to explore science first hand and still have so much fun doing it. My girls loved playing with the bubbles/ water table river (ish) [bring change of clothes], construction room and so much more! Pack food and eat at a table by the waterfront too.

Roey Tzezana

A wonderful place for the kids. Highly recommended for families. We spent 2.5 hours there and didn't even make it to the third and final floor! If you make it to Boston with kids, you must visit this place.

Joshua Winters

What a fun children's museum and they reciprocate with a bunch of other museums so we got in for free. Our kid loved it!

Sam

I went with my 2 and a half year old nephew. He had a great time and so did the adults. The staff was very attentive and helpful in guiding him towards the exit on the climbing tower. Looking forward to the outdoor area opening up. Beautiful area of boston.

Modesto Martz

Best place to have your children enjoy a whole day

Takara Jacques

Hours of fun activities and exhibits for my 2 year old. They have something for all ages. The price is Affordable, you can usually find some free passes at most boston libraries. And the location is only a few minutes walk from south station.

Kristen Jean Baptiste

My kids love this place and it beats a hot park anyday

AntiAnt

I visit it every Friday because they open until 9pm that day and the admission is $1. However, I decide to buy one year membership even when I knew that I will use it for less than 6 months. The deal was good since my son love this place and the admission is $19 per person. I wish they could open until 7pm instead of 5pm.

강주현

My kid really likes this museum. Very interesting place!! Lots of things to do and see.

chandra soucy

What a great establishment. I love bringing my kids here. So much to play with and learn. Always clean and employees always friendly.

Nancy DeShannon

brought the kids here and we had a great time. they had a lot of great exhibits on display for the kids to interact with and very educational at that too

Daniela Lucca

Have been going there for 10 years, sitting different kids. There are activities for every age and kind of kid. One can easily spend at least 6 hours day, especially if you have a meal there too. There is an area for feeding the kids downstairs near a very good bakery. If you have kids under 3 (or 4?) you can go to an area for tiny kids on the second floor with lots of toys, small slide, a small room for breast feeding, a kitchen with a microwave oven, sink and chairs with all sizes to have a snack. The construction site, school bus and school, Peeps World, Japanese House (real one), special exhibitions, Art on third floor, Artur’s school, camping, kitchen and airplane are great. They also call kids and parents along the day to to a theater play on the first floor. There is a lot to do there and kids love it!

Ahsan Kazmi

Very good for the kids under 7. I bought go Boston card which covers this facility but they charge for the kids above 12 months. They don't serve any food but you can bring your own food and eat in the cafeteria.

Lizeth Barraza

Awesome , we being visiting the children's museum for 2 generation!

Giuseppe Gori

Fun.. kids loved it. Nice location as well

Lisa Alvarado

The 15 minute walk to the Children’s Museum was well worth it for my 10 year old! We spent the whole day there and she still didn’t want to leave. My 15 mth old also was able to do a few things with her sister so that was nice. We’ve been to several children’s museums and they’re all similar, but this one had a nice area to make bubbles, which was a big hit for my 15 mth old, and other educational ways to learn and have fun at the same time. It’s 3 floors, so you’ll have plenty to do to get your moneys worth.

Nicole Stork

We brought our 11 month old and she had a good time. She especially liked the bubble room and the mirror boxes. There is a separate space for crawlers that is padded with sensory activities, was cool for her since she wasn't walking yet.

Samuel A

Went on Gown-Ups night. A lot of fun. This event was game of thrones themed. Catered by Roxy's. You get to have the museum to yourselves. Have a few drinks. All in all, a good time.

Michael Lowder

Great museum for kids of all ages. Plenty to keep you busy for the day.

Shmuel Shmuel

Has a lot to do. Has a lot of kids. Is right on the Boston ride route. Best do as part of a several days visit abd using the Go Boston card.

Cameron Tylek

Maybe my expectations were high because this was *the* Boston Children's Museum, but I found it to be a mostly average, run-of-the-mill children's attraction. I saw a lot of the same exhibits that we have at our hometown children's museum. Some of the rooms focused on simple things such as wooden building blocks (of one type of block), or duplos, or things that are very common place at any home. I thought the live shows they put on for the kids were great, the kids loved them and they had a different one just about every hour or so. There was also an entire Arthur interactive exhibit that was very popular. If your children like to watch the PBS TV cartoon show Arthur, then they would really enjoy it. There are plenty of interactive exhibits and places to explore, and enough things to do for up to the entire day. If I lived in the city I would certainly become a member, but I wouldn't travel into Boston just to experience it, since it's mostly the same as what you'd find in your own neighbor children's museum.

Bobby Guliani

Kids of any age will love it:)

Casey Hopkins

I have brought my family to this museum many many times. It is always such a fun time. Its also close to the subway station for an easy commute. Staff seem to always be friendly and helpful. Only downside is sometimes things can be a little pricey. All in all a great family, friendly place to visit! Get there early as there is lots to see.

Sirin Hamsho

We simply love this place. Perfect destination for kids in winter. In addition, there were special activities for kids during the month Ramadan which make it so special to us

Mojospapi Mikospapi

A lil pricey. Get the half price pass from the Boston Public Library. My 5yr old enjoys the hands on exhibits i.e. rope pulling/weights/ball rolling/climbing playset etc. I appreciate the nearby benches for the 'rents to sit and watch. Lol

Dana Suslovich Rabl

Great indoors fun. My 3 year old loved it.

Michael Orlinski

It's a mad house but always a ton of fun. Highly recommend membership if close to City, being able to pop in for an hour is worth every penny.

Tony Huang

Fun, but can be really busy with lots of children there at times.

Ohad Mamet

Even after a couple years, the experience was gr8 for everyone, and I enjoyed it alot, along with everyone else who was with me.

Mohsen Shahi

We have been to children’s museums in several different cities and I can say Boston’s close to the top. Very entertaining for toddlers and older ones. Similar structure and activities to other ones, but a lot more hands-on activity areas. A plus is the museums nice location: by the harbour, across from tea party museum. A brand new modern DIFFERENT playground has opened in 2019 a min walk from the museum as well. The only negative: no cafeteria inside. So you have to bring your food or step out to grab something.

Michelle

Very crowded. (We were there on a Thursday.) Lots of camps and yelling children without adults anywhere to be seen. Japanese house was very interesting though and kids could get about a minute in each play area before being pushed out by the next large group to push their way thru. Water play area definitely just for the very young. Only the kids playing with big spoons seemed to be enjoying that area. Lots of just big open spaces like the commons and theater without exhibits and several other spare areas without many activities which meant very large crowds in the couple of areas with fun activities. My kids liked the Arthur area the best. Especially the airplane. They also liked the climbing area although it was VERY crowded and loud. My daughter was complaining about the noise level throughout the museum.

Angela Jutras

We had a blast! Lots of hands on learning!

Duece Piece

Awesome place for kids of all ages! If you are anywhere near the Boston area I highly recommend taking your kids here! This is memories that will no doubt last a lifetime!

Paul Fombelle

Amazing place, but not ideal for toddlers. Maybe when the new toddler section opens in the fall. Too many 5 year olds running 100mph to have a 17 month old strolling around.

I have been to many many children's museums. This one is by far my favorite one yet! Kids loved it. They have everything. No cafe but a very large and nice lunch room!

Derrick Elliott

Lots of fun stuff to do with kids. Wish they had food inside the museum.

Neila Rene

I had the best time of my life with my daughter!! Staff is friendly and there are endless activities to do with your child!!

Holly Wright

Definitely will keep most kids interested. Almost something for every kid here (unless your my cat crazed child). Very friendly staff.

Keith pang

Great time with the family had to drag the kids out also check out Martan park right next door

Devan Stevens

So many fun activities! My 4 kids LOVED it. I don't like huge crowds, so I personally didn't like going on a free day. The kids still had a blast!

Anthony Boxrud

Kids loved it. It kept them busy for hours. Something for everyone (4, 6, 9, and 10)

Amazing place. Can keep kids entertained all day if you want to.

I feel it’s too toddler centric, what about older kids? Our son is 7 and most things are for toddlers so I feel it was kind of a waste for him although he did enjoy a few things in there I think they forgot about kids older than 4. Maybe if it was geared up to age 12 it would be better. It’s hard to find indoor things for older kids as most is too toddler centric

LOVE this place! Chock full of activities to keep your kids engaged for hours. My kid really likes the golf ball room, bubble room, and water play space. My only complaint is that their is limited seating for adults. Given how packed this place gets there should be benches along every wall. Also, bring a sweater since it can be freezing cold in some rooms.

Always enjoy taking my kids here

Must go with children where they can be really entertained throughout the day until the parents hold their energy. Nice ideas to make kids engaged also to make them work with lots of things.

Brittany Smith

We have been to a lot of Children's Museums and this one would definitely be on the lower bar. Very limited.

Melissa Campbell

Took my 3.5yr old and 1 yr old and they had a blast! We will definitely be returning there. The climbing structure at the beginning is wicked cool! And the dinosaur room was fantastic!

Bing Chen

Kids had a blast, great activities, friendly staff. Only drawback is there were always too many people at each station. Will definitely bring kids back again.

Arthur Liao

Very fun place to take your kids and not only break a mental sweet but also a physical one. Family friendly environment, I was there as a therapy dog team and every child we met or saw had big smiles in their faces. You could tell all the staff loved children as well!

G K

Great place to go, esp on a rainy or a cold winter day. Checkout free days they offer at times

Debbie Lee

Great indoor climbing structure and lots of fun things for kids of all ages! We highly recommend this!

Lorena Davis-Bennett

All of my children (8, 10 & 14) loved it; and the fireworks at the end of the evening were an added bonus!

Laurie Nuzzolilo

My children and now my grandchildren love this museum. A lot of hands on projects and play learning. Rock walls and basketball for physical challenges. Great staff!

Lisa Sydney

This is recommended for children ages 2 - 6 years. There is also a toddler room with activities and fun play.

Liz Pearson

The place had some outstanding exhibits! I loved this place. They have a cafe section where you can take your lunch, or you can go out to purchase and bring back. Excellent experience. We would go again.

What an amazing value for Friday nights. Incredibly fun for my 6 year old. We came from out of town so didn't get there until 7pm but wish we came earlier because she didn't even get to do and see everything.

Charles

i spent 5 hours there with two grandchildren and HAD NO CLUE we had been there that long, until they got cranky... which signaled meal time, but it was 2:00, holly molly, what a terrific venue rain or shine. the stage with actors was terrific, the golf balls, and bubbles was over the top, the very (at least to me) climbing platforms, was making me fearful, but not the children. the dinosaurs exhibit really connected with the smaller ones, and they talked about it at dinner.

Crystal LN

Was there the hole day, still didn't see everything. Will need to go back. It was great!!!

You can see the kids enjoying here by all means. What else is required for a five star....?
