You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people who have information of the services and products of Berkshire Museum (Museum) in the area close to the state of Massachusetts.
Right now the firm receives a score of 4.4 over 5 and this rating was based on 385 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is quite good, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to give their review when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.
I bring my 4 year old daughter all the time. She loves it. It never gets old for her.
Some exhibits were closed. Which was not mentioned to us when purchasing our admissions. We were told that there were some classes on field trips, we didn't realize that meant some of the exhibits would be almost inaccessible to us. One of the staff members was incredibly accomadating, knowledgeable, and friendly but our trip today was on a bit disappointing.
Nice looking place, no parking
Something for everyone
Nice museum and wonderful variety of displays fun for the whole family
Liked the VR room, the guitars exhibit was awesome. There are many hands-on activities. Nice to be able to strum the guitar. Many things for kids of all ages.
So much fun with a toddler!
The little ones loved it!
Very nice museum
A wonderful mix of objects.
Festival of Trees used to encompass almost the entire second floor. I was very disappointed to find very little trees.
Lots of good fun stuff to do
Much of interest, though the hodge podge probably reflects what various donors gave, not uncommon for small local museums, nice Native American artifacts, Briggs boxes an interesting window on pre-school iPad ways if bringing the wider world to desktops. Beautiful building. One complaint: only one bench in the whole second floor, and that one hard, and occupied. Is this deliberate?
Nice place to visit with your kids
A bit if a managerie of items on display ... Well it was interesting to see what would be next. Liked the Leonardo exhibit really informative and a great way to spend a rainy day. Really it's a kids museum but that didn't stop us from enjoying it (no kids along) Aquarium was interesting too.
Here for a wedding, but it seems like a fun museum.
This is a small local, museum. It would be good for families with children as they have an entire innovation center geared towards youth. They also have a little aquarium with tanks of fish, local reptiles and snakes in the basement. The ground floor also has the biology section with stuffed animals and minerals. The upper floors have art and sculpture, much of it donated by the Crane family of Crane paper fame. My favorite things, the native American lacrosse sticks and the mummy. Plan on a couple of hours.
This is a great museum, especially in the context of a small city. Nice aquarium too.
Great small museum.
Great little museum, especially for children, but a little of everything. Education focus.
The da Vinci exhibit was excellent.
Great place for kids of all ages.
I have been going to this museum for 30 years, and it used to be my favorite place to visit in Pittsfield. I moved away and hadn't been back for a few years, and thought it would be fun to go there on my birthday last year, but it turned out to be really disappointing! I figured that for the amount we paid to get in ($16!), that they must have made some great improvements, but it was the opposite. I don't know what happened, but the whole place just looked like nobody cared anymore. There was clearly no pride, love, enthusiasm, or passion put into the displays any longer. Even the crown jewel, the mummy, was just sort of "there" tossed in with some other miscellaneous objects. I had vowed that that would be my final visit, and this was before I heard about the scandal of them trying to sell the artwork that was so generously donated to the museum. You know, the pieces that were meant to be enjoyed by the public for generations to come, not just by wealthy collectors?! This museum has been around for over 100 years! Whoever is in charge needs to step away or be removed, because they are managing to finally sink it...
This is the most bare musuem I have ever visited. It must have been grand at some point in history as the building itself is impressive.
Great interactive experience for kids and adults!
Exceptional place. The statues were great but the exhibit of the plates was my favorite.
Great place and it was not too big and not too small. My husband, kids and I loved it!
The Berkshire Museum is a great place for kids play and learn at the same time! Great options for interactive play!
Many hands on things recommend going there during the leonardo da Vinci inventions
Fun time
Very cool place to take kids, they can get in a teepee, see some poison dart frogs and see glowing rocks. Do this on the next cold day.
I've driven by the place a hundred times and never visited. Brought my little guy to see Wally the stegosaurus and had a great time. For a small museum, they have an aerospace exhibit (with paper rockets to build and launch), mummies, a STEM area and miniatures built by a local sculptor. Very cool and close to home.
Great place for family fun.
Fun da Vinci exhibit, great for school trip.
Had some very interesting temporary shows. Would like to see more artwork. Did enjoy our visit.
It's really fun lot of activity for kids I'll give it a four star
Fun
Eclectic and unexpected. Great exhibition on Leonardo daVincis machines with fun interactives there right now. Aquarium in the basement!
It's a fun place to go with your children but also educates them too
Better than expected! Good place to inspire kids (5~10 years) with art!
My family had a great time! The hands-on(!) DaVinci machines and contraptions were the highlight, but we enjoyed other exhibits as well. I especially liked the collection of shoes from different times and places.
It's a nice place but it's a vert small museum. Only one piece of work there truly awed me. Other than that it's a one stop museum.
Good for an hour or two on a rainy day. The display about miniatures was interesting. The other displays were average,. Go to The Clark Museum if you are a serious art lover.
Friendly staff and great exhibits. A great museum. We'll be back for sure.
A really good science museum, especially for kids. Lovely story times for little ones. Becomes a movie theater in the evenings that is one of the best around.
Go when it's free. Cause it sure isn't worth the insane admission.
Friendly staff, great exhibits. Wish it was bigger though but otherwise a great place to kill time
This is a rather sad museum. From the looks of the architecture I suspect that it was once a much more impressive place than it is now. It's looking very shop worn, the exhibits are sparse and not well organized.
Great museam for kids and adults. The aquarium down stairs has lots of variety and they do a touch tank for the kids ( call for time of day) they also have lizards and snakes, spiders and frogs. Up stairs is more art and mummy and sculptures. A kids play area when u first walk in. I drive 50 min to get there and have been 3x. Worth the drive and $
The permanent exhibit was great. Learned a lot about Pittsfield and the Berkshires. My wife and I loved the rotating gallery exhibit which featured Morgan Bulkeley. He's a local artist but his works were still world class. Walked through the aquarium and we were underwhelmed but there was a family near us that loved it.
Small, regional museum, showing its age. A mix of local history and natural history, some exhibits and sections have been updated recently, some still look like 50 or more years ago.
So much to see and learn. Awesome exhibits and a lot of hands on activities for children.
Many interesting artifacts.
I had a great time with my daughter here. The art and exhibits were interesting and entertaining.I would recommend this for anyone.
A nice place to go with the family or even on a date everyone there is real nice
Loved the innovation exhibit. The Christmas tree exhibit was nice as well as the aquarium.
Spent the day there with kids ages 2 to 11, everyone loved it.
You got to come here and experience it yourself you will love it. They also have a small aquarium in the basement.
Great family friendly museum
Varied collection and interesting.
Plenty of diverse exhibits of both local and global artifacts, plus an aquarium/terranium. Recommend about 2 hours. Discounted for students, but reasonably priced otherwise too.
Lots of see and learn. Cozy museum and quick to navigate through the multiple floors. Worth the visit.
A very pleasant surprise. This museum is packed with stuff; an aquarium in the basement, two floors of natursl history exhibits, and a museum of innovation. Well worth the time and admission price.
A great small museum. Eclectic holdings.
Wonder family spot!
Small yet extremely informative museum. I would highly recommend it.
Good luck finding a park.
What a great place! I wish I'd known about this before. So many exhibits in so many different categories with plentiful specimens and information plus interactive displays for all ages. If you're like me and need to stop periodically, there are plentiful parking spots through the museum. Camera friendly, too. I plan to come back.
Kinda small not what I remembered as a kid... used to be a lot of different stuff.
Small but cute
The museum itself is really great to bring the kids to learn and experience new ideas. Unfortunately, some of the larger exhibits are not open due to the Federal government's shutdown
Great exhibit on Leonardo da Vinci's machines and mechanisms, plus a cool little aquarium too!
They have natural history, science, technology and art exhibits that are very well thought out and suitable for all ages. Takes 1-2.5 hours to go through. Only complaint is trying to find parking for it is sometimes difficult because it's right on the main strip and there is no parking lot.
Very enjoyable and interesting. Truly a journey of Science and history. A good place for learning
Very interesting artifacts.
It was good. Not stimulating enough for a 5 year old, but it doesn't boast to be a children's museum either.
This is a great museum for young kids. My 4yo and 2yo loved the aquarium and enjoyed the animal exhibits.
Very informational little museum. It doesn't take more than a few hours to visit this museum but it was really interesting. Interacting with the Davinci machine replicas was amazing. Great to visit on a rainy day.
Great price for cool up close exhibits. Children friendly. We had a blast.
Great afternoon for the kids. Nice gift shop.
Very interesting and informative museum.Really enjoyed our visit.
I like it because the rocks in the display room are so cool
Haven't been and never would consider a visit. If Norman Rockwell is not good enough for you then you should just shut your doors. Shame on you, going against the Rockwell family's wishes, after he gifted these priceless paintings to you.
Museum is interesting, many intriguing displays but often on the random side. We're definitely waiting for their reinvention, not totally optimistic but certainly hopeful. We had many fun visits when our kids were young. Now we're looking forward to treating our grandchildren.
Real great museum
Incredibly informative and enjoyable. The Da Vinci room was especially mind blowing
Small ,nice, quiet good for family
This is a great museum for kids!
Great place for kids, exspecially on those rainy days. Also for people less fortunate, if you show prof of a EBT card, they let you in for free. If you are able please leave some cash in the donation box.
Disappointed said all ages boring for 2.5 year old
Very nice museum! interactive exhibits and interesting displays really capture and keep your attention at all ages !
Nice museum. Art, animals and a beautiful area to walk around outside. Park on the street just behind the museum for free.
So much information.... wonderful
When I first visited the museum (2008+\-)I was disappointed in the organization/presentation/first impression it gave but saught out their fine art and was impressed with this little museum between some Goliath museums in the Berkshires. I even supported them by joining at a NAR higher level to support my new hometown. Sadly with the sale of its historical/regional fine art the museum has shot itself in the foot. Why? Because they will never afford what they sold: tourists—a mainstay of the Berkshires—have no reason to visit; locals may have gained a children’s museum but where will the museum get continued support to operate? BTW the museum never thanked me or even followed up with me on renewal.
A total Hidden Gem. And especially good for kids!
It's a nice museum especially for kids. You can see just about everything in an hour to 90 minutes.
It was awesome, twists and turns made finding things fun. The mini aquarium the kids enjoyed. The cost was ok , ebt card members need to take advantage of the discounts. Well worth the trip. Hands on as well
Great Festival of Trees for Christmas; wonderful exhibit of National Geographic photos. Check out Little Cinema... Some great Indie films.
Love this place, always changing and improving!
Love it! Hope they don't sell any art on display. I love having a cool way to share my childhood with my son.
My kids love to go for the hands on areas , my daughter whos 12 loves the art areas , my son whos 4 likes the aquarium. I do have issues with how they keep their snakes .. they have 3 large snakes in a small aquarium, together with no places to hide or anything., they also seems to keep other reptiles in very small enclosures, id like to see them take better care of their animals
Awesome place very interesting mix of everything. Including a real mummy. Aquarium, poison dart frogs, local history, science and learning. Great place to bring family for a day.
Love it. Great for birthday parties.
Nice typical museum
Always a great place to visit. So much going on here! Fun activities for kids and interesting exhibits for adults.
Good for kids
Lots of hands on things for kids. My 4 year old loved it!
Really good museum with a little bit of everything. Right now there is an exhibit of DaVinci machines.
Great exhibits. I greatly enjoy the animals. They do an amazing job with the displays and answering questions.
It's a really cool place to go if your in town for a while or have nothing to do! If you have a CW mars library card you could go to any library in the area and her a pass to go for free!!
Controversy be damned, this marvelous museum is really 3 musea in one: art, natural history, mini-zoo, historical and art movie house. That's 3, right?
We get a membership so that we can come on rainy days and there's always something new that stands out to us as well as many wonderful interactive activities for the kids. Their favorite is the small aquarium downstairs, though it has barely changed since I was a kid. Many rooms are the same as they have been for decades but they also have fascinating new displays coming through all the time. Love going to shows in the theater with the kids, a great intro to the stage.
This is the best place I've been in a while . Good to try new things in your everyday local environment .
My 10 yr old was reluctant to go, but once there he had so much fun. Lots of cool things to see and do. His favorite was the wigwam and Davinci's tank. It was a great homeschool field trip.
Fun place with a serious side. Nice little aquarium. Lots for kids to get involved with throughout the facility. Serious art for adults. The best of the Berkshires juried exhibit was stunning. Even purchased one of the paintings. Well worth a visit if in the area.
First time here and I must admit it was well worth the visit. I’m still trying to find hidden gems in this city I’m not overly familiar with and this is certainly one of them. Has exhibits to keep the whole family interested. It’s not a huge museum but we spent well over an hour there. Maybe 2. There are educational displays for adults, activities for kids and plenty of traditional museums items. But there’s also a unique mix of art, science and natural history. I’m looking forward to going back when I have more time to sit and read everything.
Wonderful time and very interesting
Very hands on. Great for kids.
Excellent place for learning and exploration of culture. I personally would love to acquire the Freemason building currently for sale across the street to dedicate to the sciences and cosmos and construct a planetarium to dedicate to the children of the Berkshires. For a discount rate for entry to the Berkshire Museum bring your library card or your EBT card. Wonderful place but could use some more scientific content and more art/cultural exhibits.
Fun for kids... Also a gym for Pokemon go players
They have everything. Kids love it!
Small but pleasant regional museum with interesting Leonardo DaVinci machines exhibit currently.
A small museum which struggles to present newly themed shows, highlighting a small collection of art and historic pieces.
Soo soo cool. I cant believe what they have
Very thoughtfully planned exhibits and aquarium. Our nearly five year old g’son had a grand couple of hours. Signed on for membership for second year.
I love it. They had plenty to look around that. Many interactive kinds of exhibits fun for kids and adults. There was really cpnvient hours. There was a wide variety of exhibits too. No food there though, but it's smack dab in the middle of a small little town, so you could find something to eat easily.
Loved it
My girlfriend and I spent so much time watching the animals. It was a lot of fun. We got in for free with a pass from my local library.
Small museum, many replicas but educational
A small but very interesting. They have educational areas for children. It also has a movie theater that shows movies that are independently produced. Special programs check their web site
Great educational experience.
Decent museum, animal room was fun
Saw the newest exhibit with my family and had a blast. There are so many interactive displays and hands on learning for everyone.
This is a wonderful, medium sized museum with a wide and rotating scope of exhibits. There's also a small aquarium in the basement. The rotating exhibits are pretty interesting, but the real gems here are the permanent sections.
nice surprise on vacation. I recommend, especially with children.
Cute local museum with plenty of exhibits to keep family busy. Look into passes through the library if you're local!
Art collection is limited. Good place for kids in natural sciences.
Awesome place alot bigger than it looks from the outside
Was there for poetry reading. Such a beauiful place
awesome place Lots of history
Eclectic standing exhibits. Always changing visiting exhibits. Great little movie theater. !
Beautiful museum. A lot to see for a rather small space. Everything is well-organized and interesting. We had to take two afternoons to see everything properly with the kids. The Da Vinci exhibit was excellent.
Wonderful experience for kids and adults alike. If the kiddos are on the young side or just getting tired of historical sites this is a place for them. Would go back!
They have a nice aquarium, and a lovely marble room upstairs!
They have a lot of things to look at, and there are a lot of things to learn. They kept my daughter very engaged while on her school trip.
Fun for quick day. Pretty small museum. Baby enjoyed the aquarium section.
Makes a good day for kids. There is building blocks to use and lots interactive exhibits for kids too.
Great for families. We were visiting the Berkshires and were running out of options to entertain the kids. This museum was a godsend! The innovation room was the kids favorite area.
I am a proud member of The Berkshire Museum. One of my youngest daughter's favorite places to visit. Great for a family Excursion
Great place to go and bring the kids and support education and arts for families in the Berkshire s
Great small Musemum. Lots too see and explore. Great affordable price.
There were lots of activities for my 2 year old. He loves the museum.
Our family had a great time, especially our kindergartner.
We visited to see the Da Vinci travelling exhibit which was excellent. The rest of the museum provides a view into local innovators (many more than I was aware of) plus a natural history museum focused on local items. Some interesting exhibits that test your knowledge of bird calls. Also there is a nice small aquarium area in the basement.
Natural history/art museum in scenic Pittsfield, MA . The dioramas/mineral collection were especially excellent. Host to an impressive art collection, the proposed sale of which has created notable controversy. Also offers a small aquarium and theater. Worth a visit!
I have loved this place since childhood . My kids love it now. What a treasure for the region.
Respectable museum for the area. Hands on activities fir the kids. Cool aquarium. Nifty Christmas tree exhibit every year.
An incredible collection, what a surprise for such a small museum.
