Free and interesting collection. Different from other museums I've visited. Highly recommend if you're interested in artifacts and period pieces.

Thom Grisso

impressive pick your time to visit to avoid the multiple school groups

Sunlight System

Beautiful. The staff is very nice. there are many places to sit - just be careful not to get lost. It's VERY easy to, so I'd strongly recommend picking up a floor map

Sabrina Scott

Haven’t been able to go in a bit but my family and I have gone to Walters a lot. The staff is always friendly and it’s always interesting. To walk through to look at the art.

David Robson

Fantastic, well-maintained museum, and it's FREE. What a gem! From Buddhist artifacts to rich and colorful Renaissance paintings, the Walters offers a variety of artful and illuminating works. Stay an hour, stay a day. There are also plenty of fun and educational activities for the kids. Go!

Mike Pieper

found this place by complete accident and couldn't be more thrilled!! love the displays and buildings they are housed in.

Christopher Slemmer

Amazing exhibits and wonderful staff

Floyd Godsey

Excellent art museum! The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. An extensive collection of classic artifacts, representing many hundreds of years. The museum has an intuitive floor plan. The museum's layout makes it easy for a novice to spend more time enjoying the collection and less time searching through the collection. The museum has a Cafe, conveniently located on the first floor. It has a nice selection of sandwiches, fruits, drinks, etc. The cafe is a great place to get off your feet, relax and grab a snack.

Sung-Hoon Kim

Wonderful place near Peabody library. There are some other things to see around museum. Although it is free for entrance, the quality is really excellent! Kids programs are also good. I highly recommend to visit with your children. Some chapters are under construction.

Monia

Beautiful museum. And the best part? It's free!!

Pablo Diablo

For a historian and art-nerd, it does not get better than a free museum! This place is so cool....tons of great art, artifacts and amazing collections. The building layout is different, be sure to explore the winding staircases....there are two. The staff were so friendly and helpful which added to our positive experience. One staff regaled us about the "ghosts" that inhabit the building which was very interesting! Overall a great place to visit if you love art.

Jerome Espinosa Baladad

It's still free entrance so visit if you are interested. Very worth your time. This is for the museum itself, and NOT its pay parking lot, which apparently turns off some people. So many fascinating items you can find inside, including those donated by other groups and individuals, not only by the Walters family.

Kara Clark

Beautiful! First official time exploring this museum by myself and I would say I love every minute of it. Not only is it huge but very quiet and peaceful on the weeknights. The staff are very helpful, I did get lost a bit, but was helped out in finding the exit lol it's definitely a trip worth taking. It's free as well!!

Carl Drake

Amazing art museum that's free to the public. I always make time to visit whenever I am in Baltimore.

Amber Denian

Worth the trip! Definitely check it out if you visit Baltimore.

William Perkins

Great art, exceptional people, free and welcoming.

Stephanie Herring

Beautiful artifacts and sculptures. Highly recommend!

C J

This place was amazing. It's free. The art they have there is pure beauty. Paintings, sculptures, statues all amazing. They even have one of the oldest Budha statues in amazing condition.

Daniel Zajic

Unbelievable museum. That one person collected most of this, in their lifetime, makes it even more amazing.

Courtney Real

Amazing free museum with antiquities ranging from Tibetan to Italian. Great and unexpected collection and an amazingly large and varied amount in such a small space.

Whitney Burton

Amazing jem! Parking can be hard in Mount Vernon, but it's worth circling to see the art.

Rachel Deatherage

This place is beyond amazing and I didn't even make it through half of the rooms. Love love love.

Hachi Akarolo

Great pieces of art on display! Clean, Quiet and Free. Love it!!

Mary Sharp

I love the Walters. I've been here twice already and they do change some of their featured displays. Loads of information to learn here! Easy to find and there's parking down the street in the lot unless you find some parking spaces.

Dina Walters

Stunning art in a warm and friendly environment :). I was in Baltimore for the day and this museum was nearby. This ended up being the highlight of my trip! Upon entry, the staff gives you a warm greeting. (I met Eric, who was wonderful!) There were free lockers to place my backpack, to lighten my load while I walked the museum. There was even a cafe. (I met a staff member there named Sheba. She was so sweet and a joy to talk to!) The Walters Museum was immaculate and so well organized! All of the staff throughout the museum were friendly and accommodating. The pieces of art were stunning and versatile. This place is so worth the visit! Highly recommended!

debra steckler

Great collection of art in a beautiful space, and it's FREE!!

Derek Rebuck

To me, it's more of a history museum than an art museum. There are sculptures, coffins, pots, artifacts, and an odd array of other items from different time periods from the past. There may also be some artwork too, but I didn't get that far. Interesting stuff, and it's free, which is nice. I recommend leaving a donation though to show your appreciation. The safe are very friendly, and it wasn't particularly busy. Workers are willing to answer any questions you may have.

Monica Carr

Wonderful learning experience! I must go back, there was so much to enjoy and see!

Viscountress Global

Mama said knock you out The Walter's Art Gallery aka Kiddtown training ground for CIA. It's anonymous.

O.J. Anyatonwu

TL/DR: the museum is plain on the outside, vibrant on the inside. Diverse, beautiful works of art. Everything looks great, well worth the visit for any reason. The museum itself looks very unassuming from the outside, but once you enter inside, you start to see you'll be in for a good time. The greeter told is to start from the top floor and work our way down and I'd give the same advice to anyone else. The different works of art were arranged in ways that made it easy to see everything without backtracking. Lighting in different areas added to the relaxed atmosphere. Works arranged by time period added an education factor to the visit, and overall it was well worth the trip. Would very much like to go again.

Somagani Gayathri

Amazing museum . The architecture was fabulous..the era's ,artifacts, etc very beautifully displayed. Jaw dropping skylights and the placement of the exhibits was very interesting and the there's no entry fee

Evan Mayberry

The Walters Art Museum is a masterpiece in itself. It is one of the best places for family outings as well as to take kids along. The place in itself is a knowledge hub.The museum is comprised of so many beautiful exhibits and artifacts.Last week , i went here with my family and the kids in the family had a lot of fun along with learning. The best place for kids.

Asita Blue

It was just an amazing museum and I was impressed by the way every floor had a theme to it. I'd love to go back there to look Nd explore new things!

Beverly Sukonik

Amazing and diverse artifacts

pay me no mind !!!

I loved it. Perfect design and layout. Didnt feel cramped. Didnt feel rushed. I did however feel i was being followed because i had a different "look" than most of the other patrons. Oh well. Otherwise, it was great. I suggest stopping by

Scott Schelp

I was under the impression that this would be a standard modern art museum. Boy, I was wrong. There is a substantial amount of historical art. I really enjoyed looking at the swords and armor sets. I also enjoyed the ancient roman and Greek art. This is a very beautiful collection and it is free to visit. I would strongly suggest this great treasure in Mt. Vernon.

Tony Randolph

Very cool visuals. Awesome way to spend a Sunday in Baltimore. Very comfortable and quiet.

Philip Schultz

I can't say enough good about this place. I wish I had more time to spend there than I've had. Have been there twice and each time I left before I felt I had seen everything. They have great exibits that come and go so look ahead and see what is there when you go. The collection has paintings from Monet, Manet and many others. They have multiple sarcophagi from ancient times, weapons from long ago in this country and so much other stuff I just could not list it all. This would take a whole day if you have it and there was no one there either day I was there!

Bobby Lunsford

Took the kids and had a great time.

Harry Li

Lovely place! Lots of contents and free tour every Saturday and Sunday at 1pm.

Juan Gutierrez

Amazing place of historical heritage from around the world. And the admission is absolutely FREE. Spent 1.5 hours with my wife there. Incredible!

madalykat

Great collection! Small enough to see in one day, the big enough to change your view of the world.

Jennifer Kelsch

This is the art collection of William Walters and Henry Walters of Baltimore, who were industrialists and bankers who had a keen interest in fine arts.It is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, and admission is free.I love this museum. They have a wide variety of European and Asian art, as well as Islamic art, Egyptian artifacts, and much more. The collection includes a Monet for those interested in Impressionists.

Goku gang wins

Haven't been to a museum in Ages. And it was well worth it

zalika woods

It can take about half a day if that to go through the museum. Interesting exhibits.

Gokul Krishnamoorthy

Free entry. Excellent collections. Art of Asia closed for renovations. Lot of attraction near by like Washington monument, Peabody library, basilica etc. Lot of school children were visiting when I visited.

Tom Miller

Lots of beautiful things to see and ask for free! There are also paid tours and performances if your so inclined. We self toured in our family group and had a really great experience. Definitely recommend a self tour your first time but give yourself 4 hours, so you can soak it all in.

Diane Cobb

Very creative. Lots of different things to interact with. Historical displays and an wonderful Museum Store. The staff are friendly. Clean and peaceful Museum to visit. The atmosphere is very welcoming. I would recommend it to families.

Tina Flemmings

DeJia a.k.a. Amy-ton

Super interesting museum. The place is part museum, part labyrinth!

Rowan Cloud

Really great art museum with art from many different cultures and time periods. I could be here for hours and not see everything! Love it!

s brown

Security was super rude for our school event. Should’ve made sure school was very aware of “simple rules”. Very disappointed about how parents were talked to like children. This was suppose to be a fun night. Teach the security that customer service means everything.

Tina Allison

What an amazing gallery. I could spend hours here and learn something new at each visit. It's an amazing collection.

Felipe Massa

Perfectly sized, free museum with an impressive collection.

Ms. Luciano’s Neighborhood.

I give the Museum 5 stars but I give the website 1 star. The website is annoying and difficult to navigate. It is not user friendly or youth friendly. The moving graphics and non-intuitive click spaces are frustrating. I understand a museum wanting to have a more creative web site, but it shouldn't sacrifice accessibility.

Carmen Melendez

Lots of beautiful things to see and ask for free! There are also paid tours and performances

margie troy

We went to the Sunday children's activities day. Excellent!

Rahel in Korea

This museum has a very eccentric and interesting collection of items. Well worth the visit

Walid Nabhane

A beautiful charming museum with a nice but small collection of everything 1700 and before. It is a shame that it lack any 1750-1930 painting periods. But it is still worth the visit for 1-2 hours.

Evan Nevermore

A free high quality art museum in Baltimore City. There's a lot of things going on there at any given time, and they are also free. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but that's pretty much given in the city. The gallery is clean and well maintained with many interesting factoids about each piece. Definitely go, and go often :)

Relaxing Audio

Awesome museum in an awesome city

Will Sutton

Extremely friendly people in there and very cool stuff. AND IT'S FREE. I guarantee you will not see everything in one day unless you spend all day there or run through without really taking it in.

Sarah White

I grew up going to the Walters with my grandma in the nineties, and since it's been made free to the public it's gotten even better. I've been to some very famous museums where I feel unwelcome, but never at the Walters. Here, the goal is to engage the public and make these awesome treasures available for everybody's education and enjoyment. You can take pictures of the museum's pieces, and get relatively close to them (no touching, of course). I recommend the Egyptian exhibit and the Cabinet of Curiosities (which is an awesome exhibit about the history of museums with an eclectic collection of natural specimens and ancient pieces of art). Also, there is a kid's area on the downstairs floor, so please ask the helpful volunteers at the information desk about it.

Kennedy Cyprain-Chiaha

Such a great place. The staff were friendly and inviting, they were always ready to help too. It is a small museum at only 4 levels but it was still fun to go in and see the displays. A lot of time and energy was put into putting this museum together. To top it off if your in the area on a date, with family or just by yourself definitely go and visit it's such a great place to go too. And congrats to the staff for making such a warm and inviting museum.

Trevor Jayakody

Beautiful collection in a really unique, peaceful space. Nice to see an unexpected Monet and watching an art conservationist in action through the conservation window was fascinating. Staff are also really friendly and welcoming, my visit was an absolute joy

Savannah Garcia

This museum has a great selection of a variety of artistic items. There are many events to enjoy and there is always a special exhibition. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

3 kids rock

Nice medium size collection. Good selection of Asian art.

Preston Pittman

It's free and has so much in it. I thought I'd spend only an hour or two here but ended up staying five.

Don Windrem

We visited the Walters Art Museum because it was close to our hotel and the Basilica and was free. This is more a museum like the metropolitan museum in NYC rather than a standard art museum. This museum had statues, both stone and metal, artwork from at least the 7th century through 21st. There is beautiful architecture, antique furniture, arms and armory, stuffed animals and animal skins from many different ages. There is an area on the first floor that changes constantly and has art from local artists. The museum is definitely worth spending a few hours in. We spent about 2.5 hours here. Definitely worth our time.

Shannon Thomas

This museum has a great selection of a variety of artistic items.

Andrew Cameron

Baltimore's crown jewel. A beautiful collection in comparatively intimate galleries. There are multiple connected buildings which feels like you're unexpectedly stumbling upon extra treasures.

Maiketa j Holmes

The art is beautiful. The museum is free. And on the weekends it's something for the whole family to do.

Russell Walker

I had a really great experience at the Walters Art Museum. I grew up in the DC metro area and have a healthy appreciation for museums. I took two of my youngest children on this day. We were very fortunate to find a parking space right across the street from the museum, however, the parking meter was malfunction. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I was aided by the museum staff on how to resolve this issue. We got there at 4 pm and stayed for one hour. We got to visit the museum store and the Ancient World on floor two. Over the course of the next six months to a year my family will get an immersion into this museum as we visit all of the exhibits. This place is a teachers dream. Print and visual rich and very organized. Will visit again in two weeks.

Jacqueline Z

Great museum, free admissions. While there is private parking, it's a bit pricy. There is paid street parking available nearby as an alternative. I think you could easily spend a few hours here if you wanted to get a good look at all the collections this museum has to offer.

James Pugh

This place was amazing. I had a great experience at this place and I enjoyed every moment here. It's free. This museum had a very amazing collection of items. I saw very different things. I will definitely go again.

Richard Blake

Must bring a date that appreciate art like I do

Jill Shaul

This was a neat art museum, especially for being free!

Reuven Zecharia

This Museum is really unbelievable. First of all, its FREE. Second of all it has the ambience of a truly expensive Museum with collections that are heart stopping!

mayra cortez

Fabulous place for free. Easily could spend all day there.

Lizz Hough

Super cool. Went on a date with my guy here. We spent 3 hours there and didn't even realize it. Everything was beautiful. Definitely recommend if you're in town looking for a chill afternoon.

Tavis Finley

beautiful place to visit. a must see while killing time lol

Sheri Lash

Beautiful museum.Beautiful variety of art.

Brendan Bobylak

Very interesting museum. Definitely more of an art history/history museum than just a pure art museum. Lots of info.

Tammie Falk

Love this museum. So much to see.

Stephen Gombas

A wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Some beautiful art and history on display here. The contemporary art section had some... questionable exhibits that I personally didn't see the draw to. However, I may not be art savvy enough. If you want to have some gut busting laughs, bring a smartphone with Snapchat and faceswap yourself onto some of the paintings and statues. Best idea we had. Be careful not to get lost, as the layout can get a little confusing.

Daniel Ray

Best free museum with changing galleries. If u haven’t been go. It’s amazing.

Jake Bushnell

Good exhibits, great children's area for kids. Parking is $17, though admission is free.

Matthew Smith

One of Baltimore's greatest cultural amenities, the wonderful collections of art here are a tribute to the Walters family and a blessing for the City.

SunshineLaw Fan

A must stop for any art lover. Allow time to fully appreciate these art treasures.

Johanna Santa Rita

Love it got my art in there love it but it's in a weird spot

Jennifer Kaes

Such a wonderful FREE museum! So much to see and do. There's a parking lot across from the museum which is $17 for the day. They also have lockers for your coats and things you don't want to carry around that are free.

william stover

The museum entry is free. It is separated into eras and regions. There are ample signs everywhere to direct you as well as floor plans and a professional and friendly staff. The pieces are exquisite and well maintained. Well air conditioned. Wheelchair accessible throughout. Sitting benches and cushioned seating scattered all around for anyone who cannot walk for long periods of time. There is also a cafe. Roomy elevators provided.

Stephen Sanders

A collection encompassing late 19th century art to Ancient Greece, including a few Frankish and Goth artifacts. A pleasant surprise.

Felicia King

Amazing collection of this museum. We see some other things to see around this museum. Even though it is free for entrance, the quality is really excellent! This place good for kids. I would definitely recommend beginning the visit by viewing the collection on the 4th floor and work your way down.

Robert Maier

This is a wonderful collection of great masters, archaeological items, and crafted items. Eclectic is the word here. It's new renovations are stunning. A tiny cafe has snacks, sandwiches craft sodas and espresso drinks. Not very crowded, so you can get up close to every work and spend as much time as you want. It was special to watch a professional art conservator working in her shop with a large display window into the museum. She was happy to stop and answer many questions about her fascinating work.

Eric Bishop

Amazing museum. Still free admission, but parking will cost you. Totally worth it. Free-air exhibits wonderfully unexpected. Easy to spend an entire day in here and not see everything. Would recommend. Small cafe and gift store for a rest stop. Multiple Pokemon go gyms and stops at this site, for the kids.

okinawa tomyo

Free and gorgeous. Like the BMA the Walters Art Museum packs a lot of great works inside nicely displayed and fun to see.

Connie Green

Wow. Not only is the Walters a great museum, but it's FREE to visit! I was visiting Baltimore for a weekend, and the Walters was a quick walk over from my hotel, so I knew I had to check it out. (It's also near a few other great tourist attractions: the George Peabody Library and the Washington Monument for starters!) So glad I did! The Walters has a really interesting collection with numerous pieces from Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque Europe; ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt; Asia; Central America; the Middle East; and more! The art was displayed in really beautiful rooms as well. The museum has a small cafe, which was a great place to have a quick drink or snack, and a small gift shop! This was a great museum. Definitely worth exploring on a visit to Baltimore!

Officially Maddy

This place is awesome.people come from all over the world to visit.there is something for everyone.you will want to come back.

Lili Rehak

Fabulous, far reaching exhibition of art and antiquities. Spent four hours here and didn't see it all. Cafe food was not so great.

Dorothea Oller

Not crowded, variety of art. Would have been willing to pay $20+ a person but free is wonderful. Don't miss the Jacquard fabric exhibit.

James Doyle

The Walters Art Museum is the preeminent art collection of the larger Maryland area. The fact that it is free makes it a boon for the local community and a must see for every tourist in Baltimore. Although the collection spans the world and thousands of years of civilization, its European galleries are the best represented, especially the medieval ones. Very well presented. Located in the historic center of Baltimore. Small cafe and gift shop on site. This was the highlight of my visit to Baltimore.

Chad McCaughey

I have been a couple times and enjoy the chamber of wonders.

Simran Kaur

One of the great museums of Baltimore. The art there is interesting and the staff friendly and eager to educate. There's a cafe, and many special events occur there. I would recommend everyone, especially those living in the city, to go.

Laura Hall

Gorgeous museum. Perfect for an afternoon stroll.

Christopher Hancock

The Walters Art Museum is truly a gem in the middle of Baltimore. They've a wonderful collection, in a gorgeously restored building. The staff are friendly and polite, always willing to answer questions and guide you to other exhibits. If you're free, be sure to stop by!

IWC IWC

Beautiful space with a thoughtful collection of classic art. There is an especially cool room of artisanal items from furniture to weapons as well as a large collection of renaissance paintings. The museum is large but with all the floors and hallways it is also an intimate space to sit and contemplate the abundance and absurdity of life

Bridgette Bullock

A great source of educational classes and performance events. Historical displays and an wonderful Museum Store.

Ian Waters

Amazing museum with extensive collections right in downtown. The Hall of Wonders is a highlight!

Jennifer Baker

The Walters Gallery is probably the best classical museum in Baltimore. The collection spans from the prehistoric to the modern. A great place to spend an afternoon. While more culturally inclined teens will be fine, there really isn't much here for younger children. The collection is extensive and exhibited in a manner that allows one to view the collection at one's leisure, and without dealing with crowds. The mansion itself offers a glorious backdrop to the vast collection. The museum is clearly a hidden gem in Baltimore and worth visiting more than once!

Harshawardhan Deshpande

Amazing. Can't believe it is a free museum.

Michelle Charles

Fantastic museum. Cant wait to go back and explore. Free and full of stellar pieces!

Angela Manor

Staff were very nice and greeted me as soon as I walked in. Clean and peaceful Museum to visit. Only down side is that the Asian Art exhibit wasn't open yet. Still a nice place to visit.

Anne Perry

Visited the Walters when I was in town for a conference, and it was a really nice experience. They have a diverse collection, and clearly put a lot of work into their education programs. I was a bit confused by the lack of signage in some areas and lack of security in others. I saw patrons touching and getting too close to art, and I was unsure what was permitted and what was not due to the lack of staff. This was hopefully just a one-time issue, as the rest of my experience was great.

Bill Anderson

Seen one, seen em all. Nothing unique/notable.

Jon Velapoldi

Nice medium sized museum. Plenty of interesting artifacts from ancient Egypt, Western medieval era, Roman and Greek eras, and the Renaissance. Provides a solid theme for each area telling a compelling story of not only ordinary peoples lives as told through their coveted items through more grandiose objects held by upper class castes. Felt more personal than other museums in the area.

joseph downey

Really cool museum. Liked the old swords and medieval weapons. Was free ( with a donation box ) and all staff were friendly and helpful. Worked well for a time killer with my date as we waited for a play to start.

Tiffany Liu

What a great free museum! I didn't spend as much time here as I would like to - their collections are well curated and organized. Can't wait to go back.

Chessie Hanna

Excellent collections. So glad we made the trip to see this museum.

Keith Britt

Love the ancient Egyptian artifacts and tablets.

Vera Tizabi

Fabulous collection of Art. A gem in Baltimore!

Paul Furth

One of the great museums of Baltimore. The art there is interesting and the staff friendly and eager to educate. There's a cafe, and many special events occur there. I would recommend everyone, especially those living in the city, to go.

Harold Smith

I love visiting the Walter's Art Museum its interesting and a great place to take kids.

mrgresick

For years I took my students to this phenomenal museum and now I take my own children.

Patty Rhee

Today was my first visit to to Walters Art Museum, and I'll definitely be back. The staff is very friendly and good with kids. I went to the Lunar New Year event their. It was a very kid friendly event. I just wished I had more time to look around more. There's elevators and stairs to go up and down the museum floors. Bathrooms were fairly easy to get to. Overall a great experience.

William Terry

Wow!!! Beautiful place. I had great selection of a variety of artistic items. The staff was amiable and attentive. I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Goldies Girl

A nice place to just see history and some great art.

karyn bitzel

Excellent collections in a comfortable and well-designed space. I love this museum! A great place to introduce young people to the world of art. Not too big, rarely crowded, great gift shop, and FREE.

Ajay Bansal

The collection is this museum is amazing. The variety is extremely diverse and very well manged and organized. We spent just over two hours there and we're blown away. I would definitely recommend to begin the visit with viewing the collection on the 4th floor and work your way down. The collection from the world fair and the Faberge eggs were stunning. We were assisted by Marlyn who really guided us well. This is a definitely must see while visiting Baltimore.

Thoma Riviegravere

Lovely museum! The Walters collections were absolutely worth being displayed and definitely deserved a museum for everyone to visit. Justice was served! It's definitely in the top 3 attractions of Baltimore. You will never regret a visit to this museum whether you're a passionate of history or not, you'll most likely appreciate it. You just cannot miss a visit to the Walter's. There are many things for children to see and do, as well as what adults will expect and enjoy. The opening of the Walters House is an added attraction with a stunning staircase and stained glass skylight.

Tina LeBaron

This small gallery has some surprisingly famous pieces, presents many of them in a unique Victorian-style display, is kid-friendly, and is free. If you get there early enough they also have their own parking structure. Their medieval, renaissance, cabinets of curiosity and sculpture areas are their most unique permanent exhibits. They also host a slew of temporary exhibits that range from ancient to contemporary, as well as frequent community events. Put this place on your radar if you haven't already.

Yujie Chang

Great place to just relax and enjoy beautiful art. There are many exhibits and there is a historic house attached as well. Visit this place if you are near the Washington monument in Baltimore.

Brett Thompson

This museum is amazing a hidden gem in Baltimore truly wonderful if you will enjoy exploring all the amazing things they have from different eras throughout time it's a wonderful collection and free. definitely visit all the floors in little nooks and places you can you'll find so many wonderful things there are so mini artifacts and amazing paintings! Beautiful and they have a place where you can play chess or checkers..while you break from exploring..very nice gift shop as well

Michael Lidell

A visit to the Walters Art Museum should be part of any trip to Baltimore. It has a fabulous collection of paintings, sculpture, and ceramics from many different cultures and time periods.

Mike Bentley

Excellent museum with a wealth of interesting objects and artwork. Currently undergoing building work and seems somewhat muddled. The staff, while being friendly and helpful, were unable to help us find the netsuke advertised in the brochure. However, the Lalique and the Faberge alone were worth the visit (& the parking fine!!!)

Woodland Wilson

Went with Doreen had an amazing time

Ami Greener

Lovely free museum right in the heart of Mt Vernon, Baltimore. Great for a rainy / muggy day

Justin Kind

Growing up in the Baltimore area, this has always been one of my favorite museums. First, its free for all! Second, they have a lot of nice works of art. They also offer free tours and have cool events and talks on exhibits. The museum is organized, and I love their Egyptian historical artifacts. The area around the museum is safe, and there is a nearby parking lot (for cost), or you can search around for free or cheaper street parking (can be easy or hard depending on the time or day). Highly recommend art history museum for visitors to Baltimore!

Michael Quasebarth

Stopped in for Lunar New Year celebration. I have to admit it was a little bit of a letdown geared definitely for the younger visitors. Nevertheless there was plenty of great exhibits to see and it was definitely worth checking out again.

Lauren Flynn

A lovely stroll.....free!

Andrew Pelletier

What a cool museum, and it's all free. Has four levels with all different paintings, artwork, sculptures, and much more.

Deidre Fallon

What a gem, this ended up being the highlight of my work trip! This museum has so many amazing pieces and it's free! They have great hours (10a-9p) and it's close to the Peabody Library, Washington monument and the Basilica. They have something for everyone here and the building itself is very beautiful inside. There is a free self guided audio tour on their app.

brook pepper

Outstanding egyptian collection. You can see very different things. I will definitely go again.

Zoe

An amazing place to go in the city, it has a beautiful variety of art from all over the cultural spectrum. I would highly recommend stopping here on any visit into the city.

Zack Schneiderman

Cannot really ask for more from a free art museum. They have an excellent permanent collection with an extremely wide variety of art from many different cultures. I love the room filled with insects and taxidermy as it's really a unique thing to see in a museum.
