Nice docents, some of the things are kinda interesting, but the kids were a little bit bored.

Attended a wedding there. Nice place especially that it is historical. The only bad thing was we couldn't have the wedding indoors due to the elevator not working.

I personally haven't been inside myself but the tour guide I had spoke a lot about the flag outside the house. It was very interesting being in that area.

A hidden gem in Baltimore. Baltimore, as you may know, is where the "Star Spangled Banner" was composed during the war of 1812. This museum tells the history of how that flag was created - a huge flag flown over Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore, September 13-14, 1814. It's a very small museum, so it was just me and the staff (one person). The house is in pristine condition, filled with period artifacts plus a cell phone tour. It takes about 1 hour but really gives you insight into that time in our history, and the making of an American icon: the Stars and Stripes. If you've seen the Stars and Stripes at the National Museum of American History in Washington, then a visit here will really round you out as an expert on flags, stars and the forgotten war of 1812. Highly recommended. Great for history buffs and kids older than ten.

Small but worth the time. Museum is small and well laid out. Lots to read. Short movie about the Star Spangled Banner and a gift shop. Then there is the tour of the home Mary lived in while sewing the flag. You can do the tour self guided or with a guide. We chose to do it with a guide and she was very knowledgeable. Always neat seeing historic homes and trying to imagine how they lived back then. Admission is inexpensive but we also had a Groupon so it was even less. Would recommend to any history buffs in the area! No parking (we took an Uber)

Educational and fun. It's an interesting bit of history that many people don't know. A beautiful garden in the yard. Go when you come to Baltimore and of you live here learn your history and go!

The staff at the desk was very kind and helpful. The period items were very interesting to me. The house was my favorite part of the experience.

The history revealed and the historic buildings and grounds tucked right in the middle of Baltimore, quite a treasure. Went for a wedding and everything was totally unexpected in the best possible ways!

A good place to spend an hour or so learning about the history of the Star-Spangled Banner and seeing where it was created. The home is restored and there is a self-guided tour; the museum is small but informative and friendly staff.

This is a hidden gem if you love history. The guided tour of the house was fabulous and the museum is small but very well done. Kids loved the hands on exhibits. There is also a kids craft room that my kids had a lot of fun playing in.

2nd grade class went here for a class field trip. It was okay, but some of the staff didn't know how to present to kids. They were more interested in making a presentation to the adult chaperones. There also isn't a lot to do here. Maybe 45 to 60 minutes of activities/touring. Most of the kids were bored with the place by the time we were 20 minutes into the trip. Great information and a couple interesting things to see, but I don't see any reason to go back.

Interesting to hear the story of the person who made the flag (Mary Pickersgill) and walk into the home of where it was made. Your visit will not take that long to complete the home tour and museum. I'd say the average person will complete both in about an hour or longer, a quick hit and it's not that far from the Inner Harbor. The interpretive stations were interesting and it told many facts about the person/people (Pickersgill) who created the star spangled banner I did not know.

BEWARE. I am giving the museum a 5 as Its a very nice museum, however it's in a terrible neighborhood. We were on vacation and our car was broken into right in front of the museum at 2pm on a bright sunny day. The window was broken on my 10 year old jeep and my crappy Wal-Mart suitcase wad taken as well as the quarters I have for patking meters. Its apparent that the neighbors look for tourists to come up and steal their belongings while they spend an hour or two in the museum. I do recommend the museum but I would recommend parking in one of the paid lots and walk the 2 blocks to the museum.

What a unique piece of history! Thank you, Baltimore, for preserving this! The museum is classy and teaches all about the flag that flew over Ft. McHenry in the War of 1812 that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem that became our National Anthem. The actual house has been preserved for us to see and imagine what life was like back then. If you take a self-guided tour, ask the front desk for the booklet that tells what each number is in the house. Fascinating material!

Erica Sexton

I was expecting to be able to tour the house. But that was only available on the guided tour. The self guided tour was not what I was expecting, but informative.

This is a diamond in the rough. It feels like this is a place that only gets attention on field trip day, but should be packed regularly. Pay a little extra and get the movie, house tour and museum access. We expected ho-hum, but the passion of the docents and history right before you are well worth it.

Sherman G

I can't wait to tour this house!

It's a great place to go for some history! Love the ladies there that took time to show us around! Recomend! I wish more schools would do field trips like this! Everything about history is important!

My daughter and I visited this attraction in February. It is a nice little museum about the creation of the US Flag that inspired Francis Scott Key’s poem that became our national anthem. It started with a 20 minute video, and then a roomful of exhibits. You can then go to the actual house where the flag was made. You can do this museum in about one and a half hours taking your time. There is also a small gift shop.

Sasha Witte

Wonderful tour guide!

Lauro Guerra Jr

Nice little museum with information regarding the flag that inspired the poem that became the national anthem of the U.S.A. It's not the Smithsonian, but if you're interested in history, it's worth to see the historical site.
