An excellent museum for understanding the bay culture and how important the rivers were to earlier generations that lived here. The museum also has a nice exhibit on the indigenous population prior to European settlement in Havre de Grace. Also, the gift shop has a good selection of bay-themed gifts.

Krissy Howard

We went for story time and it was real nice. The folks working were kind and friendly. My kids had a great time.

Loved all the artifacts and the the compass display was awesome as was the speed boat. Only issue was that the sign said $9 per family. We did have a big family but we ended up paying for three families as there is a 2 adult max per family. The Mark 2 looks cool.

Bill Marcus

We find the staff friendly, the exhibits interesting and, at least when we visited it, they had a exhibit on Captain John Smith. When scouting out the rivers Havre De Grace happened to be the most northern point of his exploration. A LOT of history in such a small town!

Really nice, small maritime museum, when I visited (1/15/17) it had a great exhibit about Capt. John Smith's exploration of the Northern Bay looking for the Northwest passage it had a lot of very interesting information about the state of Native American Civilization at the time of his contact. Many well made models of skipjacks and other working vessels of the Chesapeake Bay, that they use as centerpieces to help explain the various ways that people worked and played during the heyday of the working Chesapeake.

Gina Rodkey

$4.00 per adults and $9.00 per family. But in my opinion it is all for a good cause.

Love this place. Come visit this small but we'll kept and displayed museum. Watch folks working on boats, go to a program at the new educational center or go for live music.

Another sensational Havre De Grace museum. This one is so well organized, clean and laid-out that it only adds to the wonderful collection they have to exhibit. From early Native American inhabitants to the nautical history of the area, these well designed exhibits do justice to their themes. The readings placed with the exhibits are not too lengthy and they are helpful. The artifacts are in excellent condition as well. A really good thing to do in the town. Very cheap.

Something to do in Havre de Grace, and it relies on donations of visitors to keep it alive! What did a few dollars before you go so that you can keep this institution around for future generations and young ones in the area to have something to do...particularly when it's really hot out and you need to escape to the air-conditioning of this place. Electricity isn't completely free you know!
