DESCRIPTION

Here you will be able to see the information of real people like you who know the products and services of Sandy Spring Museum (Museum) in Maryland.

Right now the business gets a score of 4.9 stars out of 5 and the rating has been based on 17 reviews.

As you can read, its rating is virtually the best, and it's founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may think that the rating is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they are happy with the service, it works.

As you know, we do not usually stop to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Museum is included in the category of Cultural center.

REVIEWS OF Sandy Spring Museum IN Maryland

I am interested in early automobiles from the time I was a little kid. Probably that is why a visit to this place did not disappoint me. On the contrary, it fascinated me - well maintained premises, knowledgeable staff and amazing expositions.

The Sandy Spring Museum would not be here, were it not for the inspiration of a local auctioneer who came to the realization that the area was loosing its history (and memory?) as he over saw the sale of the contents of the old farmhouses to folks who were taking it all away..... If the exhibits seem smaller than in the past (no more antique cars, see review below), it is only because there are "bills to pay" and inviting folks in to "do stuff" helps to make the museum "relevant" to the new neighbors. As has been noted in the past, Sandy Spring is more of an attitude than a mere area. Come in and remember from whence we came, so as to better appreciate where we might be going.

jewel of a local history museum with great exhibits, activities and even summer camp sessions. Local art & cultural center.

This is not a typical museum with items under glass and do not touch signs. Beyond the interesting art work and on-site artists at work in their studios, it has wonderful wonderful programs and presentations in a relaxed atmosphere. The programs are quite varied and exceptional given this is a small museum.

Sandy Spring Museum has wonderful local history about the Quaker involvement in helping enslaved people. We attended an event with Cheryl LaRoche who curated an exhibit at the National Museum of African American History & Culture. She did a book signing of her book Free Black Communities. She encouraged the Sandy Spring Museum Supporters to do the work to turn this museum into a National Park because of its rich history.
