You will be able to see all the opinions of people who know the products and services of Patuxent River Naval Air Museum (Museum) near to the state of Maryland.
Now the business gets a score of 4.7 stars out of 5 and that score was based on 350 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is practically the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may think that the evaluation is very accurate. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to set opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum belongs to the category of Museum.
Nice exhibits, friendly staff. The new building has some nice stuff. Two flight simulators are running, it'll be cool when that they're all up
Very intetesting and always changing
Must walk around and read all the data!
I was stationed there from 1982 to 1985. Back then there was nothing but the base.
Great place to learn about history.
Great museum, very unique selection of aircraft including the new f-35. Some exhibits need more signage to interpret but the volunteer staff are more than excellent and have a great depth of knowledge about the interesting displays.
A little small but jam packed. The second building was closed due too flooding. So I couldn't give 4 stars
Nice little museum. Still growing but worth the trip if you're nearby.
Had a great time at wedding and walking around the planes with my kids
Very cool place to go!
Awesome experience, I highly recommend visiting.
Awesome
Cute museum and friendly staff
Great place to take the kids. They love seeing and touching the big planes in person. Its also nice because it is not a gigantic museum that takes all day; its great for a quick thing to do.
Will be great with new location
Very nice and great diring the summer
Awesome museum, cheap entry fee, great gift shop. Plenty of cool planes to see. The inside is a work in progress, but definitely worth going.
The flight sim was super fun loved it. The planes were really impressive and the guys that talked there were super nice. I loved the experience.
Cool and interesting. Definitely worth going at least once.
Very interesting museum and collection of planes.
Slightly expensive for what it is. The flight simulators are a lot of fun though.
This is a pretty cool museum. Admittance fee is pretty cheap (think I paid 7 bucks) and it was worth it. If you're a fan of military aircraft, this is definitely a place to stop when in Lexington Park. The displays inside are very informative. None of them are interactive though. The displays outside are worn but still impressive.
This was a special trip for my kiddos for school. They enjoyed seeing all the old airplanes and learnig about the how they where used in the Navy. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about things. Definitely recommend this anyone who home schools or just loves planes.
Nice little museum to visit. $9 per adult. Lots of planes.
Good lecture given. Interesting exhibits at location. Easy to find and memorable location.
The museum had about 30 aircraft of varied types. It also told of the airfield's history and of the astronauts who trained there. Most of the aircraft were outdoors and had little explanatory information. I especially liked the full-scale model of the first naval aircraft.
Got a personalized tour from retired test pilot. Fantastic!
Awesome!
Great place to spend a cold day.
Great place...wonderful history
Great staff interesting museum
Not as good as the museums in Warner Robins Ga and Pensacola Fl but it held its own. If you happen to be in southern Maryland give it a visit but don't make a special trip just to go see it.
It has it's own zip code!
Evening meeting
Check out the actual simulator devices used in the museum. Nice compact museum.
I live less than an hour away from this museum and just found out about it a couple weeks ago. I went the first chance I got and am glad I did! There are two buildings and an outdoor area. Building B is getting some more displays coming soon. Lots of macro displays with good info and very helpful and kind volunteer staff. Paid $14 for two people with the military discount. Children under 5 get in free. Clean and beautiful museum. Well worth the visit!
I think it is a great museum and I visit it all the time since I live in the area. walking around outside is great too.
A rare opportunity to see so many of these aircraft in one place
Fair price for interesting museum. Allow 1-1/2 or more to see all. PS - go to CD Cafe in Solomons Island for dinner.
It is nice for the whole family, my kids love it there!!!!
It's a great place to visit for people who want to learn more about the science of flight and most specially the history of naval airplanes.
Very nice museum, lots of jets! It's not very large, but it has very interesting items. There's some flight simulators that you can do on the weekend.
Extremely interesting! Great history!
Excellent museum, great fighter jets in display. You cant wait to see this
Great place for families. Very educational and interactive.
Been going there for years. Fascinating museum about the history of Naval Aviation.
Excellent staff and fun for the whole family
Much more interesting than I thought it would be.
We enjoyed our time here. So much to see. My 4 year old loved it.
Very nice and great place to see both x-planes.
Great museum, a must see if you visit
An amazing collection of aircraft and weapons related to NAS Pax River. The museum is sighted right by the main road and has plenty of on-site parking. As soon as you enter the building you are met with aircraft on display including the X-35C (a concept demonstrator for the Joint Strike Fighter programme) and a number of missiles. Out back of the building is an array of US Navy aircraft including the V-22 Osprey, F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet and a number of older aircraft and helicopters. There is also the X-32B (Boeing’s demonstrator for JSF). The museum has a pretty large shop with a huge variety of products from Old Bay socks to aircraft prints.
Fun place to stop in to enjoy some aviation history.
Pretty cool...n fun for the kids
A small but excellent collection of aircraft that have flown at Pax River Naval Air Station. Although weather has taken its toll on some aircraft sitting outside, it is great to see and read about the aircraft that have flown in the flight test activities at Pax. Of special interest are the X-35 and the X-32, the two prototype aircraft that fought for the JSF contract, with the X-35 becoming the F-35. The X-32 was Boeing's delta wing entry into the competition that did not perform as well as it needed to, and it is on display with it's extremely unusual undernose massive engine intake. The people who are volunteers at the museum are very friendly and knowledgeable and make the whole museum come to life. Definitely a worthwhile stop.
Great display of Naval history. Lots of interactive displays too!
Cool little museum. Bring the lids, they can walk up to and touch most of the planes and exhibits.
Great little museum, worth the visit.
Self-guided tour, however curators do pop up every now and then to offer explanations or answer questions.
Outstanding place and the staff is great
Great assortment of aircraft, and great staff! my favorite air museums are the ones you can get up-close and personal with the aircraft and this place is great for this ! I drove 90 min to get here to see the CH53, the F14, and the X32B, but the other aircraft are amazing as well. Seeing the Fa-18, and the Viking was outstanding ! its at the entrance of the Patuxent River Naval base and your might have the opportunity to see flying aircraft. its a Good two to three hour to walk the whole thing.
Very informative Volunteers. Find one and ask questions. It was worth every penny? Cool to sit in an F-14 cockpit for a 30 minute simulator session.
I have been there 14 years ago and I visited to at all the airplanes that have been flying around at the airshow and it is really awesome and beautiful and I really love so much . I love going to the airshow alot For me, my girlfriend Angela also love airplanes as well . Watching the Navy Blue Angels is really awesome and beautiful, I love the way they fly . over the Navy airbase in St Mary's County .
I always admire a great air museum.
Very cool. Worth the visit if you're into planes. Flight simulator is realistic
Nice place to visit! Good information but also a lot to look at for kids to keep their interest!
Loved every moment...
If you love airplanes, it's a good spot to hang out. Plus, it has an x32
Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! If you like old planes this is a great place.
Cool stuff to see.
Interesting and enjoyable museum. Not huge, but I was there for 2‐3 hours taking in all of the exhibits. The outside exhibits need some serious maintenance/preservation.
Awesome place. Guides are extremely nice and knowledgeable.
Nice place to see Historical Flight info
This is a great museum. Only $9 and an hour or two of awesome stuff to see. If you do geocaching, they have an all time high one. Very highly recommend going. Alot of the photos are the outside planes, but inside has just as much to see.
Great staff
A great place to enjoy. Friendly staff
Much bigger and nicer than expected. We will return .
Love the history
The flight simulator was a huge family hit The kids could not stop talking about it! It's nice that such a great attraction is right in our community
Fantastic place! Have taken my family at least a dozen times. It's one of our favorite places.
Fantastic displays. The docents are very knowledgeable and can answer many questions. The flight simulators, available on Saturdays, are super fun.
Great museum showing the history of Patuxent Naval Air Station
Great display of Naval flight test history.
The docent was so knowledgeable. He made the visit so meaningful.
Nice lot of naval aircraft.
Lots of cool naval air history and planes. The simulator was fun!
Great educational center that continues to improve.
Fascinating. ...great aircraft. ...nice staff!
$5 entry is money well spent
Fascinating place to see Naval Air history. Highly recommend stop when your around the PAX Naval Air Base. Well worth seeing.
Fantastic museum that tells the story of the unsung heroes of Navy flight test.
It's got big planes and a whole host of enthusiastic blokes to tell you about them.
Awesome staff.
Will go back when it’s no so cold.
Love the new additions. Love how they have organized everything. Love the history.
Cool place
Amazing collection of naval test and experimental aircraft including the X-32 and X-35 prototypes. Complements the relatively nearby Smithsonian collections which are less naval aviation centric. Well worth the price of admittance if you're interested in aviation, particularly from a flight testing perspective.
While not the largest museum collection ever, the quality is awesome. The static displays are worth the price of admission alone. Great people and good quality museum for any lovers of aviation or naval history.
Great museum with a lot of displays and friendly volunteers.
Small and focused on local air history
Super cool place with great staff!!!
If you like Navy aviation, this is a place to see
Berry nice wish there was more activities for kids
Take a tour you'll like it.
Good place to visit while in town
Great place for kids to learn about the base.
Fascinating aviation history, featuring planes that flew out of PAX.
Nice museum. Aircraft displays are good. The simulators are great. The sim operators are awesome!
Great variety of displays, educational, and interactive!
Cool place
Great volunteers who are a wealth of information!
Friendly greeting upon entrance. Great docents, extremely knowledgable. Flight simulator, with "real" cockpit was a treat, I flew the F/A18D, great fun! Examples of Navy aircraft, old and relatively new.
Note huge but we killed an hour there while waiting, nice gift shop but a relatively small museum. They have some unique planes you won't see anywhere else though.
This is a wonderful and informative facility. Glad we stopped in. You need to visit both museum buildings, watch the video about it, and the outdoor aircraft exhibit. Well worth the stop!
Amateur Radio field day & the museum is right up my AIRDALE alley
A lot of history.
Had great time there
Nice place. Has the Boeing version of F-35, which should be inside and taken good care. Noone is making more of those...
Very nice facility...great visit
Lot to learn & see but the museum will catch you up on the history.
Very informative, love the gift shop.
Comprehensive collection of airforce memorabilia, old planes and equipment.
Truly an amazing museum! So much Naval Aviation and Space history in one location.
Some awesome planes on display
I was there yr 2 yes ago wt a ex . around easter my lill girl loved it. We took so many pics we had a blast
Really cool aviation museum with some very unique aircraft. Not the largest but still a descent selection. The gift shop is really cool and had a large selection of kids airplanes and helicopters.
Many many planes that were used for test at NAS. From old to current.. Includes an XF35, and the almost XF35.
Excellent museum with one of a kind aircraft that can't be seen anywhere else.
Go! It's awesome!
Small and some displays under construction, but a great little museum of Navy aviation and test flight.
Great place to visit for a close look at the aircraft. Plenty of historical Naval Aviation platforms, as well as one of the only two X-32B JSF prototypes. Highly recommend paying this museum a visit if you find yourself in the area.
Great knowledgeable and friendly staff
Neat little museum with a large selection of actual aircraft.
I love the new expansion! Really top notch displays, and a great staff.
Nice facility. Great family fun. Disappointed a Naval Museum would not honor a Veterans discount.
Very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable staff. The volunteer staff are fantastic. Awesome displays! The large model aircraft carrier is very impressive.
Love the historic and modern aircraft. The simulator was closed when we went but I've heard it's awesome. Definitely checking it out next time.
Some nice historical aircraft, but the flight simulator was inoperative.
Great historical displays. Fun flight simulator.
Very cool museum. Old planes in rough shape, but a little gold mine of information. Very nice staff.
Very cool
The museum was really cool! The guides were very friendly and very knowledgeable. Make sure you go on a Saturday when the simulators are open
Wonderful museum, the staff is highly knowledgeable. Sid was a great wealth of information.
Great experience!
Pretty solid museum. A lot of history about St. Mary's and Patuxent River. You can go in the back and look at the old trainers/prototypes as well. They are slowly getting more stuff in, but it's a nice little place to go to once.
PRNAM had an Awesome aircraft display & a very nice souvenir shop!
Very cool, only place with an x-32
This is a very nice museum. The docents are very kind and knowledgable. This is a museum for airplane buffs! There are a few things for kids to climb on - I do wish there was more. With the exception of walking through the V-22, the mobile power generator, and the Legos our kids were not enthralled
Love this little museum. My dad and grandfather both flew off of aircraft carriers so I found this fascinating. Lots to read and look at.
Great museum. Awesome exhibits. Really showcases Navel aviation and how it has progressed.
Great adventure, with current and past Aircraft to view and even a simulator to get in. Nice gift shop. Models and actual planes and helicopters to see.
Great Museum - Friendly & Knowledgeable Staff
Family things
Great collection of aircraft, models, and exhibits, and really helpful, knowledgeable staff. Well worth the admission price!
Great tour guide
Not big but really amazing and worth the $10 entrance.
Great little museum. Worth a visit if your in the area
