I love local museums with just enough to hold my attention
Great little museum. Only five dollar admission for adults.
Very nice shark display on the outside of the building. On the inside the staff are nice and it was nice learning some local history!!
A bit pricey, but still a cool and interesting museum.
Cute little place. If you have AAA let them know before hand.
Great views
Always such a pleasure to have an informative and well put together little museum right here!
Good family fun
It's a must see when visiting ocean city
One of our favorite spots in OC. Kid friendly, with a scavenger hunt that includes a prize!
Our 1st day in OC and this was the 1st stop on our list. The kids did the scavenger hunt through the museum which i thought was a nice touch as the kids truly enjoyed themselves. The staff were personable and funny. Will return in the future!
Really nice museum
Get view of inlet, plus sharks for kids
Nice area for picks especially when the suns coming down
Very interesting little museum. Gives you history on Ocean City as well
Born and raised in Ocean City but only visited this restored 19th century station for the first time today. It’s a must-see for fellow history nerds, especially if you enjoy Victorian era destinations.
Great place
Amazing
Graet tourist attraction.
This is a relocated Lifesaving Station building at the southern-most end of the Ocean City boardwalk. Completely restored, this museum contains displays of the history of Ocean City, creation of the Inlet, the building and expansion over the years as well as a room with the old rescue equipment. This place has an educational scavenger hunt for kids and adults set up on clipboards at the start of the displays. Finishing finding everything listed gets you a pin or some other award. The room that used to be a kitchen has multiple salt water tanks with horseshoe crabs, fish, eels, seahorses and pipefish. There is a display of sand from beaches around the world and old fashioned swimsuits, along with a variety of surfboards and surf mat. Murals describing the evolution of surfing on the island are on the walls of an upstairs room The equipment room has the surf boat used and equipment for launching a line out to the ships stranded on the reef. There are displays and murals with first person accounts of the rescues. Upstairs will be more history of the beach town and the original families that made the town what it is today. There are artifacts from the old amusement parks and "Laughing Sal" - an automaton that used to be in the fun house and will laugh when you push the button. The building isn't set up as if a crew could come in and relax from a rescue. Except for the equipment room, most of the rooms are dedicated to museum displays about the resorts' history. You also enter into the museum through the gift shop. Very comprehensive museum. Gives a terrific overview of the history of Ocean City. For a life station that is set up like it was when in operation, visit the Indian River Inlet Lifesaving Station north of this one, just over the bridge of the Indian River Inlet in Delaware. That one has a separate gift shop and you walk out to explore the original station with the beds made up, kitchen set-up and equipment displays.
Interesting exhibit for a very reasonable entry fee. If you have a child with you, they do a scavenger hunt to make it interesting for them as well.

Nice little spot at the end of the boardwalk that you can see some fun facts and watch the fishing boats come back into the inlet.
Was good but difficult to enjoy with a really little kid. They have a scavenger hunt for older kids.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! Its so much fun for the family! If you visit the boardwalk, this is a must do!!! Tells you all the history of oc!! Love the artifacts!

Small museum with history of OC. Worth a stop only if you are in to that sort of stuff. It will get you out of the weather for a break.

This is the best deal on the boardwalk. I have never been to a better small museum. My daughter loved feeding the horseshoe crab and the little kid area. The prices in the gift shop are also the best around. My wife and I loved it as well. A+ 5 stars.
Very friendly with younger people; the employees were well informed and well kept. Would definitely visit again.
Was amazing to see the history of the area so well preserved
Beautiful view
Nice display, although a little on the small side, and a great view onto the nearby island. A near mandatory visit on the boardwalk.

Memories of days past...
This is a great museum to visit on a rainy day!
Very relaxing place to sit for a few minutes
Loved the capture of a small part of oc history.
Pretty neat historical building. First time there on a field trip with my girls. Interesting stuff for sure!
Nice place. Want to go back
Well, we stood beside it.
A little history of an obscure sort. Worthwhile
Lots of things to see & do. Special scavenger game for kids.
We only saw the stuff on the board walk. The price didn't seem worth It, to go inside during the day.
We went in thinking this was just about OC lifeguarding and were pleasantly surprised to find a history of OC MD museum. Very interesting if you love OCMD like we do!
Awesome place.
Was interesting
Love this very informative, quaint little museum.
Cool
Nice
A good place to see some history of the ocean located in a prime spot.
I sooo loved this place. Admission is 5 dollars to enter this small museum for adults. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They have a small aquarium on the first floor and displays and artifacts all throughout. They have a second floor with more displays. I came upon this museum by accident but I learned from this museum the hard work and sacrifice these people made during that time to save other lives. Hard work that was not easy during all kinds of storms and weather. Five stars for this place and those heroes who helped others and rescued lives.
Great piece of history
Always loved going there for The Boardwalkin' Pets event every April!!!
If you want a real museum go to DC or New York
I was actually grateful for a rainy day otherwise we would not have discovered this delightful museum. I learned so much about the fascinating history of Ocean City, the heroic sea rescues, the beginnings of the boardwalk so much more! With a really fun and clean kid's room, aquariums and scavenger hunts for all ages it's a great spot to bring kids. I especially enjoyed the sand collection with sand from Antarctica to Iceland! This is really a must-see, located right at the end of the boardwalk and very reasonably priced.
We come every year, at least once. This year it's been three times for me. It is only a few dollars to get in, and you will find that it is packed full of memorable exhibits on shipwreck history, timelines of lifesaving, appreciation for ocean life, and a archive of Ocean City's history and roots. It's important to know yesterday, to appreciate what we have today. The staff is always helpful and welcoming. It is also certainly family friendly. Kids will enjoy a shark scavenger hunt - our girls look forward to it every year. Stop in and learn the story of Ocean City Maryland's yesterday.
Very interesting history of OC on display. Friendly and informative staff.
I was impressed by the aquariums, fun history and displays inside. I have walked by so many times and never realized all the treasures inside. The employees are so kind and have a great knowledge about the history.
Intimate
Interesting place to visit. A lot of fun facts to learn. Neat place to bring the kids.
Classic Boardwalk.
A great time capsule for anyone wanting to know the origins of Ocean City MD. Interactive fun and lots to see and learn. Self guided tour allows you to take your time and take it all in. The surf room is very cool. Kids can go on a scavenger hunt to show what they learned and get a cool prize. The bookstore / gift shop has things you won't find at the other souvenir shops.
Interesting information here. Neat little museum.
Loved it
It was a nice Boardwalk
Educational and historic. Well worth the visit.
Always fun to visit! Love the boardwalk!!!
Nice memorabilia
Great for little ones too. They give the kids a scavenger hunt and it's cute!
Good spot to visit if you have nothing to do or bad weather. Not too much to see, but kinda interesting, kids will like it.
A great little museum with activities for kids. Worth the trip.
Very cool
Excelent Museam! Quality exihibits cover the history of the Life-Saving profession and the history of the island. For $3, it is a steal of a deal. Plus, a unique collection of sands from all over the world. Entrance is through the museam's gift shop.
Awesome place to have fun and learn about virtual gaming. 100% worth it
Very friendly staff. Enjoyed learning about the history of the station and OC.
You will see the beginning to now of the start of ocean city
Very kid friendly. The gift shop attendant was very helpful and was great at getting my kids involved in the museum scavenger hunt. On the adult side, a lot of neat information about the history of saving lives from the ocean. The cost is $5 per adult and under 11 is free. The prices in the gift shop aren't too terrible. Worth checking out! Oh, and the A/C works really well!! :)
Had a great time as always! The sand area was surprisingly clean and food was tasty everywhere you go.
Great history
This place was great did a little scavenger hunt kids wone shark teeth for finishing it and we learned alot very cute and quaint and the girls working there are top notch
Lots of history, still open during the winter.
Nice place to go and kill some time. Scavenge hunt was fun and educational for the kids. Not much of an aquarium though and bathroom had a pretty bad odor in it.
Part of our walk to end of boardwalk where life saving station is then turn around and walk back to 14th street awesome exersize and view of the Ocean!
Great presentation of sea creatures getting fed. Our whole family loves this museum.
Fun to see how things have changed , We loved looking around.

Great to learn about rescue services that were in place before the US Coast Guard.
Interesting!
Love this museum. Great place to get out of the heat and learn interesting local history.
Nice little museum to visit in OC
Favorite stop in OC. Military discount, scavenger hunt and a nice gift shop.
This is a very nice museum. We visited it for our daughter's education trip while on vacation.
Do it, they have sand from all over the world. Great history to check out about OCMD.
Really fun place to check out! We did the scavenger hunts for both young kids and big kids and learned a lot about what it took to save lives back in the day. There is some great items of historical significance specific to Ocean City and it was very interesting to see how people have enjoyed the island over the years. If you have ever wondered what the sand of different beaches from all over the world look like, look no further, because they have samples here that come in a range of color and coarseness. The aquarium room is small but has some really cool species that can be found locally in the wild and the kids were so excited to see everything so close. The kids also had fun putting on the captain hat for a picture in the kids room where they also had a chance to “save” a stuffed bear. We had a lot of fun here and it also served as a good place to ride out the brief squall that was happening outside.
Great place
Love that place
Beautiful & informative
It's great
Fun and educational
This is a must see museum. Very interesting exhibits and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Wish they included fire and police in there discount and offers with the military service. I dont understand why they dont...
Very interesting museum
Very educational
Nice place to visit with the family
Informative and in a really attractive location
This fun little museum offered a lot of insight on the history of ocean city, along with many fun activities for kids of all ages and even adults. The customer service was absolutely outstanding and everyone there seemed to be in a good mood. The museum arouses a certain nostalgia inside of everyone who enters and the employees certainly play a part in that. On top of all that, the prices are ridiculously low for such a fun time and children 11 and under are completely free to get in. I highly recommend anyone visiting ocean city to stop by this place and check it out. It will be worth your time.
Very informative museum with a very passionate staff. We all thought it was interesting and had a great time.
Always very interesting.
Nice place. Good ambience. Good for kids
Great place
This is one of those “hidden in plain sight” gems. Dirt cheap to check out, worth every penny, and gives you a complete history of not only the life saving station, but the whole of Ocean City, the boardwalk and it’s many attractions. It makes a great rainy day activity, and should be a must visit place for anyone who comes to Ocean City regularly!
Staff was very friendly! Very steep stairs to upper floor was rough on my bad knee, but worth the admission.
Awesome
We needed to incorporate educational activities during our vacation for our homeschooler. He was 9 when we visited here and it was age appropriate. A cheap and interesting look into the local history. Thank you.
It's so beautiful. Catch a trolly ride the boardwalk and stop at shops. It was busy when I was there but so nice.
We had a great time we walk the hole Broadwell it is 5 miles long.Thay had games and rides we had are dogs with use and they had a great time too they are sleep now. They have all kinds of food there was a lot of different kinds of dogs big and small the last day for the dogs to be on the boardwalk is the last day of may they have all kinds of shops so go to Ocean city MD.
Great place for knowledge of the area
The history of the men who worked there.
