This is a hidden gem in Baltimore. Beautifully restored and lovingly cared for, our tour guide was fantastic. This historic site is really with a trip while in Baltimore

Mount Clare Museum House is a gem hidden in plain site! This is one of the few historic homes in the Baltimore area I had never been to, but it is definitely worth a visit. It’s especially beautiful around Christmas when it’s all decorated for the holidays with greenery everywhere. We enjoyed the educational film and the tour from our passionate docent. There’s a cute little gift shop and the views of downtown Baltimore are amazing.

Mount Clare is a historical gem in the city. A wonderful site that is not to be missed! Many of the items belonged to Charles Carroll, Barrister and his wife, Margaret, and the ones that do not, are well placed period pieces!

I never knew that some of the property was under water. At what time was this, And where did the water go too,That is a lot of water.

A great Colonial era mansion, and originally the home of Charles Carroll, Barrister. This is a terrific small museum to visit if you love history.

I went at 11am this morning. No answer when to ringing the bell or knocking multiple times. At 11:20 I finally left. There were 3 others also waiting. I will file a complaint with the City of Baltimore. Unless there is a valid excuse, the staff should be disciplined and management should have had a backup plan, so management needs the counseled.

A beautiful mansion on top of a well positioned hill and visible to anyone on route 1 and Monroe Street is one of the few remaining buildings let alone mansions in the state of Maryland! This historic site has had past first ladies, presidents, and congressmen. One in particular is Martha Washington the wife of our first president George Washington. She was so inspired by Mount Clair's green house (that was the first green house with tropical and exotic plants in the US!) that she made the first green house in the White House! Another thing that the mansion is known for is the gardens and land! The original building still stands but, many repairs have been made and additions have been added and removed. The house is filled with the original families belongings! The belongings of the Carroll family look brand new! More and more pieces of the families belongs are added regularly. Charles Carroll's baby crib to chamber pot are in the house! The tour guides are amazing and help kids learn about the mansion and the Carroll family. The mansion has a discount price with the B&O Railroad Museum making it easy to get to after a quick train ride to the mansion's train dock. This is a great place to visit if you come to Baltimore because it has survived 3 wars and is still standing beautifully! Not to mention you can walk where all the famous people before you have walked!
