Outstanding museum! A must see for anyone looking for a bit of Baltimore and U.S. history. Learn about a part of U.S. history that is just not taught in the schools any more. I came across this place and spent the next hour reading about Maryland in the Civil War on Wikipedia. Don't miss this place.

This is a neat little museum that covers the very specific topic of Baltimore's role in the civil war. The station itself is also historic as a RR junction point. There is also a little display relating to the Winchester riffle and the banjo (the only? instrument invented in America). Very conveniently located, and admission is cheap. Check it out!

Loved it. Great place to learn about civil war history, and Baltimore. It's small inside but huge on history. The gentleman who is at the front desk is a gem.

Paul Allen is a great museum curator and the museum itself is a nice establishment that offers a very good interpretation of the civil war and what it was like in not only Baltimore (it still tells of its affects in the city)

Great museum detailing Baltimore Civil War history. The museum is run by volunteers and only has a $3 cover charge.

We came yesterday before their posted closing and they had closed two hours early. We came today at ten, the posted time of opening and no one was here. We waited an hour and no one showed up. We called the number on their site and it is out of order. Very dissatisfied.

Cute, cheap, small museum! $3 to get in, the guy at the front desk was friendly, and it was wasn't the most organized place but it was nice stop while walking through the city.

Very informative

Small, but informative of facts that may be glossed over in the bigger Civil War lessons. Worth the time to learn more about the early days of the War and Baltimore's role.

This is the best hidden gem of the city! I took my son and I here today for one of the greatest museum moments we've had together. Mr. Paul Allen is such a kind, attentive, and well versed in History especially Baltimore history. My son Dominic and Paul had quite the conversation about President Lincoln. If you love history like we do then by all means go visit the museum. Thank you again Paul Allen for your hospitality, and kindness. Bill Lanasa Baltimore Md

Both the website and the signs on the door said it would open at 10am. We waited outside until 10:20 and still no one showed up to start the day. We weren't the only ones to wait and then walk away.

Paul Allen is the most enthusiastic museum curator I've met. He took the time to get to know us in order to share what we'd find interesting in the museum. We learned so much about Frederick Douglass that we found a new appreciation for the Civil War and the role Baltimore played. We highly recommend visiting Paul!

Very interesting local history

Very cute little museum, lots of interesting facts about Baltimore's history back in the Civil war era. And the gentleman volunteer staff member was very kind. Thank you!
