We have the reviews of real people who have information of the products of B&O Railroad Museum (Museum) in Maryland area.
At present the firm gets a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and that rating was based on 1337 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is almost the top, and it's founded on a large number of scores, so we may conclude that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum is included in the category of Rail museum.
It was fun learning about all the trains.
A wonderful place to take your children to go see Thomas and Friends.
Experience was amazing. Went with a 2 year old and a 5 year old and they were both equally entertained, as were the adults. You MUST do the train ride, it was worth it. Didnt like that the 1st class tickets were, "white"...bruh, of all the colors to choose from!
Went for the Thomas the Train event, lots of fun for the kids with some really cool picture moments. Any train hobbyist should not miss.
B&O Railroad Museum, has excellent service and good staff. My experience was very unique. I'll definitely keep coming.
Excellent museum with stupendous curation. The train excursion, however, is quite lacking.
Great place..something for everyone. Free parking..a lot to dee. I'd budget three hours to see most of thebthings. Interesting temp exhibits that change, quirky cool giftshop. Plenty of outdoor exhibits to see and photograph too. Great family place to visit...
Excellent place for learning about train history. Good fun for the kids and anyone who loves trains. The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable and they know everything about trains. Hiighly Recommend!!
Had a great time here and love supporting their cause.
We actually came for the Thomas the train event and had a blast! The museum was really nice and interactive there was alot to do for the kids. We brought ours, ages 1,2,&5. They all had so much fun and were sad to leave.
A lovely staff and fun family-friendly events
Very nice, free off street parking a plus!
The customer service here was absolutely amazing. My husband and I were meeting our son's godparents at the Thomas the Train event today and were given excellent guidance with purchasing a ticket and even walked over to the gift shop. When my son's hat blew off, Claude retrieved it for him as we walked back to the entrance. We had to leave to get lunch while we waited for the other party. Upon our return, Jordan was helpful with making sure we found our friends and as a woman walked by, her baby dropped it's pacifier. Jordan returned it to the mom with a smile. It's important to highlight how much time and patience was given by Claude and Jordan because if it weren't for them, the day would have been a mess trying to figure out everything that my friends and I planned poorly. The museum itself is impressive. The Thomas event was full of families and fun activities for everyone. Great experience!
Great museum, tons of history. We recently attended the Polar Express Train Ride. It was nice but not worth the cost. The train ride experience has room for improvement and creativity.
Went decade(s) ago. RoundHouse (turning engines, etc) with older trains on exhibit. Good for some kids and adults, pre video game age, I guess.. could now take metroRail to Union Station, MARC train up, say Camden, (weekend would be Penn line and station only) light rail down and walk some (q? Areas?) Trying all sorts of types of trains along the way. Amtrak back costs more but timing and bigger train. Disabled reduces costs, not sure about kid price. Fwiw, I was an engineering student, ymmv
Great place to see railroad engines and rolling stock including this clearance car
Fantastic collection of EARLY steam engines!
Really enjoyed the day and the experience. A lot to see and learn.
Great museum. We visit a lot of train museums and this one stands out. The inside of the roundhouse is GORGEOUS. They have several civil war era trains. We loved this museum.
Great place for a family day. I’d go back again
Went to see Thomas, everything was very well organized and it was a really cool museum too.
Very nice museum. Alot of nice trains.
Interesting and fun. Really detailed and a lot of reading, but fun if you like old trains.
It is amazing that there are so many exhibits. They do a great job of preserving railroading's past.
If you like trains especially steam locomotives this is a great place. They have guided tours of two buildings and a train ride. You could easily spend the entire day but plan on a minimum of 2 hours if you just walk around with no tours and no train ride. Outside near parking is multiple unrestored cars/engines but inside - the restoration is excellent. B&O was the first significant railroad in the US. It was quite large and involved in the Civil War. Multiple engines from the pre 1850's and Civil War era on display . Not too much post 1960's era ie after the first generations of diesel. The B&O had the first train robbery - ice cream in the Civil War!
We came here cause my daughter loves trains, and this is the perfect place for that. Not only can you see trains, but there's a ton of interaction available as well as education. And they have special events, such as the visit of Thomas the Tank Engine, which was a very fun event. I highly recommend this museum for any age
Really outside of the fact this is located on the edge of some questionable neighborhoods the history and exhibitions are amazing!
My partner and I swung by here on our way out of Baltimore. It was kind of fun driving in and around the car parked in the parking lot.
So many trains to see! A group of us (all adults) spent an easy 3 hours there. Definitely recommend it. You get to board old trains too.
Enjoyed the museum but it dont take the 2 hours they say it takes. Went at my own pace and took 1 hour. The $40 is too much but ne better at $15 or $20.
Had a great time with Thomas and friends, lovely Museum of railroad history. Great place to visit very interesting very informative very all inspiring to realize how small you are next to a real train.
Great museum for a train lover. Sometimes they have Thomas the Tank Engine shows, which are always a blast. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the best, but the museum is surrounded by a fence. There is a little store on site, where you can buy souvenirs. All in all, a nice experience for us.
My son enjoyed the train ride. But was bored just looking at trains. My boyfriend is a train nut and really enjoyed all the variety. Especially the shop outside.
Free parking and great setup for walking around to see the Maine trains. I spent about an hour walking around after a business trip in the area.
Great place for kids who like trains to go to. My nephew loved it.
Really enjoy this place, it has one of the largest collection of trains and etc here, you want to get here early to take your time and see everything here.
Went for the Thomas event, but the museum itself was a great attraction. Kids loved it. Staff was knowledgeable and eager to share fun facts.
This place was amazing and had great history stories to go along with it. They have plenty of trains to view and even trains that you can walk on. A nice kids play area. We also went on a train ride and the conductors were great. I was shocked to see how clean their restrooms are and that they have a nursing station set aside for nursing mothers. Great experience and we will definitely be back.
Without the skin of a doubt, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum is one of the best railroad museums in the country. A stunning collection of historic locomotives and rolling stock, cheap admission, friendly staff and a historic atmosphere all combine to make an unforgettable experience. So much so, I wouldn't mind being dragged through the streets of Baltimore to see this. Song references aside, If you're a Railfan and are in the area, the B&O Railroad Museum is well worth the visit.
I love all of the fun things they have! My kids had a blast and so did I!!
History of of the trains iron horse was great. My father and uncle and my grandfather worked for the B & O THIRTIES AND FORTIES
Kid friendly. Fun place. I was here for an event, so can't speak much for the museum experience..
Me and my children went their and enjoyed ourselves, so much history and so many trains to look at,were able to get up and personal with many of the trains, will be going back
Love it. Great history lesson. Make sure u ride the train and first class.
Super fun place. We had a holiday party there. The staff were wonderful and had some fun things like a carousel and crafts for kids!
Amazing place alive with history starting at horse drawn carriages through steam through diesel on to Acela. Walk through the roundhouse of history.then outside to tracks full of real trains and even take a ride on one. During the holidays os the best ever. No matter how old your kids are, or the kid in you will keep coming back... and oh yeah, a birthday party on the real train, in the playground or in the party house. Been coming back for decades.
Wonderfully well kept museum with great displays! A must for any rail fan or anyone with an interest in history
The B&O nice for family and children.
We love it here and have a membership everyone who works there is super friendly, the kids area is great and of course the big trains are fascinating if you are into that! We did the north shop this time and my daughter loved sitting in the engine turning wheels and levers!
This is a beautiful place hidden in Baltimore where a lot of people think it's bad city to visit. The Museum is not too far from downtown area to its east. However if you go a little farther to its west it can be a quite different scene. The museum has done a great job to display quite a few various locomotives from the past. It would be a nice place for the kids to learn our train and transportation development history.
Best train museum I've ever been too
An absolute must-see if you have any interest in trains at all. Worth the time. Free parking on premises too. They also offer a train ride which was worth the visit alone.
Great place to visit however, if I had one criticism is the prices for kids were the same as the adults. We took our two Grand kids ages 2 and 4 which we paid over $100. These prices will deter larger families from coming out which in the long run this Musem will miss out on much needed dollars.
It has information about th railroads, you can see and enter some trains it was wounderfull.
Great for all ages. You can see and learn about historic trains and how they were used. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Lots of fun things for the kids to do! We love coming on the first Tuesday of the month for Thrifty Tuesday! The staff are very helpful and willing to show us around, the kids can collect stamps from the 10 stamping stations, and get a free prize on their way out! I've also been here without kids for holiday events and it's a really lovely venue for work parties, etc!
The roundhouse is very cool and makes very a unique experience. They have many trains on display and the staff is very helpful
Great place for getting about the history of trains. There were a lot of interactive exhibits. Lots of fun for children, but entertaining for adults too! Accommodating staff, don't forget to ask questions. These people know everything about trains.
Had wonderful time with my lover when we toured.
Amazing collection of locomotives including those from the earliest days which I can look at all day. A tour of the workshop was given at 1pm. Parking is free but the surrounding streets look a little less than affluent although it didn't look unsafe.
Excellent place for learning about train history. Good fun for the kids. The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable and they know everything about trains. I really enjoyed at this place. Highly Recommend!!
Such an amazing piece of American history. Great place to bring the kids and learn a thing or two
Hard to get downtown and the parking lot was a maze... but our son was beyond thrilled for Thomas Day
We were there for a special event, Thomas the tank engine train ride... but we had full access to the museum. There were a lot of interactive displays. Lots of fun for children, but definitely interesting for adults too!
The B&O is a beautiful museum with lots of great history. Elementary kids take field trips here and do some hands on activities. Might not be the most exciting museum for your young children on your own. The science center and aquarium will hold their attention more strongly.
Loved it except the fact that they only had a vending machine for snacks. We thought there was food in the museum, it was late when we realized it was only open during weekends. :( But still the exhibits are amazing. My son spent the bulk of his time playing in the caboose.
Great for old and young alike. Many varied exhibits make for an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!
Awesome historical train museum. 1 year old liked it and so did I. Gets hot in summer since no air conditioning. Ample parking.
This place is phenomenal for anyone from a train enthusiast to someone who merely knows what trains are.
It was amazing to see all the old trains.
Great exhibit... A must see when you are in town.
I had my 5th grade graduation here #James Mchenry
The museum has models of trains from across the years that help learn how the railways developed. Indoor, older models and outdoor, newer models made a great collection. The miniature models and galleries were stunning!
Went to Thomas the train event was way over priced and workers were let's just say less then thrilled to be there. $24 a person(age 2 to adult, younger then 2 not allowed) n that's just for a 20 minute round trip ride. My son enjoyed but way way over priced.
wonderful place to visit. everyone is very friendly and extremely helpful.
Look for coupons online, but at Christmas time this is one of Baltimore’s best and affordable attractions. The holiday trains and $6 rides with Santa make adults and kids feel the spirit of the season. The roundhouse has been beautifully restored and highlights Baltimore’s railroad history. PARKING ONSITE TOO!
Day out with Thomas event was awesome for any 5 yo who loves the show- get there early and take a pic as you board.
We had a wonderful visit to the B&O Train Museum. We are Maryland Zoo members, so we used the reciprocal special for this month to visit the train museum for free! My son will be 2 next month and he loved the toddler play area and the carousel ride! We are looking forward to future visits!
Unlike other rail museums, this museum has full size rail cars, in addition to miniature models. Some civil war era rail cars are arranged in a "roundhouse" building, with placards explaining their history. Don't miss the rail cars in the parking lot. Some of them carried famous people such as President Lincoln. Visiting the parking lot portion is free. They also offer a 1-mile train ride on the first mile of B&O Railroad. The ride is narrated, but there isn't much new information, and the old MARC train is in poor condition. I do not recommend this train ride.
Loved the museum... it is a must see if you are wanting to learn about the history of the railroad in America and how it shaped the country.
Very interesting afternoon out. Worth a visit
My son and I visited for their annual Thomas and Friends exhibition and train ride. Absolute 5 stars!!!! ❤❤❤
Got to ride Thomas the train from B&O to the bottom of 600 S. Catherine St. United iron and metal, where my old BPD patrol post was. 64 years old and my first train ride.
Great place for those who love trains
A little expensive at $20 a head but a little boys dream come true. Having a 3 year old really brought the magic of a train station to life for him. My son walked in an was speechless. It was perfect for the 15 degree weekend we had. They offered free admission for the furloughed employees which I thought was very nice indeed. They have plenty of onsite parking which I was surprised of since it was in downtown Baltimore. I was also surprised at how much history was available around the B&O rail road as well as the information for kids and adults alike. There was plenty to keep all ages entertained and even 4 or 5 wooden train tables set up in a kids area where the kids could play with Thomas the train sets. Needless to say, if you need something to do this is definitely a must if you have a toddler into trains. Worth every penny for sure. It was beautiful!
Of course I had to review my favorite museum . I absolutely recommend checking this place out special if you have kids, they will love it.
This is a great museum. I became a member this year. I love the set up, the roundhouse, the trains, the outdoor play area, the educational information, the toddler play area... it’s easy to spend over an hour at this museum and want to stay longer. From the historical information, to collecting stamps to the train ride, there are several creative ways for children (and adults) to engage at this museum. Great museum.
Another good museum , I only been here a few times and I absolutely love this place . I cant complaint the service is excellent and the staff is so friendly .
Be sure to be there by 3pm or a tour is not possible. However, you can still check out the wide range of rail cars and engines outside the museum. There are a couple centuries of cars represented and from a couple different lines B&O, C&O, Maryland and Phillidelphia. It looks as though the cars are traded out from time to time in order for others to be seen.
Enjoyed seeing old age steam engines and bogies.
Great museum with so many different types of locomotives and cars. It's really amazing to see all of the ones that have been restored and kept, as well as the historic Roundhouse. I wish they had a few more activities for kids, but there's really a ton of things to see. My son loves the HO scale displays, and the outdoor model trains.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable volunteers, lots of fun stuff in the back. It was a great day!
Me and my lil guy had a blast
Must visit while in Baltimore. Good for kids and adults alike.
Best on non-Thomas days. Lots to explore and captured the imagination of every child.
Awesome place they had a person powered bike that went on the track ! Loved this place
I love this place but I am a train guy and from Baltimore so I may be biased. The B&O Railroad is the birthplace of rail roading in our country and the Roundhouse is simply a magical building that is part time portal. Allow yourself the chance to enjoy the journey. Oh yeah there is a ton of really cool reasons there also.
Loved it. Loved it, just needed more time, ill be back some day
It was an awesome experience with my grandson to see Thomas The Tank Engine. I will definitely be back!
Great place for kids of all ages. Easy access and handy capped accessible to all exhibits. Can actually climb on some trains.
Easy access. Lots of history.
A great place to get up close to history and touch it.
A place full of history and of course trains. We even get to ride on the very first mile of track laid in this country. Outstanding amount of things to see and hear. This isn't a stuffy ol" hands off museum. Lots of stuff and see and touch as well as do.
Fun when there was Thomas the tank engine event. My son had fun riding Thomas train. Not sure if it is as fun independent of the event or not. The cost of museum entry is for $20.00.
My kids had fun riding the train and learning about the first railroad in America. We went during the Christmas time and The Museum was well decorated and lots of activities for kids. There were lots of train models.
Loved it! Best railroad museum I've been to. Great place!
Iconic museum and site in Baltimore. Rich in history, interactive exhibits, 100% fun and intrigue for everyone. It brings the history of the railway in America to life.
We took some friends visiting us from UK to this superb museum for their first visit. Due to time constraints (only 3 hours), we guys were unable to see the entire roundhouse exhibit: the evolution of steam locomotives. We did read all of the signs, and the explanations are very good for introducing the subject. The explanations related to the US Civil War were particularly noteworthy, and helped us both to greatly understand the importance of the B&O Railroad during that conflict. This part of the exhibit consumed most of our time, but it was very much worthwhile. The special exhibit on World War I railroaders is also excellent, but we only had enough time to quickly glance at it. Our wives, however, thought it was also superb. We saw many fathers present with their kids for fathers' day, and it appeared that all ages enjoyed the experience. We also enjoyed the gift shop, but didn't have the time to buy anything since they were in the process of closing for the day.
There's much to see you almost have to go for the entire day to really take in all the history there. My son also had a lot of fun looking at all the little train layouts.
So cool, for young and old. Locomotives you can climb into in the building beyond the roundhouse. Get in a caboose! So much to see and do.
I am a fan of railroading and the history. This place was an unexpected gem in our trip to Baltimore. Just a short walk from downtown, and a great selection of locomotive engines and history. Will be back in the future for sure!
Nice place to visit in the heart of Baltimore, MD. Large collection of historical engines, cars, and equipment. Staff is very knowledgeable on the history related to B&O.
Great place to visit for any railroad enthusiast.
Absolutely fabulous for children & adults alike!
My father and I had a wonderful time. Great set-ups, hands-on exhibitions, and very friendly staff who were willing to help us and answer our questions. Other than the heat and the closed cafe, our time here will be something we will never forget.
One of the best collections on the East Coast with steam locomotives from the beginning of railroading up to an articulated behometh. The main building is an original, completely enclosed roundhouse. You can enter the cab of several locomotives and sit at the controls. Other highlights include a Shay, a F unit A, a Pacific, a Camelback and some wonderful Pullman and Budd Co. passenger cars.
When you are tired of exploring the inner harbor, take the short car ride to the B & O Museum. Plenty of parking, reasonably high admission charge, and a plethora of steam locomotives the likes of which you've probably never seen before. Going back over a century and a half, they are beautifully restored and painted up - set in the giant Mount Clare roundhouse. Only a few cars can you actually enter, the rest of the locomotives are over the top eye candy. Walk over then to the annex and check out the giant 490 yellow Hudson and other past age artifacts.
The museum is awesome for young and old. However, in the gift shop, there were ZERO toy trains with girls names on them. There were personalized toy trains with every boys name under the sun but NO GIRLS. Hey B&O: girls like trains too!! Fix your sexist gift shop!! I wanted one for my neice but was denied. Not cool.
Great place I highly recommend
I love taking my son to see Thomas the Train here every year
Great place for kids and adults. Wheelchair accessible. Gift shop. Experts to answer questions.free parking
The museum itself was very cool. We went for the polar express train ride and it is overpriced for what it is. We had fun but I spent over $200 for a family of 4.... the hot cocoa was nice, cookies a little hard, and an impatient santa that told me 3 times to "hurry" as I'm scrambling to get a photo of him with my kids. All in all, it was enjoyable but I wouldn't do it again
Went for the Day Out With Thomas and had fun with the family. Very nice with that and all the history of the railroad.
We all love this place. Large engines in your face, under a covered restored period roundhouse. Interesting chronology from early days of rail through the golden age of steam. The workshop has some beautiful streamlined engines and coaches that harken back to the golden age of rail. Very knowledgeable staff are always willing to help with questions, no matter how inane I may have. We've been annual members for the last 4 years in a row and plan on continuing. I've always enjoyed the historical perspective of how the railway shaped and was shaped by events of the time.
Purchass a membership every year which is 52 weeks. When the Thomas the train exhibit comes to town we were told we had to pay $26.00 per person to enter with a membership. So my membership is only for 51 weeks not 52! That's kind of misleading for someone who frequents the museum slot every year with his family. I'll take my money elsewhere and go to P.A. and give to their community where its accepted. It's horrible when you work hard to have your family turned away unless you pay a outrageous extra fee when your a member and a member for years.
My apologies, it turns out my GPS made me think that I had visited this place when in fact I had just been in the train station. So these five stars, while unearned personally, are based on reviews I read and guilt for leaving a relatively bad review because I had thought I had visited the museum and I actually only had a we've through a gift shop. . Sorry about that, please visit the Railroad Museum everyone, the piano railroad was a very important part of American History Maryland history and so on. I'm very glad that it's there
If in Baltimore, visit this museum!! Beautiful history, pleasant train drive with snacks, great employees. Walk down the memory lane of the American train!
Very nice..very clean..we did Thomas day..it was nice..toys shop reasonable price!
Good fun for the kids. Very helpful staff, don't forget to ask questions. These guys know everything about trains. Beautiful building, visually stunning in late afternoon.
Such a wonderful place to visit. My nephew loves trains and has always enjoyed coming here. The kids area with the train tables is always fun for him. He also loves the model trains (one is outside and another is inside one of the train cars). The volunteers here are wonderful and very helpful and informative. Such a fabulous place to visit and I'm sure we will be back.
I have had one of the Greatest Christmas parties I have ever went to. John's Hopkins had their famous Christmas parties there. My wife is a nurse there at the hospital. The decorations were the best. The atmosphere was festive and Grand. Music was fanominal. The caterer was one of the best. We have ever had the privilege to experience. The steak and sea food was on point. The DJ had us all out on the floor dancing. The service was top notch! As for the museum during regular business hours. Are one of Baltimore's legendary places of history. Great for a day trip with family and or friends. Also top notch for school trips. A great place for ever generation. Totally fun to learn and explore.. you know if it were not for the rail road. We would not have an American Standard Time, and time zones. Before the rail road each town in America. Set their own time by the town time clocks. And each town were all a little different. For the trains to run on time by the schedule. They came up with the American Standard Time Zones. Soooo. .. Thank You Rail Roads for the right times!
Had a great time at B and O with Thomas and friends. It was well put together and e everyone was friendly and helpful.
This party was for my great nephew, But I had a ball, it was a great place to have any party there, please consider.
Great museum. Conveniently located in Baltimore, about ten minutes from downtown, with free on-site parking. The centerpiece of the museum is the historic roundhouse with beautifully restored steam locomotives and various rail cars. A number of kid-friendly exhibits, plenty of space to walk around. There are more rail cars you can walk through outside, including one with a massive HO-scale model setup, and there is a separate building that lets you sit in the cans of some of the largest steam locomotives ever built. The train excursion is great, but definitely not a necessity--plenty to do otherwise.
The B&O Railroad Museum is awesome. It's fun and interactive. They have things to do and see for all ages. The train ride was awesome as well. The staff is great, they're friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. I'm not sure if there is a place to eat inside, but I do know there are snacks and beverages served on the train, a gift shop, and a good amount of bathrooms as well.
Went for the Day out with Thomas event so they were a little packed. The exhibits are in good condition and there is plenty of space to roam. The children's area offers a number of activities to engage them as well as a scavenger hunt to complete. Favorite parts were walking through multiple trains and getting to interact with the engine cars.
Great place if you're interested in the history and evolution of trains.
Lots of fun things to do with the kids. Kids loved seeing the different trains and also it was fascinating for adults to see the old trains and carriages and how we have evolved from these huge machines to tiny sleek machines. Loved the Allegheny engine and how massive it was. Lots of activities for the kids to explore about trains too. There was a short train ride too that the kids loved it.
Will definitely be going back with entire family soon
My son’s favorite museum! A rich and informative collection of the history. We were lucky to visit the museum to join the turntable show and had a lot of fun. They should definitely put more turntable show on their schedule, that’s not something you will normally see in other places.
Fun for whole family. Thomas and Friends special exhibit day was stellar
Friendly staff, my kids loved the trains, had a great time. Could be an interesting first date location, if you're the intellectual type.
Good for the kids
If you love trains and all that pertains, you could hardly find a better spot to spend an afternoon. Dozens of engines and cars rest on the roundhouse rails, and others outside, to be entered or admired from below. Regular trips can be taken on the short line that runs a few miles up and down, a historic relic of the railroad past. Keep an eye out for special exhibits and events, and there is a lot for kids of all ages to attract and inspire with memories of a classic age of travel.
Old favorite to bring kids to see trains. They are a bit pricey but may have good deals on occasion.
Awesome place for learning about the history of trains. They have tons of old locomotives and let you sit in a couple of them. I loved it just as much as my 3 year old
A gorgeous old railroad hub at one time that is now a museum. There are many different trains and cars to see as well as the history of the railroad placards. I highly recommend this as a visit if you're interested in railroads.
There is a lot to see and do here. Being able to climb onto the engines are cars is absolutely amazing! We will definitely be back.
Magnificent, must see for any rail fan. Clearly the most comphrehensive vintage rail museum in the world! I felt compelled to become a member! You will too! Pictures don't do it justice, a must see in person!
Great place to take the kids. Lots of fun activities... carousel, train rides, lots of trains to explore. Just beware my kids hated the creepy talking heads at the entrance.
Variety of trains and friendly knowlegable employees
Definitely a very cool museum to visit if you're interested in railroads/trains, especially steam engines. They have a large collection of steam engines throughout the museum to check out and see the evolution of these engineering marvels. The museum also does a great job detailing the history of railroads and society, particularly surrounding the Civil War and World War I (it should be noted that they are doing a special exhibition on WWI now). Just as a side note, if you are more interested in diesel/electric engines (as I am), I think the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania may be a better fit...but I still would recommend checking out the B&O Museum. I easily spent 3 hours here and it was a great experience.
Great place to learn about the history of railroads. Kids have a good time there.
Good and friendly. A bit expensive (low value of our curancy). Happy to look att the Allegheny, i now seen them both
Very good displays...had some fun things for kids.
One of the best railroad museums around!
Went before Christmas and got a great photo with Santa. Christmas decorations were great all over the museum.
Went for the Easter egg hunt and train ride with the Easter Bunny. We had a great time and we learned a few things. Will definitely go again
