Do not even try to come to this museum if you have children no matter how well behaved they are. The greeter at the door informs you you are not welcome and are in the wrong place. Best to avoid this place if you have a family.

This was an amazing experience I highly recommend to anyone in the area to go twice

Thea Marasa-Scafidi

When I entered with my two children I was told that we are not welcome. He said that we should just go to the children’s museum and that my children were not welcome in their museum. Besides the discrimination against our family, the man was rude and quite mean in his behavior. Shame on them. I hope no one goes there and they close down.

Capt. Jim & Meg Sharp have amassed an improbably vast collection of Sea faring memorabilia, equipment and vessels, but even more significant is the collection of experiences, stories and anecdotes wrapped up in Jim Sharp's mind! Get him talking - you won't be disappointed. A true treasure!

Mark Resman

A wonderful place to visit. Full of history and artifacts. Captain Jim has done a great job at piecing together the sailing history of the Rockland area, much from his own experiences. A real treasure to visit the museum and meet Captain Jim, take the 1 hour DVD your. We spent 2 hours and need to go back. Best $5 spent in Rockland! With respect to the reviews of people with young children not being too welcome. The museum has many artifacts out on the tables to see, not behind glass. Lots of signs saying "please don't touch." Items picked up and touched by uncontrolled kids would ruin an irreplaceable artifact. Easy test, take kids to a china shop for 3 hours, see how it goes.

Thomas Coursey

Great place for Maritime fix.

Alyssa Grotton

Super informational and tour is at your own pace

Brad Adams

The museum is a treasure filled with memories and artifacts. So interesting and to have some time to spend with Captain Jim, who put it all together. 2 hours was not enough time so will need to return. Thank you Captain Jim for sharing your passion with us.

Anthony Nichols

Me my dad and a friend of his just came here just today. I gotta admit, this guy sure has quite a collection here of old antique equipments. A great place to learn about all the old equipment's history!
