Excellent samples of history for the boat Katahdin, the logging industry and the Mt. Kineo area. Boat doesn't run until June 22 but museum guide was very knowledgeable. If you enjoy learning about local history this is a good stop.

This was a very enjoyable day. We went on the 3 hour tour. Didnt seem like we was gone that long but was so relaxing. The captain for the day gave a lot of history of Moosehead Lake as we went along. Just might need to make this a yearly thing.

Have never been on their cruises however, wife and I were on Moosehead lake in kayaks and found ourselves in ther path of their boat. We were a good distance off but the captain respectively turned the boat and went around us far to the south making sure we weren't effective by the wake as well. Kudos to the captain!

The Moisehead Marine Museum us a terrific collection of items from the lake area. The jewel is a trip on the Katahdin, an old steam boat which once worked the lake as a commercial vessel. The museum offers different trips on different days. All are seasonal. Check it out.

The 3 hour cruise (A three hour tour) on the "Katahdin" was great. There is food available on the boat and the scenery is beautiful. At $30 (or was it $35..can't recall) was a fair price for a nice cruise on the lake.

My husband, Dave and I were married aboard Kate on July 7, 2007. Everyone says their wedding day was one of the best days of their lives, and I totally agree. Everyone from the Captain to the wonderful woman who took the ropes off Kate we're so nice to us. We had a live band - Zevulon, playing and it was just awesome. We come up every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary the 1st week of July and we usually do one of the other Rock N Roll Cruises or Dinner Cruise too. We've never had a bad day. All the staff love what they do. I highly recommend this adventure - it's fun & you're supporting a piece of history. ♥️

If you are in Greenville and don't visit then you may never understand all the wonder of how it all came to be. They have been doing great things here for longer than I can Remember! And I remember when the Katahdin was rough and grounded in town.
